Big, New & Exciting Things at PBN!

Pbm family we conducted our first weekly hear me capital w weekly uh emergency comms net I don't know exactly which words I'm going to string together every time I mention that thing. POC, Emergency Comms Net, Skycom, Emergency Preppers, National Radio Net. For me, it's an alternate communications check-in. That's what it is for me. I think primary alternate communication should be pretty solid. And then your contingency and emergency tend to be those things that, in my opinion and in my experience with my own plan, are a little more wishy-washy. They tend to change more often. But from the moment I learned about the POC technology from Chin, I said this is alternate. Because this you can put in the hands of everybody in your family and they can use it automatically, right? You send your kid to school with a ham radio. Good luck. Good luck, buddy. Um... We had 11 people check in last night across, I think it was about five states. Okay. Very orderly. No problems. Really a simple, fun time. The dad joke sort of... The importance of adding the dad joke to the radio check was to make it fun, right? Because a standard radio check, you know, you get into 20, 50 people, whatever it is, probably going to be a little bit of a headache. We're going to add things... to this radio check also that uh give us the ability to simulate a little chaos right the standardized sort of check-in method is good but chin brought up a great comment at the end of the check-in um about you know if something's going on you might not be able to have such an orderly operation so we may simulate some chaos in each one of these checks or a couple checks per month just so that we have experience in dealing with that, right? Like, like some serious things have happened across the nation. It's going to be tough for people to hold their tongue. People are probably going to want to talk over one another and managing that on the back end through a push to talk system where everybody's pushing buttons at the same time. You know, we've got to, we've got to practice that. I mean, you just got to, you got to learn that. You got to do that. You got to have the reps. Um, So, you know, what this really represents for me, guys, is a quick and easy way for you to take hold of your emergency communications plan if you need to, right? I'm going to link down the Skycom PTT. If you want to get involved, real simple, okay? We're meeting every Sunday. They've got a radio over there for $ 199. That's your lowest entry, $ 199. Huge success yesterday. The first of its kind. Um. We did a quick after action report in the signal chat, the PBN signal chat. And yeah, now we're in a position where we move on to next Sunday. We add some things. We verify some things. And we just keep improving. We keep improving. And you know, and I know, and everybody involved knows that we have this alternate line. And to be quite honest with you, like, I don't know. We have this Preppers National Radio Net, right? So it's not necessarily PBN's own net. We could make that. That probably wouldn't be a problem at all. But why don't we just pee on it while we have it? You know what I mean? Why not just take a leak on it and bark our territory and make it our own? You know what I mean? While we have it. Because I think, you know, why not? Why not? We're first... in line over there right we're kind of founding it and putting the most effort into it we might as well take ownership of this thing and that's kind of what I'm looking to do by being on there every Sunday right so I'm really excited about it there's a lot of stuff going on in the background I want to talk to you about today I just you know the NPM has been huge the NPM has been a massive success as well in all honesty We actually don't have a guest for tonight, so I'm going to get on tonight and do the show I was planning on doing Saturday, which is just the breakdown of all the deals and all the stuff available to you through our National Preparedness Month guests, because we've got a lot for those of you who want to get involved. We've got some big stuff upcoming. We've got a show that's going to drop Friday. You're going to notice a recurring theme. Okay, two recurring themes. Number one, it's a good time to be a PBN. All right, now's the time to spread the word. Now's the time to let people know. We have these sort of, over the years of owning and operating the Prepper Broadcasting Network, I see these patterns. You know what I mean? There are lulls in things that we're doing where we have built out a set of shows and a process. And then we go with that process and, you know, we just run those shows because consistency is what we're best at. And we run those shows and we do our thing as a podcast network, right? And then we start to hit an uptick. And this usually is a collective uptick. It's usually not just me, right? But we hit this uptick where sound changes, intros change, themes change, new shows are added, new hosts are added. All this kind of new stuff starts to take place and we begin sort of a, you know, a rise. And, uh, we're there. We're, we're right there. Like we're, we're right at the beginning of one of these rises with the comms network. We've got two new shows to announce. We've got Dave Jones, the NBC guy who was stepping into a, uh, well, he's actually stepped into a couple of different roles. We haven't really heard from him on the, on one. And I need to talk to him about that to clear the air. That's neither here nor there for you guys. But, um, you know, he's going to be dropping the board game. We got Sarah Hathaway. God only knows she could be on TV in terms of the changing earth, uh, You know... TV series... That would be huge... You know... So sometimes you push this rock up the hill... And then it's... You know... Somehow you get some kind of... Anti-gravity inertia going... And you just rock with it... You know what I mean? We're there... It's gonna be a great holiday season... You know what I mean? Oh... And on top of all of that... On top of all of that... I don't know how quick a turnaround this will be... I don't know how much of a reality this even is... But... You know... For a long time... I've been... going to prepper camp and other prepper shows and you know just to do existing in that world and watching it and looking at it and adding my own insanity to the to the concept and I think I've hammered down I'm not committing to anything But a lot of people have come up to me in the last year, year and a half and have said we should do a show. You should do a show. You should do a show in Virginia. So on and so forth. I do know a lot of guys in Virginia who are preppers now. Lots. You know what I mean? It's a lot. It's a serious Virginia community. Like a serious prepper community in Virginia. You think of Virginia, think of this purple state that was run by Abigail Spanberger. It couldn't be further from the truth. when you really look at the people in the state of Virginia. If we were to do some surgery and operate on the state and remove the cancerous tumor that is Northern Virginia from this state, you would look at it very differently. All that said, I spent a couple hours this morning That's not true. I spent about an hour this morning over just some black pumpkin by Disaster Coffee building out what really sort of the penultimate LARPing apocalypse show slash event slash, you know, this sort of concept would look like. I've had a lot of ideas over the years. I've added them and multiplied them. The people I've met at shows, the sort of greater PBN family now that exists in terms of businesses and teachers and all that kind of stuff has really begun to create a storm in my mind that looks like what could be sort of the peak you know what I mean of one of these shows and I don't even know if I want to call it a show and call it more of an event but what would it really look like to do this thing to the best of its ability and to really get people involved from the start to the finish and And to really test people to some degree. And make it a bit more interactive, right? And to really have an awesome time. Should we pursue this event? And I feel like we're going to. Maybe this year, maybe next year. I would like, I mean, I got a year, right? We look at it, it's fall. September, October-ish would be perfect for what I want to do. we could look at this as a full year turnaround time to bring this show to life not and when i say show i don't mean podcast i mean an event right flesh and blood you come and see and all that kind of stuff and do but the doing is the big part right the doing is the big part and uh yeah we'll leave it at that for now would you come I guess the big question is, would you come? Would you make a trek to Western Virginia, maybe? Something like that? Would you make a trek to Western North Carolina in October? Would you bring an... Would you bring an EDC? A viable EDC with you? Would you arrive with an EDC in the woods in October and make an attempt at survival with me and my friends? Ha ha ha! And also have a good time and a great show and, you know, some amenities and that kind of stuff. But, yeah. Yeah, there's a world that is building in my mind. And it is one that not only can we learn at an event like this from great speakers and guests and all that. But there's this world of sort of the camp side, right? And the community side and the gathering side. And also the LARPing side, right? That is a big piece of the puzzle. You can have a lot of fun. You can learn a lot. You can really simulate a lot. If we're willing to have a good time and do a little simulation. So as I mentioned, we're on this sort of uptick. I can't get into the news, guys. I can't do it. I can't talk about the Strait of Hormuth anymore. You know what I mean? I can't. I'm really coming to my wits end with the talking about things. Like, I don't know how I'm going to get back into Red Beacon Daily News. I really don't. Because the Daily News is just such a bore to me right now. It really is. And it's because, what it really is, is because I want to physically affect something. You know what I mean? I don't want to sit here and go, we should stop the Iran war. We need to get out of the Iran war. The gas price is too high. We need to, we need to, we need to, we need to, we need to. I don't know, man. It just feels like, what it feels like to me, and this is not a knock on you guys, because you guys are great and we love you. But when I'm having my political woes, it feels like I'm standing in front of a cement foundation and just yelling at it. You know what I mean? A brick wall, just screaming at it. Knowing full well, like, all I'm doing is exhausting myself so that I can continue on with my day. Nothing's going to change. You know? I've got thoughts about how to change that, too. And how to fix that, too. And it's about less news and more action. Right? So rather than just hitting you with a waterfall of things to concern yourself with, maybe we just tackle one thing in a week's time. News-related... And really take action on it. Do you know what I mean? I don't know. Or maybe we just forget about it all together. Right? Maybe we... Leave it all behind. Yeah. Because I'd much rather do the things that we're doing right now. We're having so much more fun. Living. Leaves turning. Autumn happening. Look for my sub stack post. The Promise of Autumn. I reposted it today because it's a great little... It's a great little number on, you know, the magic of the God-given seasons, man. Right? We're lamenting the cost of living. We're lamenting the corruption of governments, you know, the whole nine yards. Yet, beauty is unfolding in its highest form outside right now. We're about to hit a real cold sort of, A real sort of writer's wonder is about to unfold here in Richmond, Virginia. Actually, it's in the process of unfolding. I've been out back since... I've been out my backyard with my laptop since probably 8 in the morning because it's just a breeze is coming in and the wind's in the east, right? The mist's coming in. Do you know the movie? And it's just, you know, it's here. It's... It's going to rain the next few days. Real torrential rain. Overcast. Cold. Windows open. Wind blowing. Coffee pots and candles lit. I'm liable to write a book in the next three days. You never know what could happen. I could wake up and just like the finger of God is running through my heart. And I may go crazy and write an entire book. Cast aside work for three days straight. Forget about it all. It can have that kind of effect on me. So So Could You Survive, I have all the elements of the Could You Survive show ready to go. It's going to have an interesting look and sound to it. Okay? Because we're trying to add some fun to this whole world. Not just PBN. I mean, we do have our fun. But I'm talking about the world at large. Judson Carroll and I were talking the other day on our big long diatribe. And we came to the conclusion that one of the biggest problems with society is nothing's fun anymore. Everything's a goal. Everything's productivity. Everything's a workout. Everything's a headache, a complaint, a critique. You can't buy a thing without critiquing it and reviewing it and schmewing it and pewing it. You can't read a book without what's wrong with it. It's just this whole weird thing about like... I remember being a kid and you get a new toy and you play with it. And then when you're done playing with it, you put it in the toy box and go do something else. You didn't look it over and, well, what I would have done different is... You know what I mean? And Judson and I basically came to the conclusion that the world is just lacking in fun. The fun has been sucked out of the world. And you go on X and you see why. You can see it very easily. Go on social media and see why. Everything's a critique. Everything's a review to get you to buy something or to be angry. You go on X, everything's a political complaint about one thing or another to get you angry. It's vampiric is what it is. I mean, if we're in the nearing Halloween right it's it's a vampiric endeavor the content creation community largely right we want to suck off a little bit of your energy time money and move on right so I don't know I'm gonna leave you with this today oh wait I didn't talk about the other show it could so could you survive is gonna be just that it's gonna be a profile of a disaster and Questions asked to the listening audience. We're not going to start with a live listening audience. We may never do a live listening audience. These shows are both going to be pre-recorded shows. Sort of production... Up the production a bit pre-recorded. But we're going to ask these questions of yourself. And my goal with Could You Survive is that you have a good time. You learn a little bit about a disaster and the effects therein. And then you also... can walk away maybe with a little list of things you want to improve, right? The other show I just finished the intro for, I just finished creating, it's cool, is called Contingency Tech. You know, Contingency Tech is a show that has to be here on PBN. It's a show that a year ago, if you told me about it, I'd say, I'm paralyzed in fear. Paralyzed. I have no idea how to do a show called Contingency Tech. I'm not a tech guy. Now, Just a year later, I've met so many people. I've found so many things that do so many different preparedness-related things that, yeah, we're going to do a short 15 to 20-minute contingency tech show weekly. And, yeah, that's going to be that. Well, I'm not going to commit to weekly. Contingency tech is going to be a show that fills out with technology. When the technology sort of quota of three to four segments worth of tech fills out, that's when we'll do a contingency tech. But suffice it to say, man, there's just so much. There's so many people doing amazing things that we could bring on a show like that. That's it. You know what I mean? That's where we are. That's where we are. You don't have to get into it. You don't have to use AI-powered tech to prepare yourself. But I did have a strange sort of thought last night. AI is coming. You know, the darkest and most terrifying sort of... Well, it's here. It's not coming. It's here. The darkest and most terrifying thought is that it's going to overwhelm humanity in several ways. And that'll be it for us, right? Maybe it does. Maybe it doesn't. But to prepare for it, why wouldn't you use it, I guess is the question. It's sort of like Terminator 2, right? If you're going to take on Skynet, which we probably will in some form or fashion, maybe not traditionally like you're thinking, but through regulation and through protest and through that kind of thing, and through what we choose to do and not do, and through you know, our sort of connection to the grid and those things. If you're going to take on Skynet, well, it'd be a hell of a lot easier if you could take it on with your own, you know, T-800 Arnold Schwarzenegger robot, right? And I think that's something to consider. That doesn't mean I'm going to go, you know, I'm not going to have, well, I don't know what I'm going to have and not have in the future, to be honest with you. I'm not going to say make any commitments. Who knows? You know what I mean? What I do know is, you know, if you're going to prepare for some massive cultural and technological change that's going to happen. Yeah, why not employ the force multiplier that is artificial intelligence and technology at large? Right? I'm not talking about making creative thumbnails for YouTube videos that everyone can tell is AI. You know what I mean? I'm not talking about changing, producing podcasts using artificial intelligence. I'm talking a lot bigger than that. I'm talking about You know, using technology that's created by people who've spent hours upon hours building something incredibly effective. You know what I mean? Like our friends at Be Prepared Solutions and, you know, our friends at GetReady.team. These are two great examples of leveraging artificial intelligence to really, you know, to really push you, to really give you some power in this world. So contingency tech is going to be about those things, right? What's out there? Do you want to off-grid AI and offline AI for your house? I don't know. I'm going into that thing with an open mind and I want to see stuff. I may tell you if I'm using a certain thing, if I've decided to go, I pay for this service, I think this service matters, you know what I mean? Or I really believe in this service like I do with Be Prepared Solutions, Be Aware Dashboard in particular, right? Incredible service. You talk about, what do I want to look at in a day? Do I want to look at the drudge report, which is going to just do nothing for me? Or do I want to pop my Be Aware dashboard up and see what the hell's going on today in my area? What's happened overnight? What's the crime situation? What's the internet outage, power outage, water levels, the whole thing? What's going on in my area? Give me a really rapid fire sort of 50,000 foot level picture of my area that I can build not just today, but, you know, day in and day out and really start to feel what's happening locally. So that gives me another idea for the Be Prepared guys, but neither here nor there. We're going to let this one go, PBN family, okay? There's a lot coming, a lot to consider. The prepping world is changing. There's no doubt about that. The PBN network is changing. There's no doubt about that. And I want you on board, man. You know, I want you on board. The first thing I want more than anything. The first thing I want more than anything really is to get you on this radio net. Right. And forget everything I just said and understand that we've got a great alternate option for you, right? An alternate to the primary. An alternate to the cell phone. Cell phone goes down. Cell phone dies. Let's stop acting like everyone's perfect. You're out and about. Something terrible happens in your community. You want to get a hold of your kid. Your cell phone's dead.
