[00:00:04] You're listening to PBN, your path back to stability here

[00:00:34] Big one today, PBN family, what's up? Before we get rolling, I want to give a shout-out thank you to the Jones Homestead for hosting the Ration to Ruin meeting last night, meet-up meeting, whatever the hell it was It was a good time and we recorded almost the whole thing for you, so I think you'll see that about noon Probably about noon today, you'll get a big taste of the old Ration to Ruin meet-up

[00:01:02] The varieties of strange and delicious Romanian food, that was part of the whole thing And, you know, how to get involved, fundamentally, and I highly recommend it, highly recommend it Even if you can only get in for a week, you know what I mean? If you can only muster enough survival food and willpower to do it for a week, do it for a week, and you'll learn a lot, you know what I mean?

[00:01:33] So, before we get rolling, let's get into, we're going to talk about coffee a lot today We're going to talk about coffee, food Coffee, food, food and bev today on the show And because things happen in the background, we got our fingers on all kinds of weird things But first and foremost, we need to talk about today's sponsor The one and the only Prepper's Medical Handbook I have the overhead light on, I'm going to turn that off while I run this So, just take a look, take a read

[00:02:02] And I'll remark on it in just a second I mean, the building out of a Prepper library is essential You need hardback books, hardcopy books Resources that last If you have everything digital, you can find yourself in a real problem In a real situation My copy The Prepper's Medical Handbook It is

[00:02:31] It's the book You know what I mean? It's the book What up, Firewall Forge? Thanks for joining us today, buddy It is the book, man There's no doubt about it I mean, it has so much to do with so much In such a little volume And, you know, the I'd say that Just the OTC guidance And the medications And the items therein Are invaluable You know, the whole The whole setup

[00:03:01] The building of the off-grid medical kit Which is the last chapter In the book Yeah, it's just a great one, man The decision care table Is a really great section If no breathing is present From whatever cause See adult One rescue CPR If body temperature is over 100 With cough See bronchitis Pneumonia Page 63 If associate If severe pain Sudden onset No trauma See page 63 64

[00:03:32] The first thing that you do You know, if you If you become sort of The family doctor In a long-term disaster Emergency Like the first skill That you want to get good at Is diagnosis Right? You want to be able to look At somebody and go Probably like this This or this going on Could be wrong on all of them But, you know That's kind of step one You're not going to just Break out the old The old prepper suture kit Or the old prepper staple Skin staple gun And go to town Right?

[00:04:02] So Today's show brought to you by The Prepper's Medical Handbook And We're going to talk a bit about coffee From From the personal standpoint here For those of you who don't know Myself And the Well I used to be able to say myself In the host of the Matter of Facts podcast But it's not really that way anymore So myself Phil Rabelais From the Matter of Facts podcast And Andrew Bobo Who you probably remember From the Matter of Facts podcast Are all owners of Disaster Coffee

[00:04:31] DisasterCoffee.com And one of the cool things About coffee Is And being in the coffee biz Is that it's You learn a lot about the world And how the world is working Right? So Very early on We understood That COVID was going to affect The entire world Because it was already Affecting the coffee industry Right? The coffee industry Is one of those industries That it feels The reverberations of policy And

[00:05:01] And all those kinds of things Pretty Quickly and easily Now You know Like everything else It's always going up You know You We don't I've never Gotten an email From our coffee roaster That said Hey Coffee's going down Three dollars Three cents Even So We feel that And we see that And we We were talking yesterday At a meeting And just sort of discussing Best

[00:05:31] You know Like What is the long term deal With coffee? You know What is the future of coffee Really going to look like? What is the future of Caffeination going to look like? You know There are A bunch of ways You can get your caffeine fixed But For us Coffee is It's essential I mean It really isn't essential It's critical And We were thinking about that Talking about that And years ago We created a product Which is Pictured in the background Called Bunker Beans And it was

[00:06:00] Merely just giving You The consumer Access to green coffee beans Because they store longer They last longer You can roast them yourself When you need to Or not You can sit them In long term food storage And have coffee Because for most of us In fact I don't know If I could name a person Who grows coffee That I know You know what I mean In the At least in the United States In the The lower 48 Right So

[00:06:30] That was the whole motivation It's just kind of this idea Of like We'll keep I think Having access to great coffee Which we have at Disastercoffee.com It's the best Coffee I've ever had And Giving the consumer Access to that coffee Is good It's not something That we should do away with But we We have come to the conclusion At least over the last year That The best value The best Bang for your buck In terms of coffee And the best quality Of coffee

[00:07:00] That you're going to get Is always going to come From Green coffee beans Buying green coffee And And The magic Here is We sell A five pound bag You know We're lucky enough That our roaster Does that for us It's nothing super fancy You know what I mean Here's one that I've been Kind of roasting Out of myself But What it is Is It's access to a Five pound bag Of green coffee beans Let me see if I can Give you a look At them in there

[00:07:29] And what that does Is You get the coffee Much cheaper Obviously But on top of it You have the storage option And then You're tasked With learning the skill Of roasting And I'll say Skill pretty loosely And now I was a chef before So I might be You know Underestimating What it takes But The truth of the matter is It's really not that tough To roast your own coffee And it's really rewarding You know

[00:07:59] You're roasting your own coffee You're storing it roasted You're grinding it up When you want a cup Maybe in the French press Or something like that And It's For our community I do feel like It's kind of essential Right You should You should be pretty well versed In all the different Parts and processes Of coffee making As a skill set You know If only because Firewolf If only because You know

[00:08:28] You have You hold Serious power In your hands Should you have this And no one's had Any coffee in a while Right So you know It is what it is You can be of service You can I've talked many times About being able to Call people together In a community Or in a group Using Off-grid coffee brewing Do you know how to pull

[00:08:57] Something like that off I really do think That you know It's the best deal In town In terms of Caffeination And We at Disaster Coffee Have decided That we're going to Push it Much more than we Have in the past And we do push it a lot But we're going to push it Much more than we have In the past As an opportunity For people to have Good coffee Because We're going to be Raising coffee prices Something like 12 ounce bags Something like $16

[00:09:26] You know what I mean $16 Some $17 There's going to be Some of our premium Like our 30 day Whiskey barrel Age coffee Is probably going to be Like $20 Some dollars So it's getting To that point You know what I mean It's getting to the point With coffee And we may not be done The word from our roaster Is we don't know What the future holds It was like that With COVID A lot like that With COVID I remember the same Sort of messaging And they're right Nobody really knows What the future holds You know So we'll have to see

[00:09:56] Coffee comes from All varieties of Nations In all different places Around the world And we have You know Our inventory Has a large Set From everywhere Regional You don't know You never really know You know Natural disaster War All that kind of stuff But One thing's for sure In this uncertain situation What's getting tough Is

[00:10:24] Getting long term Agreements From farmers On price That's what's getting tough Because the farmers Are not here They're in other countries They're watching Donald Trump They're going I don't know What that guy's going to do In six months To a year They're watching wars I don't know What's going to happen In six months To a year I can't give out Some price On a long term Contract with coffee And say Yeah I'll honor that And then your president Says Well You know 30% tariff

[00:10:55] Right So We find ourselves In a situation Where And we'll all feel it You know what I mean Eventually We're just here We feel it first With a lot of things What's going on guys The dogs are making out They're vomiting All over the couch I don't know What they're doing We're gonna have to Start locking them Outside during the show I guess I don't know What it is

[00:11:25] They They love to interrupt Though So Anyhow They're like The comedic Sidebar Or something Like that They're so cute Though One's a little Pitbull puppy And the other One's a little Frenchy You know What I mean And they're laying On the couch Just kind of Eating each other's Face I don't know How else to put it And one of them Must be choking On the hair From the other one I don't know What he's gotten into

[00:11:55] You good man The little Goomba Alright So Securing that Long term contract Is what the trouble Is with coffee And I'm sure It's not just Our roaster That's having Trouble with it You know What I mean I'm sure It's probably Going to be Felt across the Board and across The world Which You know Brings me to The concept here Brings me to The idea of You know You being Who you are You can handle

[00:12:24] Green coffee beans And that's a Unique thing You know What I mean You take a bag Of regular Green coffee beans To a regular person And say Hey Handle this You know It's going to Be a tough one Alright I'm going to We're going to Run another commercial And I'm going to Kick the dogs outside What do we got Do we have the I don't know If I have the Audio version I'm going to Bring that up For you I don't know If you guys Have ever seen That Actually no That'll take Like 10 minutes To upload

[00:12:53] I'll hop off We'll run The The Lima Tango And We'll be right Back We're going to Talk Where are we Going to Talk Did we Talk this show Already There's something Oh that's right We got a great Inside the cash Coming up That's what it is Great inside the Cash Alright Be right back Hang with me Don't go Anywhere
