We occasionally talk about guns, prepping, and politics when we're not in the middle of getting distracted, getting off topic, rambling, ranting, displaying like undiagnosed high functioning autism, all sorts of fun things, But we usually try to have a topic. And tonight it is Rate my Shit, Part one, because the idea here to prevent this from being a two and a half hour long mele is Nick is going to bear all of his sins, Yes, and I am going to rate them. Now. There are rules of engagement here. Yes, I'm going to give two scores, one for practical and one for cool. Fair enough, the. Two scores have nothing to do with each other. There will be things that are very and usually as a result, are not very cool because they're very practical. Some very cool stuff is exceptionally practiced, very few. There will be things that are very very cool that are horribly impractical. Oh, absolutely, And. Nick is free to argue if he feels like I've been unnecessarily uncharitable about any of his. Stuff or unnecessarily charitable because there's some stuff in there that's it's questionable. I'm sure. Before we let Phil forget the admin. Work, we are going to do the admin work, and then we're going to get to the topic. We're going to try to keep this to about an hour because I have to do a quick editing job tonight. I'm taking the family on vacation as soon as we get home from work tomorrow, So it's going to be like this is going to get done tonight, and then tomorrow I'm going to back the truck into the driveway, go from the driver's seat of that truck into the pastrial seat of the jeep, and we are blakes nice all right. I'm kind of I'm perpetually on the lookout for a very reasonably poliet priced, much larger chainsaw, because that's what happens when. You get really large saw. Just come hang out of my house. Well, so here's the thing, Like we've had this conversation on the mophead, I have an MS two fifty one with an eighteen inch bar on it. It is like a pretty decent mid size chainsaw, but it's just it struggles a little bit with a really really big log. Yeah, and if I ever end up in another hurricane, I'd really like to be able to cut a very large log. So it's one of those things where, like you know, a saw with like a fifteen to twenty c C bigger engine, something that could throw a twenty two inch bar without trying would be nice. Yeah, that's fair. I think I've got a thirty two inch bar on my big saw right now, and that is that's too much saw. I mean it's got a three eight wide chain. It's too much saw. Yeah, that's a chunk. Well, I don't want to sit on the front porch while we're gone, exactly. It's just begging for things. Yeah, yeah, yeah, but I am going to try both of those. I actually just ordered them fifteen pounds of green beans that are sitting back there on the shelf, which means I'm up to, like, I don't know, thirty to thirty three, thirty four. I've got six unopened bags at five pounds each, and then one open bag back there. So if I end up having to be a war lord, I have to keep my minions happy by supplying them to the caffeine. That's fair that that is my long term plan. Also, I might retire as a coffee baron. Yeah. See your wife has also joined the mad house. That'll be funning. Yes, all right, let's get to the business. What is this business? What is this? This this banner that showed up? Before we start, I just want to say a couple of things about brand loyalty. Look, there are brands that make exceptional of certain products. There are other ones are dog shit. One of the things you're gonna see regularly throughout throughout my gear, not even just in this but in later times when we do other gear stuff. I don't always buy the most expensive best gear. First, I buy reasonably okay quality, and then run it till the tires fall off, find out what I liked and disliked about it, and then I will replace it with something incrementally better until I hit a point of diminishing returns. That sounds reasonable. So, for instance, I've got some five eleven pouches on some of my stuff. Great, guess what, five eleven airsoft pouches. They're made of mostly the same nylon as everything else. Now, they're not like an ir RESI rated. At all, but they're white as good. No, but they're Jesus, they're amazing for the quality for the price that you pay for them. I mean, I've got one set that I just retired that's seventeen years old. What was it? A three mag shingle that was on my plate carrier for fifteen years? Sixteen years? My god, it's good. But don't feel like you've got to stick with Like say, I've got a piece of hs GI gear, the high speed gear, good stuff, some of it. Some of their stuff is just wildly overpriced for what you get for it. Yeah. And then as another example, sometimes you get into like Rebel Raiders gear where it's like it's all it's so far proven to be very like everything he makes, and he doesn't make a ton of stuff yet, but he has a lot of irons in the fire, a lot of potential products he's developing. But like a lot of things everything he makes so far, because I bought one of everything, Yeah, it's very high quality, it's very well made, it's very thoughtfully produced. I have to admit, like very well thought out. I do have a couple of critiques and we'll get to those I've actually I mean, i'll tell you what I've actually sent him critiques Like I said, hey, dude, love your stuff, but I noticed, like there's just one thing could have been done a little bit differently. And to me, it doesn't even matter if he doesn't take my advice or not, I really don't know. But he's the kind of guy that will at least look at the trends and feedback and say, Okay, this is the problem everybody has, let's get it. And I'm very and I'm very quick to point out to him, like some of the things that I'm pointing out are because I'm using the gear in ways you didn't necessarily intend. Yes, And that's actually one thing we're going to get to somewhere in this I want to start. You are you are going to drive? And I am going to comments or go for it? All right, So everyday carry gear. I didn't throw my wallet and cell phone in here, because everybody carries a wallet and cell phone. I do have medical gear in my truck that's not listed here. I have medical gear in the toolbox at work that's not listed here. But if I have pants on, this is the stuff I usually carry with me. And just from the top down. MMP two point zero C two fifteen round Mags vent Core, Holster vent Core mag pouch cheap was our train L three inch folding knife. Actually my brother in law gave me that and it is a fantastic little knocking around chore knife. It just it just works. It holds an edge very well. I have not had a problem with it. And a stream Light Protac two l X which replaced my feet Felix Felix Lights Phoenix light which the Phoenix light decided to melt its own lens then burn up its circuit board while in my pocket on its own And when I mentioned that to them, they would not warranty it or repair it. They wouldn't even consider repairing it. So so I'm going with Streamlight because I didn't get repair parts. Is this the part where I do the the unpaid streamlight jilling? And I point out that I've had this stream Light one l in my back pocket for so many years that it's worn the anadizing off the aluminum and it still still works just perfectly fine. I have noticed that sea I started carrying this about the time I got my first consiled carry permit. Just renewed it for the second time, so y'all can do the math. It's been about been about ten years. This thing is just starting to get a little dimmer than a brand new one. Yeah, but you can get replacement led heads for it. I've got a whole replacement light sitting in the safe for the data dies Personally, I guess what I would say is like stream lights, there might have been a day when they were like the poor man's surfire, but I would take one of those over almost any your light out there. They're so stupidly tough this light. In my job, I have to do close up eye depth inspection of various things all the time. I use this light dozens of times a day, and on the low beam setting is mostly what I use. I've got it set for just low and just high. I don't have any of the strub functions turned on, none of that. It's one of the sens aaplights. The strub functions are really great when you shine them at a diamond polished surface and you didn't realize you turned on the strub, So I turned that shit off immediately. Yep. I get about a month, month and a half out of this what is it, sixteen fifty were chargeables. Let me give you and everybody else here a pro tip. It's specific to these what do they call it? Tap tapped program stream laps? Yeah, okay, if you run yours like I do, like Nick does, where it's the first tap is low beam and then the double tap is high beam, what I do is I use that not only to have a low beam high beam function, but also as a function check, because if you hit it twice and put it in the high beam mode, if the battery is getting weak, you'll notice it go to high beam and then drop back down to low beam. Yep, and you still got a few hours of battery life and lull you do. But for me, the benefit is I immediately know just add a quick little at, a quick little function check in the more like tip tap, and it drops down a little beam up. Battery is gonna die in the next couple hours of use. And usually I will immediately like I keep I've got batteries back here, I've got batteries in the say if I've got batteries in the truck, I got batteries in my work bag. I keep seeing O one twenty threes like they're tile and all, because when they go bad, I just want to be able to jerk it out of the light, throw it away, put a new one in. So, do you want individual ratings or you just want like a whole A rating on this whole thing as presented. Adds up to you, man, you're the one doing the rating. I'm gonna see anything there that stands out as bad. No, And for that reason, I am prepared to give you a four for practicality, fair enough, But for the same token, I'm gonna give you a one for cool. There's nothing cool and that is and it is a. Nice, sick bitch, boring and reliable, and then I go for with my ADC. And that's kind of my point e DC. It's it doesn't have to be It doesn't have to be sexy. It doesn't have to be the new hotness. It doesn't have to be pink or purple or red or antidize or anything cool. It has to freaking function. It has to get gunked up with freaking pocket lint, it has to get its butt kicked and still do work. So, oh my god. It lives. It lives. Crap, where's my because I don't have everything all at once. I'm like everything, yeah, but no, I want to come on and say hello and and I you have the Is that the m MP shield nick two point oh c pot oh c ah okay, oh yeah, the the subcompact all right? Mm hmm that's the one. I'm damn sure I burned the barrel out on already. I'm I'm trying to source a new barrel and they no longer make four inch barrels. How story of your life? How? How do you burn up a barrel when you live in Illinois? Well? You see, aren't you restricted to like Amo count Yeah, we are fifteen fifteen round bags for pistols. But I also have fifteen of those fifteen round bags. Nice uh so funny thing. And I want to give a shout out to fact. Uh was it Fact? Facts and barrels? I never pronounced the name right backs. Yeah, so I have an MP two point zero. So I don't know. Maybe that picture just doesn't do it justice like that looks like the subcompact. It's the four inch yeah, so the compact, the subcompact is three point six. Yeah, it's just that picture. It just it looks like it like it looks scrunched. So it must be that it's the angle I took the picture. Probably. Yeah, So I have that same pistol. I have the m P two c H. And so I want a threaded barrel because I live in a place where I can still get suppressors. For now, it's is still going retarded. But so I wanted a threaded barrel, and so I bought like one of the the only place I could really find that was a reasonable price because I didn't want to spend five hundred dollars was Facxines They're dropping barrel. It was threaded, fluted everything, Like I'm like, sweet, awesome. I love facts and I love their barrels, good reputation. Bought it shot where shot like shit, did not cycle did not do anything. I put a suppressor on it, did not cycle did not do what. Like, I was like, holy crap, this sucks. So I reached him out. I reached out to him like it was probably a few months, I mean maybe about a month. They finally got back to me. They're like, hey, sorry, your email got lost, blah blah blah. I'm all right cool. They sent me a replacement barrel that one did not fit at all, like not even close, and so I out yeah, And so I reached out to him and I was like, hey, this is what's going on, and I took pictures and everything. They sent me another barrel and I'm like, all right, cool, the third one. Finally, the third one they sent me was like, so, they sent me one I bought, one, did not fit with crap. They sent me another one did not fit with crap. They sent me a third one, and they're like third times a term, and I'm like, all right, hopefully it works. He goes, I test fed it in a two point zero here that hopefully it works. It fits just fine, and so I dropped it in fit like perfect. So I'm sent. I sent the other two back and I was like, hey, I appreciate you doing all this stuff. So shout out to faxon for freaking like one awesome customer service and everything. So if you need a freaking barrel, go to fax and like not pay, not nothing, but go to freaking faction and they're amazing. Yeah, and I'm thinking I'm thinking about picking up a four and a quarter inch to stick on there because it will fit and function in that firearm. It'll just stick a little bit out of the slide. And who really cares if this band saw band saw it off and crowned. Well so saw Yes, no bad Phil? Hey, so, uh, being in the demon state that you are, can you can you own like I know you can't own suppressors, but can you own uh like break or threaded barrels at all? You cannot have a threaded barrel on a pistol? Why Illinois? Okay? Why are variable zoom optics also on that list? Because they're scared of the people. Yes, because because they don't understand firearms, that's the answer. They don't understand firearms. And the entire point was to get Pritzkirt some street cred when he runs for president in this next cycle. But Andrew to read you in. So here here's the rating system. I'm going all the way Jesus Christ. I'm not nearly drunk enough for that anyway. So two scores, one for practical, one for cool, one to five, scale five being the most practical, most cool one being the least on what his whole thing were here. This whole is on this setup. That's how Phil rigged it. He rigged it kind of like the primaries. So I mean, so that's a ventcoor mag pouch, okay, streamline. So why don't you have a light on your pistol? Ah see, because I don't like the idea of limited At the time when I got this, I couldn't get a weapon mounted light holster for the pistol, and I've not felt it necessary to do that because I've trained with the light separate from the pistol, and I used that light almost exclusively for work uses. It almost never gets used other than in training with the firearm. Okay, So that's the only that's the only reason. You know, at the time I couldn't get a holster for that pistol with that would take a light, and I never bothered to because I just trained to use it light in one hand pistol in the other old school cop style. I mean, no, that's that's completely fine. I just I guess my biggest thing is in today's technology with the lights that they have, especially the stream lights, the the seven A you know those you stick that on the lied and you know, I understand, like, okay, hey, I have my flash light. I already have it in my pocket. Okay, cool. I just my biggest thing is why have one hand in the light when you need when you can have two? No, I understand that entirely. And it's it's a little bit of a training scar and it's a little bit of just the fact that this is the gear I already have so I keep running. It's the same reason why I don't have a dot on this gun yet. Is number one. For the longest time, I thought they couldn't correct for my astigmatism enough to make the dots usable. And I got some new prescription glasses and they are so much better. I can now run dots and I probably will And in that point, I'm going to have to upgrade my holster to a different holster. I'm going to probably get a weapon light as well. Why don't you just go hardcore and get lasik. Because I don't like the idea of lasers in my eyes. I'm a machinist. I know how bad these things can go. Yeah, I don't know, No, I So okay, I'm gonna have to recap on the scoring scale here, but uh. One score for practical, one score for cool, one sucks, five is awesome. Uh, I would say practical, okay, about how many but through five? Oh uh, I'd give it a three for practical. Going, so I'm going to three to five. I'm practical. I would go three just because like it functions. It functions. You operate it this way. You've operated it this way for years. At the end of the day, when it comes not time to throw a lead, I don't give a ship if you have a red dot, if you have a mount of a weapon mounted light, I don't really care. As long as you can operate the thing and you're efficient. At the end of the day, I don't care, as long as you're safe and you're efficient. What about a cool score? Cool score probably two? So one five? All right, I'll take that. And I actually flip flop because I gave him four points for practical and one for cool. But I also said that it's ac It doesn't have to be cool. It just has to work. No, it's gotta work. So yeah, start of the LARPing kit. And this is this is where I have a criticism for Rebel, And it's not a criticism of the quality. This plate carrier system was not designed to run with s tax shotgun max. It was designed to be run for an AR fifteen, all right, but I can tell you this. They fit however, drawing those SI tac mags about thirty percent of the time, about three times out of ten, you'll go to pull that s tack mag out and it is belcrode to the inside of that mag shingle, right, and it's a motherfucker to get it out. I'm talking like gotta run a butter knife down behind it to get it out. So why how long we ran this for? I've been doing drills for probably about two three months now on and off with it, and it's I I've found no matter which way you orient the s TAC mag shingle, it happens about the same amount of time I've isolated it down to get I should have grabbed a picture of this. Essentially, there's a small window where his elastic that forms the U of the mag shingle does not cover and if you get the s TAC mag slid over to one side or the other slightly, it will grab on in there. Now, I think my solution he sends you with a blank placard. I'm just gonna throw some different mag pouches on there and run those. So okay, sorry, go ahead and keep going. No, that's it. Essentially, I'm running the gear in a way it was not intended to be run, and I've run into that issue. That's my only issue. With those, phil what's your thoughts? So I have to start by saying that I'm a little biased because I also have an E one Vicarion and I have ninety one. I have not gotten running a bunch of drills that yet kind of been. The patrons and the people closed to me that kept in touch know that our personal life over here on Flanning and Cord has been freaking nuts for several months, and we're just now getting past all the nuts so I can get back to like doing stuff again. But Spartan m trompas as tag shotgun cards are just a freaking cheat code. Anybody that has a shotgun doesn't have vest tags. Go fix your life. Go get a bunch, buy them. You're doing wrong not having them. If you don't have, if you don't have enough for two shotguns, you're wrong. Go get more. Yep, my, my, wife bought me one for Christmas and then realized how many I had and felt bad, like, oh, you already have a bunch, And I'm like, whoa, there's no such thing as too many shotgun cards. No, she got she got me. She got me another ass tag shotgun card as a stocking stuffer, and then realized I already had a bunch, and she was upset, and I was like, you can never have too many shotgun cards, babe. No, that's very true, because the on the one downside to shotguns is much like the one of the major downsides to revolvers. You just don't carry enough ammo. You never carry enough amo. It's no, it's bulky. Well. And then yeah, shotguns, I mean especially the Bretta's, the three hundreds and then thirteen oh ones. Uh so question that front panel, Yes, very very front. Yeah, that is that sticky like you could throw. It is velcrow. Yeah, you could, you could velcrow the tax all that. So as as Bellcrowe and sticky as the stax are, why don't you just throw those on front? So I have attempted to do that a couple of times. I've not done any like rolling on the ground work with them. With that my old plate carrier set up. I had the s tax in the pouches and that's the way I ran them. So my first impulse was, all right, let's try and run them the exact same way so I don't have to retrain as much. Fair Now, my concern is that if they're just velcrod on, there's no positive retention. And honestly that was my major concern. There's no there's no there's no physical positive retention like there is with the with the elastic. That's all fair, Federal Flight Control Apella, maybe five are now Here's here's where I'm personally stuck for rating. We all agree that it's always LARPing until it's not. It is. I gave you a four for practicality on your e DC. I almost went five, but I went four. I held back just a little bait in case you showed. Me the goods later. That's fair. I don't want to give this a two for practicality. That's understandable. But here's it's hard armor. It's big and it's heavy. It's hard armor. Where let's let's be let's be adults about this for just a moment. Now, going to see near as much use as your dct op. Optimally, my EDC sees three hundred and sixty five days of wear. Yeah, but I'm gonna give it a two because even though it is a low likelihood setup, I've personally, I personally own a lot of these pieces, and there's not a lot there's not a lot of gripes to pick with any of them. I mean, they friggin work, They're well thought out, they do great work. Raggle frag Ale was thinking the same thing I was, What about putting in an insert to prevented grabbing. I like to run. Stuff for a while before I modify it. That's why I raggled well, perfectly fair. I was honestly thinking something as simple as if you can get like the thinnest of thin Kai decks and just make almost like almost like a lettle. What I was thinking, Yeah, little little clamshell almost to convert those those shingles into like a hybrid where you have kind of a hard insert inside of the elastic. That was that was gonna be my next try before I went ahead and swapped out that for a different shrangle. Not that I think indexing them back into those shingles is going to be a common thing. But it would also help a lot of that because it's unlike I've been on the plate, throw it in the dump, powlech whatever. But unlike a magazine that has a stiff body that will kind of like make room if you shove hard enough, these things just kind of accordion if you try to cram him into too tight of a shingle. So they absolutely do so as far as cool, I'll give you three. I want to give you four. I'll give you three for now only because I don't have enough experience with this yet. But I will say that, like the times we've talked rebel hearing his philosophy on how this stuff was designed, how it was built, he has a big focus on universality, on like over reinforcing everything to the point of stupidity, Like he wants this to be the last plate carrier you ever buy. He wants it to last that long. And in a world of five hundred dollars, hype beast plate carriers for a person who's selling like a plate carrier that converts in to a chess rig, that converts into a micro rig that has all these all this extra stuff included with it. Yep, for two and forty bucks, and it's this well built that I think that's cool. It's hard to argue with Andrew. So instead of wasting your money on kaydeks just to find out it doesn't work in case, I mean it might who knows. But before you waste your money, cut the cut cardboard slices. Oh yeah, that are the exact same size as the inserts, even if a little bit a little bit taller because that way that the top of those stags don't catch. But slides the cardboard in between them. Make sure that works. It might be a little tighter because cardboard can be a little bit thicker than kaydeks. Yeah yeah, but slide some cardboard back there and honestly, if that works, then cool. But yeah, I mean, and then honestly, like, are you guys talking about after you use the kaita or after you use the sta to stuff it back in there? No, that's that was more of a tertiary benefit. Phil was saying, I think, but. I don't think that's a big draw personally. Be no, because what I'm saying is like, I mean, so Nick, you've taken the shotgun class with me, I have Phil, you have yet to take the shotgun class with me. Take shotgun class. Yes, so. Nick knows like when you're doing the rolling thunder. Fucking just throwing those all over the. Ground, on the ground, and you're freaking slapping another one on as fast as you can. So what I'm saying is like in the heat of battle, which obviously this is like the slim chance of this happening is very, very slim. The heat of a shotgun match is really what we're talking about. Yeah, and then so that's what I'm saying, though, it is like you're not just being like, let me take this, says tech off and stuff it back in. Dude, I'm ripping that freaking thing off, and I'm throwing it on the ground. Best case you're going to have half a second behind a barricade to throw it in, to throw it in a dump pouch that ruck it. Right, Yeah, So so I mean, I guess, but my biggest thing is like, all right, so pull like getting out, So pulling it out and making sure that it's not sticking. I would I would start with a piece of cardboard cut cost uh, just to see make sure it works. If you want to upgrade to KAYDEKX down the road. Cool, awesome, more power to you. I would experience heavily with uh, like sticking it right on the front of that kit, because I feel like you're you're not utilizing that kit the properly way, or you're not that kit to the fullest potential. You could be running a primary secondary which as like if you know, honestly, if you're thinking about this as a s HTF kind of thing, Uh, you have three placards uh, or you have three of the s tech on front velcrode because you and I both know, all three of us know how sticky those s techs are and you're rolling around, they're not going to come loose. Maybe not. I'd like, I'd have to test it a bunch. You're gonna have get pushing through brush and ship I said through. Yeah, but if you're crawling through brush, dude, like freaking you're in trouble. Oh hell yeah. A shot is not going to be the gun that I grab. Well, but legally speaking, it's what I can train with currently. Yeah. So if you have those three stacks on the front and then you utilize those to what they're supposed to be, which is ar Magshuh. Then you could sit there and say, all right, I have my primary, like technically you kind of have two primaries and you have as a pistol. Uh, but definitely you know. But yeah, so anyway, practically what I uh, practically, I'd say like probably like a three. I think there's very good potential there. Especially I like the the bel fang on the side. I don't do crap with my beil fang, but I like the comms on the side. I do like the way you did the st Tech shotgun. Uh, you know, and they're utilizing that cool factor. I mean it is cool. I'd say probably like a three and. A half mid range cool. I agree with that cool. I think I think it'd be cool. Like if you added like an American flag patch, I'd probably like four and a half, you know, pat yeah, matches. I mean it's you know, it's cool, but you know, what can you do better? Uh? And what's the next thing? All right? So the last thing on this list that I cannot have because Rebel won't sell it to me is a is the Phoenix duty pack. And then maybe one we are just kind of a bullying We are constantly bullying him about the Phoenix, though I. Will bully rebel until he takes my money. Why can't he sell it? Not that he it's not that he can't. So when he did his initial run of gear, he was selling the Phoenix, which I because, I mean, the guy used to work for can I if that gives you an idea of his background. And he had the Phoenix, he sold them all out, and then when he came around for the second run of all this gear, ther Trump tariffs murdered it, like they jacked the price upon it to the point where he he couldn't git money worthwhile. Yeah, and we get Nick and I and several people are continuing to like, I mean extra. At him for it. I mean, we donate me one. That way I can rub in their face that I got one. I mean, we've threatened the freaking ship, hookers and cocaine to his house if he would just put the dam thing back in production. But obviously that doesn't have any weight. Yeah, he behind the scenes told us what it would have to retail for, and I told him, dude, I would absolutely pay that for a backpack I have and I will continue to. I think, I think based on the conversations he and I have had just one on one like he's he's really stuck on the idea that he wants the retail price at a certain amount, and he's actively seeing, like what can I do to get the price down to that without compromising quality? Which is fair? Yeah, alright, so half of my belt kit, all right, even more larpening. So the we'll get to the other half in slide four. I couldn't get it all in one picture, all right. So the base belt is an Infidel padded war belt that I won at a three gun competition for coming in third like fifteen years ago. If you don't have one of these belts and you need a belt, a belt, and you like a four inch belt, this thing is phenomenal. It is held up endlessly. I have kicked the absolute shit out of it. I'm also using now rebels h Harness to support that because I have no ass so I need an age. Harness can confirm. Can't confirm. So two five eleven or a five eleven double pistol mag pouch in coyote, because that's the color I had laying around a couple of no name. I assume five eleven double rifle mag pouch that are holding another two sets of sc tax shotgun mags and HSGI magnet dump pouch, the version one because I bought it when it first came out, and a pair of cat tourniquets in there. I think it's Woodland pouches that they sell them with on North American Rescue. Yeah for this six? Who was one? What is none for this? And I have four limbs? I need to get two more on there somewhere. I will rate you higher than I did the plate carrier. Okay, I will. Give all right, okay, okay, b First, my first thought was four, but that's the same rating as I gave your EDC practicality. This is a white EEDC levels of practicality. But I'll give it like a three point five for this. Accept that because in most places, if you put on a fricking play carrier with level four plates and you walk around in front, in the front yard, front of your neighbors, you're probably gonna get the police called on you, possibly for a mental health check, possibly for other reasons. But in most places you could put on a war belt, a pistol belt like this and fly substantially more under the radar, especially out in the boonies where I'm at, especially out in the boonies. So I will give this like a three and a half for practicality. I'll give it a three for cool. All right, there's nothing in here that's like world ending, earth shattering unusual. But everything in here does a thing, it all works, it all, I mean, it's all known good stuff. Oh yeah, And frankly, i'm looking at how it's laid out. I'm assuming that. I'm assuming that, like the dump pouch is in the sub small of your back, right the. Dump pouch, so the pistol mag pouches would be at basically eleven o'clock the rifle. The rifle mag pouches are at ten, so it'd be like nine thirty to seven is the dump pouch, and then six is the tourniquits because I could reach them at both sides with That's the only reason my turner quits in my in my I fact, when you're seeing the next slider all right in the middle of the small. Back, I will I will stand bit on business with a three and a half practicality and only a three for cool only because even though on my belt I also have something in the small of my back. I still to this day, like I I try to fight against that so hard, because you got to bear in mind, when I was in a rack, I did vehicle ops and there's nothing more annoying than not being able to sit flat against the seatback because something like, you know, sticking you in the back, propping you up. It's just interesting thing about this kit though, all of that stuff in the small my back sticks out almost exactly the same as my plate carrier. And and that that that's fair. That's fair? Do have Andrew? Hmmm? Uh? I mean, I guess I would score the same as Phil My. My biggest thing is the tournique. So you have your tourniquts. So one of these days, put your belt on, sit in your seat in your vehicle and pretend that you something happened you and you know you got to throw a tourniquet on your leg. Your right arm is your right arm is injured here, and so you have your left arm and maybe you've got a vehicle accident. What have you? Grab a tourniquet, put it on your leg. That's fair. And now I used to have two more tourniquets on my plate carrier, and I am working on finding the place I want them on this plate carrier. Right, So that's so all I'm saying is like, no, I think it's very fair. So having them always on this all on my back, I don't I'm not super happy with. Right, But all I'm saying is, you know, just throw one that's a little bit closer. I don't know what you're running on this. Well, we'll get to that, but you know, I would definitely I would move at least one of the tourniquets up closer to the front, either on your mag side, like close to the mag side, or on We'll see what happens when. You you'll see it's pretty well out of real estate. Yeah, but there's only two on the belt, and there's gonna be ideally there will be probably one on either side of the of the plate carrier eventually. Well, I mean, but that's the thing though, too, is like, you know, two is one to one is none. I believe that wholeheartedly. But you can also have so much to where you're over crowding. Oh you absolutely can't, which is why the belt is kind of stayed where it's at. What do you think for rating Andrew? Like I said, I think the same as Phil, like half and three. All right, let's go to the other side here. So I fact is a little right of right of the middle of the back, and then pistol is right strong side three o'clock and that's about all the room. There's a room for a third turn a kit in there, but realistically not really. The molly doesn't line. Up and rebels Rated Raiders H Harness. Rebels Raiders H Harness black renal concealment kaydak holster for the m P two point zero c uh the I fact which we've gone into depth on what's in that effect before, so I'm going to leave that off for time. This bears an explanation for Andrew though, So the when you get Rebel Raiders for carrying plate carrier, it comes as Nick has it set up for the most part, a couple of things added to it, but very little. But it also comes with a full H harness and a back black blanking plate for the for the belcrow on the bag, so that you can basically take the whole thing upon hard take the plate bags out and put it back together almost like a full like a full sized Rekie rig YEP and you can also downsize it into a micro rig. So I'm assuming you're using the H harness that was meant to be used for. The for the Rekie rig with this, Yes, absolutely, because I was using an alice, an old alice rig AH harness that I had picked up. How much more comfortable is this, Scouts? Oh my god, not having the steel clips poking into you all the time. Phenomenal. It doesn't wear holes in my shirts anymore. Love it. I gotta throw this question up for you before we start to get to rating, because you and I have already had this discussion. I can just it's I don't because I don't have a whole lot on the side of my plate carrier. The only thing on there is the radio and it's back behind the pistol. It's slightly past three o'clock. I can just the cumber bun is so slim on the Rebels Raiders carrier, much like my old Ari's armor Deerma. It doesn't get in the way of a drawstroke, right. So I guess so, all right, so I highly recommend looking into the Safari Land level two holster and then also look into their QLs kit. Yeah, I've heard of it. It looks like, yeah, I I that's what I run on mine. I swear by I love it. Uh. And then I mean, really, you can do like a mid drop. You don't have to do like a super long drop because they have like they have like three different drops do like a mid drop that it drops it down a little bit, uh, and then it's not low enough to where like if you're running, it doesn't like flop around. So you don't like harness or anything like that. But because I hate the thigh strap, yeah no, this is not a five strap. But what's nice is if you get the Safari Land. If you get that Safari Land, I gotta off to look forward after like one day after the show. But basically you have a there's a company out there that actually makes a bracket that it mounts on it mounts and it wraps around the front of. Can't sit out a little bit right? Well no, no, it so it has a mount that comes up and around and then you can actually mount a tourniquet holder on the phone your holster. So that so that puts the that that puts a tourniquet right on the front of your holster. So like if if something were to happen and if you you know, granted it's on your right side, still. You can I can reach across, I can draw my pistol with my left hand. Right, I've done those drills, right, So if you can hit that if you can grab that, that that allows you to put a tourniquet on up up a little bit closer, and then you know you have a tourniquet, because I mean, yeah, I'm a big proponent for medical you can have I would say, like an ipac with a tourniquet, and then you have a turnquit maybe closer up like I said, like on the on the holster, and then a tourniquet on your vest somewhere. I'd like to get one on the plate. At the end of the day, if you're placing three tourniquets, you are in bigger trouble than what you're cut out for. And really you're a bigger trouble. Than anybody is cut up you have to place three tourniquets, I mean. Probably, but the number of times I've been at a range working as like Okay, so one of the ranges I used to be a member of, they used to do a hunter's sight end day. We had a coffee can that was if you hand us your rifle to safety check and there's AMMO in it, it goes in the coffee can, and that motherfucker was full at the end of the day of no the gun's empty bullets. Are you wearing this plate carrier during that? I did during that, not this one. I was wearing an aria's armor dermal because there was enough guys walking up with loaded rifles. The thing is, though, is so The thing is though, is like, if yeah, where you're where, you're a kit, do whatever you want. You guys should have an external an external medical kit out did your kit. That's what I'm saying is you should have a you should have that set up with a five to ten freaking tourniquits on it, like ready to go, and then all the stuff for stop the bleed, Like you should have a kit ready to go because we usually we. Usually had one of our members that was an EMT on site too. But what I'm saying is EMT on site is seventy five yards away and I have a tourniquet on my plate, I'm a happier man than when it is. No. But I completely understand that. But at the end of the day, like a lot of this stuff like IPAC and stuff like that, like the individual first aid kit, that is not your first aid kit. It is my first aid kit. Correct, So yeah, if you can, if you have a tourniquit ready to go, that's on the front of your plate carrier, on the side of your holster. Than great, utilize that. But if you're if like if you're expecting an event that size, really, in reality, you should have a standalone medical kit kit it out with to treat at least five patients a mass casualty incident, treat many patients and then uh, and then you have your kid as backup, like you should not be drawn from your kit. Uh like that. So but at the end of the day, like I mean, I would I would rate this the same as pills because it's you know, yeah, it's practical. I think it doesn't serve a purpose. Yes, it's practical. Coolness factor, I'd say it's probably like more of like a three yeah half, just because like I don't know, to me, it's like the nostalgia of the kid itself and then the look it looks, you know, and everything. So yeah, it's it's basically set up like a late g wat kit. It's not it's nothing groundbreaking, it's nothing new. It's reliable, it's dependable. I mean, the last bit of this kit here before we get to the last slide, just a helmet. I tend to run if we're doing skip. One I did. It's just a Burretta. It's just a shotgun. Okay, but we can give we could score, we could score Barretta eight three hundred really quick though. All right, give it to me five hand, hands down, okay? Eight? Well, actually, you know what, I would say four because it's not there's. No there's no dot on there either. Yes, I will. I will give it a solid four for practicality. A red dot would have got. You to a five. I believe that. Yeah, and I am prepared to go four for cool, Yeah, I mean for it's I. Have said this before. For the price tag of a thirteen oh one, you can have the Barretta E three hundred two cases of AMMO and a class with track. But here's my thing, here's why, here's why I I rate an eight three hundred so high, not taking eighting from a thirteen to one. It's a cool gun, oh it is. It's a really cool gun. It's and I would argue a better firearm from a mechanical standpoint. That's fair. But what I appreci about it, Like you've heard me give the spiel before about like what tickles my What tickles my my happies is the intersection point between works really well and very very affordable, And wherever those two lines cross, that's usually where I. That's usually where I looked by and the A three hundred hits that because it's like it's conservatively eighty percent of what A thirteen oh one is. It eats like a fat kit and all you can eat buffet. It doesn't bitch about anything you stick in it. If it seats it. If it seats, it yeats. Oh yeah. I've shot everything from freaking like bird shot all the way to freaking one out slugs out of this stand thing. It does not give a. Dam's actually, try many shells. I haven't tried many shells yet. That is a point. But if it seats, it yeats. Yeah, And I. Mean it might not cycle reliably with many shells. I don't know, but. I haven't found anything yet it doesn't cycle reliably. That was my point too. I mean I've got some you know, the old triplex BB's number four and then double lot, the old triplex federal loads. I have four and a half cases of various sizes of triplex loads. We've now got steel plates on the shotgun range. At my new range, we're gonna play with triplexes and see how well it does. So, yes, if you had a red dot on this thing, I would give you five. Okay, all right, I think, I think, I mean maybe one of these days I can come down there or here at whatever. I would be curious you and I by side by side, same ammo okay, and I would just be because I have a thirteen oh one, Okay, I would be curious to see just the difference in it, you know. So I will tell you this. Your thirteen one throws a tighter pattern with Federal Flight Control eight pell than that three hundred does. Well. Yeah, I mean yeah, I saw that when you took that class with me. Oh my god, it was it was wildly different. I was thrown twice a size pattern. But the odd part is you and I both have a three hundreds and with the exact same ammo mind patterns tigher than yours. Does it does? It's just shotgun weirdness. Yeah, I know. That's what I'm saying is I'd be curious. I would be curious, And I mean maybe at the maybe at at my wedding. Uh we can if you bring Philip, if you and especially well, it's gonna be kind of winner. So we'll see. But you saw, so it'd be fun to bring you guys up and then we can shoot and do an a three hundred next to an eight three hundred next to a thirteen oh one and just see, like it'd be interesting to see what the difference is with AMO, Like. I mean that class we ran. You and I were both running what I think we were both running federal target loads. Weren't we sevens? Federal? Yeah, I believe, federal number sevens. And then we're also running also target practice with the target. With some of the federal flight control eight pell. Yeah, federal flight control. And at fifteen yards mine was still like a boulder going through the. Oh my gosh. Yeah, it was like getting hit with a slug. Yeah, so yeah, I but I agree with Phil. I would say a four. Uh, you would have been a five if you had a red dot, which mister peasant, I don't know why you don't have a red dot on that thing yet. Hey man, it's just one of those things, dude, you didn't get. You can get a good hollow sun, like I say, and I say, good hollow sun very exactly, because it's for. Probably a tenth of the price or what was it, Yeah, a tenth of the price of what I paid for that Bridgeport mill I just put in my garage. Five out look, A five oh seven comp is like, that's what I'm looking the chef's kiss on top of an A three hundred. It's reasonably priced, has got a little bit of a bigger window than the five oh seven does. The five oh seven C is a little the compact, isn't it. Uh? Yeah, probably meant to write comp and stead of see, because seven C is what I'm looking at putting on my ADC pistol, and five or seven comp was what I was looking at on the shotgun. The five oh seven comp is perfect and interestingly enough, and this is just the way it works out with mine. But when you said it to my favorite radical, which is the Donot death with the pip in the middle, I've got that pip zero for a twenty five yard hit with a slug nice and at at so far, at any range from like almost point blank all the way out to twenty five yards, most of my doublet buckshots falling within the donut to death. That's what you want, right, that's it scales so perfectly from like seven yards after about twenty. I mean, I guess it depends on the budget and stuff like that. If you want to kill a red dot on a top of your and that on top of that pistol that you have a Steiner dude, Yeah, the Steiner MPs. I've had that, right, I haven't seen it? Oh my god, like dude, yeah, the Steiner MPs. You're looking at the Steiner you know, you're looking at a Steiner optic. Uh. And I think they're like five or six hundred or something like that. Yeah. Uh, it's a it's a closed emitter like and that's the thing too, is you gotta you gotta take account is is it closed or open emitter? Because you have open emitter, you have the chance of U and I And I've never had this happen before. Uh in some training I had it happened a little bit like not. It wasn't too hard to clear o dirt getting down in the emitter, especially for a pistol. Yes, this is every day. Yes, I honestly I am not a pro. I do not claim to be a pro. But for E. D. C. I highly recommend closed emitter. I can understand why. And I was leaning that way myself. Yes, it just closed the miitter that way. Dust debris, lint, belly button lint, whatever have you sure get inside of that. And then when you go to pull, you're like, oh, crap, I gotta make a I gotta like blow it out because I'm hosed. So so just because you couldn't see the bail fang and I couldn't get the helmet in the shot bail fang with an upgraded Nagoya and ten on it. It just works. It just works. I mean helmet because I forget to duck some of the classes I was running. We were in an old barn and the doors were short. I am tall. You can't really see in the pictures there's a bunch of scratches on the helmet where I've wailed my head into the door. I can confirm those ballistic helmets are bump rated. Excellent, I would hope. So yeah, they do actually a really great job. That one. That's the hardhead veteran ate Gen two. So it's not as heavy as you would think, you know, it's it's not uncomfortable. I would say, it was lighter than my like dirt biking helmet back in the day, but I haven't weighed. Yeah, I like the hardheaded veterans. There's something missing on that helmet knots. I can my peltars because my peltroarers are currently in lawnmower mode so they have the headband on them. I can't. I can't place it. What's missing? Phil something about right here? They cost about poor geese about four grand missing right there? What I goh? I would say cool factor went down to at least a two. So we were shooting out to like roughly five hundred yards on everybody except one A hole was shooting suppressed where he was from Illinois exactly shoot. I think it was a I think I'm pretty sure it was a seven millimeter p r C A heath and I was shooting next to him. It hurt. I'm sorry, crap, Like. Dude, this this guy would touch up like this guy would touch off around and we would like we would get ready, like we would see him loading, and we would like back up, like away from the pavilion, like away from the area that he was shooting at. We're like, nah, dude, you could just shoot yourself. We were doing we're selling my three hundred win mag Oh my god. We were doing a shooting competition at the very end, and uh he was he was like all right, I'm going to go and like the dude, uh the guy who was running the beeper just to like keep time and stuff, he hit the beeper and like ran like he was here on your own, I can I can get your time from back here, you know, because it was like, dude, oh my god. Uh yeah, anyway, that's not I like that. I like the I like the setup. The spotting scope is good. Uh what what the what scope you have running on top of that? Is that a vortex? So that is a Vortex viper for fifty on. I made the rings for it, so their machine, his habits well, yeah, I mean I had access to a guy that knew how to run a jig grinder for the last fifty years, so I had him. I had him lap and hone my rings to an asenine level of precision. Threw an old magpole PRS stock on the back of the Vortex or the MDTLSS chassis so it's got the bottom metal adaption so it can take the It can take I think five and ten round bags, which is nice. So is this the thing you played darts at three hundred yards with? Yeah, So, me and my coworker Paul, we used to go out to a three hundred yard rifle range and we'd take and print out at dartboard on like a legal sized sheet of paper, so it's about size full sized dartboard, and we would stick it out at three hundred yards and we would play cricket with rifles and we played a few bus You reset to zero, So, okay, this rifle is the loads for this rifle have been tuned to the point where it's bullet to bullet at three hundred yards, and. This is. Not the original barrel to this rifle, but is the same profile barrel. Okay, I'm I'm going to maybe be a little out of line here, Okay, but I'll give it a four for practicality and cool. Okay for reasons because first of all, that's a thirty odd six. Thirty thirty man. There's only a handful of things on the continent of North America you cannot stuff into a freezer with a thirty odd six. And that's largely down to shot placement. You can stuff a moose with an odd sex if you're doing it. Yeah, So practicality is way up there. If it were just a box stock thirty odd six Rempton seven hundred, it wouldn't get a lot of cool points. But you kind of have to give cool points to anything that you can play darts with at three hundred freaking yards. Yeah, Like, I know that. I know that the news thinks if you can hit like a torso sized target at eighty yards you must be a freaking sniper. But those who's in the shooting community know that's not that difficult. But being able to play darts at three hundred yards with a rifle is kind of a thing. Like it's a thing. It's the guy, the guy that taught me how to handload shou thousand yard rifle matches with black powder. He would hang out with Eddie and give Eddie a run for his money. They probably know each other, to be honest, and in fact, they just might. I should ask Paul if he's met him. I mean, if you've met him, you have met him and you will not forget him. Yeah, the same goes for Paul. All right, So what do you think Andrew? Practical and cool? Um? I mean practical, I would say four. I mean it serves its purpose. You have your I mean obviously, when you're scanning, you don't want to sit there and be like, I'm flagging everybody, so you get hiding scope and you got your bo's Okay, cool factor, I'd probably say three. If you lived in a place where you could own a suppressor, I'd probably say like a four or higher. A four definitely the suppressor if you had night vision on the front of that thing, and probably be a five. But I would say I would say like a three, uh three for cool. But yeah, yeah, I mean it's it's just so. When I originally bought this rifle I traded. I think I think it was a thirty eight special revolver for this rifle in its original wooden chassis, wooden stock, i should say, and it had no scope on it. I was like, well, fuck it, I'll throw this vortex. I had the vortex sitting around, so I was like, I'm gonna throw the vortex on. Seatt shoots and it shot, so okay, we can tune that in. Not a problem. And then I got onto gosh, I think it was YouTube, and I saw an advertisement for the LSS chassis system for Remington seven hundred, and I thought, I'll be damned, that's oddly convenient. Let's hit that sail. So I grabbed that, slapped it in the chassis through a random butt stock that I had sitting around in my safe on it, took it back to the range with the exact same AMMO, and it went from shooting a two inch group at one hundred yards, two ish inch group at one hundred yards, down at a three quarter inch at one hundred yards, just getting rid of the wood m h. So what we know is that woodstock was putting pressure on the barrel somewhere, and after taking it out of that stock. I found the pressure point in that stock because it had actually worn through the original black oxide coating on the barrel. That'll do it. Yeah, there was definitely a pressure point there. Ragel is calling you out saying, not one of the cool new cartridges. But I'm actually going to stuff raggle on that because so hear me out like that. This is the reason why, like personally, like I've talked about how like by the end of the year, I really want to build a really nice precision rifle, and I'm going to build into three away Winchester. But what it is is a cartridge with sixty freaking years of user experience of handloading, knowledge of component availability behind it. It's never freaking going away. It's always going to be available. It's easy to get AMMO anywhere. And it doesn't smoke a barrel in five thousand rounds. Yes, that's a nice thing. I like about thirty odd six over my three hundred win bag. I've already damn near smoked the barrel out of that three hundred win BG. Yeah, like there are. There are reasons why the new cool cartriches are new and cool. But I'm going to be the first one tell you that, Like for my money, I'm usually going to be the late adopter that's going to stick to the old stuff because it freaking works. If it's stuck around for half a century, it ain't going anywhere. Now. Three O eight's cool. I'm I'm biased towards six point five creed more fair enough, it's a great round, but three O eight, I mean I have an air ten and three O eight I love it, and my bolt actions in six'. Five, So, andrew do you happen to know what the barrel life is for a six or? Five? Uh, NO i would bet a lot less than three. Away it's like five to seven five to seven thousand rounds depending on the loads you're shooting better than three hundred wind mag is like eight thousand ish thirty. Six it's in the like ten to Eleven for a person like me that compulsively shoots more rounds than they probably, should. That's odd least.
