This might be loud. You're listening to PBN. Your path back to stability here. PBN family, we have, man, do we have a corral, a gaggle, if you will, of hosts on tonight's show. We're going to be doing the hot and heavy recap of Prepper Camp 2026. It was a year, man. It was a year. Before we get rolling, I want to remind everybody on the podcast, listening, watching, wherever you're doing it. What's up, Cosmo? Solomon Survival over at Instagram. You guys are popping in early. Thank you. tomorrow, 9 a.m. Eastern, we're going to have the fellas from Be Prepared Solutions on to kick off National Preparedness Month, 30 days, live every day, okay, it's going to be one hell of a month, and 9 p.m. Eastern, we're going to have the Phoenix on, okay, the Phoenix is going to be on as well, it's going to be a double header to kick the month off, and it's going to be crazy from there on, so uh, without further ado, let's bring on the crew. Each and every one of these people, uh, allocated at least a half a gallon to a gallon of sweat to the cause this year. I have to imagine, right? Something along those lines, we had to have allocated a good, a good amount of sweat. Hey, well, I have a little bit of an opening. What do you call a group of preppers? Okay. So, uh, You know, like a monkey, a group of monkeys is a troop. Troop, a herder. A paddle or a herd. A group of preppers is called a cluster. Oh, I like a cluster. I like that. Make your own joke. Insert joke here. I like a cluster. Yeah. Cluster cuss is more like it. But yeah, so why don't we real quick, most of you guys watching know who we're dealing with here on PBN tonight. But just real quick, I'm James, the Intrepid Commander, the guy who's always on here yapping. And we're going to go around the roundtable here and let everybody sort of introduce themselves, what they do on PBN or what they do outside of PBN. Because we've got some PBN insiders and outside. Well, I don't know. You guys are basically insiders too now, but. So, Jordan, why don't you kick us off since you're next to me here. Hi, folks. I'm Jordan, also known as Phoenix Survival. I am a fiber enthusiast, a homesteader, and I will tell you the mistakes I'm making to try to keep you from making the same one. I love it. All right, Dave Jones, you're up. I'm Dave Jones, the NBC guy, nuclear, biological, chemical warfare. Right now, I'm Well, I used to be a history teacher, and now I'm a game designer. So I'm designing this game called History Draw. We'll talk about it because we played it at Prepper Camp for the very first time. And it's interesting. I'm doing so much stuff now that I retired, I can't even list it all. Dave uses this funny word. It's called retired, but he never actually means that word. I don't think he knows the word. That's it. He's not quite got the definition down yet, I don't think. Retired, get busy. That's it, yeah. And not in a good way. All right, Diane, the canning diva, you made the mistake of stumbling into our tangle foot that is PBN, and now you're stuck with us. I'm stuck with my people. That's right. So tell us a little bit about Diane. Diane, the canning diva. That's what I do. I teach food preservation, primarily canning at the forefront. But yeah, you want to learn dehydrating, freeze drying, proper dry storage methods. I taught preserving for your pets at Prepper Camp. That was a hoot. Had a lot of fun. And also heritage skills. So, you know, making stuff from scratch like we used to. And a lot of people are getting back to that now. So. I'm leading, leading the charge. All right. And then we got the one and only Keith, the common sense practical prepper with us tonight. Keith, how you doing? Tell us a little bit about the show and what you do. Yeah. Thanks for having me all. Um, yeah, Keith, I got a podcast common sense, practical prepper. I am a retired police officer retired 10 years ago, and I'm currently working with a tech company and to kick us off. Um, Prepper Camp 2025 was my first Prepper Camp as a participant. And this past Prepper Camp 26 was my first time as a presenter. I taught run, hide, fight, surviving an active shooter or active threat. Awesome class, for sure. I'm looking at the group and what I'm thinking about is like we could, we'd have a good chance of kickstarting humanity with this core group here, I think. Absolutely. We could pull it off, I think, here. That's a TV show for you right there. So, you know, I don't know about you guys, but the whole thing kind of, the reality of Prepper Cam 2026 kind of set in for me when I got the message and signal from Chin when he said, it's ungodly hot and there's nowhere to run down here at the camp. It really wasn't until that moment that I was kind of like, oh, the heat is also invited. Right. To Prepper Camp 2026. And, you know, the event was great. It was, it was, it was a great event for sure. But the heat certainly stole the show, at least to some degree. Right. My favorite is still seeing Porkchop in the lake. He couldn't take it no more. He was like, he was swimming. I missed that. Oh yeah. Did you take pictures? Oh, he went swimming. Tried to get me to go in. I'm like, I'm working. I don't know how they did that. Trust me, I wanted to. I wanted to. I don't know how they cooked the food on that Barrel's grill. Oh, I think that's why he did it, right? It was probably for his life and limb at that point. Day three? Day three for sure. So what did you guys think of... Maybe everybody's going to watch it that went to Prepper Camp is going to know it was hot as hell. But what did you guys think of. The location itself in terms of like, you know, the layout of the tent. Like, let's imagine it was, it was a end of September prepper camp like normal. You know what I mean? You're waking up and it's like 63, 65. And at the hottest point it's 80 maybe. But imagine that prepper camp at try on, how did you like the layout of everything in terms of tents and tables and all that kind of thing? Because it did, to me, it seemed a little bit, a little better being so much closer together. I did like the accessibility between the market and the classrooms versus the spread on Orchard Lake. Even though every time I left Orchard Lake, though, I had amazing calves in my mind. After all that. Good point. I think like any new campground, it came with its it's a little hiccups and I think Diane and I figured out what we're doing for next year. You got that planned already? You're already wrangled into it too. So you don't have to story. You're in whether you wanted it or not. We've got the plan. Yeah. The problem is that he knows that if I tell him, Oh, you're already included. He's like, all right, I just got to follow. I'd be surprised if I wasn't, to be honest with you. I liked it. Oh, go ahead. No, I was going to say, sorry. No. Well, it was definitely different. I mean, your car couldn't park behind your thing, you know, where you were set up. And then there was this little teeny space where you could park your car. And I think Kenny needs to take a chill pill, you know, on that. You can't drive over there. I'm just moving out of the way for this guy. You know, I'm not parking. Relax, Kenny. I'm not parking. I know Tryon put in some strict rules because it is a horse competitor grass. And so that was our new challenge of figuring that out, being that Tryon set some hard limitations if. We wanted to be able to come back, from my understanding. Yeah, Keith found out what type of grass that was. What was it? Japanese clover. Where is it? Useless piece of information today. At prepper camp, we get there and I'm like, man, couldn't somebody just like get a mower or something and just mow this down? And like three hours later, this guy from out of the blue never met the man. He goes, that's Japanese clover. And then he goes, and that's why you didn't mow it. He goes, step on it. It's nice and soft. So he's like, it goes in his big lawn. You don't even know the guy. The whole weekend I was barefoot. He's like jumping out of a movie. That's what that is. I'm going to plant a bunch of Japanese clover. Don't drive on it. Don't drive on it. If we could get a loop around, we'd have been in better shape. When I first toured the place, we walked all the way around and out the other end. I don't know if a car could have went that way or not, but that would have been better in terms of the vendor situation. I think for a visitor, though, a camp visitor, I think the layout was better than Orchard Lake. I like the fact that it was a straight shot and that the tents were kind of connected to the... Tents connected... Well, really, the shopping center was kind of between, right? We were kind of sandwiched between, which... It really was nice because it kind of forced people to walk through. Yeah. I don't know what the experience was like, and neither do you guys, do you? Nobody here was in Tent City, were you? Oh, dear. Oh, Lord, no. No. I don't know what that was like. Was that over in the International Center? No. So it was one over, I thought, over by the actual creek itself. Well, it was supposed to be there, and I think that might have been a little cooler. Too flooded or something. Yeah, there was some standing water. So they wound up moving it right to the main entrance. Yep. But it was near a bathhouse, so that was good. But it was basically just a big old... It was a big old open. Big parking lot or something, right? Yeah, right next to the RV park. Yeah. So I didn't hear... I mean, did you guys hear anybody... at prepper camp say we're in Kenton city and it's absolutely ridiculous. Cause I didn't really hear many complaints. I think in the pack we've heard that. Yeah. Which is, which is strange, right? Because, well, I don't know though. Cause I remember 2019 was pretty rough year or 2020. I can't remember with the rain and there wasn't a lot of prepper campers don't complain very much. No, I didn't hear any complaints really. They don't complain a lot. Like they were. Yeah. Yeah. They were physically, yeah, they were visibly hot and sweaty and all that kind of stuff. But I think they were kind of like, you know, I came, so, um. I heard more compliments on the layout too, because they liked having us in the center because it made it easier for them to find us after classes, you know? Yeah. I like that. I like that layout. That was a good one. Um, so what, uh, Where do we go from here? I guess we should talk about day one. We get there, we set up. You guys were there. Who got there earliest? You were there. Jordan probably first. And I was second. Cause when I got there, she was already gone getting the second load. Like you already had the tent up. Yeah. I was there pretty, pretty late to myself. Keith, you were there the first day though, right? You were there. Yeah. You were there Thursday. Yeah. I checked into hotel about two came down. That's right. That's right. I came to your hotel. Because I thought I booked the hotel, too. Apparently, I did. Yeah, you said you were staying. He goes, I'm in the Mountain Lodge or whatever. Then, like, the next day, I'm like, where were you? Like, I'm at the Saddle Horse Inn or whatever it's called. It was something weird like that. It was cool. I was in there. I was right next to the Hathaways. Literally, like, they were, like, one door or two doors down. I couldn't remember. But, yeah, we got in that first day, and it felt like... It felt pretty warm that first day. I don't know what day was the hottest, but it felt pretty warm that first night. I think Sunday was because we didn't get the reprieve. We had some rain throughout, and it kind of cooled it off a little bit. Oh, that's right. Sunday, we didn't get any of that. Thursday was rough, too. From what one of the kids were saying, Saturday was like 102 with 120 heat index. I heard Sunday was 111. I think it was better to not look at the weather. I knew I'd felt worse if I looked at the temperature, so I didn't look. Yeah, I was telling people, I've been to Saudi Arabia, and it's pretty hot there, but I don't know about this. It was like a sauna. But you know what, though? Going as a, having our booths up was seeing the other booths that other people had and what they did and what was working to keep it cool. And it's like, oh, I like that idea. There was a lot of cool setups. I had the ceiling fan, which we're going to get a second one. It doesn't matter what time of the year. It was amazing. That was great. Yeah. What I really liked the most, I think, was the, I think it was a DeWalt. I think it was a DeWalt fan that was stuck in an ice bucket. Oh, yeah. That missed out. Yeah, that was sweet. I almost ordered one of those to have a mister, and I just came up to, I just didn't have enough time to be able to get one for the event. They have them on clearance right now at Costco. Oh, there you go. The international shop. Do you want to loan out your Costco membership? Because I don't have one. Yeah. Yeah, they're like, what did I see it? $ 39, I think. And it's the bucket and the fan and everything. And it's rechargeable. Yeah, the whole shebang. But yeah, I'm going to call Costco the international marketplace. Because there are more languages spoken there than at the UN. I'm telling you. I may have to bring you some money, Dave. Yeah. Yeah, they were cool. That was cool. I kept thinking it'd probably be better if you could stick the fan in a cooler closed and then really get some staying power out of that ice because I don't know how long that ice lasted out in that heat. It was so hot. I had the box fan going in my booth just to keep the air circulating in. I had a fan up above. Mm-hmm. I feel like we just blew the hot air around. So I like the mister idea. Maybe try that next year. So this is probably the most embarrassing thing to admit for the guys here on tonight's show. We were sleeping in air-conditioned beds, hotels, motels, and the ladies were doing the real prepper camp thing. Yeah, we were intense. You guys were doing it for real. Okay, in my defense... I brought the family, so they were not going to stay. So you get a pass on that one. You get a pass on that one. I have no defense. I would have been in the Hobbit Hotel that I have, that trailer, and I would have been sleeping there. I probably would have slept the first night and then been like, well, it's been fun. I'm getting a room somewhere, though. No. I think we did pretty good, but we didn't use that to get in that tent, though, until the sun was completely gone. And then it got cold. Really? Thursday night we were freezing. We were freezing, and I was so thankful I had brought my four-season sleeping bag, because I was freezing. Did you guys go to bed wet? Were you sweaty when you went to bed? Clothes were wet? No. It probably has to do with being so hot during the day, but I think it just got really cool at night. Yeah, the temperature dropped right next to that pond. Yeah, that's a good point. It was nice. Now, I can't say that for Saturday night, and I think what helped is staying up, but it did cool off again. There was dew on everything. Was it? Okay. I mean, we just knew you could. And then you got to get the heck out of there before the sun comes up, too. So we were up at 5 a.m. Getting out of the tent. The pop-up gutters were a saving grace for my boo. Yeah, they were sweet. They were definitely sweet. They were smart. And then I kept ruining them. You should have charged people to get under them when you dumped them. Five bucks and we'll dump the gutter on your head. Cool you off. Yeah, seriously. It was a lot of fun. It really was, despite the heat. And how, I mean, everyone was, they were troopers. You know, they'd sit down and take a break in our booths. We'd all, you know, talk. Yeah. I put the one chair that I had. It was like a loveseat chair. Oh, yeah. Oh, my God, yes. Yeah, and I said, come on over. Come on, take a break. And people would come over, sit down. We'd chat for a little bit. And, boy, you know, that's something. They should have had like a break tent. A resting area. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Especially with me. That's a good idea for next year. Right? Now I'm over here like. I'm writing this down. Yeah, because I kept telling people, come stand under the ceiling fan because it was just enough circulation of air. And then telling people, hey, if you need ice, feel free to get in our cooler. We don't care. Oh, yeah. Yeah. If we if we if I don't think it will. I mean, how many of you guys think it will be in August next year? No, I think it's October from what he was saying. Yeah, Rick was saying that. He can't do August because they've got some sort of big event. That's when they have some of the horse stuff going on. Yeah, that's good. I feel like he was rolling the dice. on liability with that. I think on this one though i even said at the meeting that if it didn't happen in july it wasn't gonna happen at all this year that try on gave that was the only option because he he was even saying when he was standing up there i don't want to do the heat. Yeah i guess it did pretty well for try on you think i mean i know there were a lot of people in hotels a lot of people in motels oh yeah i did know a guy in the RV see I don't think they made bad on this deal because they probably paid anyway but um the uh Brian Burt from Be Prepared Solutions invited me up to his RV and he said this whole place was full day one and then most people pulled out after day one of the RV thing so I don't know yeah That could have been, yeah. But I guess for Tryon, they probably don't care. They got the money for the RV spot, right? Anyhow. Oh, yeah. You know, that's going to be part of the season. Yeah, you pay for the weekend. Yeah. I still feel like everyone showed up even day two. It was like getting a little less after the morning on day three is when we really started. Sunday blew my mind. Sunday absolutely blew my mind. If I woke up and if we did Sunday and saw 10 people, I wouldn't even have been surprised. Right. I would have been like, oh, yeah. So I was impressed. Now, I don't want to, you know, skew the information. So what did you guys experience on Sunday? Because my Sunday was not typical. Okay. I mean, there was a lot of foot traffic. My class was pretty full. My class at nine was probably about 60, 55 or 60, a little less than Saturday, but still a good turnout. Yeah, me too in the morning. Mine was one. Well, mine's the same time as yours, right, Diane? One of yours. We did 1.30. Yeah, we had the same time. Yeah, 1.30. So I have to admit, I was delusional because I got heat exhaustion and fell out. So I didn't have a Sunday. I spent it in the hospital. No Sunday class. Yeah, that was scary. You're a trooper. It was. I was trying, though. I woke up. I thought I could make it, and then the heat hit again, and I was just down for the count. I was struggling, and then it was right at my class. I'm like, I got to. Make my class. I was so sad. But I slept. Once we left the hospital, I probably slept until 9 a.m. The next day. The baby and I both, we just slept the entire time. I couldn't get up. Yeah. But see, well, if your class was in the afternoon, that did get, like you, Dave, like I noticed instead of having a packed house, I think I had maybe 16 to 20 people. In that last afternoon. But I kind of expected it because I noticed it started clearing up after lunch. Like it got real. quiet. Yeah, that's what I figured. Actually, I figured it would be dead the whole day. I didn't think any part of the day would be busy. I was surprised that there was so much foot traffic to begin with on Sunday. But there was more classes this year, too, though. Well, that's a good point. Yeah, spread the people out even more. And unfortunately, it was so hot. I wanted to take classes this year. I even had a lineup of the classes we wanted to take. And just with it being so hot, I couldn't focus beyond what we were doing in our area. It might be the first prepper camp I ever went to where I didn't take a single class. I think this is my third year to not take a single class. I usually always sneak at least one in. Even last year when I was really, really pretty busy, I still snuck the car combat or whatever that carries class in because his classes are always the best, man. But this year, nothing. No, I did do a bunch of interviews, though, and that was fun. That was good. And everybody was really cool. I was a little nervous. It was day two, and I was like, I'm going to go impede and hop into tents and start asking people to do, you know, like a 15-minute interview. And I was thinking they were going to be like, you know, all hot and grumpy. Like, no, I'm not doing that. I'm trying to sell something here so I can break even and get out of here. But everybody was cool. The vendors, the vendors are definitely cool. What'd you guys do at post post prepper camp each day to sort of recover? Was there any recovery protocol for you? Were you like in the hydration drinks or just drinking water or? Tequila or? No, that was Saturday from a birthday. No, I totally, I make my own hydration drink because I get tired of, you know, you spend all that money on liquid IVs. So, I mean, as soon as I got back to the hotel, oh yeah, I have a big jar of it. I brought some with me. I hydrated, I ate, I showered, I slept. And then my drive home, I just drank a huge half gallon of it. And, you know, the scary part is, No one was going to the bathroom. Like I think once a day. Yeah. I found out I ended up. Yeah. I found out I, even though I was trying to intake fluid to a high level, I already have a kidney issue. And then finding out while I'm going through IV, Hey, you actually have a kidney infection. Your kidneys are not processing anything. Lovely. Because I may be peed twice the entire time. Yeah. How much food I was taking in. Yeah. I got excited on Tuesday when I got back home. I'm like, oh, I'm going to the bathroom again. Like my body was finally like, but it took me a whole day of, well, drink. Oh, this is going to sound bad. I don't mean to say it that way. Drinking my hydration drink and dry. We know what you mean. No one cares. Drinking and dry. It took a while. But I had the perfect catalyst because literally Thursday morning as I was loading the tables into my car to head out to try on, a freaking murder hornet caught me. Oh, I forgot about that. Yeah, there was a bunch of bites. And my skin has still not fully healed in that area. It's still discolored in that mass across my entire ankle. But it left a hole that it started immediately bleeding that I couldn't put my foot down. I've never experienced pain like that, that I couldn't walk on my foot for a good few moments after the sting. And then, you know, Christopher was trying to rush me in the house. He was like, hey, get inside, get inside. And I get inside. I'm like, I don't have anything for the sting. All the plantains outside in the yard. And I was hobbling. Down the hill to get to the plantain to start pulsing it, to put it on there. Yeah, I remember pulling up and you were limping. Yes, and I ended up being barefooted because my ankles swelled so bad. I had no cankle. My foot was swollen. And my leg was, like, huge and then just discolored in this large mass that kept spreading around my entire leg. So I had the perfect catalyst. Of freaking murder hornet venom in my body on top of heat exhaustion. And just everything just took me out. My kidneys just couldn't handle it. You were beat down for sure. You know, Chris, I think it was Chris, Christian got stung by something. I got attacked by ants behind a tent. Oh, there's that real fire ant? Yeah, I got that. I stepped right in that doing a show. I didn't even know it was there. I'm just sitting there getting bit, and I look down, and I'm on top of an ant nest. Like, oh, great. That's good. Yeah, there was a lot of little nippers out there. What about you guys? How did you do? Did it take you a few days? Yeah, with the hydration and the recovery. No, not really. I went to work. I had to be at work 8 o'clock on Monday morning. I went to work. I'm not going to say a lot of work was done. I may have left early. But no, it wasn't too bad. It wasn't too bad. I didn't have to do anything special. Just drink as much water as I could. Nice. I didn't get back to feeling normal until Thursday. I was like, whoa, in a daze. And I was pounding the water and trying to, you know, get equilibrium in my electrolytes, and it was. Yeah, mine, I think, my thing with mine is I was trying to get my fluids up, but because I knew what was going on with my body, it was trying to get everything else up, so eating more protein, trying to get my system back in order to, I mean, not to be grotesque, but we see all those survivalist shows where people are out in the the wilderness and they don't have a bowel movement. It's like, you don't realize this takes a toll. On your body that if you're not peeing or processing correctly, you are going to be struggling. For sure. That's why I wanted to thank Sarah. Sarah brought pickles from there. Yeah. I was on the Sarah pickle. She gave me a. Jar and I was like, Do you mind if I have a sip of the juice? And Brock's like, yeah, go right ahead. So I just, I chugged it and I didn't want to stop. I drank every drop of juice out of there just to help give me what I needed to just function. I ate them every night. I had one in my fridge because they gave me a jar at the motel. And every night I'd come in and eat some and drink some of that. And then the Joneses gave me some, what's that stuff you gave me called? the pills, the electrolyte pills. Oh, yeah. Pediametallite. Pediametallite. One of them. It's metalite because after Jones had said that one like, oh my god, eight years ago, I bought a case of them and I was just keeping those on me and then handing them out like crazy when I was working in construction as a good backup. Yeah, they're really good. That's a good call. Yeah, that helped. You started to. Get that dehydration headache a little bit and you just pop one of them and it goes right away Yeah. All those little things added up, all those little extras. Keith, did you do anything hydration-wise during the event other than just water? Did you go water the whole thing? Yep, water the whole time. I took the electrolyte pills, too, the one you were just talking about. Oh, okay. Yeah. I took some. But no, just water. You're being a badass. I know. I'm sitting here. Keith's thinking like, man, these guys are all dead. I'm glad to see that you're on here and that we didn't scare you away because absolutely. No, no, no. I don't scare easily. I don't scare easily. I think he's the champion at history draw, though. He pulled Eddie Murphy. Audie Murphy. But by the time the day ended and then I realized where y'all were at, it was just so hot and trying to get the baby down for sleep. It was like, oh, how we just, like, next year. We had a couple people just walking by and they joined in. Oh, that's awesome. Yeah, it was pretty good. I could definitely see that game expanding well beyond just history. You know, I think that could be really fun. It's awesome. People are going to love it. No doubt about it. So what are we thinking? Fall for next year? I think so. Yeah. Something like that. Absolutely. I think what will be funny, though, is like he had said at the Saturday night meeting was, oh, well, you'll have to compete with the leafers. So the leafers are the people who love to come see the leaves change in the fall. Oh, yeah. Yeah. But usually. October is big because there's a lot of Halloween stuff going on down at Tryon. But then November around Thanksgiving is really crazy with the leafers because that's when everything starts to change. And you have, like, just two weekends that you can get the right view where everything's this perfect mix before it. All just dies. Yeah, that makes sense. I guess we maybe should consider it. Once we get the date, we'll consider this further. But we should probably consider the costumes later. If we're close to Halloween. If we're close to Halloween? Maybe a prep or camp trick or treat. You know, I was glad to see that we still had people come. For the tinfoil competition. Yeah, yeah, tinfoil. I was so worried with the change, and it wasn't announced like before that we. Wouldn't get anyone. Yeah, that was definitely a highlight worth mentioning. Little Christian doing his, well, I shouldn't call him little anymore. He's so cute. Christian doing his... tinfoil Trump impression. He really took that thing to the bank up there. My little baby's getting so big and it was Fletcher who got. Sung that first time. That's right. You're right. Sorry, when you said the name, I'm like, wait a second, that didn't sound right. Honestly, I couldn't remember because they were both so tired by the end. They were just like... And the Hathaways gave them the... I think they gave them Saturday off. Or something like that. That's good. They were just chilling in the hotel room Yeah, the first night, I was really excited. I got into the room after set up and everything, and Starship Troopers was on. It's one of our favorite movies, and that's actually what Jericho's nickname is, is Rico. Oh, that's funny. So we call him Rico from that, because that is actually Christopher's favorite actor and character. It's a good movie. I forgot how fun that movie was. I'm sitting there watching it like, wow, man. Hello from Brazil. Oh, we got some people in from Brazil. Yeah, I pulled up my Instagram so I could keep an eye on it from the side. I appreciate it. So everybody made it to the Saturday festivities, right? Yep. Yeah, the crowd wasn't as big, but it was so hot. I figured once people got into their cabins and campers, they just fell out. And that's fair. I would fall out, too. Oh, there it is. Oh, you know what? It's dissolving. You got to put your hand up just a little bit behind. There you go. There you go. I don't know how to upload this thing. I love mine. We got to see EJ Snyder drink toilet water out of the glass. Yeah. I could have done without that. I love EJ. He is ballsy as hell. I need a message. I'm like, dude. Yeah. I was wondering what was going on when Rick pulled this up. And there he is at a toilet. And he says, don't you hate it when people don't flush? And he just scoops this water out. And we're like, what is this? Little did we know. When I'm talking to him, he goes, yeah, that wasn't actually my pee either. And I'm just like, EJ. Oh, EJ. It would have been slightly better if you drank your own pee. Slightly. Slightly. Would it have been out of a public toilet? Yeah, that's a lot of confidence. Yes, but I love my Geopress. Yeah, there it is. Prepper Camp 2026, man. Yeah, I love mine. It was a great gift. I never expected that. Although Brian was teasing me. Yeah, this is one of the better things we've gotten. I've already broke my saw. Did you? I haven't used it. Yeah. I haven't used it. I'm thinking about hanging it on the wall here or something. Which one? You might as well. Oh, I've used it. I've used it. I've used it. It just doesn't work anymore. It still works for us. We just know not to use it past a certain capacity. Well, I gave it to Ruby and she's using it like this. No. Jane is struggling. I hope she's not listening. The axe was a good year. I had a fun time. The binoculars were good. Yeah, they were good. I gave the grail to my son already. I was like, man, take this thing. Yeah, I'd fight my kids over that one. I'm keeping that one. We had, what was it, like a machete one year, didn't we? Or a knife? Didn't we get a machete one year? I can't remember. We did get a knife and we thought Ryan might get a knife and get, you know, busted by the TSA. Oh, yeah. That was the year they gave binoculars and we're like, whew. Yeah. Yeah. I always wanted Ryan to, I guess it's a good thing he didn't listen to me, but I always wanted him to bury a cash there. Every year I'd be like, dude, let's go find a good spot where you can bury your knives and whatever else. Go out and buy the things that you can't get through TSA and just bury a little cash at Orchard Lake. Little did I know. We had one outgrown Orchard Lake years ahead of this show. Yeah, I think so too. Yeah, the parking lot was crazy at Orchard Lake, man. The parking lot would be packed. We just never, I never felt it because I never left. I think it was thankful we were there for Helene. But after that, I was like, yeah, we were already packed at By Bench. It was a great spot. I mean, a lot of great memories there, man. A lot of business dealings done at the old Orchard Lake, you know. Not for the PBN side of things. New hosts and that kind of stuff. Now we just have to figure out the logistics for the group to completely hang out. Saturday night was great. To have the ceiling fan to hang out around the booth. But next time we need your little bug mesher as our center area with the ceiling fan. Oh, I'm not going to have that. That thing's going back to Walmart. Oh, I think we lost. No, he's safe. Yeah, Elon Musk is jamming my signal. I'm using the. Same internet, so. Elon Musk is jamming. Good for me. Well, I have a 14-year-old up killing zombies or something. I've got a grown man gaming in there, too. Here's a question. Do they turn... You might know, Diane, because you were doing a class there. You know how at night they leave the tent lights on some nights? Do they leave the tent lights on in any other tent but the big tent on Saturday? Not to my knowledge. No, I think it's just the big tent. It's the big tent. Maybe what we could think about. Doing is go in the big tent. Well, we can't on Saturday. That's the problem because we all dip out on the speaker. Because they're there so late. Yeah. But we could light up a tent. I've got those lights. I was supposed to hang them in Mile and I, and I didn't. I could just. That might be something to do. We could definitely bring lights. I actually thought about getting one of the tents kind of like Dave had with the full tent. full netting around it that we used last year. Yeah. Cause of the yellow jacket. And I was like, Oh, we should have, I wanted to get one like Dave has. So then we could use that as our little hangout eaten area and have the netting to keep the insects out. That's a good idea. I'm thinking of a place where we could all go and, and do the podcast and all that kind of stuff. Cause we don't have a. That or someone gets a big cabin. Well, I mean, that's doable too. That's doable, too. I don't know, though. I feel like everybody kind of wants to. For space next year and then and then put it right in between everybody else i'll bring the extra canopy and yeah speaking of bugs i saw something crawling around i couldn't even identify it looked like a worm with wings and it had like six legs and i'm like what the heck is. This thing we have a lot of here Oh. It probably was a mayfly, was it? It was probably a mayfly, yeah. There were definitely mayflies on mine, on my tent. So Christopher had never seen the big mosquitoes, and he's like, yeah, he goes, all of a sudden I smacked somebody, he goes, and it was ginormous, and I realized it was mosquitoes. Like, welcome to the Arkansas state bird in North Carolina. Oh, my gosh. He just said a little one tear, and I was like, yeah. I was like, back home, the mosquitoes get ginormous like they were down there, so. Donating blood. No, I had more deep on me than I should admit. What did you guys, what sold the most at Prepper Camp 2026? I mean, you guys had the fans, Jordan. Chicken purses. Oh, you sold them chicken purses. Yeah, that's right. I did have the things, but we weren't selling the fans to really make money. I know they went up towards the end because we only had like a few left. Yeah. That was cool though that was. A great idea I actually had a lot of people tell me I was way under selling those fans and I was like I just didn't want people to fall out you could. Have been ruthless you could have definitely. Been ruthless but yeah the chicken purses did great. I think I had three purses left after the whole. Thing that's great they. Loved them mesh did not sell that well this year Well, Maria. Put up a sign on Sunday. It said, a dab of jock itch cream, $ 10. Her spot. Her spot. She put it per thigh. Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I didn't even see that. That's hilarious. Yes, I was falling. Out laughing when she did that. I was like, oh, my God, Maria, I love you. Yeah. She was watching everybody go up and down and she says, Oh. Just itching away. She said, she came and she goes, you see my sign. And I'm just like, I did. You're killing me, Marie. Oh my gosh. I did not see that. That's crazy. I was afraid I may have upset her at first because you know, American humor is a lot more lax than, than Romanian humor. because I forgot, oh, she brought the Hot Pockets, and I told Dave, I was like, man, I could kiss her if I didn't think she'd punch me, and I told her that, she goes, no, no, no kiss needed, no kiss needed, and I'm like, I. Oh, speaking of food, we should probably talk about Diane's amazing... Oh, my God. She had... No, no, no, you missed out. No, you had some of what Christian couldn't finish, and I had, like, several servings. It was Oh, the beef barbacoa. So, yeah. That was good, too. Yeah, that was good, too. But then the corned. Beef hash Saturday night. The birthday corned beef hash. I need that recipe. Oh, wait. It's in the book. I have it. It's in the book. Yep, yep. No, I appreciate that. It was fun. The only thing we didn't get to finish, we didn't do the– I brought chicken fajitas. But that was our other problem. By the time you really could eat, you're going, do I fall asleep now or do I eat? I'm serious, right? I'm still bummed I didn't get any of my freaking rabbit man. I'm so pissed. Oh, that's right. I forgot. It was over at James's. That's right. Oh, they had a rabbit? No, we brought a rabbit. They were going to cook it for us and they cooked it. But then we found out the fortune guy was just like struggling. So they gave him half the rabbit, which was fine. But I was promised the other half of rabbit with breakfast omelets. And I was like, and never got it. I was told, Oh yeah, no, it's not happening. I'm like, where the hell's my rabbit? I want my rabbit. Yeah. There was something about that salty, It wasn't really greasy, but it had something like that. Well, you know what it was? I didn't tell anybody, but I used like a stick of butter in the bottom of that pan when I reheated. Nobody's upset about that. And the fact that. You put eggs. Eggs with it. Yeah, then we put the eggs on top. That was great. That meal was like, I felt like that's what we should have been eating every night. You know what I mean? Because I felt like that was giving me something good. Well, and we know normally on Friday nights, I make my skilt potatoes. But it was those years where I just couldn't get everything together in such a short period. I'm used to having a whole extra month. Who the hell's building a. Fire in that? Yes. Those are some of the things I do miss. Like I liked the fact that we would all be able to hang out together after a long day. Yeah, that's the best. Instead of everyone heading to a hotel or. Heading to a- And we flew out of there. I mean, at least I did. I know Dave did. Keith, I think you were out of there pretty quick too. I miss that camaraderie. So I hope we can do that in the fall because the bonfires were fun, the laughter and just all being able to reminisce about our day or poking fun at each other. Like that's, yeah. I'm glad we got to be together Saturday for a little bit though. That was good. Yeah, that was good. Yeah, that was a legitimate thing, though, in my mind. I was like, I want to get back in the shower. Basket is always a thing. So it's like, you don't have an option. I will hold you down. You're not. That's what I look forward to. You know what I mean? I'm glad I got to experience it. Wait, wait. I'm on it. Yes. I mean, without that, it's, I mean, yes, we're there, right, for all the attendees. It's our job to educate them, to make them feel right. But you guys, we're, this is my people. Like, go away. I want to hang out with you guys, you know? Yeah, we need a big triumphant couple nights next year for sure. Yeah, because I live so remote. And, like, the only time I get to see all of this or when I call James, hey, man, what are you doing? I'm working. Well, too bad. You got to talk to me for a minute. Well, you know what we got to do? We got to do, like, a bug out mock up. Yeah. You know what I mean? Like, because the bulk of, Diane, where are you? If you want to divulge, where are you at? I'm in Southwest Florida. But we're working on trying to get her up here. It got around camp like wildfire. I was having random people, which I loved, coming up to me going, oh, I've got property for sale. I've got emails for people. Yeah. So it'll happen. I just don't know when. Well, we're in close enough proximity, a big enough group of us that I feel like, you know, something like that we could pull off. I would love it. We might even be able to crash Chin's property. Yes. You know what I mean? Absolutely. Let's do it. Chin's going to be like, wait, we're going to start getting a message. Here in a minute. Well, when I was coming, when I was going to the tour try on, he was like, if you want to bunk in the RV, you're more than welcome to. so i don't know he wasn't too you know yeah but there's all kinds of places we can meet up. I would love to like refresh some of the skills it would be okay we'd even written an airbnb out this way a big oh. One and that's a good call most of them have. Fire pits in the yard and everything. Oh come on i was thinking about primitive camping let's go. Yeah but we could probably get away with both You know what I mean? We probably could. But still have the Airbnb. Yeah. We'll just be in the backyard. In a subdivision somewhere. Actually, so Diane, the primitive camping is part of the girls trip that we've been planning. I was telling you about. Yes, we have. I know. I know. Cause so there's been talk between me to Diane and then trying to talk to Willow and Jasmine about, and trying to get a whole girl's primitive camping trip so we can practice our skills with each other. Yeah. Tell us where it's at and we'll come attack it in the middle of the night. I might be able to sell chicken. With two of the women who are always carrying at any point in time. You know, Willow and I won't hesitate to pull a trigger. I wouldn't recommend trying to surprise us. We'll just tell everybody to carry airsoft. We'll come in with airsoft. You guys fire back the airsoft. No, no, no. I got a better idea. Then we all do this, guys camp, girl camp, and we do like a capture the flag like we used to do back in the day. That would make it fun. Now it's a competition. That would be cool. Reopen old injuries. Let's go. Ready. Yeah. No, but in all honesty, we do. We probably need at least one other thing per year. Oh, I agree. One other excuse to get together and hang out. Well, I mean, if camp ends up being in October– Next year, then we need to do something early in spring and then have a two-year spring and fall. Yeah, that would be nice. That would be cool. Both great seasons. The starving spring and the big harvest fall. That would be good. Yeah. That would be fun. Prepper camp in the fall would be amazing. I kind of like having September off, I'm going to be honest. We have to force Ben. In next year. Oh, them dudes definitely got to come. I know. I've been riding his butt about it, too. He's like, dude, come on. You have to come to camp. You have to. I guess, I mean, I guess. What are the logistics with future Dan? Could he come to prepper camp? Yeah, but it. Was always during his busiest time at work. And he just couldn't take off. But now, since it's, you know, going to be pushed to October, he might be free. Yeah, it'd be great to have them. Yeah, and I think Ben had something going on with his family, so he couldn't fish here. They would have a ball, man. They would have a blast. I mean, I could see that. They should have a booth. They should have a PPH booth there. Could be doing their thing. Yeah. I love those reports that he's printing out. They're so cool, those. Yeah. They're amazing, man. I guess I missed it. Yeah, I was going to say, what reports? What is, yeah. Oh, they're doing– I might have one. Do I have one downloaded? I could show it off. Do I need a message? I'm going to be like, where the hell is my report, man? You know what? They might be– well, they're on the show, but they might be– he might only post them up in the Azure Force chat. It's like the little Virginia Preppers chat, I guess. It really, really what it is. It's the Appalachian preppers chat. And I think they just let me in because I'm. In the lower foothills of the Appalachian. I don't have one. I could have swore. I just downloaded the one cause I was going to share it. Let me see. Oh, hey darling. It's like an awesome infographic type deal with the debt and the, It's all kinds of financial stuff. Yeah, that's cool, though. It's great fodder for the PPH guys, man. So what do we add going forward to PBN? I mean, not to PBN, to Prepper Camp. Or is there something to add? I think this year was one of those years it sucks not having our entire group there. Understandably, though, what was going on in everyone's lives, I think it also was probably a good thing. is like love Ryan and Colin, but just with the heat, I think that would have just been too much on them as well. And then. Yeah. That humidity out West. I don't know. Um, but I think it will be great to have the whole group. I think that also changes the dynamics, like having Ryan and Doug and everybody else kind of ties us together more. Yeah. It's hard with, without, uh, Without Doug around and Ryan. Really, Ryan and Colin, because they were there from the get-go. Yes. I know, you know, you've got. To believe it. You know, Christopher jokes that Doug and Ryan are his, like, ultimate prepper crushes because they are manly and super skill set. So he was upset. I had to tell him, I was like, you know, Christopher's upset that his prepper boyfriends aren't here this year. And he was like, all right, give them a hug from me. Well, you should have just said, you know what? He was all sweaty and unkempt. So here's to a better year. Here's to a better year. Yeah, I don't know. We do the podcast. We do. What else would be of value? Maybe we do just have it dialed in. You know what I mean? I guess in fall we should consider. Joe Ray could ask if you were knitting something and is it why he shaved the beard he's asking if I'm spinning you up wool with your beard she's making one. Of those fake beards no when I got I shaved immediately when I got back and I was like yeah because I was like I have to cool down and then of. Course you look freaking 12 years younger. Well see that's what my kids said my kids were like You look like you went in a time machine, Dad. Well, I guess I'll do that for a little while then. Yeah, for me, I have to color because it's like I'm going really, really gray all through here. It's like, hmm. Yeah, I don't play around. I'm just going gray. That's it. I shaved it off one time, and I came out of the bathroom, and Marie said, what did you do? I said, well, I'm playing Indiana Jones. I can't have a beard. You broke your face. You don't grow back. That's the beauty of it. It'll come back. As a woman, though, we have our preferences. Christopher has it long on top, and I cut it, and I keep it that way. He goes, I'm going to shave it. I'm like, why? Don't. I like it. Don't. You guys can grow back fast, though. It's the law of diminishing returns. We're going to look like cancer patients for three years before we get a few sprigs coming back. Yeah, our hair goes back crazy. But it's the law of diminishing returns. You guys know that? That the law of diminishing returns, we used to employ it in the fancy restaurant world where we'd give people a bunch of courses of different foods that tasted very differently because it was like the belief system was if you have three bites of a really good thing, it's really good. If you have 10 bites of the same thing, it's kind of like, okay, you know, it's not as good. So, you know, when you don't look as great, then it's kind of, you know, it's that same thing. The girls go, oh, I kind of like him better. And then it comes back. And then it's like, oh, he's back. And if you time that right with the phase and everything, you know, you can really have some fun. Oh, my goodness. I don't know what that has to do with it. I have a joke. I'll save it. No, no, no. It's about shaving. Never mind. Never mind. I'm scared. No, no, no. Yeah, we have to do that one for an after hours one. You need to write it down though, Dave. So we can remember. Just talk about shaving. This is the crew, though, for the variety show. What do you call it? Heritage Skills? The Heritage Skills Variety Show. That was a fun one. I have to cook everything from scratch from my home, so I get that. Well, not just that, but the jokes and the magic tricks. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You'd be a satisfied Amish woman, right? No. Two men a night. Two men a night. Oh, I love it. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. He's perfect. Yeah. You didn't know there was Amish jokes, right? No. Well, if I had to guess, I'd have called you. Yeah. What was your biggest shock with now being wrangled into the PBN family? Oh, yeah. That's a good one. My big, no, I don't know. Nope. No big shock or anything. Um, no, you guys are a lot of fun to hang around. Um, yeah, I annoyed the crap out of you just for my own entertainment. Oh, no, that's all. So what's coming up for you guys. Why don't we do that on our way out the door? How about that? Cause I know Dave, you got games and Diane, you got like seven books. I'm sure you've got to talk about everybody's got a little something going on. Yeah. Yeah. I'll jump in. Yeah, I finished the manuscript for Heritage Skills Handbook in May. I'm editing that now. That'll be out August of 2027. Is that pictures and words? Oh yeah. It's a handbook, so it's meant to be very instructional. So you're going to get soup to nuts, pretty. Much how to make your own butter, your own vanilla, your own Everything, Rendo, your own tallow, soaps, lotions, the whole nine yards. But then I'm working on Food Preservation Academy with our friends over in Romania and. Finishing up scripts for that. Yeah, I'll be filming that hopefully in October this year. And that's planned to launch in spring of 2027. Very nice. Wow. I'm excited. Maybe I can get her on to CBN. You know you always got to rebroadcast at the very least if you. Ever want it right here absolutely. So what else is happening jordan i know you're doing a i've heard that you're thinking about a horse purse instead of a chicken purse oh so i am i was like yeah. No so yes i have had people ask. For um a highland cow. And horse purses as well So that one, but I can't find any patterns. So the horse purse is actually going to be me having to write the full pattern for. It to be that way. So I have to do the math. That'll be fun though. That'll be pretty. It is and it isn't because it's going to be me cussing a lot. I'm like, what the hell. Am I doing? That is the eye in the nose hole. Yeah. But the chicken purses are here to stay. I have to make more. I actually have a custom pattern that I didn't get done in time of little chick coin purses. Coin purses with clips to be able to clip to the big purses. Oh, wow. I just didn't have enough time, though, to get it finished to the standard that I want it done at. Because if I'm going to sell you something, I want it to be to a certain quality. Just put like an A hard-boiled egg in them. Right. So that is the next thing I've been asked for egg carriers. So I'm... That's awesome. No, I mean like the aprons and stuff. So I'm looking at it. I was thinking of a net one, like a crocheted six pack or something like that. Right. I have some crocheted ones and I'm looking at doing between either crocheted or sewing because we both know I do a lot of sewing as much as I do crocheting. Yeah. The only personal thing I'm working on. Jordan sewed the freaking logo into a handkerchief for me one time. It was great. Yes, I embroidered it, and now I'm working also on patches with my embroidery machine, seeing what I can do with that. So I've got a lot of things in the works, but right now my biggest challenge is a Christmas gift for my teenager of an absurdly large dinosaur, which James saw the picture, and it is absurd. Absurd is the right word. Yeah, it is ginormous. It's like kick the bed out of the room and sleep on the dinosaur side. Yeah, I'm on the fence of if I have to build a stabilizing structure for the center of it. It's that big. That's probably a good idea, actually. PVC pipe or something like that? I was thinking PVC, but I may be looking at two by fours. Like an actual four by four for the support and center beam. It's that bad. This stuffed animal's got eyes. I'm envisioning a stuffed bear, like somebody shot, you know, and it's in the living room. Is it going to be like six or eight feet tall? The head's like as big as Jordan. It's bigger than me. I will send you a picture. It's me in just the head with my arms above my head. And it's three times the size of what it was supposed to be because I let my daughter pick out the yarn and everything. And I didn't pre-calculate it before. Letter. Man. So when's the game released, Dave Jones? Well, we're looking for a big update. Yeah, we're looking for a Christmas release so that it can be a Christmas present. Bringing it to the Walton children, I could tell you that much. What's the name of it, Dave? It's called History Draw. You know, like draw. Yeah. And it's person, place, or thing. So this game I came up with when I was a history teacher and I wanted to see where the kids were, how much they knew. So I just three by five cards and did this thing. And after a while, we got into the text and the kids said, hey, can we play that game that you invented? And I thought, well, if they like it that much, maybe other kids would like it. But what I did was, there's going to be a QR code on each card. So it's a person, place or thing in history. And you'll be able to scan that QR code and get like a two minute presentation on that person or place or thing. And it's going to be 150 videos that I got to record me telling you about. And then at the end, there'll be a fun fact. uh, about whatever that was like Abraham Lincoln. Fun fact, Abraham Lincoln was our tallest president at six foot, four inches tall. Jesus. Stuff like that. Nice. Yeah. Yeah. And I'm, I'm figuring. Oh, go ahead, Dave. Okay. I'm, I'm figuring, you know, teachers might do it. Elementary teachers, you know, to, to get a break away from the, uh, The school book. Yeah, that's huge. I think it's also fun for homeschooling. Yeah, homeschooling. Dave, you're going to do a Bible one too, right? Yeah. The initial game is 150 cards and then there's going to be expansion packs. There's going to be an American history, a world history, a Bible version of it, and just on and on. I think release a year until, you know, until it runs out. A good one, man, is sports. Yeah. Sports would be huge. That would be a good one. Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, Keith, what you got going on, man? The Common Sense Practical Prepper over there. Yep. Just the podcast keeping me busy. Trying to do three or four episodes a week now. Oh, wow. Yeah, we just eclipsed 120, we're at 120 20,000 downloads right now. I've been doing about four and a half years, 255 episodes. Yeah. The audience continues to grow. To all my listeners, and I can't thank them enough, 126 countries and 5,418 unique cities the podcast has heard. Nice. Well done, man. Yeah, congratulations. I appreciate that. Yeah, that keeps me busy. That work, the cats that are running around and the chickens in the backyard, it's pretty much... That's enough for anybody, right? Oh, real quick, though. I found something interesting about Keith. He's into bullion and gold and silver like me and Ben are. I purchased some goldbacks just the other day. Oh, sweet. On that silly app. You and I have to talk, Jordan. Say what? I went to a gold ATM. There's two gold ATMs that distribute goldbacks in the city of Richmond. Is it really? Get out. Really? Wow. Where are they at? There was actually one in practice, yes. Wow. When I went into this very sketchy gas station, in the back room, there was a crypto ATM. There was no gold ATM. Wow. I'm going to the gold ATM tomorrow. Wow. Yeah. Dude, I'm about ready to make a road trip. I want to see this thing. Pete, I can't wait to go over with you, like, all of the neat little things that are on them and then show you, like, with a blacklight how amazing they look as all the security features. Like, it is phenomenal. Yeah, I got them from SD Bullion. They just shipped earlier today. Okay. Actually, so, James, you'll have to give Pete my info or if you're on Signal because I have another site where you can get them where it's even more affordable. Oh, yeah, I'm on Signal. Wow. We might as well drag you into PBN. Yes. You should definitely be a part of the Prepper Campers chat too now. That's where the breaking Prepper Camp news comes as we near the event. Are you on that one, Diane? Prepper Campers? No, I just get Rick's emails. We'll get you in there too. That's a bigger group. It's a wider sort of swath of campers that go to Prepper Camp outside of PBN even, but it's a good it starts lighting up around a month or two before. You know what I mean? Oh yeah. All right, folks, I guess if that's it, then that's it. Speak now or forever. Hold your peace. Prepper camp 2026 is in the books and it was a hell of a year or a hell on earth year or however you want to look at it. Something like tough. We survived. Oh yeah. I didn't have any concerns.
