Surviving America 085: The Future of Water in the US

Society in every state is a blessing. A government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil. The future has already Minnesota. What happened in Minnesota, folks, absolutely insane. A coordinated cyber attack hit more than thirty community water systems across Minnesota over the weekend. The attacks took place Sunday, July twenty sixth and twenty seventh, targeting the operational technology the you know, anything automated, anything cellular linked, anything computerized that runs looks like wells, treatment plants, water towers, and lyft stations. Cities have gone public with this so far, Braham, Plymouth, South Saint Paul, and Maple Plane in Brahm Braham. I don't know how to say it. Tackers got into the control system for the well and treatment plant and simply shut the well off. Power was still on, but the automated go signal wasn't. Plant went offline Monday morning, Cruise spotted its, switched to manual and had it back up in about a half an hour. Residents got a temporary heads up to ease on water use so the tower wouldn't run dry, but that was short lived. This is real, man, This is real. This. You know, you're talking about a battle that nobody's gonna understand anymore happening at the cyber level. All our systems run on this, you know what I mean? All systems run on this and will depend on this battle of artificial intelligence security against artificial intelligence hacking. And uh, probably the most precious of all systems or no, undoubtedly the most precious of all systems is the water system. Do you know what I mean? Undoubtedly? So, throughout the show today, we're gonna show you stuff. Okay, throughout the show today, I'll show you things. Off Grid Technologies creates this. I'm doing it the way suburbanites can do it if they're willing, right, And that's kind of probably something I don't talk about enough, you know what I mean. Really, why do I have this up? Oh? So Plymouth solve problems with communications at a couple of water towers and multiple lift stations. South Saint Paul maple Plane reported hits on automated controls. In every case, the cities rolled to contingency plans. People physically checking gauge's tower stations kept the water flowing. Maple Plane even declared the local state of emergency to speed up the response. You know, nobody was nobody was really hurt impacted by it. But thirty community water systems were hacked. Thirty that's crazy, right. The investigation is still active. It looks like but look, man, this is this is one incident, you know what I mean. This doesn't even speak to infrastructure woes of water, like water infrastructure in the world or in the country. Largely, they're digging stuff up here in Virginia, In Richmond, Virginia, like every other day, there's people digging, digging pipes, replacing pipes. I really am nervous for Democratic or Democrat run big cities on the East Coast who are not investing in this kind of technology and upgrades to their water system. What are in America right now is a blessing, you know what I mean, It really is. But it's one of these things we have to keep up with. Like when we talk about funding and losing funding and spending all the money on this and budget shortfalls and running perpetual debts, all of this stuff, man, like something gets put on the chopping block. And if you don't think it's possible that water can be something that winds up on the chopping block, I'd like you to go back in history about a year or two and look at the situation with the fire hydrants during the LA Fires. You could look at the history of water management in California at large and see that water runs out and and people decide where it goes, you know what I mean? And those people aren't you If you think this new crop of communists coming into the office are going to be worried about the peons like you and me getting water to you know, to our house that's safe. These fundamentals that run cities and towns, they seem to be about at the bottom of the list for these people. You know, there's an activist edge, there's a there's a big rebellion revolution movement that has to happen. Typically when big rebellions and revolutions take place, tap water isn't high on the list of the radicals to do, you know what I mean. So I want to talk about some other things. The average age of US water pipes is about forty five years. Many in big cities are up to eighty to one hundred and ten years old. Wow, America loses about six billion gallons of treated drinking what a every single day. The leaks breaks, excuse me an the structure failures, failures enough supply tens of millions of people. They're roughly two hundred and forty water main breaks per year nationwide. These are just sort of examples of what's going on right forever. Chemicals. Oh God, I hate to say this even out loud. I'm so sick of it. I'm not saying it's not a problem, but I'm so sick of seeing it that I don't even want to read it out loud. But it's viable. Forever chemicals pfas have been detected in systems serving well over one hundred and forty million people, and by some estimates, are approaching or exceeding one hundred and seventy six million Americans. So one of the reasons I hate the word forever chemicals is because anybody who says forever, they don't know shit, you know what I mean, They don't they have no idea what forever even means. Every every so if you pay attend, they don't publicize this stuff because it doesn't fit the narrative. But every so often, if you pay attention to nature and science, you'll see, like, oh, species long thought extinct was spotted, So, in other words, that species is dead forever. And then all of a sudden, oh is that one of Yeah, it is? Okay, maybe not, you know what I mean. That's one of the reasons I hate the forever chemical sort of situation. So, whatever your motivation is here, whatever your sort of outlook is, I should have linked to the UH. No grid survival projects. No grid survival Projects is a great resource for this, I mean, phenomenal resource for this. UH It's it's just really great. You know what I mean. It's it's one of those things that you can build multiple means of water, but at the same time, like you take ten minutes to read about rain barrels and see how affordable they are. Collapsible rain barrels, even collapsible rainbows are like fifty dollars. They don't even have to stay up all the time. Right. But that's an example of something I call SHTF infrastructure. Maybe you're okay with the water situation now where you live, but you sure would like to have some backup, right, So you buy these collapsible rain barrels because they don't take up a bunch of space. And things like this start to happen more and more, and you say, all right, honey, it's it's time to go into water plan two point zero. We're catching and filtering rain water, you know what I mean. We're gonna get a good quality you know, three stage to make sure we're not dealing with chemicals and things like that. And that's your game plan. Have a game plan. See where America gets in trouble, and where the majority I think get in trouble is you see a story like what happened in Minnesota and you say to yourself, who did it? Who done it? Is it Somalian revenge is for attacking their daycare centers? Is it? The Iranians? Are the Iranians finally taking a stand or the right Iranian sleeper cells finally waking up. By the way, iran your sleeper cells were awful all these years we've been speculating. I don't know. I've got a big mac theory about the Iranian sleeper cells, but I don't want to go into it at the moment. Listen to previous shows. You know what I mean. The world. This is one of the reasons why not long ago I was talking about utilities and this whole concept of public utilities. Most of the time I don't have some brilliant moment where I come up with some idea by myself. A lot of times it's the echoes of people around me, the echoes of people online, the echoes of hosts, and when a thing hits inside the knogin so many times, it just becomes solidified. And one of those words is utilities. Because I ran into enough companies that were on the way to substituting utilities. You run into enough people who are already living off grid on in terms of water and power, and you run into this concept of like what do we do? Another one is the ancient history of utilities, right, like the fact that my father continuously tells me about the fact that the electric the power poles outside the power poles, the strings on wood that are probably outside your front door, outside your office right now, have been that way since he was like my son's age, since nineteen fifty. He's been looking at the same technology that traverses what has become insanely precious, right, electricity from one place to another, And he just laughs about it. And that's as much a tell as anything else when you sit there and think to yourself, we're on seventy six year old technology. At least nothing's changed. I mean things have changed, but the concept in the process hasn't changed. This is the best way you know we if you look at other technology and how much it's changed, Right, Like we had black and white television, now we have televisions that hang on a wall. If you think to yourself, how crazy is it that the way we travel technology from place, or electricity from place to place hasn't changed much at all? For seventy six years. Then you know something's up. Somebody's making in money and they don't want it messed with. Right, that's a big deal. It's just you know, it's one of those things, man, It's just becomes one of those things where it's like the people will find their way out of it, and we're finding our way out of it, you know what I mean. But the electrical infrastructure should be updated, the water infrastructure should be updated. I don't think it's gonna be I mean, it's it slowly will be out of necessity and out of people going crazy. But at the same time, I think a lot of I think this idea of like living off grid being a thing that people do in the in the hinterlands is hilarious. I really do. I think that living off grid is going to be a thing that the grid itself is gonna be hilarious to my kids, to their kids. It's gonna become this thing where like I just get all my own water, right, We source our own water from the rain, We source our own water from a well well. The city said you're not allowed to dig a well well. That's funny. They don't check and they don't enforce that rule. So I don't know if that's true. I'm just hypothetical. Right, we draw water from a natural spring nearby. Whatever the situation is, Right, all of a sudden, you got power, you got water yourself. Things are very different, right, things are very different. And I think a lot of people are going to go that route. Why not. Every time you turn around, you see all the power bills going up. Oh, we're paying for data center electricity now great, lovely. Oh and they're taking the water. This is nice. This is how I want to live. Now, let's talk data centers for a minute. Let's talk data centers for a minute. I'm going to show you a clip Okay, I'm going to show you a clip de your audience from a podcast coming out Friday yesterday. I interviewed Contractor RX. Ted from Contractor RX, a guy who you would probably think, like, what, why would he be on the Prepper Broadcasting Network? Right? I found it because he's one of these guys who's building data centers, currently building data centers in multiple states, and he has a story to tell about these data centers. That is not going to be the story you would expect. Okay, it's not going to give you the feeling of redemption that you might be looking for. It's probably not even Well, it might give you a little bit of the feeling of dread, but there's also a well just think about it. Who is building the data centers? Not really like whose hands are building the data centers. It's a really important question, man, It's a really important question to ask yourself. And the whole of the podcast touches on it. So I'm gonna I'm gonna play this quting. I wanted to talk to you previously before that was they told us, they literally told us, if you have any feelings while working on these things, we will bring in people. And it's not like they haven't done it before. They will go to other countries and bring in people and give them work visas. And these things are getting built one way or another. Oh oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, So the difference is the American's conscience is too deep. Then they'll just get visa people to come into any You might. As well give the money to American taxpayers, the American contractors, right, I mean, at least we're reinvesting the money back. We're buying what do we buy? We're buying Harley Davidson's with them. We're buying pickup trucks with them. They're buying clothes. Here, we're putting the money back kid's college accounts, like we're reinvesting it here. Whereas if you're bringing people from the country to build these data centers, where do they do they send them money home? Definitely, Well that is kind of the gray area that I never thought about until I saw your Instagram channel, which was and I didn't know it was two thousand. But you know, where do those guys go work? You know what I mean? Where do they get the money to put the food on the table if they're not doing in this job? When you find out how many people are employed by these data centers and the money they're making, it's it makes things a little more complicated. Let's just put it at that. You know what I mean, to stop the construction of data centers, it's like a it's a big rebellious goal in all of our hearts, and to stop Skynet, you know what I mean, save the ground, wood are all that kind of stuff. It's not autonomous robots out there building these things, and uh not yet we couldn't go back and look at this as the stepping stone to get there. But right now here and now, like the numbers are going to floor you. They're gonna floor you. How many American families are eating and eating good off of this investment, which you know, like I said, I don't know what happens to those people if you take those jobs away. I love these kinds of topics personally, you know what I mean. I love these kinds of topics that are like, I don't know, they put you in a weird like their thought provoking That's what it is, right, their thought provoking topics. It's not as easy as like you know, this side bad, that side good, you know, and I really like that. I just really enjoy that. Be confused, be befuddled, you know what I mean, or you get a really good taste of kind of like who you are. Like if you watch that episode and you go, you know what for all those people who have all those jobs and are making good money and living good lives and building futures here in America, Americans building futures in America. Screw them, screw them. Shut the data centers down at all costs, by any means necessary. I think that causes I think that's worth a little self reflection, you know what I mean. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm not saying like in thirty years, we don't look back and go we should never build these damn data satters man. We really screwed ourselves. But at the same time, I think Ted makes a great point, how are you going to stop it? A lot of information on that podcast, man, even a political take that I think you'll appreciate. One of the big takeaways though, of that thing is like, if you don't own it, there's only so much you can do to control it. I wrote a blog the other day at Red Beacon Media in the Lightkeepers quarters, and it was titled You're basically programmable. And this thought came to me while I was running the other day. You know, it was one of those hot, lovely days, just lovely. It might be like a day like today, actually humid, hot, like one of those days where like you sweat walking out the front door, Like you walk out the front door and you're immediately sweating. And these are my favorite days to work out outside. And I'm running and thinking to myself, you know, like you are just a programmed thing, but thinking about it to myself, thinking about what I was in the past, to what I am now, to the various pieces of the puzzle I used to program myself right, And it's just, you know, it's one of those things we all kind of know, we all kind of know we're highly brainwashable and programmable, but we don't like to admit it because we're all so prideful, like, no, man, I have my beliefs in my whatever, you know what I mean, this is me, but be The blog post is basically about that, because when you recognize you're programmable, you have to ask the question, Okay, who's doing the programming? If that's the case, you know what I mean. That's the sort of the generation coming up right now, they got this in the hand all the time. Well so does my our generation though, Who's doing the programming? Who's making you into you? What is you? Who are you? You know what I mean? That whole thing. EP estimates public water systems need more than six hundred and twenty five billion over the next twenty years just to keep safe, reliable service going. In a typical year ten to twenty percent of America's drink What are the violates Save Drinking Water Act standards? That's crazy. That is a crazy one. Wow, nearly two million Americans still lack running water in their homes. It's a wild one. That is a wild one. Man. There are a lot of these little stats that come up in the face of all of this, you know what I mean, and you start to see, like the value of water Stoare's and water is not a huge problem, you know what I mean. It's it's not even a huge It doesn't even have to be a huge investment, uh it. I mean, if you do it like I Diddy, I don't know. I don't even know if I've spent to be honest with you, I don't even know if I've spent five hundred dollars total for rain barrel waterer storage. I think the collective rain barrels that I own, I know the last three I purchase were ten dollars each Craigslist. Okay, the other two were probably ten or twenty dollars each. I mean, you're talking about fixtures, You're talking about screen for the top of them. You're talking about a little modification that you could do with you know, circle stalls or something like that's who maybe you gotta buy that. You're talking about extensions or diverts on your gutters. That's it, you know what I mean. Like that's not a lot of stuff PVC pipe wood framing, you know, for my larger wood of storage out back. And it's just one of those things where like this is what I mean when I talk about preparedness itself as an antidepressant. Now you get into the Red Beacon media side and you start adding things like music and literature and poetry and people events right and your own your own creative endeavors, and all of a sudden, like God, God, the diet change. But the Holy diet over there, the monthly fast, the breakdown to sort of a a more route, a better routine that will bring you closer to God day to day. These are the things that will save people from the despair that they're in. You know, and I know there are a lot of people in despair. You can see it, you can feel it radiating off of people. It's so brutal to have the answers, you know what I mean, But the missing link of like how do you get people to do it? How do you get people to do the things? It really is alluring to and pay like played around with the idea of some kind of coaching service program, you know whatever, just to keep people on the right path, because motivation is an important piece of the puzzle. I think, you know, I really do think motivation is important piece having accountability, those kinds of things. I realized that maybe a guy like me, who I don't know I get all the motivation I need. I don't know how. I don't know how to convey because I don't know what motivates everybody. I know the things that motivate me on days when I'm tired to say, you know what, I'm gonna go do X because I have to do it, or this this right here, like to run a business as a writer and a podcast or you you know, you're alone, this is this is a lonely endeavor in terms of day to day work. There's nobody going to wake up and go like dude, let's do it today. Man. You know, there's nobody going to shake you on the side of the bed and go hey man, you gotta get up. You know, you don't even have employees that are dependent on your success, so you've got to have immense motivation to do this day in a day out. How do I give that to you? To those of you out there listening who are like, I got problems. You know, this kind of stuff really wears me down. I can't you know whatever, reach out, seriously, reach out if you want motivation, if you want a six month long program, if you want somebody to check in with to make sure that you're staying on track, whatever, you know what I mean, because I don't have anything formal like that, But if that, if you think that would help you, let me know and we'll figure it out.
