Up a broadcasting network. We have to hit the reset butty to create a true culture preparedness, starting at a very young age and filtering all the way up. Welcome to the gun Metal Armory. Here's your host, Dan Dye. What's up, everybody. It's Dane from the gun Metal Armory. I didn't think I was gonna have enough time today or be able to figure out. Well, it doesn't really matter. I got some new electronics and they are being particularly difficult for me. So what I did is I took my simcard out of the new phone and I put it into my old phone and I'm using that to record my show until i get the new system figured out, because I know this system works and I quite like this system. So anyways, real quick, guys, I wanted to remind you that I do have a website and it does have classes on it for SHTF, Gunsmithing, and Civilian tradecraft. Each class is described in detail what we are going to be teaching you. We will be doing field exercises on both of them. There is a heck of a lot of information that I'm going to put into both classes. So if you guys are interested in learning that kind of stuff, without having to go to college for multiple years like I did for the gunsmithing or well, it doesn't really matter how I learned the civilian tradecraft. Yeah, if you're interested in learning all that stuff without having to go through everything I did, then hit me up. All right. The website is GUNMETALLLC dot com. Take a look, see what you think. Email me if you're interested. You can do that via the website or you can email me at Gunmetal Armory at gmail dot com. Okay, so we are going to get into some more World War two tradecraft stuff today. So or well World War two resistance fighters and how they trained, how they fought, what they did, and how they did it. So today we are going to be moving on to tactics and fieldwork. So our military training is the basis of the type of warfare known as diversive or gorilla warfare. Now, I'm sure a lot of you guys have heard of diversive or gorilla warfare before. It's nothing out of the ordinary. Operations of this type are generally going to be carried out by small bands of patriots in countries overrun by an enemy. Okay, and generally these operations are going to be carried out behind enemy lines. Okay, behind the lines, right, So think about the French occupation, the Nazi French occupation, right, So you had the French maquis. I refer back to them a lot when we talk about World War Two. The French maquie was the resistance group, the gorilla warfare, resistance group behind Nazi lines that we're fighting against these fascists that wanted to take over their country. So that basically describes banned exactly what I'm talking about. Operations of this nature are carried out by bands of patriots, and they're generally carried out by bands of patriots in countries that are being overrun by some sort of an enemy. And of course, like we said, they are carried out behind enemy lines. Now, in the initial stages, such groups, you know, the bands, these little you know, these groups of patriots, they're going to be unorganized, they're going to be you know, they're not gonna be very well coordinated, and they're basically going to be developed by the initiative of a local patriot leader. So take like the Free French forces. You know, they were more of a military force, but you had groups that were led by a specific patriot leader in the French Maquis. You had groups in the Norwegian resistance that were led by a specific local patriot leader. This is not a new concept. In fact, Great Britain had been fighting groups like this throughout their colonial rule for hundreds of years. This is nothing out of the ordinary. Now, when it comes to these these small patriot groups that are generally going to be uncoordinated and you know, unorganized for the time being, they may be brought into a smaller group or a closer touch with each other, and they actually may work in full cooperation with armies that are actually in the field. Right, so we know that the Free French forces worked with the Maquis, We know that the British forces worked with the French Moquis. We know that the British forces worked with the Norwegian resistance. We know that there were multiple Polish resistance groups that worked with the Russians. In fact, so there are lots and lots of examples of this type of group existing and causing so much havoc for the invading army. Now, it doesn't necessarily have to be an invading army that's behind enemy lines. It could already be an enemy that is already within their midst Okay, you could both call yourself French people, but one group thinks differently than another group, and that group is generally going to be regarded as an enemy. Now, depending on how you want to look at it. Back in the day, you know, some people had various different place ideals, some people had various different moral ideals. It all comes down to if you see those people your neighbor as an enemy or a friend. You know, are you all French people? Are you all Russian people? Are you all I don't know what Polish people Norwegia. You understand what I'm saying. During this timeframe, you know, it was very, very interesting, but it was not hard for these folks to be able to discern between friend and enemy. So moving on, while these operations are of necessity and they're definitely going to be of limited extent, they're not going to be a very wide, large operation. Basically, the reason they're not going to be a very large or wide operation is because of the size of the opposing force. And basically, you know, a smaller force can't fight a larger force head on, but a small, well trained and well led group of partisans can do damage to the enemy which is completely out of proportion to the size of the band. Okay, So let's say you've got a small group of partisans behind enemy lines in any country, that small group can wreak havoc on a larger army. Hence the reason why. Now keep in mind that most countries have never allowed the Second Amendment. Okay, most countries have never allowed their citizens to own weapons or buy them or have them, Okay, at least not recently. You know, many countries didn't have gun control laws up until you know, the nineteen hundreds. So if you look at the likelihood of America ever being invaded, it's very, very unlikely because, as the Japanese said during World War Two, there would be a rifle behind every blade of grass. It wouldn't be worth it for them. It was hard enough, I'm sure for the Germans wipe you know, wiping out every place that they went with their large military you know, airpower and ground you know, with their blitz creek and all that stuff. Can you imagine if every single one of those populations had you know, millions of guns and trillions of rounds of AMMO. It wouldn't it would have been a blood bath. It would have been absolute bloodbath. But that's not to say that if the citizenry doesn't have weaponry, if only a few partisans do, then those few partisans can still recavoc They still can. And it's very very important that we understand this in you know, the world that we're in right now, as well as understanding history. Understanding history is very very important. Now, there are three important features of guerrilla warfare. Those three important features of that type of warfare are speed and aggression in the attack. Sorry, speed and aggression in the attack followed by a quick getaway. You have to be able to get away fast. You cannot linger, okay, So speed and aggression or as you may hear if you take modern team taxi courses, CQB stuff like that, you may hear speed, surprise and violence of action. You know, you may hear that quite often. You know, that's a very very common thing. Speed, surprise, violence of action. So the biggest deal there is surprise is absolutely essential. With that surprise, you have basically lost your ability to take the upper hand. This is why we got our butts kicked in Vietnam. Is speed, surprise, and violence of action. It is one hundred percent the reason because they would come out of the jungle, whoop the crap out of the American soldiers, create all kinds of casualties, and then melt back into the jungle into those tunnels that they had dug everywhere. It was brutal. Okay, So three important features of this type of guerrilla warfare Speed and aggression in the attack, followed by a quick getaway. Number two the ability to strike at many points at the same time. Either well, either at the same time or at different times, but the ability to strike many points that makes a difference. Doing this is in order to harass the enemy and keep him always on the alert. Now, imagine if you're an enemy soldier and you have no time to rest, you are constantly thinking you're about to be attacked, even when you're asleep, and you've got your garrison and stuff like that. Well, how many garrison are out there? Are there more partisans than garrison? What about guys like the Devil's Brigade that would come into Germany encampment to the middle of the night and you have two guards and they would freaking both of the guards were asleep. They'd kill one of them with their V forty two dagger and leave a sticker on that dead dude's head sitting right next to the other guy, and the sticker says the worst is yet to come, and it has their logo. Dude. That is a psychological warfare tactic that no one is ready for. No military is ready for that. Imagine if our guys over in Iraq or Afghanistan had to deal with that, do you really think they would want to keep fighting? No one would. Psychological warfare makes a huge difference. Harassing the enemy always keeping him on alert, that makes a huge difference. So number three, all attacks must be directed against targets, which, if destroyed, we'll bring about the maximum of damage to the enemy war effort. So if you've got an enemy fighting a war and you blow up all their ammunition or a whole bunch of their ammunition, or you take out their railcars, anything like that, that is going to make things much much more difficult on them. So keep this in mind. So, causing maximum amount of damage to the war effort can be done in two different ways. Directly and immediately, such as attacks on the enemy headquarters during a battle. Okay, so let's say the normal military is attacking you know, the flank of the enemy or the forward part of the enemy or whatever you know, and you're coordinated with them, Well, your team can hit the enemy headquarters because you're behind enemy lines already. The regular military is not behind enemy lines. You understand what we're getting at. Okay. The other option, instead of directly and immediately would be indirectly, which would be attacks on communications, supplies, production, any means of transportation, any of the infrastructure, those kind of attacks, food, supply, any of those kinds of attacks on the enemy will make a massive difference. The results of such diversive attacks on the enemy can be far reaching. For example, attacks on supplies, attacks on transport, or attacks on industry can and will slow down and particularly or partially rather disorganize the war effort. If you're hitting things like that, they're not going to be able to keep up with it, and the disorganization that will take place as a result will be catastrophic. Also number two, such attacks force the enemy to disperse his troops for police and garrison duties. So think about that for a second. If the enemy has to put more soldiers back from the front lines where they're fighting the regular military, they have to put troops in the back to guard the trains and you know, guard the supply depots and things like that. That's one less guy on the front. Now, granted, that is one guy that your team of partisans may have to fight, but it's a lot better and makes it much much easier. When you've disturbued, you've dispersed the enemy forces, you distribute them all over the place because you're causing havoc all over the place. This also lowers the morale of the enemy and consequently the efficiency of the enemy. If the enemy is all pumped up in badass and we're ready to kick the butt, well, you know, okay, but wouldn't it be a lot nicer to have them sad, depressed and not having any will to fight? Think about that. You know, that was one of the things that was really difficult for us in Vietnam, for America and Vietnam is our guys never knew when a booby trap was going to hit them. Our guys never knew what was booby trapped. You know, it is absolutely draining to any individual. No one can handle that for long. And we all know this. So while the importance of that type of warfare is great. It is it is as well to consider the limitations of that type of warfare. You must consider those limitations. It's not often possible, for reasons of security, for a large band of partisans or patriots to operate. This is of necessity, and this necessity limits the scope of the operations being capable or being reasonable for a smaller band of soldiers they're a smaller band of partisans. It also makes the selection of the right target vitally important. Are you going to hit a gas station? Are you going to hit a you know, something else like that. You know, it really really depends. It's it's very, very very important that you get it right because if you don't get it right, it is going to be the last time you don't get it right. With that selection being vitally important, comes to other responsibilities. And during World War Two, the Germans feared the partisan type of attack. They feared patriots behind enemy lines. They feared that type of attack, and they took stern measures to stamp it out, which, as we all know, were war crimes. So keep that in mind. Nowadays, you know that stuff is not nearly easy because everybody has a phone, right, but bad things still have and as we see in some of the other countries over there in the East. So we'll just stay away from that topic for the moment. Anyways, it is difficult to secure weapons, supplies and explosives. It's also difficult and often impossible to coordinate grilla operations into a concerted plan over a wide area. There are reasons for this, and this is why generally gorillas operate in small bands because it's almost impossible to do, you know, difference in time, difference in watches, difference in all sorts of different things. It is far too difficult to coordinate that stuff at the same time, you know. So that's why most bands operate in small groups. Also, excuse me. Also, the reason that most bands operate in small groups is because is because they well, how do I put this, for security's sake, Okay, they want to operate in a smaller group for the sake of security. So if you think about all of this stuff, it is essential in gorilla warfare operations that each soldier or each partisan adher's to basic principles. There are basic principles that every gorilla, every partisan, every patriot must adhere too. He must have a complete knowledge of the country in which they are operating. If you live in California, you better damn well know California. If you live in frickin London, you better know London like the back of your hand. Or if you can't do that, try to get expert knowledge of how to make the best use of and move about in a strange country. In other words, try to find as much information on the country as you can. Nowadays, with the age of you know, freaking computers and smartphones or you know whatever, you have a lot of options for that. But back then they didn't have those kind of options, so they had to make do. They had to make use of every single thing that they possibly could, maps local guides, anything and everything, they made use of it. Another thing about a gorilla fighter, he must have expert knowledge of all weapons that are used by his gorilla group, and if possible, full knowledge of as many weapons as he can get his hands on that are used by the enemy. You gotta know every part possible weapon that will use by the enemy. Now, if you are anything like me, you know you've had your hands on quite a few different firearms, right, you know, being a gunsmith, we do get our hands on a lot of different stuff. But that being said, it doesn't mean that you're always gonna have that option, but you should aspire to if you can. You know, another thing that a guerrilla fighter must do is he must give at all times complete obedience to his leader and be absolutely devoted to the cause. Obedience to the leader makes a big, big difference because without a hierarchy, without a leader and soldiers, it is very, very hard to get anything done. Now that's not to say that you won't be the leader someday. Who knows, right, you know, being gorillas is dangerous, man, even the poor gorillas in the Congo. It's dangerous for them too, poor guys Portato gorillas and monkeys anyways, Sorry, I like animals anyways. The nature of gorilla warfare demands particular attention to field craft. Since the element of surprise is essential in all particular operations, field craft requires the greatest attention to detail. There is specific training that students receive instruction in individual field craft. Now, this is something I may tackle down the road instructions in field craft, but that is something that would have to be tackled in a in a video or in a class. I would have to teach you guys stuff in a class or in a video, because trying to talk about it doesn't really lend itself very well to what I'm trying to explain. If I tell you there's a particular colored green leaf that can be used as a better green for this type of camo versus some other type of green, You're not going to understand what I'm talking about. If I can't put that leaf in front of you, even with a camera, it's still may or may not come out the correct green color that I'm trying to portray or trying to get across. So paramilitary instruction carries training further. Students are required to apply the knowledge that they learn to the infinitely more difficult job of collective field craft. Now, collective field craft is very interesting, and it is much more difficult to conceal ten men than it is to conceal one man. It's much harder for ten men to move about silently at night together. Now, think about the training that groups like the Devil's Brigade and the OSS and the SOE went through. Now, groups like the Devil's Brigade or British Commandos or oh gosh, I don't know Marine raiders. All these guys they went through a lot of training. But a lot of the training that they went through, there's a good bit of the field craft. A good bit of the training they went through was fieldcraft and learning to move quietly at night with all that gear, ammo guns, everything, all that. It makes a difference, and it is something that, you know, if you're interested in this old school stuff, if you're interested in learning more about this, you might consider playing around with some stuff like that. You know, if you're like me and you have you know, some gear here and there, put some of it on and try to move quietly through your house, you know, try to go outside and move quietly along the backside of the front side of the house. Now, make sure you stay on your own property. Number one. Number two. If you're going to do this at night and you have neighbors that are nosy, you might want to tell them that you're going to be out and about working tomorrow night. That way, they don't think that you're a prowler sneaking around outside your own house. That would be kind of awkward. You know, yes, officer, I live here, Sure you do. Guy, No, seriously, Look, here's my idea. You stole that from inside, So keep that in mind. Okay, all right, Also keep in mind these lessons. It's much more difficult to conceal ten men than it is to conceal one man. It's harder for ten men to move quietly through the countryside at night. All of this stuff rings true, and all of it is extremely important to remember. All right, next thing, the only way this can be achieved is for every man to concentrate the whole time on his own individual field craft. That is how you remain quiet That is how you move through the countryside quietly. That is how you get good is you concentrate on your own field craft and you make sure it is really, really up to date, and the attention to detail that you have is second to none. And that has to be every single guy, Okay, every single guy. So every partisan, every patriot, everyone in the group has to remember that if he makes a mistake, it endangers the entire team, It endangers the lives of all his companions. So he must make sure he does not make a mistake. Each and every guy in that unit could get everyone killed. So let's keep that in mind. Now, there are a lot of information on formations and how a group of partisans or patriots might move. I don't have a lot of time left because I have to make a phone call here, but I'm going to tell you guys a little bit about formations right now, and then we'll go from there. I'll see probably come back and do the rest of this next week. Okay, all right, So it's formations have changed and the way that we fight wars has changed over time, but there is also a lot of information from the past that is useful as well. So any party of men moving across the country should move in definite formation, not in a constant changing huddle or a straggling line. The reason that teams move informations. The reason for that, and the essentials of any formation are to basically ensure maximum use of available cover, you know, moving through trees, dirt mounds, you know, burnt out cars, whatever, right, also to ensure permanent all around defense. And then finally to ensure that there is adequate communication between all members of that group, but particularly particularly you need good communication between the leader of the gorilla group and his scouts. His scouts that go up ahead and they find who's out there and what's out there and what targets you're going to be coming up to quickly. Scouts are very very important. If you want to know more about the scouting teams and how that stuff worked, we'll talk about that later on. Too many formations have been devised for use by the regular Army, some of which fulfilled the requirements of a partisan group, but most of those are going to be unsatisfactory because they're impossible to maintain for a long distance or in a in broken country, meaning you know, there's debris and stuff everywhere, Okay, trees, hills, underbrush, all that stuff. Okay, Very very few really ensure the maximum use of available cover. Very few formations from the regular Army ensure the maximum use of that kind of cover. The latter reason the adequate communication between all members of the party. That is one that you will definitely not want to skip over. Okay, But there is also certain formations like the diamond formation and the box shape formation that are not really good for communication either. Now, granted, you know, I'm sure you can make it work. Okay, I'm sure you can make it work. You know, you can make almost anything work if you try ad enough or whatever, right, but all this stuff has to be taken into account because you don't know what or when or how things are going to play out. Okay, anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed this. I hope we had some fun tonight. Again, I'm sorry that I'm only doing these thirty minute shows. My life has taken a turn for the very, very busy, as I'm sure you guys know. I'm sure all of you guys are basically dealing with the same kind of stuff, but I will keep going with the World War Two SOEOSS and resistance fighter training. I hope you guys enjoy this and we'll see you guys next time as we go deeper inside the training center of the training Center of the gun Metal Armory. Good night, everybody, Thank you for joining us. We'll see you next time on the gun Metal Armory. Thank you for listening to the Prepper Broadcasting Network, where we promote self reliance and independence.
