[00:00:01] Hi, Jurei Assistant here. We've got a bit of a good news, bad news situation. Seems the podcast you're about to listen to has been flagged. It's been flagged for disinformation and misinformation. So you won't be able to enjoy it today. Be careful out there. Remember, I'm your friend.
[00:00:28] PBN Family, I conducted a live feel session on YouTube and Rumble and X this morning and the audio was all funked. It was my fault. I was running on 99.9% inspiration and not paying attention to the volume of my headphones. My headphone volume was going into my microphone and was garbling everything.
[00:01:01] We're going to run it back though. We're going to do that live again. But I have to feel it, you know. It's got to be one of those things. So instead what we're getting is coffee on the front porch in the rain. Thunderstorms rolling in the distance. Little pit bull puppy staring out. Wondering what the hell is going on. Why is everything wet? Why is the water falling from the sky? But I'm glad to be with you.
[00:01:32] It's just one of those beautiful mornings, man. It's hard to capture in words. Sometimes these rainy mornings are easier to capture in the written word. Easier to capture in action. You know what I mean? There's just something about a rainy morning. Nothing like a rainy morning in fall. You know, those autumn rainy mornings.
[00:01:59] When like Halloween is knocking at the door. Those, man. Wow. How many of those do you get? You ever think about it? How many of those do you get in life? How many... How many rainy autumn mornings on the doorstep of Halloween when the decorations are up? Right? And the world is covered in the fiery mess of the trees. I don't know if I could live without trees around.
[00:02:30] You know, in that sense I understand the phoenix from here at PBN. I understand exactly what she means. The concretized world in autumn must be so crap. You know, I've got a new book on top of a new book. I'm coming out. It's called Poems for Men. It'll probably bomb.
[00:03:00] It'll probably bomb. But who cares? You know what I mean? In my stream that went awry, I was talking about creators. And how boring creators have become. Because they live only for the algorithm. They live only for the keywords. They live only for the... You know, whatever it is. Right? Like, I'm going to create this thing. One of the most terrible things. And I guess there's truth to it. Because I'm not a rich author. Right?
[00:03:30] There's truth to it. But at the end of the day, who even cares? One of the things people always say to me when I started writing was... You know, who are you writing for? You've got to know who you're writing for. You've got to know your audience. You've got to know, you know... And you see these sort of like... I'm not mad about it either. I want you to understand that. But you see these sort of droll books that come out.
[00:03:58] And follow all the rules. And they do really well. And, you know, good on them. But it'll be like... The Prepper's Food Storage Guide... To Survival... And Homesteading... And Preparedness. And you're like... Somebody literally took all the popular keywords... And just wrapped them up into a... A book title. I don't know. I mean, I know there's a lot of people out there listening that are like... James, there's nothing wrong with that.
[00:04:28] It's systematic. This is what I want to read about. This is the title I'm looking for. Not everybody wants some kind of weird title to something that they barely understand. But, you know, when you sit down to do something that you love... And I don't know how much people do this anymore, to be honest. So I really don't know. I really don't know how often people sit down and do things that they love. You know what I mean? Do you do it anymore?
[00:04:55] Or is every waking hour just split between responsibility and social media? You know what I mean? But when you sit down to do a thing that you love, you get wrapped up in it. You know, and this book is like so many... It's decades in the making. It's practically nearly three decades in the making.
[00:05:23] And long story short, the reason I'm bringing it up is because... What's it called? They Simply Stand. There's a poem in there called They Simply Stand. And it's a poem about the trees. Because I had this really weird... Experience... Over... What was it? I guess it was in spring. It wasn't long ago. I just wrote it. A lot of these poems I just wrote.
[00:05:53] But this one in particular must have been like a warm day in winter. Because it definitely wasn't the fall. But anyhow, I'm running. And out of nowhere. Same place I run all the time. Great trails. Wonderful, lovely, beautiful place. And I'm running. And dying. You know, the way I like it. And... I look up. And when I looked up at the trees for some reason... They seemed authoritative.
[00:06:21] They seemed to be glowering at me. They seemed to be looking at me like... Almost disapprovingly. Or maybe not disapprovingly. But just kind of looking at me. You know, in other words, like you run by them so many times... You don't even notice them, right? But all of a sudden, like it's like... Whoa. There they are. And they're huge. You know what I mean? The trees where I live are huge. Like... There's like 30, 40 foot trees. And... They're all like looking down at me.
[00:06:51] I'm running up this hill. And dying. And they're looking down at me. I get up to the top of the hill. And it's almost like they're like... They wanted to talk. You know what I mean? I felt like... Like they were saying something. Or they wanted to exchange words. You know, they wanted to tell me something about the human race. And that poem is basically just that. It's sort of the next step in that interaction. It's like what would have happened if... We did start talking. And they go on to explain...
[00:07:19] A lot about humanity and... From a like a... From the perspective of trees that have been on the planet watching us forever. You know what I mean? Like they come... They speak... To me in that poem in a way that like... Almost like old gods. Or like old... You know, something along those lines. Old watchers that have just watched the human race through all these years. And then they start to explain. Then I ask questions of them. You know what I mean? Like...
[00:07:49] Well, what do you think about this? Or are we fucking this up? You know what I mean? That kind of thing. And it's a fun one, man. Like I said, I don't know if the timing's right. I don't know. I didn't write this book to an audience. I fundamentally collected some of my favorite poems. Written by others. And then... Poems that I wrote over the years.
[00:08:19] And what I want is to create something that can be like an escape for... For men who are locked into this weird age. You know? Not that men alone are locked into it. But I can't write poems for women. You know what I mean? I can't pull that off. Because we do... You know, you even see it in the prepping world. It might be even exaggerated even more in the prepping world. But you see it a lot.
[00:08:46] You see what it's like to live in a world with all the options. Right? What plans should I plan? Just the conversation or the maze or the mystery of figuring out what tomato plants I should grow. Do you know what I'm saying? Like you go to a hybrid. You go to like a tomatoes or a seed store that puts out like a seed catalog. Or even if you go to like a hardware store.
[00:09:15] And you're like, I think I want to grow tomatoes. Like what tomatoes do I want to grow? Cherries. Grapes. 37 different heirloom varieties. Big boys. The better boys. The his boys. The her boys. And that's only like a quarter of the battle. Right? You figure out, alright, alright. I'm going to go all in. On the beefsteak potato just like my dad... Or a tomato just like my dad used to grow. And you get it home and then it's like...
[00:09:45] Okay, what now? How often do I water? And the problem is... Back in the day my dad had a book. You know what I mean? He had one book about gardening. And that was how he gardened. What the book said he did. And it worked. Now you go on YouTube and there's 70,000 different people telling you... Well, you should water at night. You should never water at night. You only water in the morning. You never water in the morning. You only water on days that end in Y. What kind of fertilizer do you use? You can use fish emulsion.
[00:10:14] You should use only natural homemade compost. You should use the boogie brew that I make. That I sell. You should do what I do. I think this world of like... Like way too many solutions. Way too many options. Way too many answers. It's driving people absolutely mad. It erodes the stability of knowing what the hell to do. You know what I mean? Everything becomes this like... I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know what to do. Like literally...
[00:10:43] You see this in adults now who came up through the ranks in college. And had to go through the mind numbing and painstaking sort of... What am I going to be when I get out of college? What am I going to be when I get out of high school? What do I want to be? What should I be? What should I go to college for? Or... It's so many people that went to college for this thing and winded up doing... Wound up doing that thing. And maybe it all worked out and thank God. But like it's just...
[00:11:12] It's the sheer fact that... The volume of choice... That our society... Our free society has presented us with. It's a gift and a curse. I think it's a curse for most. I really do. I think it's a curse for most. How many different hairstyles? Hair cuts? Boot cuts? Gene cuts? How many different... You get into prepping. It's like... I'm going to buy me a survival bag.
[00:11:41] A backpack. You know? With some survival gear in it. Do I need a get-on bag? Do I need a bug-out bag? Do I need an inch bag? Do I need a... What kind of bag do I need? Should I carry an IFAC? Should the IFAC go in the bag? What should I do with this thing? What about my EDC? Where does the EDC go? What do I put this? It's mind-numbing. And then you have 40 different companies that do it. Right? I could solve that problem for you though. You know? If you want a pre-made backpack... My recommendation...
[00:12:12] The guy that I know... The connection that I have to pre-made backpacks. Right? LimatangoSurvival.com LimatangoSurvival.com I'll give you a little bit of... You want a little bit of stability in your life? Don't worry about the uncharted kit. Don't worry about the... The cheapo... The cheapest price you can get backpack where the zippers won't work anyway. Or they'll break in a week. Don't worry about... You know... Whatever. Whatever pre-built backpack you're stuck on.
[00:12:42] Just go to LimatangoSurvival.com Pick up... Whatever it is you're looking for. They got it all. They got two packs. They got four person chests full of survival gear that's been curated by a guy who knows what the hell he's doing. Right? They've got the alpha single man backpack. You need one bag for one bug out or one bag for one get home operation. That's the bag to do it. Get it crossed off your list today. Go to LimatangoSurvival.com
[00:13:11] That's a pretty well woven ad. Not bad. I don't have a list in front of me. I'm staring at... I'm literally staring at rising Jerusalem artichoke plants that are all the way to the top of my freaking porch railing already. Watching the rain fall on my American flag with a couple pit bulls on the front porch. Drinking coffee. Podcasting. Now I struck out what you don't know.
[00:13:40] You see you hear that and you think man life is good for the podcast creator. Life is good for the content creator. The intrepid commander. Because I'm stuck at work languishing. Well just so you know my last two content pieces struck out completely. I did a full review of Limatango's EDC kit. And for some reason the camera Johnny Five just did a horrible job. I mean everything was muddled and terrible looking.
[00:14:09] It just looked terrible. So I deleted the whole thing. We'll start it. We'll do it outside in the sunlight. I did it behind the computer and I think that was a bad move. I don't know. It wasn't good. It wasn't good at all. And then I popped this live stream this morning early. An early in the rain sort of nice wonderful thought provoking live stream that was another complete fumble. You know what I mean? Yeah.
[00:14:38] Sometimes that happens guys. You know. Sometimes you get in there and you give all and then you listen back to it and you go ooh that was trash. Time to start over. Time to get on the front porch and put a podcast out. So I don't know what's going on in your world PBN family. That's the question to ask yourself. Right. What's on the list for today? You're making a list right? You talk about rifles and optics.
[00:15:06] You talk about I don't know. Comp I. Compasses and multi tools and food storage and gardens and perennial plants and chickens and geese. Like what's on your to-do list today? Hey. Hey. Don't do that. You don't want to go out there. What's on your to-do list for today?
[00:15:36] Because if you found the niche that you want to be in. If you found the nook of life that you enjoy. If you found something about this world that you want to curate, create, expand on, make better, make more. Maybe become a career. Or better. Right. I'm going to tell you right now. Like. The only thing there is is consistency.
[00:16:03] And the easiest way to achieve consistency is pen and pad. You know. Forget about notifications on the phone. Forget about all that shit. It's all about writing it down every day. It really is. If you can write it. If you can get past everything else. And just in your head. Just say. Alright. This is what I do. I write it down every day. And I do what's on the list. Right.
[00:16:34] The moment I start to break away from the list. Everything goes haywire. But if it goes onto the list. It gets done. Like my list today needs work. It's got two items on it. It's not hardly all that needs to get done. But that's the thing. You know. So you got to work the list. You got to continue to work the list. This. This list can be daily. Monthly. Weekly. Right. Weekly goals. Daily tasks. Monthly outcomes. Whatever the situation is.
[00:17:04] Get it on a list. Now of course the list becomes. Really tough when you don't. When you don't follow through. The list can become. In the morning the list is great opportunity. And by midday the list is. You know. The grains of sand in the hourglass. And by night the list becomes a very clear reminder. Of fact. That you failed on some things today.
[00:17:31] And I think that whole cycle is important for people. You need that whole cycle in your life. You need that cycle in your life. Where you wake up. And a day is pregnant with possibility. And we're going to have ourselves a day. And we're going to achieve things. And there are things. And calls. And emails. And projects. And creative endeavors. Pursuits. Workouts. And so on. That are going to. Really make the day wonderful. Then by the middle of the day. You start realizing. Oh I might not be able to make this one. I might not be able to pull that off. I might not be able to. You know.
[00:18:01] Whatever the situation is. And. And then at the end of the day. When there are things. That didn't make the list. Didn't make. Get the check mark. Then you can look at that. And reflect too. And understand like. But here's the other thing. If you got a 10 item list. And you knocked out 8 of those items. And 2 haven't been knocked out. Well at least now you have an understanding of the day. Because it's very easy for human beings.
[00:18:30] To do. 8 out of the 10 things. Forget about the 8 that you accomplished. And just kill yourself over the 2 that you didn't. Right. So the list. Gives you the ability to look over everything. And say. Well at least I did all this. You know. I didn't get those last 2 done. But I did all this. And then you just take those 2. And migrate them to tomorrow's list. I don't know how else to be accountable. I don't have a boss. You know what I mean.
[00:18:59] There's nobody who shakes me in the morning. Says get up and go do your podcast. Get up and go do your writing work. Get up and go spread the word about PBN. Get up and go do things that you need to do. So I don't understand accountability. Other than. The list is my boss. The list is. Is the guy who at the beginning of the day. Says alright Mr. Walton. I need X, Y, and Z by the end of the day. And then my list is also the guy who says. Keep it up and you're fired.
[00:19:29] Because if I do enough lists. And the things don't get crossed off. Well. That's how it goes baby. Alright PBN family. I do appreciate you guys. If you tuned into today's live show. I do apologize that it was all. The sound was all wacky. We're going to revisit that thought. But it's got to be at the right time. It's an inspiration thing. More than just a. You know bite down on the bit. And create a piece of content. So. We'll get it done.
[00:19:58] We'll get it done right. Go to PBN family.com. Today. Check out our membership website. The continuity is coming. We'll talk about that more. But believe you me. You're going to want in. For this week. This month's continuity. Goomba. Sorry my dog thinks he wants to escape out into the rain. You're going to want to be in tune. For this week. This month's continuity meeting.

If you're not. All the way in on this PBN thing. Get all the way in on it. You know what I mean. Like the marketing stuff. I'm really not a big fan of it. All I can tell you is. We got all kinds of cool shit. Go sign up for the newsletter. Become a member. Join us for the live shows.
[00:20:57] Like do the stuff. There's a bunch of crap on the internet you can listen to. And it'll probably make you feel bad. You know what I mean. Or maybe there is something out there that you enjoy listening to more than us. And that's good too. But uh. Just. Just. You know. The emails come through. You don't want to read them. Whatever. Delete them. But have access to it all. Have access to it all. Because there's a better life on the other side of it. Trust me man. And I tell you. Alright.
[00:21:27] Enjoy the rest of your day. PBN family. Bye. Bye. Bye.
