Happy Saturday, PBN family. What is up? You hear those? What is it? The Brutage Cloche. I don't know if that's right or not. Brutage cloche. The bells, baby, the bells. I used to wake up on days like this, and the cool autumn air would be coming in my bedroom in Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania, when I was just a wee bit. You know what I mean? Pre-teen, even. And the bells at the end of my short little street, 8th Street, would be ringing for the church. We had a church right there at the end of the street. We used to sneak in and look around and, oh, my God, what is this, and run out. But that sound, those bells, man, they chimed like that. It would wake me up down there on 8th Street. You think about memories like that. You think about what memories have you lost, what memories are in danger of being lost. You know, what things will be lost with time because things will be lost with time. I'm telling you, I've been smacked in the face with this Family Codex thing. And there's a reason for it. All roads have led to this thing, guys. You've got to understand. Now, the good news is I've got a new idea about how I can give people even more access to their own Family Codex. And we're going to talk about that. But first, I want to tell you about the Year in Review 2021. We have a PBN Best Of up right now. The Year in Review 2021. You should definitely listen to it. Six years ago, what were we talking about? What were we saying? The things that were mentioned in that podcast are going to blow your mind. Or in that collection of podcasts. It's basically clips pulled from podcasts. Some of the best podcasts of the year 2021. And when I do my Year in Review this year, we're going to do clips as well instead of doing episodes. I did episodes... The last couple years. But I think that more clips. More shows. Better. It's better. It's a better representation of what was done. So. You know. That's what's happening at PBN today. Tirelessly. You know. Even as beat as I was yesterday. And I was beat. I'm a little under the weather. Not anymore. I don't know. I wasn't right yesterday. I don't know if it was the workout. And the sauna. I don't know. Something was a mess. Yesterday. Little allergies in the morning. Something like that. Whatever the case may be. I found myself even at 10 o'clock p.m. Still chewing on this. Still chewing on this outline. And getting the outline of this. Typical family codex. Sort of the way I see it. All hammered out and ironed out. And looking good. And it's close. It's pretty close. But in going over the outline. I said you know if I. if I can figure out how to maybe give the outline with a selection of tips for each chapter, ideas, tips, DIY sort of things, additions, if I could do that, then what I might be able to do is I might be able to hand that off to you. In other words, I might be able to hand this sort of packet off of information off to you, to the DIY creatives in the crowd who are saying, you know, I don't want to get into a pretty deep project. You know, creating a family codex is going to be a deep project. It's probably going to take a month at least. And there's going to be a lot of back and forth between me and you if we're going to do this thing right. Or.... Or you have access to this beautiful collection, this outline, this idea of what the book should look like and tips on how to create each chapter yourself. If you're into that sort of thing. You know what I mean? And I just think that. I don't think that, guys. I know that. I know... I just want you to understand why I'm here. It's just too many coincidences why I'm here doing this thing with the Family Codex. It's just too many coincidences, right? You start your life off like I've always just been a looker. You know what? I don't know how else to say it. What do they call them? you know what I mean just one of those people that takes notice one of those people that notices things notices the change of the seasons and sits there and thinks about it you know and notices people and people's behaviors and the changing of people what the importance of the value in people even people who seem invaluable to a society there's value in there that I recognize even at a young age I fell in love early I don't know if that was part of this whole journey or not but it seems like it you know I fell in love early, early, early. You know, like 14 years old, deep in love. 17 years old, in love again. This time for the home run. You know what I mean? Married. And in the midst of all of that, I'm learning how to cook. Going on this culinary journey. Finding out that at the core of every family, there are these recipes. There are these, you know, traditions. There are these core things that are all built around food. And people pay unbelievable amounts of money to come see you cook for them. And, you know, live in that world for a little while. Tie it to your family life and understand the value of good food. And then start to see the value of recipes. And, like, as life goes on and parents age and grandparents die, you see, oh, nobody knows how to make Mamaw's recipes anymore. Who's got Mamaw's recipes? And the same thing's happened with my own mother. Who's got all mom's recipes in one spot? You know, who can make that, well, my sister can actually make that crazy vegetable pasta mom used to make. But who can make all the things mom used to make, right? What went into mom's meatballs? What went into mom's burgers? How did mom make that apple pie? What was mom's apple pie crust? It was one of the best I've ever had in my whole life. Gone. You know, that's just what it is. You stumble into prepping, you stumble into understanding all this kind of stuff about survival and how survival and preparedness are not these new exciting skills that everyone has to learn. They're things that we have to relearn the majority of. And then you start to realize that all of this prepping and all of this survival, this stuff all leans into something, bleeds into something else as well. You start to realize that humans have gone through something of a 150-year amnesia, right? So then I wind up at this concept, the concept of the 150-year amnesia. The 100-year amnesia sounds better. The 100-year amnesia, right? What happened? How did we forget everything? How did we lose everything? How did we forget everything? So this is the path I'm on, guys, right? I get to the 100-year amnesia. How do we forget everything? How do we not know what any trees are, what any medicine is, what any food is, what any this is, what any that is, how to cook, how to clean, how to love, how to marry and stay married, how to raise children? How did we forget everything? And just imagine me with my hands on my head sort of rocking it to and fro in this sort of frenzied state trying to figure out how did we forget, how did we forget? In 100 years, in one or two generations, where did it all go? Comfort and convenience. And then I open my eyes to see we're staring down the barrel of the digital gun. We're staring down the barrel of the AI gun. We're staring down the barrel of the cloud weapon. And what have we done? We've taken the majority of our data, the majority of our videos, the majority of our images, the majority of our good times, experiences. We put them on a blog. We put them in a cloud. We put them on a digital thing. And you know, the real sad, the real sadness in all this is not that, oh no, I lost that picture of Carter. That was when he was doing that thing. I lost that picture of my daughter. I lost that video of my wife. I lost it, right? That's not the saddest thing. The saddest thing is when they go looking for it. Remember we used to go here all the time. How come we don't have any pictures of that? We don't have any videos, pictures, nothing. Well, when the When the great cloud hack happened, mom and dad lost all their digital pictures. And then they died. We were so young, we don't remember the stories. I remember them a little bit, but I don't remember all the details. Mom and dad have all the details. And they're dead. They're gone. And that chunk of life is gone. But moreover, and more importantly, is how were we raised? What were the rules? Rules. What were the regulations? What were the hard lines? What were the lessons that we learned? What were the things that we did to pass our time? What were the games that we played as a family? Because believe me, folks, I open up that closet in the back room and I see games and I see video games and I see things that we played that I completely forgot. about. And remember, this isn't about me creating a codex for me to look back on and go, what a good job I did. This is about my son when he's my age being able to look back and say, oh my God, we used to play this game grounded for life we used to play this all the time man this was so fun we used to always make fun of pup up we always always been great these stories these homes right there's a section in this codex all about houses houses you've lived in rooms streets street numbers friends names just all the stall the details you know what i mean what did the neighborhood do together what all of these things that you capture and the most important thing about this whole family codex is that it will live in your hands on your shelf put it in an emergency bag if you're worried about it right and on top of that you know we we're building out the recipes we're building out The motto of the family, the lineage of the family, the genealogy, the stories of the aunts and the uncles and the grandparents and the great-grandparents and all this kind of stuff. So that your kids, your grandkids, their grandkids, so on and so on. It doesn't matter how much artificial intelligence manipulates the internet. It doesn't matter how much or what type of technology your grandkids use. When search engines are gone and searching the vast amounts of data on the internet, it's an impossible feat. And all you have is the ultra-filtration of artificial intelligence. Who was Sharon Kimball? Who was she? Who was she? Well, we run that through Claude and see if he tells us what we need to know. And maybe we'll find out some things. Because look, if you ask, think about my perspective. If the reptilian overlords have their way with artificial intelligence. Right now you go to Claude and you ask who James Walton from PBN is and you get a really nice, happy, healthy explanation of who I am. But the way this world is going and the things that I stand for here at PBN and the way my life could turn out, you don't know. And you don't know what could be represented, how you could be represented to generations henceforth once you're gone. Right? He was an anti-vaxxer who put millions of lives at risk with his dangerous podcast where he promoted things like anti-government sentiment that led to the great civil war of 2035. Like, you have no idea. Right? Right? I really believe I was driven here. I do believe I arrived here for... Why have I been ghostwriting people's books? Why have I been spending... I mean, I've got bills to pay, right? Let's go with that. But why have I been... Why did I go down this path where I started meeting with people one-on-one and talking to them and saying, okay, how do you want this book to look? What do you want this to be like? And creating this sort of skill set. All these things, man, over all these years have led me to this... This... And in the back of my mind, always noting that the most powerful entity in the world is the American family. I'm watching them right now. It's picturesque. I'm parked in a parking lot here. And Publix. And I see the families. They're pulling out. They're pouring out of cars. It's beautiful. The trees are red and orange and fiery. And I see the families going to and fro and I look at them and I say, you know, if every one of these families had a codex, they could pass it down from generation to generation and know every detail. Not every detail, but all the important details, all the important stories, right? All the important things. My grandfather was a silver, I'm sorry, he was a diamond belt boxing champion. He won the diamond belt, which was the Golden Gloves before the Golden Gloves. He won the Diamond Belt. Okay. How many generations? Does my son know that? And does my son know that enough that he's going to remember that? My grandfather killed the guys who killed the men in the Bataan Death March. The men who conducted the Bataan Death March were run to death by my grandfather and his men. Will I remember that on my deathbed enough to tell my son this is what pop-up did? You know what I mean? This is what my pop-up did. Probably not. Probably not. It'll just die. It'll just go away. I don't know what's going to happen with the Digital World PBN family, but I don't like the looks of it. And we've invested and built everything into it. And I keep thinking about what should people do. And I've been talking about it for a year at least, right? More than that, slowly make your way off grid. Slowly start assembling your solar panels, your generators, whatever it is, your renewable energy by any means. And understand that life off grid and power generation of your own is, no matter if you're urban or suburban or rural, could be a real valuable thing. And water collection and so on, man. So all of this sort of concept has led me here. It's led me to this idea. If it all goes belly up, if this digital experiment goes belly up, will the human race go with it? I don't think so. But there will be some tough times. And what's the most valuable thing you have, right? The most valuable thing you have outside of time is the history of your family, the lineage, the genealogy. Who were these people? We swabbed our mouths and gave it over to China, all the information to find out that we're 2% Egyptian and 1% Rastafarian. And that tells us something, but it damn sure won't tell you what my codex will tell you about your family. Now when this thing hits, this thing is going to hit. And I'm only one man. So I'm telling you that now. The idea is out there. It's spinning and it's whirling. If you want To work one-on-one with me to create your family codex, IntrepidCommander at Proton.me. IntrepidCommander at Proton.me. And we'll talk it all through. You hear about something like this, automatically what pops into your head is, Oh, I want one. I'd love to give one to my husband or my wife for Christmas or maybe my parent for Christmas. I'm only one guy. I've never done this before. Next week I'm going to start writing my family's own codex. So I'll be working on a codex. I'm not going to take any writing clients through the end of the year. If this thing starts popping off. And it's all going to go to the codex creations. But there's only so many hours a day. There's only so many I'm going to be able to make. When I get the internals polished. And the questionnaires polished up. I'll make sure you know that they're available. And you can DIY one of these yourself. It'll be easy. much more cost effective but it'll be work on your end you know what i mean so you have to figure out if if that's what you want to do um and look i don't i know i don't mean to harp and harp and harp on this thing i know it's probably the third time you've heard about it well maybe not this might only be the second in my head in my head this is playing in repeat so i don't want to you know go insane with the uh idea and drive you crazy especially if you're like i don't want one period But what I do want to do is get the idea out there, make sure that it's clear, make sure you understand. You'll wind up with a hardcover book with all of this information about your family. Past, future, present, right? The whole thing. Something you'll be able to hand down no matter what happens in this crazy world. I'm going to follow this thread, folks, because I really do feel like this is the thread for me. It's a very strange feeling. I haven't felt it in a long time. and everything's pointing to it, and it's just like, wow, this could overtake everything. I don't know. But I'm going to follow it. I'm going to follow it, and we're going to get as many families some serious stories that they can read to their children, some serious memories, some serious information and wisdom and tradition and so on. Yeah, man. If every family had one of these things, what a beautiful world it would be, right? It's time for some good news around here. Talk to you soon, PBN family. Thanks for everything.
