Surviving America 092: What News? Life is Happening!

Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil. The future has already arrived. Lo-Fi Surviving America today. What is up, folks? Don't worry. You're not going to be seeing a whole lot of me. I'm going to shrink down into the corner of this screen for most of the show. So we've got this low budge camera. It's just my laptop camera. I like the... I kind of... I don't know. Are we 2 HD anymore? You know what I mean? Prepping, folks. Prepping used to be for what if. It's now for what is. Steal it, print it, whatever you want to do. Use it, spread the word. You're not hurting my feelings. Hello, Facebook, by the way. We are streaming live on Facebook. I have no idea why. No clue. I wish I could tell you there was strategy involved and, you know, we're going to. What we're going to do is we're going to go live stream on our Facebook page because we haven't done it in a very long time. I don't know. I just got a hair, a wild hair. I've been on Instagram ad nauseum 30 days straight. Dang, why didn't I throw that background up in here? You know what? We're going to do it on live and on air. We're going to throw this new logo up for what's coming in October. I was yelling at Sarah Hathaway. Just kidding. Wouldn't dare yell at Sarah Hathaway. Where is it? Is that videos only? I might have to throw it in another section. Oh, video clips. I got to throw it in backup. Well, we had so much fun with National Preparedness Month, which spawned off of the idea that, you know, Sarah Hathaway at Prepper Camp told us she was doing a 100-day live challenge, 100-day straight go live, right? Build audience, do that thing. I had so much fun with National Preparedness Month. The interactions were great. The audience grew a lot that I said, you know what I mean? Let's keep it going. I was sitting on the couch. I don't know what brought it into my mind, but just something just popped into my head. It was dirt cheap preps and free preps and free stuff and buy nothing. And, you know, it was kind of Lending itself to the struggles that Americans are having at the moment. And I said, you know what? Let's do it. Let's do another 30 days live. So we'll be doing another 30 days live. That is horrible. Let me open it another way. That does it no justice. Plus my big head's in the way. Let me open it another way altogether. Dirt cheap and free preps is the call, okay? And we're going to do live shows every day, 9 a.m. or 9 p.m. Eastern. And it's going to really be all about... There you go. It's really going to be all about that, right? Dirt cheap and free preps. We may be live streaming dirt cheap and free preps in numerous places. I don't know. I've got to look it over. I may make the jump to... I don't know. I don't remember the price. But if we upgrade... our stream yard, we can live stream to unlimited places, but I don't know. You just can't trust anything anymore. You know what I mean? You get into something and it feels like, uh, they might take my head. Should I dare do something like this? You know what I mean? Should I dare upgrade my, you know, you upgrade from, you know, $ 50 a month to, uh, 10, 10,500. But, tonight, the grand finale, Dave Jones, the NBC guy of national preparedness month, right? We blew through this month. This month was, I mean, it was gone and like, you wouldn't even believe just, just out of here. And, uh, 30, it's hard to believe 30 interviews, right? 30 interviews. Amazing. I got a, I have a, like a weekend's worth of clipping. I've got to clip all these interviews. They're great. Amazing interviews. And, uh, Amazing people. Course. Prepping community. The best. Just is. I don't have to tell you. I backed into this thing. I didn't find it. I backed into it. I got lucky. It's all lucky. God's been good to me. I'm trying to return the favor in service anymore because that's all I got for him. It's weird when you want to repay God because there's nothing. The only thing I could think is service and behavior. You know what I mean? And, you know, that's hard enough. Service and behavior is all I got for God. You know, you can get in the word, you can pray and all that. You know, I did the rosary for the first time the other day. And I'm not really Catholic, but I don't really care either. You know what I mean? If it works, it works. But I did the rosary and I was like, this is a thing, man. You know, there's something here. And I think that's all I'm after. Right? That's really all I'm after. Give me some substance here. You know what I mean? I don't want a speech. I don't want a sales pitch. You know? I'm past that point now. You don't got to convince me anymore. If anything, I want service. Right? So, I don't know. It's what it feels like to me. It's what it feels like to me in these crazy times in which we live, folks. But, Like I said, starting, well, to wrap up the show, I mean, to wrap up the National Preparedness Month succession of interviews, 30 interviews, 30 days. I did a couple shows by myself. I probably missed a couple shows, too, so maybe it wasn't 30. Whatever. Dave Jones, the NBC guy, is coming on tonight. He's got a lot going on. We're going to talk with Dave Jones, the NBC guy. At least once a week, you hear about someone who has a microphone in front of their face or a platform of some kind and has no clue. Not just the dates and names of history, but the holistic thing. Do you know what I mean? The holistic thing, like what are we as people? What have we been up to? What are the real atrocities we've committed? What are the real great things we've done? Do you know what I mean? Like all this stuff, it seems like to fall on dead ears. And that's because the basis on which people stand in history is Columbus bad, Civil War bad, America racist. Done. Done. communism just might work if you let me do it. I want to show you something I'm real proud. So tonight, 9 p.m. Eastern. Don't miss it. And look, you know, what can I say? You read those things. You ever read those like posts and stuff? You read these religious, if you're into religious content, you'll read posts and stuff and they'll say like, five years ago you were praying to be in this position or whatever the situation, you know, something along those lines. Reflect, dummy. This is one of those moments, man. This is one of those moments. Dave Jones sends me this picture. For those of you who don't know and for those of you who are listening, it's the bookshelves at Sam's Club. It's the bookshelves at Sam's Club. And there's a book on the left called The Science of Fitness. There's a book on the right called True Facts That Sound Like Baloney. And then the middle is The Ultimate Survival Toolkit by James Wall for sale at Sam's Club. and uh you know i don't i've mentioned it before so i won't go on and on but i just you know in the in doing so many things that the podcast you know we want the podcast to grow we want the audience to grow we really can do uh disney world prepping if we can get this audience to go haywire i mean like literally in all it's in all the best aspects right we really can go hey i mean like forget about prepping documentaries you know forget about finding the next cool prepping TV show. No, I'm talking about like making the next prepping TV show. I'm talking about making the, uh, changing earth movie, right? This is where I want to get to. And I can get there with the audience. If we can keep growing the audience, the revenue that comes from that can go crazy. And that's what I want to do. But in the, in the, in the hustle and bustle of all of that, right, please share and like, and clip a podcast and put it on this platform and beg somebody finds it and shares it and put it on that platform and put a witty line on it. So somebody will notice it in the, in the hustle and bustle of all that. Like, And here's the other crazy thing about this book, man. But anyway, in the hustle and bustle of all that, you wind up forgetting, like, dude, you have arrived, right? Now, I've been writing since 2016. I've published many. It's not the first time I've seen my name on the front of a book, right? But what's important is this was a book that a publisher requested. This is a traditionally published book, okay? which since I'm 19 years old was a goal. By the time I was 22, by the time I was about 24, 25, I had my first kid and it seemed like, you know what, dude, the direction you're going and the direction the country's going, big publishing, big Hollywood, big culture, like you're counter to that. It's not going to work. You know, they're not going to publish you. You don't have an audience anymore. like the size of a, uh, I don't know who, who, who cut through, right? The Glenn Beck's and the, uh, what's the guy's name? The tall Irish fellow, the no spin zones and the, you know, all those Fox guys, like you don't have an audience big enough for a publisher to do that. And a publisher is not going to take a risk on some conservative kid who wants to write a book, you know, about prepping or community build or whatever. So that dream was like, yeah, Maybe, you know, maybe not. Maybe we push down this self-publishing path and that's just what it is. Or maybe we find some obscure publisher to do it, right? This is not the case, folks, you know? And it's just, you know, I just want to marinate on it. You know what I mean? I want to take the time to enjoy it. That's all. It's so easy to achieve something in life that you've been pushing for for a long time and just go, ah, whatever, right? This is not a now whatever moment. Dave Jones, the NBC guy, is out there where he lives in Virginia. And they don't put the books in Virginia because I live there. You know what I mean? That's not how it works. They put them in places they think they're going to sell, I'm sure. The publisher's out of the UK. But this is what you see. You're looking at it. You go like, oh, he sends you a picture. Your book is sitting on the shelf at a Sam's Club. You did it. Do you know what I mean? So, I don't know. I thought it'd be fun if you go out there and see if you can find it. You know? We got preppers here. You guys are in Sam's Club. So, Walmart picked the book up, which means Sam's Club picked the book up. So, if you're out and about and you wind up in a Walmart or you wind up in a Sam's Club, man, take a picture and send it to me. I'd love to see it. I would. I'd love to see it. I don't care, you know, if it's... I don't know. I'm proud. That's all. Just is what it is. You're talking about trying to achieve something over decades while doing life and everything else, and here it is. Not what I want to spend the whole show on, but definitely something I thought was worth talking about, okay? But like I said, what we're looking to pull off over the next 30 days, starting tomorrow, is a daily live stream, either 9 a.m. Or 9 p.m. And it's going to be on dirt cheap and free preps all through the month of October. One of the things I've never really told you guys about is the fact that I, I really, it, it wasn't fashionable and it doesn't make you money. And this month won't probably make me all that much money. Or maybe it could on the Amazon affiliate side, but whatever, none of you, none of your concern. Um, I have a lot of cheap preps that have served me for decades, and I'd like to talk about it. I've tried a lot of free preps. I just today opened a package. Let me get in front of this thing again. I opened a package. My knife blades of choice have changed. I'm holding up a weird-looking pocket knife for those of you who are listening. It looks like, I don't know what it looks like, but, you know, it was very cheap. I also been carrying a very cheap, when I say very cheap, I think this thing was 10 bucks. And look, there's no doubt, like you're going to have to keep up with a knife like this. This is not a knife that's going to last you years. But I like to have different EDC knives and the way that you have lots of different EDC knives, unless you're a rich guy. Or unless you only devote money to your EDC knives, you find out which ones work and which ones don't. I'm really liking the thin, pointy stuff for self-defense. That's just where my head's at right now in self-defense. EDC self-defense stuff, that's what I'm thinking. So this guy, like I said, I think it was like $ 10. I mean, you can feel that it's $ 10, right? You can feel how it opens. You can feel how it closes. I have knives that are expensive, too. But I just want to let you know that I've done a lot of stuff with cheap preps. And I've had a lot of failures, too. I've had more than one knife failure. Well, not stuff that I bought, but stuff that I've tested for people just explode in my pocket from running with a pocket knife in that was held together by, you know, I don't know, Chinese magic. So it'll be a fun month, man. You'll learn a lot. I'm not just going to like waggle cheap stuff in your face to tell you to buy it. You know what I mean? I'll tell you about my experience with it because that's what's important. But there are things, man. Probably one of the biggest is headlamps. Like headlamps to me are, they're amazing. They're dirt cheap, right? You get some of these Olight flashlights, they're like $ 100 and they're okay. You know what I mean? They do a good job. They really light the woods up really bright for you. And sometimes you need that, right? But not that much, right? I mean, I don't know. Not that much. So the headlamp to me is, it's ultimate it is it is the ultimate tool for getting stuff done in the in the dark in the blackout camping all that and they're dirt cheap man they really are like i got two coming today for a camping trip for me and my son and just i don't know i think there were 12 bucks for two and i guarantee you these things will last eternities they will they'll be around forever so I thought we'd get into a bit of news headlines from the only place I read news anymore, okay? The only legitimate news site I go to, they're not a sponsor. It has nothing to do with, I mean, sure, if they'd wanted to sponsor, it'd be great, but whatever. I've just limited the amount of news that goes in the brain. I don't go to places like the Drudge Report. I don't go to any other news site, really. I don't go to social media for the news. I don't. It's just, I go to social media, but it's not to find out what's going on in the world. I wouldn't trust anybody on there. You know what I mean? The social media world is almost always an ulterior motive. You know what I mean? It's like, I'll tell you about a news story, but it'd be really cool if you signed up for my thing. About 300 migrants from Central America were warned not to try to cross into U.S.-Mexican affairs. Across in the U.S., Mexican authorities are helping to break up the group. What a difference a president makes, right? What a difference a president makes. On the subject of immigrants, I see that people are losing their minds in Richmond, and they want immigrant safety policy or something along those lines, immigrant fairness. I don't know what it is, but they were meeting at the old city council meetings. And it's been a long time since I've gone to city council. I went there to get the chicken law changed so we could have chickens in the backyard. But I think it's time. I think it's time to go back. Second and fourth Mondays, city council meetings, go and see what the hell's going on. And you always get a chance to talk. You always get a chance to add your voice, you know what I mean, to what's happening. The other thing is it's across the street from a beautiful church here in the city. So something about all that, you know what I mean, just presents right to me. But what a difference a president makes, right? Newsom signs law banning shot gloves and taxing immigration detention centers. That's interesting. Taxing a government-run facility. I wonder if he knows who he's taxing. Among those sanctioned, the Treasury Department identified Syed Ashgar Ali Zayda Tabatabi, a Beijing-based representative of Iran's Ministry of Defense. Oh, is this individuals? I thought it said countries. Russia-based air manufacturer. So Russians, Iranians, Chinese, Hong Kongese. U.S. Print on a photo ordered U.S. military to resume a blockade of ships trying to enter and leave Iranian ports after attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Kabul. Iran had 15 million barrels of oil remaining for delivery, Besant said on 27th. They will have nothing to trade for anything. Probably within the next two weeks, they're going to make it their final deliveries of oil to China, and then they will have nothing. It is weird, right? Isn't that, it's really weird, China. Part of me really thinks like any day now with China. Does it feel like that to you or no? I mean, Xi was just in the house, you know what I mean? But it really does feel like any day now. Don't you think? I mean, look, imagine you're in this situation. Imagine America's in this crazy situation where China is blockading Saudi Arabia or China is blockading Venezuela. Now, that could never happen because Donald Trump would probably nuke the Chinese Navy, I think, down there. I'm serious. This is a big deal for him. You've got to understand this sort of Western Hemisphere dominance thing is core. It's key. I go to bed smiling about it. I don't know. It's Conqueror-esque. That's not why I like it. I like it because I have two boys. You know what I mean? And I want them to be safe and I want them to have a safe life. And if they fall in love, I want their women to be safe. Do you know what I mean? Why is this crazy? Why is this like a crazy thing to say? Oh, there are enemies running the Panama Canal. There are enemies in Venezuela. There are enemies in Mexico. There's a drug cartel in Mexico. And the government won't do shit about it, but they're creeping up into the United States. So they have a ballsy president who says, all right, we're going to clean all this up, all right? And we're going to do it live on television. We're going to snatch the president out of Venezuela. If you send drugs by boat through the Gulf of America or any other waterway, we're going to blow you up or... Yeah, 50 cal you. So I don't know, right? What's the alternative? What's the alternative? The alternative is, here's the alternative. Okay, we'll go into the fiction writer's mind. Here's the alternative. You're sitting in a cafe. There's a homeless man defecating out the window. And your son is looking back at you. You're both drinking black coffee because you're trying to survive on whatever you can. Also, it's wonderful. But he looks old as you. And he looks old as you. Because life in America has become survival of the fittest. Right? And. He knows that all institutions are run by some cartel at some level. And he knows that the enemies of the United States have made their home in every orifice available. This is it. These are the terms. He knows his wife's not safe when she leaves the house. His kids are not safe when they go to school. He's not safe. There's no safety. Nothing's safe. And on top of all that, there's drones and AI everywhere. Right? This is the... the alternative to like, oh my God, can you believe we dropped a bomb on the drug dealers? Can you believe that those poor drug dealers got blown up in the water? All they wanted to do is bring fentanyl here and kill off the teenagers. Let them live. I don't know. You got to wrap your head around these things, man. You know what I mean? We're at a moment in time where you have to just you have to understand that buffer zone of the 1980s, 90s, early 2000s, it's gone. There's no buffer anymore, right? We're at 48 trillion in debt or whatever it is, right? People are like looking around going, what's going to happen? Oh, I like this Molly, man. Molly does good stuff. What chance do men and women have? Now that's a million times more interesting than, uh, why the world is a realm of... Well, actually, that's... Does AI detection software work? That's kind of interesting, too, though. Yeah, the Epoch Times always have good stories. It's just sometimes I don't want to... I don't want to even get involved in the news at all. A Chinese battery plant moved into this Illinois town on state money. Its residents can't vote it out. Hmm. A story you'll never hear. A story you'll never hear on the regular news. I heard something from Glenn Beck the other day, because in Canada they're killing each other off, assisted suicide style in the hospitals, which I have a good buddy who's a doctor, and I don't know if you know this, but they take an oath to do no harm. This is what a doctor does, right? What a magic thing, a doctor, by the way. But anyway, a real one. But we have this situation where like, you know. But one of the reasons cited, and Canada's entering into like the depths of Baal worship. That just is what it is. They're worshiping the demons. They're sacrificing human lives, you know, for the state. I mean, I don't know what else it is. You know what I mean? I don't know how else to look at it. Assisted suicide because whatever reasoning that the state figures out or whatever they can convince you or so, you know, whatever. But the part that really, and you know, they're talking about children, they're talking about teenagers, they're talking about the depressed, they're talking about the mentally and physically disabled. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I remember a group like that, right? They had a really interesting symbol. It almost looked like a plus sign, but had some hangers on. Some group that used to kill off the disabled, right? Can't remember. Can't remember who they were. Little guy, funny mustache. No, doesn't ring any bells. What really had me and my wife talking and researching was there was one example of a woman She said, now remember, this is the capital of socialized medicine here. This is what everyone tells America they should aspire to. Socialized medicine like Europe and Canada. You fools! You fools in your capitalist hellhole down there in America. You know nothing. You know not of what it's like to live in the utopia of socialized medicine. Well, one of the people who was, I guess, interviewed, and planning to take her life, she said, the pain of my illness is too much and I can't afford the pain medicine. And being an American, I said, oh, that sucks. That's rough. There's a lot of people in these types of situations. Luckily, you know, we can try to get them on Medicare, Medicaid and get some help, right? Or another, you know, donations and, you know, not-for-profits and all these solutions. But sometimes, yeah, look, I'm not making believe that we got the answer. Sometimes people get screwed and that's it. And they suffer and they die in America too. But hearing that, it didn't really trigger anything until I kept listening and I kept thinking. And then all of a sudden I'm going, wait, in a country with free healthcare, how's it even possible not to be able to afford your medicine? And that's when we found out that, imagine free healthcare is not necessarily free healthcare. It's free to a point. You can get some things free. Medication or some types of medication is one of those things that's not free. can you imagine this? I didn't know this. I mean, if you knew this good on you, but like, I was always turned off. Cause they'll be like, well, I broke my leg and I had to wait two years to get a cast. And I'm like, I'll stick with the medical bills, dude. You know what I mean? I'll stick with this horrible capitalist system where if I get hurt, I can go get fixed same day. Um, But I never in a million years would have fathomed this idea that socialized medicine, you don't get the medicine? You have to pay for the medicine? To the point where you can't afford it? To the point where you're sitting there going, assisted suicide sounds viable. And the state's like, yes, one less bill. One less bill to pay. Yeah, I think you're right, sir. Brilliant. Assisted suicide. It's out there, man. It's dark. It's the devil. It's demons. That's what it is. Now, look. I've watched people in my life who I've loved die in, I mean, just nightmarish, long, drawn-out horror shows. And it probably has its place in end of life. In my opinion. Probably has its place in end of life. Like, there were many times, you know, I've put dogs down. And I've watched dogs go out. peacefully and quietly from an injection. It's the saddest thing. I mean, there's nothing more heartbreaking than putting a dog down. Well, there's some dogs when you put them down, it's like, you know, you had your life, but I had to put a young dog down one time and it was, I don't know. It was good. It, it really was. There was no answer. There was absolutely no answer. It was, it was the worst in 2025. Just terrible. What a terrible year. Um, But for dogs who had long lives and now they've run into terrible pain and this kind of thing, it's like, you can go out like that? That can be an option? You can be put to sleep and then your heart stopped and then you're done? And you don't have to exist for months on end with all of your dignity drained out? So it's not black and white. for me because i lived it i've watched people i've loved just fall apart and that everything everything that they prided themselves in every bit of dignity they had gone and then you get to die starve to death or whatever however else it actually gets you you know what i mean because it doesn't get you in some you know what i mean oh massive heart attack came out of nowhere and took him overnight no he hasn't eaten in five days you know what i mean it's It's horrible. But to have the state force that upon you, that's a whole different thing. To have the state give you a phone call because you have a kid with disabilities and go, well, I just want to tell you about your options here, Mr. Walton. You have options. They make all kinds of great stuff. I was looking at the Carmelite sisters because they make these beautiful rosaries, and I need to get my own rosary because I mentioned earlier I'm praying the rosary. I don't know. I just feel compelled to, called to, however you want to put it. But the Norbertine Cananesses also make rosaries, so I'm going to get one of theirs instead. It's just something there. I don't know what it is. You know what I mean? I have no clue what it is. but I'm running with it. I'm following in that blood trail all the way to God himself, if that's what it is. That's just what it is. I don't know. But what a cool gesture, man. I've talked about the power of writing letters. I've failed at writing people letters. But one of the things, man, that we miss so much, you go to the mailbox and it's full of Nonsense, right? Like half of it's bad news, one it's a bills and something you owe or something. And it takes away from the function of the mail. And then you get something nice, something surprising and nice. And it's like, wow, that's pretty cool. That really makes you feel good. It makes you feel less alone. It makes you feel like the world is a better place. What fills the mailbox is something. It has power. I spent the evening writing, uh, D numb. Let me disappear for a while. Let me disappear for a while. Um, cause I'm tired of looking at this camera. So I wrote, I don't know why, you know, it's hard when you do a lot of writing. The only downside to it is the fact that it's hard to like write in sort of the free freeness of writing that you, um, That got you started writing. You know what I mean? I do that at my sub stack pretty often. I'm not asking you to go over there and do anything. It's free, so it doesn't matter anyway. But it is linked down below in the show description on Rumble and the podcast. But sometimes these ideas, they come out of nowhere, right? And this one, I don't know. Where's the title? There we go. So it wound up being called Be Numb. Not like be numb. But like there's a word. Like to be numb something. Or to be numbed. And it just is another word for numbness. And I don't know. It's just crazy vision about. Really what it is. Is about. Seeing a guy who is like. Just jumping into sobriety. And arriving sort of. I'm talking days in. I'm talking like fresh into rehab, fresh white t-shirt. Well, here it is. He sits comfortably somehow in a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants. He has a small beard and nice black hair that is slicked back. The clothes on his body are new, meant for lounging, but clearly having done very little of it. He looks like your dad at the beginning or the end of a weekend day. He looks like dad after he's had time to remove the talons of responsibility and incessant worry from his flesh, the blood clotted and each punctured, treated with ointment. The man I see is sober, not for any notable amount of time, but sober and comfortable. He sits before you, slick back hair, fresh from the shower. Maybe he showers and prays the soap might wash off the addiction if only for a little while. In this vision, I see failure. I see a man who has exhausted every attempt to hide the parts of himself he never wanted seen. I see a family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues all agreeing that this man, however mighty or not, has fallen. He has failed. He has hit a point in his life that will forever scar and change him. His children amongst friends admitting, yeah, my dad's a junkie. I see a man who has phased into a new level of society. He is crossed into the exclusion zone. We keep a wide berth. When our eyes are on one another, it's theater. We shake our heads, but our loins, they quiver. And this bit of writing that I did here, I have no idea how long it is or whatever. I just get taken over by the muse and just keep writing. But what it's really about is this guy. sitting at the bottom, sitting in the pit of despair. And on the face of it, we pity people like this, right? Oh my God, can you believe what happened to Uncle blank, right? But what's crazy about being at that moment in life, you know what I mean? At that very bottom of the barrel situation is all of a sudden, everything that the common person so fears is gone. And you remember that people make big mistakes. And then they live through it. Right? Let me read a little more. Of course it is not the failure alone that scares us. We fail all the time, but we keep it secret. It's everyone we know finding out about it. It's the invisible crushing weight of others' opinions. And the self-righteous chatter whispered in a dead bedroom. Instead, we meander through an artfully crafted life, paralyzed by the fear of failing, falling short, going broke, getting divorced, losing our career, cheating on our spouse, not having enough to please the world, being cheated on, being mocked, having our children embarrass us with a life unapproved by the culture, and the few remaining family who will in 20 years be worm food. All of these scenarios deliver a glimpse, of our forgotten self. The bits of us we learn to numb and hide away. What we fear most is reaching what we believe is a point of no return. Knowing in our heart of hearts there are no more games, no more excuses, no story we can make up for ourself and then feed to others. There's no blog post or YouTube video out there to gift us some condition, quote unquote, or some illness that can explain it all away. No medication to confuse us into forgetting. The real you is left standing there, flawed human you. Standing there looking at the obstacles you knew you'd never conquer. The goals you were too afraid to proclaim because you knew you'd never reach them. the dreams you abandoned and the feelings you numbed so you could fit in. I see a man who has found, if only for a blink, some semblance of peace in all of this. I wonder if we can only ever know ourselves in the pit of despair. If by failing so completely we shed the artifice of modern life and make it back to that child of God we once were. I mean, what better a trick for the devil to play? Convince the humans, created in God's image, to hide that design behind vast insecurity and fear. That is the strange cyclical nature of life. That we might find an ideal and a priceless piece sitting barefoot in the failure of we kill ourselves to avoid. It's pretty good. Like a madman, like a maniac. You know what I mean? I'm pouring over this writing last night. I couldn't stop. I love that. I love that feeling, man. I absolutely love it. There's something about just being gripped by the muse and you can't stop writing. I don't know if you've ever felt that. It's One of those strange things, but, you know, it is what it is.
