And I'm going to try to bring you some of the coolest guests that I can get my hands on. Okay? And we're going to utilize that through the month of September to do weekly emergency check-ins. Okay? We're going to do that weekly. Okay? Every Sunday night, 9 p.m., or a little later if we have a guest. Or, you know, we'll do it before, actually, if we have a guest. It's going to be awesome. Okay? It's going to be – that Prepper Net,

[00:06:38] we are going to build the emergency comms meetup group on that net. We started our own not too long ago. Didn't really fill out the one I wanted to fill. But we're going to build that on the Prepper Net, and that's going to start in September also. So if – so long story short, because I know comms are brutal, right? They're brutal to wrap your head around. Emergency comms are tough. Here's the long and short of it.

[00:07:04] But we're going to create a group that meets monthly simply to test the group connectivity. And we're going to do it on push-button pocklink radios so that meeting with the net is as simple as blip, and then you're talking. Okay? That's the goal. That's the whole goal right there. That's what I want. If we can get there, then we're winning. You know what I mean? It's that simple.

[00:07:33] If we can get there, that's a whole other layer of PBN that I just will be very proud of. You know? And the reason the Prepper Net emergency comms channel is so important to me is because I want you to know and be confident in the fact that, like, when disaster strikes or when national disaster strikes or when something goes haywire,

[00:07:59] you can press a button and somebody will be there. You know what I mean? Or you can listen in and somebody will be pressing a button and giving an update. Right? Some crazy thing happens in, like, Seattle or Oregon and you get a beep from the West Coast and they tell you what's really going on or tell you that things are really bad and they need help. I'm not saying that, you know, we're going to rush to the aid of everybody,

[00:08:25] but you'd be surprised at how many PBN listeners there are out there in the net. You're surprised about how many PBN listeners there are out there in the United States. And you may have some that are right close by. I mean, it's been more than one time we've done a show, invited people to our private chat, and then all of a sudden they're back there chatting and they realize, oh, you're close to me. Where are you?

[00:08:52] You're at this region, in this region of this state? Okay, well, I'm in it. Yep, I'm there too. Let's meet up. If you get into the Yellman chat room, then you're already good people. You know what I mean? If you find your way into that private chat of ours, then we already know that you've got, you know, if you're a loser who doesn't want to participate and just wants to get in there and make trouble, you're not going to go through the trouble of finding the chat, right?

[00:09:23] Which is why we don't have some bloated discord with a bunch of moderators who have to throw people out all the time and a bunch of political battles that nobody wants to listen to. So, yes, we have a chat. No, it's not easy to get into. And that's by design. It's largely by invite, to be honest with you. So, do what you will with that information. Do what you will with that information.

[00:09:53] So, we're also going to run our prepper tips through the month of September. You may remember last year we did 30 days of prepper tips all through the month of September. And the prepper tips are done by myself and Dave Jones. I think Jordan might be in there also. Some tips from her. I think we even got some tips from one of our old hosts, Carl B. But the tip shows are great. They're about two to three minutes long.

[00:10:20] Little blips, little tips that you can add to your world and your world of preparedness, okay? It's the 25th of August. And we're looking to stay on top of this thing. You know what I mean? I really do. I want to stay on top of the world of National Preparedness Month. Because a lot of times it catches us by surprise.

We might have to check that. We might have to check that one. Because the common ground, for those of you who don't know, look at the topo map on the top and you and all your buddies and the sunrise and the mountains.

[00:28:45] Uh-oh. Canada announces dollar for dollar retaliatory tariffs. What's that mean? Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, is this real? Is this what I think it is? Hold on, hold on. Is this what I think it is? Defending service members in our schools.

[00:29:15] What does that mean? Deployed, not disqualified. What does this mean? The House Education Workforce Committee holds a field hearing on deployed, not disqualified, defending service members in our schools. What does that mean? There has also been positivities throughout all of this. Our district has gained a wonderful new superintendent who I believe can bring amazing things to our schools and our students. Our community has shown that it cares deeply about what happens

[00:29:44] within our school district. Through everything, one thing has remained clear to me. Our men and women in uniform are the backbone of this country. They leave their families behind. They miss birthdays, holidays, milestones, and ordinary moments that most of us take for granted. And they put themselves in dangerous situations because they took an oath to protect this country. They don't do it for the validation. They don't do it for a pat on the back. They do it because they believe in something bigger than themselves. Ray did not stop being a husband, father, soldier,

[00:30:14] or community servant when he deployed. If anything, he tried to continue to fulfill every responsibility he had. He served his country while trying to serve the community that elected him. I believe our military members deserve respect not only when they are wearing a uniform but also when they return home and continue serving their communities in other ways. What is the problem? There are men and women across this country who serve in schools and on our boards and in our communities in public positions while they also are serving in the military. They should not have to choose between

[00:30:43] serving their country, serving their community, to where they are elected to represent. Ray was elected by the people. I had no idea this was an issue. Circumstances became dangerous and completely out of his control. He did what he had to do to stay alive and return home to his family. I'm proud of him as the soldier and husband and father he is. I'm proud that even though everything our family has experienced that continue to care and support by his community and students he was elected to serve, we can disagree, we can debate,

[00:31:13] but we can do all those things without destroying families, attacking someone's character, or forgetting the sacrifices made by the men and women who serve this country. At the end of the day, I am simply a wife who wants her husband home safe, a mother who wants her family left in peace, a community member who believes we can do better, and that we should expect better. Most importantly, we should remember that behind every service member is a family who has served too.

I'm the acting director of the Center for Education Policy and the Will Skilman Senior Research Fellow at the Heritage Foundation. The views I express in this testimony are my own and should not be considered as representing any official position of the Heritage Foundation. Thank you, Mr. Chairman and Representative McLean for the opportunity to testify. My testimony makes two points. First, Congress should give military families

[00:32:13] more education options by allowing federal education funds to follow children to the learning environments that their parents choose. Second, states should move school board elections to general election years so that more voters participate and school boards better reflect the communities they serve. All good stuff. Not what I thought we were getting into. their commitment to our country and the sacrifice In my mind, I thought I was listening to something that was going to put active service members in the schools

[00:32:42] to protect the kids. I know that's crazy. That's absolutely insane. Right? Isn't that crazy? It's crazy that that's crazy. It's crazy that people go, oh my god, another school was shot up. Maybe we should take the service members who are trained to defend and defend this country and put some of them in the schools so that if an active shooter shows up, they have to face a soldier instead of a principal or a math teacher

[00:33:11] or a five-year-old. I thought that's what we were listening to there, but hey, take care of the service members, man. You know, it's no joke. It's no joke. I can't believe this woman's still alive. This is amazing to me. This really makes me question a lot. Right? She's still alive. New Mexico sues DOJ for unredacted Epstein files. What's that mean?

[00:33:40] This is the interesting one I saw earlier. Well, let's look at the dollar for dollar tariffs. Let's see what we're going to get skewered for by Canada. What are they sending us that's going to really hurt us bad? This is from the Epoch Times, by the way, folks, which just, you know, is the greatest publication there is out there right now. Ottawa has announced new tariffs impacting about CA 28 billion, US 20 billion American imports matching new American tariffs on Canada dollar for dollar. The new tariffs will come

[00:34:09] into force on September 8th. The announcement comes after trade talks between Ottawa and Washington collapsed on the 21st with Washington imposing 50% tariffs on California. I'm sorry, Canada. That's good. That's pretty damn good. Right. You know what that is. That's a slip up. That's a slip up. That ain't really all that much of a slip up. The US tariffs affecting about 5% of Canadian exports to the United States

[00:34:39] applied to a range of products, including alcohol, dairy, honey, and hockey sticks. Oh, no, honey. Got to tell my wife. Get your hot. Well, you know what? She doesn't even have to worry about that anymore, does she? So alcohol, dairy, honey, and hockey sticks. Hey, buy local dairy and local honey. What's the problem? Right. And support your local rum runner. Okay. Problem solved. Problem solved. Buy local honey, buy local dairy,

[00:35:09] and support your local rum runner. And, you know, if you need a hockey stick, get it now. I don't know. Canada's new tariffs affecting... I don't know how to read this. CA 27.6 billion American products include increasing tariffs on American steel, aluminum, 25% to 50% in line with U.S. sectoral tariffs on these metals. As well, Ottawa's imposing a new 50% tariff on Americans' clothing

[00:35:39] and 25% tariffs on appliances, seafood, and dairy products. So, um... Sorry, Canadians. You're going to have to pay more for... I don't know. It is what it is. Uh, what you have is... Here's the deal. You know, this is the whole... This is the whole thing. This is the whole Trump presidency. This is the whole argument in the country, right? This... The evacuation orders were issued May 821 due to a threat of explosion or leak from a chemical tank in a facility owned by GK and Aerospace Transparency Systems. Oh, my God.
