Venezuela Double Earthquake: Real Lessons for The Great Quake & How to Prepare

It's a long time. Hi, Chim, what's up? Hey, g's up? You'll yeah eighteen, Yeah, it's something like that. Uh, I think you've been with me for a lot of them. Now I think we're pushing past. You've been with me longer than I did the show before you were my co host. Thank you for we both started in different states. Yeah than we are now. Yep. So much history like to fill into this podcast, so maybe too much. I've gone back and listened and been like, wow, yeah, crazy. So today we're just kind of doing a regular show. We're gonna have some change in Earth news. There's been lots of stuff going on, and uh, Mission Mules that we did last month was just spectacular. I put an advertisement up for them in my audio drama as well, So that was great. Yeah. Yeah, and I've actually spent time with me. They're good. Yeah, I love that. I mean that just we found on the internet. Right right. I've been doing a bunch of podcast interviews lately with different, various people from all different walks of life, which is always great to be able to, you know, take that message out to just different demographs. I saw one that you said the guy was holding on for dear life, trying to keep up with me. Yeah. Positive Talk Radio with Kevin. Yeah, those two were just awesome people to meet, you know, and it's just so impressive when we put you know, you just step out there, step out of your box and put yourself a little bit at risk and realize that, like, you know, everybody has a really big common ground, more so than they want to believe, which is just spectacular. So and his co hosts. You can't remember her name right now, I don't want to say it wrong, but she was so cool. She's from Salt Lake and like just you you know, the whole proper preparedness world and all of that, and so it was a really cool common ground to have there. I also met another lady who lives out in Tennessee whose homesteading, so that one was much more. And I've been doing just lots of ones on leadership and uh survival mindset and preparedness as far as self defense and things like that. So it's been crazy my schedule. Books. I think I got a whole bunch of books about. Yeah, you get them all. Oh you haven't got them yet, Yeah, you better bring the truck down with you to get them. There's a lot of books, man, And I was like, oh oh, she was ready for that one. So yeah, we'll be out at Prepper Camp. Prepper Camp twenty twenty six. It's at the try On International Question Center this year, which is gonna be a fantastic venue. I'll have tons of books out there that are getting to shippen right now. Be out there signing books and teaching classes and whatnot. So you know, as always, we really encourage you to come out. It's gonna be just awesome new experiences here. We are halfway through right now, and we're at a little bit of a pause because I need time to build material, honestly, so I like to have, you know, definitely all the audio done and two of the videos done before I release a block of four episodes, and it takes an extreme amount of work, and so just be patient with me. We're halfway through, so if you haven't been listening, you haven't gotten caught up yet, you definitely want to. This season is just off the chain good. So I can tell you about some of the scenes I just built out and you would definitely know what I'm working on as far as you know. Erica and TJ time together. So yeah, so that's been fun. And like I say, if you haven't got caught up, definitely do because it's been jamming. So during June, on June twenty fourth, Venezuela was hit by the two massive earthquakes that were just thirty nine to forty seconds apart. It was a seven point two followed by a seven point five, and it's the second one was the strongest one felt in over one hundred and twenty five years. They had buildings collapsing, the airport was affected, hospitals were affected, and then you know, rescue teams came in. And this is I wanted to highlight it because of a video that I watched that really inspired me because of the end. It was like, you know, on the President's calling for everyone to stand together in solidarity, right, and that really hit me because I'd like to believe, like unlike so much my fictional story is that if something like this happened in our world that was on a grander scale, that we could come together and we could work together. Instead of like envisioning a mad Max scenario. You know, what was that looked like? I don't know, but it's something we need to think about as far as what does our infrastructure look like, what does you know, everything look like after the event. So whenever we have examples like this, especially in Venezuela before their economic collapse, they were an absolute powerhouse of a nation. I'm doing really really well on par you know, with with the United States, with Europe, right, and so before they decided to try out socialism, it was this country that was amazing. And so to see it happened there and what happens following a disaster like that is a great learning lesson for us, and then we can look at that if it were to happen global. So that's that's kind of where I took my inspiration for today's show. I am going to do a show on my gardens. Everybody who's been waiting. To see. They've been doing really good. We've been canning every weekend. Finally in Texas. You know, I'm there's still some walls we were up against. But. It's been going really well. So we will do that show. I just thought this was much more. Relevant with Earth in a major changing Earth event. Sarah, can't pass it up. No way, no way. Yeah, I had to jump on it. So what made this especially brutal was the double tap that the earth gave Menezuela. You know, when you have all that structural damage and stuff and everything's just hanging and then booming gets hit again, that's a problem. The landslides and whatnot became that secondary threat. And luckily they were having a major holiday that day, which was a holiday where a lot of people were not inside and they were out on the street celebrating and whatnot when the earthquakes hit. So that was actually a really good thing that people weren't you know, all sitting inside watching TV or you know, doing doing inside activities. So you know, if you have to take silver linings that that is definitely one of them. In Venezuela, that double tap was the real killer. Infrastructure went fast, and that's one of the major things that I am concerned about because we have so much of everything that points to these earthquakes starting to be more and more rough, you know, more and more happening more and more often, and without infrastructure, you've got injured people nowhere for them to go. We've talked many times about our one day food supplies and what that looks like. And you know, when you don't have the trucks coming, they can't come, they can't get to you. That kind of thing. It's a problem, a big problem. Yeah, we lived through that here after Helene. Right, literally. Is that there was no roads. I mean even if people wanted to get here, there's no roads, right, And that's what you know best. And like your major town centers and stuff, of course, where there's most amount of people, that's what they're going to be the most concerned with getting back on line first. So, like you say, when Helene happened out there in the rural areas in the backwoods, where they're not coming, you know, they're not going to come. Well maybe not the new influx of people into the area, but people that live out in the country kind of. Lives without waiting on. Yeah, you're not like so worried about having that. You're used to your power going out, right, You're you're used to having. I mean, you can't overcome everything, but the mindset of people outside. The major urban areas is a little different then. And in an earthquake scenario inside your urban areas, you're going to see more damage. Because there's just more building structure. Yeah, So I don't think that's necessarily like a good thing because you know, you have all these injured people and then you have no place to take them. Yeah, and then the hospitals, right, they were talking about how they were bringing yeah, yeah, they were bringing people into the hospital and they didn't even know like if that hospital was structurally sound enough to be having people in it. And shot there was no right, Right, So they're trying to help people and also like get their building back online all these things, and that's what really really concerns me. Also, we have a lot of infrastructure that explodes when it gets shaken up, gas lines, things like that that could cause a lot of wildfire damage in areas that you know, might not be as used to it. If you start Venezuela. This was one hundred and twenty five years since they've seen something like this. You know, that's that's a couple of generations. So that's not something that they're thinking about. You know, when you're used to wildfire, when you're used to earthquake activity, you start living in that different mindset. But they were prepared for it same way as a lot of areas in the United States would be because it's just not you know, an event that happens a whole lot. Everyone's going like, oh, earthquakes, whatever, We're not in californ Wow, it happens so big time. Your certain teams. Would you prepare, would you prepare that those preps don't just say Okay, this box will use the hurricanes, this box will only be used for fires. This bosketal I mean you kind of. Yeah with a box, right. There's minor tweets, right like, yeah, yeah, well I try to have shoes near my bed anyway. I don't know, they say like a hard helmet or whatever by your bed kind of thing. But so there's minor tweets which you're absolutely right, like you're preparing for one thing, you're preparing for them all. And that could be just a loved one in the hospital or whatever and you just can't make bills that month and go to the grocery store so you have your food supply back. But your CURT teams, the you know, community community emergency response teams, your neighbors, your family, anyone who's trained medically. These are the people that are the first responders, the ones that are in that area, that ground zero. So it's definitely something we need to think about, and. Yeah, we need to work on that like yesterday. Yeah, if you have if you go people and you have your networks pulled together and you've been doing this for a year, two years, and then a catastrophe happens, you guys will gel and mesh and not be freaked out. I mean, you guys will come to each other. It'll work much better than if you say, okay, well we'll just go over to the neighbors when there's an emergency, right, And you. Guys, we've never seen this before. We've never been Yeah, how do we even work together? Now we're in the middle of this situation and there's thirteen I'm fairly new to it. But it's a great way to do community response preparation without seeing enough waving the prepper form, right, and you get your neighbor, I mean, your neighbor doesn't have to be a full fledged prepper, but you can get them involved and it's an easy talking point. Well, you know, the teams get sponsored, so you know, like a fire department or a sheriff's department or hospital or somebody will sponsor right, And that's how you stand up and so you can say, you know, I'm here from the fire department. You know, we're standing up as thirteen, which is just people helping, you know, neighbors help the neighbors. Yeah, and then you do classes and so and it's something that's to start now. And that's it's really fun there. You know people Yeah, good people everywhere. And I love the way that you know, being all prepared taking it through, you know, getting your community together. That kind of thing is really coming around again that I think that it's been bashed long enough and people are starting understand. We've watched like Lean, we've watched Katrina, and we've seen why it's so important. And now which which neighborhoods survive better or faired better, the neighborhoods that stood up and helped each other, helped the neighbor help the neighbor, or the neighborhood that just sat there in the front yard with the scien saying where's my help? Right? Which one? Exactly? It's true. And that's what I think that people are finally like waking up a little bit like, oh, this isn't crazy. You know, I have insurance with FEMA doing the commercials on TV and everything, and just you know, people can't look at it that way. As far as you have insurance, you have a spare retired, why are you not thinking about community emergency response, especially if you live in a tsunami zone or you live, you know, in a wildfire zone, or you live in a tornado alley, or you know in her urricane here he is, these things happen as you know, the poles flip and the earth keeps changing. We're going to be facing this more and more often. So we can't just be like, oh, you know, it's not gonna affect me. It will it will. So how long is it going to take help to get to you versus you getting help out of your closet or garage. Yeah? I was gonna say, Doom and Bloom, great resource for medical preparedness. He has don't drink his water, But no, he always wanted to be a villain, a villain in a book. So I was like, oh, wish granted, But he has so uh, Doctor Joe Alten has so much, just oodles and oodles of information. His book is great. So I highly recommend that we go exactly yep. So fear plus lack of preparation is just going to multiply suffering. We haven't thought through these things, and we haven't you know, been really examined how we can do things better next time, how we can get people together, how we can get people out of their bubbles and to start working together as a community. It's gonna be a lot more challenging to come together when something happens, all right, So, in my books the Changing Earth, this is a global scale, And the reason that I did it that way is because it's all over prophetic prophecy. I just I love it, and I've got blogs on that, We've done shows on the specifics of you know what aggre Cases says. When the Bible says Matthew twenty four, Jesus warrants that earthquakes would be a part of the birth pains, and literally that's what we're seeing. We've seen so much off take on earthquake activity lately, and then Revelations describes a quake onlike something people have never seen on Earth, never been on Earth. So if you're like, oh, well that's not my area and it's never gonna happen to me, you know, I don't know, I don't. I it would be a bad day for us if it did happen and all our infrastructure went and we've got earthquakes don't actually kill like okay for example, So yes, and I'm I'm prayers to everybody lost their life in Venezuela. And also, you know, there's been some biggies over the last few years. But if you have a disaster like a volcanic eruption or a big tsunami or something like that, I mean you're talking about people just being white out and an earthquake. If you can get to a safe spot where there's nothing going on, I mean. There's less earthquake exactly like floods. And right exactly, Yeah, it's going to take you out. So I mean, you're not going to have like the mass scale of death that you would have if fire burned everything or something like that, you know, from meteor hit that kind of thing and took people out. But what I worry about is, you know, okay, so you have this whole population that's built on this certain amount of infrastructure and now it's gone, and that's what you have to deal with. So that's really where I got the ideas you know for the Change in Earth series. So you basically have all these homeless people. They're trying to eat, they're trying to get water, they're trying to get medicine, they're trying to help loved ones. And the coastlines are completely rew and what the ground looks like where it used to be able to just drive down the street is completely different. And things like Venezuela give us that picture, that microscopic picture of what would happen, and we can go and send aid. Right America was on it. We were sending aid over there. We were you know, rescue missions people coming from all over the world to help them out and make sure that they could handle that with water, with food and everything. But if you're looking at it on a planetary scale, where something happens to the whole globe, then countries have to worry about themselves. It's like going out and triaging a situation when there's a you know, a big disaster at an arena or something, and you have to decide like who is hurt enough that we can help them, and then who's hurt too much that we can't even save them. National treat action, that's what you're doing the countries are going to worry about their military supplies, their military bases. What that, you know, looks like it'll go state of emergency for sure. We've talked a lot about when the state of emergency comes down that puts the government in control of everything. If they give those executive orders, including human power, so it would be activating military, activating National Guard for security, and they would just go into that process. I've talked to so many people in homeland security and has MATT teams or DMAT teams, stuff like that and what that would look like. And I never knew it before I wrote it, but it's one that would look like so a little bit. It's understandable why, right, you have to get things back online. You can't just have people out there, you know mad Max situation where they're fighting with each other over everything. You got to get that structure back online. So these major population centers, that's the biggest risks that I see because you have so many people and not enough food. You'd have more people there, you have more debris there, that kind of thing. Their governments are going to be concerned about their key ports, power generation facilities, hospitals, transportation, hubs, and communication notes. Well, and that's something we didn't really talk about. We're going to talk about it and like the immediate steps you can take, but the communication absolutely the same with Lane. You know went down and there was you couldn't contact anybody in Venezuela after it, so you have to have I. Heard I heard one story one of the local hands was was calling out to help secure the channel and let people know that there was a there was an event down there and not have the channel, the ham channel be taken up with just chatter like recreational communications that there was emergency happening and to keep. The channel clear. So they were using hand they were using exactly anybody can do. Anybody can do. I know, I get the beat down for me every time on the hand radio. Well, once I get to when I have like some free time, I'm on it for sure. But mm hmm. I tried to get one of my boys interested in it. That's kind of the problem with is it's always, uh, it's not romantic, it's not sexy. You know, everybody likes to you know, running gun or. Are any things or or you don't me foraging or you know foraging or that kind of stuff, but you need to dedicate a little time. It's like doing math without the calculator. You need to do your math. You can do other stuff down the rule what. You can do math without a calculator. You got your habit kiss out, all right, So we're you know, we see extremely damaged areas. One of the areas of the United States that I'm particularly concerned about is the Mississippi River because there's three bridges that cross that to basically provide commerce for most of the United States. So that's one area that I'd be concerned about in my books that goes to the Mississippi Sea. So God willing that nothing like that happens. But we are looking at some planetary change and what that looks like here in the next ten years if not a topic I'm going to get into today, But if you want to find out more about that, go to Space Weather News. Their YouTube channel, Ben does a great job of breaking all of that down. And that's what I believe is coming for us as a people. Okay, So even in Venezuela, they focused on the hardest hit neighborhoods and then calling on international aid, which again, you know, people were there to be able to help them, which is great. My biggest concern would be that we're not prepared enough locally to respond to each other if we didn't have big national aid because it was such a big event globally, so you got to just upscale, upscale. Upscale governments would also take control of key items like fuel, food stock piles, and that's if your fuel you know, reserve just haven't exploded, that kind of thing. Medical supplies, they're going to take control of, even transportation. There could be like a lot of price controls, commandeering of private supplies for public use. That is concerning to a lot of. And even if they didn't go door to door to take your supplies, just think about they just wipe out all the walmarts and all the CBS's and all that stuff, right, so you could even get stuff because it was They would say, you know, we're going to the warehouse, we're taking everything out, and we're gonna put it in the female stock poles, the stocks So Okay, the worst case scenario, they come over them. But if it's not that drastic, theoretically they're easy. Their first pick is probably going to go towards like, uh, commercial warehouses. Yeah, agreed. You can get the biggest you know, grab out of that, and like all of our food, it goes to like I don't know what it is, seven major warehouses where then it's shipped out to the individual stores. So I mean you can really put a lock right on that. Yeah, that's. That's how and that's going to run out no matter. I don't care how prepared you are. You better you know, have something, you better know your wild origin. Huh. But yeah, if they ever did like martial law, that that would be my opinion of because they don't have enough guards and whatnot, police force, military force to lock down every town. But if you just lock down a food supply, then you know, people especially now, are in big trouble. International aid would flow, maybe depending on what of the it's like, but it would be overwhelmingly politically as far as like who's receiving aid Again, you're gonna have to triage like where can you help and what's just a waste of your supplies? And maybe you should keep those flies at home because we don't know what that looks like. So all of that will come to a screeching halt. And that's where the concern is that's why you've got to be local, all right, so we can extinguish all this fear that we have with knowledge and with preparation. Always about knowledge, because if you know things, how to make tools, how to wow forward, how to do the radios, how to make your own radio. You know, if you know things, it doesn't matter what kind of stuff you have because you can design it yourself. Basically, there's a pretty cool book. What was that book that was like how to rebuild the world? And it has so much information in it. No, but that's a good one. You're talking right. It was a chemistry I have it so A cool quote that I found, We did talk about it. A cool quote that I found. Preparedness is love in action. It's how we care for our families and neighbors when systems that we rely on go down. It extinguishes fear by replacing what if with here's what we do. That is so cool. I've never heard it. Yeah, I love I underline that. I love that. I've never heard it explain that way, and it's absolutely true. It's love and action and it's true when we you know, I had studied on how do we, you know, handle a wildfire? Situation, that kind of thing. My husband's freaking out was like, no, I know what to do. I learned this right, this is what we do and it went ino motion and it really is love and action because I wanted to make sure that everything that I love was taken care of, and that's my family, my animals, that kind of thing already. And if you're watching the replay, then you're in luck because it's already up there. So building layers of readiness, so first of all, like secure your space. And I know this might seem kind of weird if you're not like in an earthquake zone and you're going, this is just crazy. I don't live in California, I don't you know, So my advice would be big stuff to worry about. Right. Our bookshelves are toddlers and stuff, right, you know, like the anti tip stuff toddlers. Right, my son was like hitting this this TV stand that the big TV you know, with a huge bag was on Hunt and it just about fell on Fletcher at the cord. Is what gave it that moment for him. Yeah, and so I mean it doesn't hurt to make sure that stuff is secured for more reasons than just an earthquake. But you know, for us too, we hook our bookshelves to the actual wall. Water heaters should have straps on them, that's just common sense. Refrigerators a lot of times we don't have them secured any other way. Besides they're just sitting there. You see the refrigerators in the earthquake, they were just like throwing stuff at Yeah, like there's still a little rigid inside refrigerators. And I didn't think like it would be that bad with a refrigerator because they're so big. But you know, well the nineteen oh three earthquake in San Francisco, when I studied that one, literally trains were tipped overside it like yeah, you know that had to be some big movement to move that piece of steel like that and just tweak the whole track out and everything so that I'll link that simulator that you sent me. Oh yeah, yeah, I'll link that. Although they went they did it, it was they could have cut. It in half. Yeah, it was a little long, especially if it's interesting chance forward when exploding. Okay, good, okay, more so, Yeah, that was but it was a good example of why right here here's my aid picture. And I thought before I watched that, I saw another. It's civil Engineered talking about the different structures and he said exactly. What that video. Right. Yeah, so if you're going to live in a zone that is a potential earthquake zone, then you might want to think about what room you're running or what's your house made out of? That kind of thing, because. Yes, yes, I can't wait for that. I've seen something like that in real life. That's did a pretty good job of making one. But I saw one that I was like, oh my gosh, that's my idea for the for tic tac pads. It didn't look like it was pretty darn clothes. So yeah, with the so it actually moved, all right, So we strap everything down a bedside kit. You should have this anyway, flashlight in your dresser or whatever. Is what do. I call it bedside table whatever. Nice. You should have flashlight in there, glasses, glasses should be right there, a dust mask, whistle because oh my gosh, this guy was trapped for like, yeah, yes, not by my booth. Have propper camp. I always have whistles for you. I've been researching on that team. Okay, don't take me away, but there was this guy. He was stuck for eight days in oh Man, like, just get out of town. I'm so claustrophobic. I'm I'm just so impressed. So what a cool thing to have will be a whistle, and like, nobody's got a whistle next to their bed, I do because I have one. I have a pair of cord bracelet and has a really loud whistle on it in my nightstand. Right, That's why I say, because it's just a weird thing they have there. I got something that can make. Do you Randa? Yeah, oh yeah for sure. I don't have the dust mask. I don't know, but I try to keep shoes right there. I've got, you know, fire arms. Then reached that kind of thing, a small first aid kit. I don't have that sitting next to the bed. And then a sturdy go bag you can grab in the dark. It is definitely not next to my bed, but it is in my closet that's not too far from my head. I actually play all that stuff. Right, it's right there, too far. So you're stay at home kit, you know, in the bare minimum two to four weeks food squat for everybody in your house, right, so if your family gets finished, Yeah, one thing with Christian, right, he's gonna eat more now. So yeah, it evolves water a gallon per day. There's a lot of water to store, yeah per person. Yeah, yeah, it's a lot of water. And water is difficult to store. So there's some cool methods. We've deployed them all. I think I have a water full, and but there's no water where we're at. We'd be really screwed. That's why we wouldn't stay here. But you were talking about, well, you're gonna have power, and. What if they cracked too, you know earthquake, because we had that crack. This where you know didn't have power as well, they didn't have. Power, right, And so you can have a jenny that's like dedicated to your well, we had that in California, or we had a jenny we we couldn't. It didn't work. Anything else went our well, so but it kind of us having water, which is good day kind of important, right, nonperishable food. Think about sanitation again. That power goes down, no water, and now your feces, your households feces is gonna add really quick. So you have that game plan for that. They sell them, are you accepted or your own except you know, right city or. Yeah, that's right, city is for a long time, for a long time too. What if the pipes crack on the ground, that kind of thing. Yeah, and even your own you might see compromise to it, but at least you could, you know, put stuff in it. Yeah, oh I got enough places. They have those buckets though, the emergency buckets. It's like a porter potty kind of you know, you sit on the bucket and go and we say that kind of thing on the boat. And but you you have a bag in there, and you have like the blue stuff they use and the porter potties and that, and you know that all helps me. Also, like you say, digging a hole, that's great. You can use the lie from your fires to put on top of that. You put ash on top of your specs there. Yeah, and it's going to help break that down a lot faster. So it's a way to kind of not destroy your areas medications. Of course, this is all basics, guys, go to my website check out the basics. We got this information like over and over again. Because it goes through so many different. So cash and you don't want to have like all on because you got it, so you want to make sure you got small bills as well as big bills, important documents in a waterproof bag. I really like that. That's a The waterproof bag is a new element and duve of course, you know, so that's smart. The back of power generator is great if you can afford to make that happen, and really affordable these days. And a way to cook without electricity. So if you have a grill something like that, great, but you might want like a smaller source. So I buy those you know, the little candles that go under catering tables. Yeah, like the little Yes, I buy those as well, just because. Clear to just pick them up. Yeah, like a super cheap store off. I've also been handed out to my mom. Yeah, to make sure they. Make they are. I love it. And then of course your go bag, and guys, you got to be able to carry this bag, so don't overdo it. Make sure you're physically fit enough to carry your bag. You know, importance first aid and hygiene and food and things like that. And I just see so many go bags that I'm like, you'd never be able to carry that thing at all, you know, let alone, like can you even get it on your back versus like I'm going to walk, you know, twenty miles because I got to get from a place where I can get help or something. So it's really important to think about that way communication plan so out of area contacts to know, to let them know you're okay, ways to reach out to them. And Helene sky I was called starlink. Starlink. I mean my mom would have had a heart attack if we didn't have access to a starlink. So that was really important for us to be able to communicate to each other. Uh. Solar battery radio or one of those ones that cranked, you know, one that doesn't need to have power to it to work. They make them in flashlight form too, so it's a flashlight and your radio, which is pretty cool. A paper contact list, Yeah, yeah, like how many. Yeah, how many of us have like a a dress book these days where we actually write things down in the address book. But that's that's very important. I would I have like four phone numbers that I know, So that's a problem, right, ham radio or walkie talkies if possible. And the mestastic that we talked about is awesome. That's what it's designed for. And yeah, Venezuela was a prime example of how fast your phone's gonna die. And then you don't have that too anymore. So, right, you can't charge it, so you. Might have a charge on your phone, but the cell towers may only have battery backup or generator back up for so long. And that's fine for a thunderstorm, but for simple major it's not going to. Kind of they might have to truck in those trailers that have cell towers, you know that the right that they raise. Also they have the solar battery chargers, the solar world chargers that look like cell phones. They work, and we had some that lasted probably eight years before they wanted to blow up, you know, like the Blithian battery in them. So I mean that they're good to have and smart to have around. I wouldn't just do a power pack back up. I would have one that can. Actually solar charge. That's right where it's. At the utility shut off skills. So usually the dude knows how to to do all this, and I'm no exception. My husband knows how to do all this, and he reminds me about once every six months how to do it all again because I'm like, what what do I do? Where do I go? Yeah, So not a bad idea to make up a book that anybody in the house could grab to get instructions on how to shut down your gas, your water, and your electrical first aid unessential like we said, didn't bloom, great place to go, there's tons of sources for it. And then how to use a fire extinguisher, right, so you pass, pull, aim, squeeze, shoot pass to use that fire extinguisher. Neighborhood map. So these are the area assessments. We talk about area assessments a lot. We've got a whole show on area assessments. So you can go back in the archive and yeah, on how to do that. But no, like in your immediate area, who's got medicals, who as a generator, who has well, who has heavy equipment tools like that, you know know where your assets are so that you can call on them if need be, and hopefully they ever be willing to help out because you got a little prepared community. Everybody's going to help each other, all. Right, and it's easy to do now, yes, right, be like. Hey dude, you got a tractor, I've got off my property. I don't know who you are exactly. So during the shaking, so one of the videos I watched, oh it was the one you sent me, the engineering one when they all ran out of the building and then it started shaking and everybody just flies across the did you see was great? Like looking at the courtyard of the Billies. People like yeah, like and it just yes, all at once. It was like watching them like they were on a boat. It was so drop cover and hold on. Uh they say get low. The doorway. Thing of standing in the doorway has pretty much been disproven. Now, if you can get outside safely, get out, but make sure you're not in your buildings, trees, or power lines. So basically, get low, protect your head, your neck, hold onto something sturdy. If you're in bed, stay there. Cover your head with a pillow. Protect your feet later. Have you seen those like tomb things that. Just yeah, yeah, I don't know. I would want to be stuck in there. Probably are you too bad? Oh shoot, oh man, you're stuck in there with your spouse and they Oh no really Okay, if you're driving, pull over, but stay in your vehicle because your vehicle has a wall cage, so it'll do a good job for protecting you. And then right, yeah, get away from the structures, the trees, the power lines. I like this one of the wheelchair users that I didn't really think about that, right, So lock your wheels, protect your head. What you need You need to do a hardcover release of your series. So you can put them over your head. Yeah, because you're out there reading it, boom, earthquake comes, bam it. It's protection you could probably using. Maybe I'll have to do a video on uh, like how much would it stop a bullet? To? Right? You can put it in your chest emergency. Uh about writing such a long series, right, because. You look like Fauci with all his masks on. That's right, that's right. Okay, So immediately after the earthquake, expect that more is coming, whether it's an aftershock or it's actually another earthquake, Like just expect that more is coming. So don't just be like, wow, that was something, I'm okay now, you know, get ready for the next one. Protect your feet, so broken glass and there are going to be everywhere. Make sure you have on good shoes and that'll protect your feet because you and if you don't have wheels, you good getting in they are. Check yourself, then your family, then neighbors and pets. So that's the same kind of logic of putting on your air mask in the airplane first. Yeah, yeah, because you can't put somebody else's on if you're passed down. So make sure that you're good before you go looking and checking on everybody else. Check for hazards. Is there gas mill? Is there electrical spark water leads? Use a flash light only. Do not use a candle if you smell gas. Yeah, yeah, I heard the don't flick if you're smelling gas. It should make sense. But you know you don't have light that kind of thing. It's just something we don't think about very I wouldn't you know if you're trapped, If you're trapped, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry. If you're trapped, that is horrible, but they say cover your nose, your mouth, tap in patterns of free, or use your whistle in patterns of free. So it's your ass. Plump pump, pump, dash, dash ash, plump, pump pump, And don't sit there screaming and screaming and screaming. You're gonna wear yourself out, right. Conserve your phone battery. So imagine you're stuck in this building. You go to use your phone, but you can't because all the lines are flooded and the Wi Fi is down and the cell lines are now. So turn it off and wait until maybe they get it back on, uh you know, a later time. And that way you're conserving that battery. Don't sit there and scroll social media. Right, I don't even know if you can. Yeah, right, Waiting for rescue, yeah, not a good idea. Move to higher ground immediately. If shaking was strong and you're in a coastal area, don't wait for a tsunami warning. Just get on getting on because there'll be that many people right behind you that didn't leave, that got in the tsunami warning, and now things will get clogged up. So if you're an earthquake zone and it's a coastal area and there's an earthquake, just start heading for highest out and ground. Better to be safe than storry on that one. Do not re enter the damaged buildings until they are checked already. So your neighborhood, this would be more for your SERT team, that kind of thing when professional helps delayed, like you know so many of the disasters we've seen what happened in Venezuela, your neighbors, yourself. You because you're sitting here listening to me talking about it, and you're going out and doing the research. You are the first line of defense. So priorities for the CIRT team. You want to do this one, Jim, you got it all lined up right here. Yeah. But yeah, so the first the first priority is you and your family. You don't just like run out and I got my little green vest on, I'm gonna run out into the street because I'm certain. Yeah, over zealousness, Yeah, yeah, it's a it's the first thing is to make sure you're ready and then your your family is safe, right, take care of them first, because hey, that's your that's. Your responsibility life, right, is you and your family. And b if you and your family are squared away, then that's less for the the official first responders have to worry about, right, that's less strain on the system. Most people that are ready and can take care of So that's the first thing. So don't feel like you have to run out. Make sure that you are squared away before you actually thinking about you know. Yeah, and then from that point you said, radiating out from there, so you know you're good, your your family is good, check your davor, you knows your day are good, and keep working out from there. Don't go, don't go any further than you feel safe. And they as they always pushed that you're you know, light rescue. Don't don't feel like you got to go into a building. If you feel unsafe about any kind of rescue, you know, into a building, into the wilderness, into floodwater, anything you feel. Do not go because now you're just creating. You're just going to create another victim for people to have to rescue. Light rescue. So that was the one thing that they stressed all over the place. The two main things that they stressed was you and your family, first parties and then light rescue. You know, we're not like. High treat you know, these these people that you know, these search and rescue crews that that's all they do, go from one emergency to the next. Them they're just harder, right, that's not you know, that's not the neighborhoods response. That's not the responsib And then you could from there you can help do basic middle medical triage. You know, their way bleeding. So you know, treat shock if you come up on that, so stuff like that, and you can help, and you can help make note of where people are that need business. So when you run across you know you see a cop body, you see an ambulance or somebody in you know, first responder gear, you could tell them okay, two blocks over h brick build or whatever, just describe it and good directions or good house address that say you know there's a female or there's a male or child or whatever, and give the best description of what you know is going wrong, so they. You know, they can yeah, they can go and help. Yeah, just running if they know that there's a serious person that they can get to and help instead of going to this empty building, this empty building, this up being building before they get to that, they might be able to send a crew right there. Yeah, that makes sense the trio. Yeah, so. It hazards. Yeah, yeah, addressed to me like small fires. If you have a means to put out a small fire and you can do it if it's a big fire. And they all did like like tag team, you don't just you have your buddy, you know, you don't just go in one person to put out a fire no matter what size. You have to have somebody to have your back. One people, one person working the distinguisher, one person just watching their back. You know. If something happens in situations, ah, well you're inside. You don't want to get trapped inside or you will still be able to get out, and your buddy is going to be the one watching for the surrounding because on the one task. That makes sense. Yeah, here this share the resources and the information. So you know, if you can share, share or if you if you can help with sharing, like resources that were piled by by the first. Of the first responders distributed. SS come in and yeah you community and then. Community. Yeah, communicate you know I was I already kind of will that in. Yeah, but communicate accurately so the first responders. Yet, No, you don't have to waste time trying to decode what your saying. You know, if you're clear and concise, you know, the red bick building, second from the corner, here's the house number, and what you saw, you know there seemed to be structurally sound, or there seemed to be the back corner was not structurally sound. But there's a person on the second story. I could see them through the window whatever, you know what I mean, And just be clear and concise, and with information that he's shown. Having that communication network set up ahead of time, where you already have like the relations with the police force, with that kind of thing, they're gonna trust you more on what you're saying, first. Of all, and you'll start getting just how they communicate, what they want to get, what they want to hear, and what they need. Yeah, and it doesn't is paper, pen paper, pencil, Sharply, it's good. It's a great resource while you're doing this because you might be able to write a house number and they make those water created too, like. Yeah, paper the path. So if you could write critical information down and they just hand that. Sheet of paper, you know, here's this, here's system, here's this, Yeah, and then you're not wait out of your memory, you know, because you you you went through three houses before. You Yeah, you're like, oh, which one was it? Because you're gonna be under stress too, of course, so your mind's not gonna be a full full power. So penant paper is gonna be a great resource during this. All right, So thirty to forty five minute action plan to do this week? Walk your house, check it out. What do you think is going to fall over? Like if you were to shake that box, what's gonna fall Move the heavy items low or strap them. Put together the bet side kit. You should have that anyway for sure. Locate the utilities so you know, make up a notebook. Write it down for your families if they have an idea, show them more the wrenches are, what wrench use and that kind of thing. Your family contact lists and important documents. Wouldn't it be cool if we could just hit a button on our phone and it will, like it print out what your contact list is people, and then it says, you know, practice that drop cover, hold on, but you know you can if your kids do. It would be fun for if you have the family. I'm sure adults understand how to drop cover and hold on, especially if you're gen X. We grew up on stop, drop and roll, like because you never knew when you're gonna light on fire as a fire. Yeah. So and then you know, look at your area, do you already have a certain team, because if you do join up, you don't even have to reorcreate the wheel then, So. I mean they have like training manuals and everything else. So it's not like you're recreating a wheel anyway, even if. You have to start your. Start your own, right, you're not, like you have manuals and stuff that you you know, like training instructions and and there's usually like regional or state coordinators sports that you can call in for help to. Yeah. And the good news is, like I say, you know, preparedness is just learning how to live confidently and not live here in America has always been country of people that have come together when we get really really backed against the wall. So I do have faith in that. We just had an amazing two hundred and fiftieth anniversary of our great nation, and I do have faith in that that, you know, if we were under the gun like that, that we could come together and make things work. So the only time would tell, but hopefully that's the case I'm gonna be a wishable thinker. Bright Enough was actually the one who told me that. He was like, you know what, it's never happened before. How bad is a disaster? Okay, let's go ahead and jump into some Changing Earth News. It's been a while so and there's been obviously some things going on. So for one second and we will Changing Earth News. I gotta find my idiot. All the videos I'm slacking, Dream. Survive, Thrive is Changing Earth News. So dramatic, right, James, hook me up? All right, Changing Earth News. So we're all the way back to May because we didn't do Changing Earth News in June. So there was a six point six along the southern East Pacific rim or the East Pacific Rise. There's been a lot of activity going on in the Ring of Fire. It is getting to the point where the West coast of the United States is under a target because we just haven't seen as many big earthquakes there. There was a couple, there were both fives, but I don't know that we've seen enough release from that area from the amount of pressure that's going on on the other side of the Ring of Fire. Late April to early May, there was heavy rainfall that triggered flooding and landslides in northeastern Brazil. Approximately eleven thousand people were to space displaced by that event. There was widespread inundation landslide activity reported, so this was affecting homes, roads, and local infrastructure. Early to mid May, we had flooded and landsides that continued in parts of the Dominican Republic due to heavy rainfall, effected around one hundred and seventy two thousand people. So this is some big rains that are coming down, damaging homes, damaging infrastructures. And there was also flooding in landslide activity in eastern Africa, the southern suit and the Congo Gabond parts of Zambia and southwestern Ethiopia. Very severe drought conditions of western and central Angola caused a notable crop damage and livestock death due to reduced water availability. To Again, you're having these extreme events just so close to each other, where you're going to have flooding one place and severe drought right next door. It's really hard to move water from one area to another. And this we're going to see this continue to heat up a little bit more as we walk into the future. On this planet. Marine heat wave activity persisted and intensified in parts of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, contributing to broader ocean temperatures. So this is the AOC current that's out in the Atlantic. I don't know if you've seen like day after tomorrow, but I've kept eyes on it, and it is starting to check. Two will affect climate, but also if it shuts down, it can cause some severe, severe problems on our planet. So that's what we've had our eyes on watching and what's going to happen there, because it definitely is changing right now. Mid May and onward, there was notable early wildfire activity in the United States. This happened in Kansas Mide Lake Complex fire and associated fires. They burned approxically ninety two thousand acres in Mead County and surrounding areas with evacuation and property threats. We also had more global wildfire activity. It increased in parts of Europe and Asia, with early fires happening there as well. Late May, we saw tropical Storm jangm formed in the western Pacific. It affected the Japanese islands as it persisted in early June with a broad circulation and minimal but no notable impacts. They take a lot of storms over there, and it was only a tropical storm, not a cyclone, so they're used to that kind of activity. June eighth, there was a seven point eight earthquake that struck offshore in the Philippines. They've been getting just really really annihilated by earthquakes over there right now. It triggered tsunami warnings. There was waves up the one point four to eight meters in some location. It had significant impacts in the Philippines and parts of Indonesia. The structural damage, evacuations, and it affected the marine environments. There were some major land slides, major landslides and de breeze flowed in those vulnerable areas, so we did see some Usually you have to push to like an eight eight point earthquake or above to see a lot of those tsunamis. That one was getting pretty darn closed, so it did cause a little lot of activity there. Mid June, this is approximately the eighth to the fourteenth, there was multiple flooding, lands slide and storm events across the Acean countries. Flooding reported to Indonesia. They see a lot of activity like this this time of year, but it was a little bit upstep. You know, Western Java, all the islands out there, we're seeing a lot of flooding going on. I don't know if I ever go visit that area, but it's beautiful, man. They take a lot of natural disasters out there. Thailand, Vietnam also saw significant flooding, strong winds, landslides, this kind of thing. There's volcanic unrest at Bar Darbunga in Iceland. Bar Darbunga just sounds like an Icelandic bird with significant seismic swarm out there at four point eight, with hundreds of earthquakes in the caled area in the Caldera, raising the aviation color too, yeah, before returning back down to background levels. June tenth to the eleventh there was major winter storm that brought snowfall the high altitude sections of the Andes along the Argentina Chili border. This created has best travel conditions. Additional landslide activity happened up in those mountainous regions. June seventeenth to eighteenth, Tropical Storm Arthur formed in the northwestern Gulf of Mexico near the Texas coastline. Brought in some heavy rainfall flood threats to parts of Louisiana and Texas before moving inland. Unfortunately, I didn't see any of that were in here. It would have been nice we might have gotten some minor scattered storms into major June nineteenth onward, the fires in Utah lit up. The Iron Fire in Utah came first, Juab County and surrounding areas, burning a approximately forty one eight hundred and forty two acres with evacuations and property threats. June twenty second, the Cottonwood Fire lit up in the United States and Utah, burning approximately ninety three thousand, nine hundred and nineteen acres. That one did destroy one hundred and fifty structures, prompting evacuations at Eagle Point and surrounding communities with rapid growth of tens of thousands of acres in a single day. Big fire out there. June twenty fourth, that was the double earthquake event in Venezuela that we've been talking about all day. Widespread building collapses, infrastructure damage, particularly affecting Caracas and lag Era lack Muira areas. Associated landslides reported in other affected regions as well. June twenty six, the Babylon Fire in Utah lit up San Juan County, burning approximately eighty thousand plus acres with on going activity and evacuations late June. This would be like the twenty seventh of the twenty ninth. Ninth, the Snyder Fly Fire complex lit up along the Colorado Utah border in the United States, burning over thirty thousand acres with none contained. Initially resulted in multiple firefighter fatalities during response operations. That think we lost three firefighters in that event. June twenty ninth, the Aspen Acre Fires in southern Colorado and the United States lit up, burning approximately twenty two thousand and fifty thousand acres with expanding evacuation notices and threats to communities. June thirtieth, we had an X one point one class solar flare that came out of the active region of the sun. It was at full halo CME with earth directed components. That one did arrive on the fourth. So we saw so increased activity yesterday from from all the monitoring that goes on there. Late June there was unseasonal cold Arctic air that brought down snowfall at the higher elevations and the Rockies. So in Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming they were seeing snow, with reports of snow in areas near Jackson, Montana, up to sixteen inches in some locations. We were down here roasting, but over there they were getting some snow. It was crazy. It's been hot. June it turned on the heat. Just before July. France experienced unusually high temperatures with record heat waves affecting part of the country and it contributed to increased wildfire risk and agricultural stress over there as well. Late June to early July, flash flooding and landslides alerts were issued across large parts of Taiwan. This affected China as well due to heavy rains with risk to home, agricultured roads, additional regional flooding, landslides and parts of Asia. Marine heat wave continued to intensify in parts of the Pacific, contributing to those ecosystem streps. July first and second, there was additional CMEME activity from earlier solar flares that happened on the Sun and it was contributing to those anomaies. We saw them coming in back to back, but the only one that was the full halo was that x one point one. But we do typically see an increase of seismic activity when we have that kind of CME activity coming at US, and in fact we did. We saw a six point zero earthquake in Japan and multiple five point or five plus events the Pacific region and Tonga, Indonesia and the South Sandwich Islands Chinn's favorite. And July third and fourth, we had a G two to G three strong geomagnetic storm that affected the Earth with ongoing solar activity. Yet we had a couple more this morning, but they were both firing off the side of the Sun that's not going to affect the Earth. Significant wildfire activity continues across the western and interior United States, multiple large incidents in Utah, Colorado, and Arizona, and other states such as New Mexico, Nevada, Wyoming, and Idaho. So bluckily, you know, I haven't seen California up on that list. I guess next week I should go pull down some of the national wildfire numbers and we can take a look at exactly what that looks like. We're getting to that time of the year, about five hundred thousand acres in the US burning peak periods during June and early July with dozens of uncontained fires expecting to burn about three million acres nationally, so we'll keep an eye on that see how that pans out. It's as well above historic averages. We've just been getting a lot of really hot weather across the country, so we do have to stay wildfire ready. If you want to know how to get wildfire ready. Impacts include evacuation, structure loss, you know, or firefighters out there doing their job, trying to do the best they can put these things out, getting killed and whatnot and injured. Widespread smoke affecting air quality. And we also had the sand from the Sahara come into the Texas region, so we have that going on as well. And then the big story is just the heat, you know, on the East coast of the United States as well as over there in Europe, and they don't have the amount of air conditioning and systems like that we have in place down here in Texas especially, so that's the changing Earth news. I didn't really look at my volcano numbers very much. I guess we can go pull that really quick. It's been a long show today, so thanks for sticking around. So there you go. We can see here in Europe we got a couple that are actively erupting right now. I always keep my eye on Cappy flag Ray. This is the super super volcano that's over there. That's an important one. The reason why I wanted to share it is because there are just tons of numbers here. You can see what's happening in Africa and the East Indian or the Indian Ocean. This is a lot of activity to see over there and that area. It's just not something Indonesia not not super unusual to see it lit up like that, but you know they're all going look at this' that's a big time. And then Pacific Ocean again over here, not a whole bunch to see, but it's just a lot. Like it's not a big deal to see activity over there, because it happens a lot, but to see that much activity is also a surprise to look it over here. In North America even we have one even erupting up in Alaska, and usually those are just on the showy minor activity area of things. So that's pretty interesting South America. That is a lot. Get accounts real quick when you guys are checking this out. On like a hundred and four. Yeah, we're up there, so this is a little concerning. I expect it to go up even more because of the amount of earthquake activity that we've been seeing. So I expect this to increase even more. There are a lot of volcanoes that I never see on your home reef killawet is always on there. It's usually making some noise. But well, I mean you can check is always on here. But yeah, okay, let's also check out so Sanchorini. They say when Visu well Igar Casey said, when Vesuvius and Pele are going at the same time, then you know, watch out the west coast the United States and here's Pele. But we haven't seen the cubs up here in a long time. So so another another month. I'm looking okay there, Okay, let me go ahead and see what the earthquake reports looks like, because it's gonna look it perfect. See more a volcano discovery, And I guess it pays off to be watching live because you need to check it out. With me. And we're behind the curtains. Yeah. Yeah, this is where I always go to see what's going on, and you give you all kinds of advertisements because they want help and it's given it to me in Spanish see see lots of earthquakes. Okay, it doesn't matter. I know what numbers and that's our total key point oher or bigger about twenty thousand, nineteen thousand, five hundred and seventy eight for May, and just to compare, let's see what we're doing in April, just so we have a conspira comparison. Okay, so went down with like five thousand, so that's a little downtick from April to May, and then in June, and June was also a downtick, so that's kind of impressive. No. Nine plus No eight plus eleven six pointers are bigger one seven pointers, so they got more intense. But we did the total number wasn't there, So that'll be interesting to see what July looks like. Well, there you go. So we had a long show today, but I really yeah, like you say, when something's going on on the earth like that, it's definitely an opportunity to be able to learn some from so.
