TACTICAL TUESDAY: Unknown Facts About the AK47 on TGA

The broadcasting network, starting at a very young age and all. The way up. So there is a lot of information about the a K forty seven that a lot of people did not know and do not know. Okay, they keep in mind that the AKA is one of those firearms that it's not just one that would have come against us if Russia had invaded or if we were fought Russia in a pitch battle. It's a firearm that our enemies use, it's a firearm that our allies use. It's a firearm that we are we as Americans, are also very very familiar with. So I would employ you to not see this as just something that's used by our enemy. And even if you do see it as something that's only used by our enemies, then I would employ you to learn the platform. Okay, but just for fun, let's talk a little bit about some facts about the firearm that you may not know. Okay. It is the most widely used firearm on the planet. Okay, there is no firearm that is you or made or distributed more than the a K. There are uh countries that have built monuments to them. Egypt built a monument featuring the rifle with the ball and the bayonet, and they actually put it in the Sinai Peninsula. Okay, some there are some country. Uh there is one country I know for sure that has the shape of the aka on their flag. Kind of interesting. Now, keep in mind that the the rifle and ball that are in the Sinai Peninsula, it's actually literally the front of the bill of the aka, the bill in the the a post of the front side. Uh looks like the Sallant break and I'm looking at a picture of it right now, and possibly down the law is the gas blok. Mkay. So it's not it's not the entire rifle, you know, as a statue in the Sirani prim Peninsula. Sorry, I remember a hard time pronouncing that. Apparently it's not the entire rifle. It's just that part, mkay, just the front part of the barrel and the baronet. Mkay. There are uh, legitimately a hundred and six countries that their armies are using the K. Mkay. Now we we talk about the K, there is a lot that's a very very wide wide term. You also have to keep it mind that it is still a symbol for you know, a lot of different types of bad guys. Where there's pirates, you know, so and so forth, revolutionaries, whatever. Okay, that is something to kind of put in the back of your mind while we're talking about it, Okay, but also put in the back of your mind that it is the most prolific, widely distributed my rifle in the world. It is. It is the most popular rifle in the world. Okay. So let's talk about some facts about the AKA. All right, here's one. The original a K forty seven was actually very very very heavy. Okay. It was actually too heavy. It was hard to handle. Okay. If you were to actually get your hands on a quote unquo quote real nineteen forty seven AK, you would not like it. Mkay. If you look back at the uh history of them, you would see how many iterations of it came about, and there were so many upgrades, so many changes made to that thing. You could do same thing with the cult nineteen eleven. Kay, the way that the nineteen eleven was changed over time, and even before it was accepted, you know, as the nineteen eleven, there were multiple changes made from the early ones to the model we all now know, mkay. But yeah, the original nineteen forty seven version was ruh, very very difficult to handle. It was very very cumbersome, I guess is the best way to put that. If you want to know more about the truth of that, you have to realize that most of the rifles that were made by Russia, Uh well, I guess of the time it's mores more was the City Union USSR. Anyway, most of those farms made at the time and shipped around the world were actually AKA seventy fours, and a lot of those uh. There were also ak ms mkay. Most of the firearms used in Vietnam AKM mkay. Obviously, the AK seventy four was not used during the Vietnam War. Kay. That's something to you know, duh Right. They say that it's pretty easy to tell the difference between the AKM and the AK seventy four simply by working at the bell. The AK seventy four has that quintessential UH muzzle brake in the front that looks like a cylinder with a slot cut out of the front, you know, just a little ways back from the tip of the buzzle brake or rather flash suppressor. Sorry, and yes, there are combination flash suppressors or flash hiders in muzzle breaks versus to do both, and the AK sventy four it it's uh flash hider does do both, but it is technically considered to be a flash hider or flash pressor Okay, when you've got the uh, the ak M or most of the AKM models, and you know current aks actually use a some use a similar brake to the AK seventy four, but on the A K twelve, I believe that there are some for new breaks. And if you look around on loan you look for Russian companies that make AK accessories like zenate Code and you know companies like that, you will find some really really amazing muscle breaks for ay case anyway, but I digress. The actual AKM, like the ones that were used in Vietnam, those used a like a slant muzzle break. Okay, like a slant break now if you guys were seen those before. But they look basically like a I feel that protective basically screwed on the end of the ball and cut at like a fury five degree angle. But which direction that that angled part of the muzzle break points? That part is what makes the difference. Okay, it does not point straight up and down. Okay, if you look at the way that it's set up with the deta in the front of the bill, it does not put straight up and down. It points off to the side a little bit. Because if I remember correctly, I could be learning this boolone please uh correct me uh email knew a gunble armory edgmail dot com. But if I remember correctly, they when the Russians were testing the ak N, they found that on full out of fire, the AKM tended to have muzzle rise in that direction. So they wanted to make a break that would counteract that muzzle rise uh as it was being shot on full auto. So that is why the sand break was developed. One of many reasons why that that was a good reason why it was uh developed. Mkay. So another thing to consider about the AKA is a lot of people say it's an inaccurate rifle. And some people might say that that's because of the chrome wrining and because of what it can do to the bull outside of the ball and so on and so forth. But don't forget that the chrome wrning just like it is on in there or fifteen you know, some ma hours anyway that uh er er uh HK barrels and and such. The chrome rinning is actually there to aid in the reliability of the firem okay, so the chrome mining is a very good thing. It also makes it so it doesn't need to be cleaned nearly as often. That is a very very good thing as well. And you know, being that it does need to be cleaned very often, it can be done in many many places that you may not all you may not be able to do as easily. Right. Another interesting fact about the AKA is fifty designer Mikyle Kalashnikov. That dude, how much money do you think he made off of his design? How much money do you think he made off the AK forty seven? If if you if you know the answer, go ahead and e mail me right now. Well, I take a drink. If you know the answer for free, type it up. Just hit me up with a number how much money? If you look it up, your cheating. But if you're curious, if you're curious, you know, I mean, I guess you can look it up. But that kind of feast the barbs. Anyways, going back to going back to it, Nikyle Kalashnikov, he received an award for his amazing wife of design. He received a lot of special privileges from the Soviet Union. He received many many, you know, things that some people might find cool. But he didn't receive one single penny. Uh, he wouldn't have gotten any pennies, but ul he didn't receive any money, no reupels, no nothing from his design. They didn't have copyright loss, they didn't have any of that stuff. So it wouldn't have mattered if he had copyrighted his design because the Russian state, the communist Russian state, hint hint, communism wonderful him. They didn't let him have any money for his design. They didn't pay him anything for his design. He basically just kind of got screwed over, you know, I mean as far as that goes. So, I mean, that's one of those things to really really keep in mind, you know, is when you're thinking about what's the word I'm looking for, switching America over to communism or allowing it to happen. S course, if you really wanna know more about communism, asking anybody that uh got in here from Cuba, see what they think. Anyways, Sorry, sometimes I go off. Another thing. Another interesting fact about the aka HM. The Russian government actually made and shipped out many, many, many, many many ak forty sevens and akms and the akams, ASM fours, so on and so forth. They actually they actually shipped out so many. And there are also thirty plus countries that are actually licensed to make the Aka family of rifles. Okay, nobody actually knows for sure how many Akas are on the earth because so many have been made by so many different countries in so many different iterations, and there are so many variants of between itself. You've got the rifle versions. You've got the little suchka or some people call them, oh gosh, fridge, the shorter a ks wise moobrain not working with now, uh suka or crankoff, sorry, crankoff. You know the krinkoff is, if I note correctly, is an American basterization. Uh. Most Russians refer them as suchka, which means little bitch, you know, if I mote correctly. Anyways, you know you've got the A, K M rifle types. You've got the you know, the seventy four's, You've got the uh short barrel ones, You've got the longer bil you know, regular bear lengthd ones. You've got the r p k's. It just goes on and on and on. Dude, you've got the d M R versions. I mean, it's insane how many iterations of the AKA family of rifles there are that w meaning, but there isn't really pretty much no way to count up how many there are for sure, because I mean, even right now, there's there's dudes in the freaking caves and you know whatever country building these freaking things, you know, with nothing but a railroad uh tie or rather the uh railroad track for an anvil, a hammer and a freaking punch, you know, and some files, and they building these damn things. You know it it's you know, it's just insane. Anyways, there are various groups that have tried to estimate how many Aka's there are on you know, I in in the rod and they I've estimated there there is allegedly one AK for every seventy people on the planet, which would equal about a hundred million of them. The according to various sources, the next rifle on the you know, mini trophy in the world with not nearly as much, in fact ten times less, is the M sixteen type rifle, you know, L fifteen M for M sixteen. Butever, whatever Okay, there's allegedly ten million of those on the planet, mkay, which is nothing compared to one hundred million. But it also tells you how easy the AK is to produce. It is that easy to make, and there're that meanion around ten times familiars names sixteen. That tells you something. It's very, very very cool. Anyways, another interesting fact about the AK is the cost. Now, a little while back, we were talking about the cost of the AK and I think if I remember, yes, yes, I remember correctly. It was on the Patriot Power Hour when I was talking with the guys about the cost of aks and other countries not in our country. Our country is insane the older priced on akas. But the average cost of an AK, depending on where you are, the average cost will be anywhere between three hundred and one hundred dollars. Now, there are you know, public markets that you can actually use for like a social unrest reading basically, how how soon or how quickly is social unrest going to take hold? Right? They say that the more expensive the AKA is, the more likely some kind of social unrest is about to happen, mkay. But you might be able to argue that metric for all guns. I mean, look at what's going on in America right now. Last year, in twenty twenty, we set a record in America for guns sold. We set a freaking record. Mkay. Well it is only let's see August fifth. It's only August fifth, and we are already uh I think if I'm Inmber correctly, we've already been that number they're sold in twenty twenty. So we're on. Track to. Far, far, far destroy that number in the firearm sold category here in America. Okay. Keep in mind though, that depending on where you are, in aka can be a lot cheaper. So they say that some akas in Afghanistan can actually be bought for about ten dollars. Now, I don't know if you guys remind me talking about this on the Patriot Power Hour. Some of you guys may afford that. Some of you guys may not have. But I did talk about some prices for ak's in other countries, and most people are definitely not happy to hear that. But the. But the general price, like if I remember cort, they cost about twenty five dollars to make in Russia, you know, ran New so I it's just one of those things you know, when when you're buying an aka and in another country, you should get the damn thing for you know, ten dollars or less. Lets you know exactly how difficult that rifle is to make, you know, with the right touring and stuff like that. You know, the Russians, you really, you really did a good job setting that up and making it easy to build them. You know what, just because something's easy to do doesn't mean that you should do it right. Course in this case, you know whatever, Alright. The next interesting fact is the the uh level of deadliness based How deadly is the Colossing cough? Well, there is literally no deadly weapon on the planet. Nothing else has even come close as far as a we you know, a a weapon made of metal and using gunpowder. There's nothing deadlier. Kay. They say that the Colossian cough kills about two hundred and fifty thousand people every year. That's a lot of fricking people, dude, two hundred and fifty k every year. Okay, That body count far surpasses any weapon on the planet made by humans. Kay. Even it even surpasses heavy weapons, you know, one hundred pound bombs, thousand pound bombs, nuke shit like that, because obviously that stuff doesn't get used all the time, right, not in the case of nukes, never, almost never. So yeah, the AK far far outweighs anything else. Okay, another interesting fact about the AKA. During the Iraq US war, US soldiers actually lost track of one hundred and ten thousand Aks, not one hundred, not one hundred and ten, one hundred and ten thousand of them. There's three zeros, well four, technically one hundred and ten thousand ak's went missing. They say that there were so many that ended up in the hands of anti American forces and insurgents and shing like that, that our uh our soldiers had to start uh issuing rs and in flours and things like that to the the Iraqi security forces, which is nuts to absolutely freaking nuts. I don't even know what to think about it. Let's see another interesting and kind of fun fact. There's actually an artist in Columbia named Caesar Lopez who actually will take AK forty seven's and turn them into, of all things, guitars. If you wanna see what that looks like, just do Google search for AK forty seven to tar and you actually see what they look like. It's pretty freaking cool, dude, it is, I think so. But yeah, you know they they don't have to be shooting. You know, they don't have to be used for shooting. They can be used for other things as well. Apparently, you will also be happy to know. If you are a fan of capitalism, or if you are a fan of making something out of yourself and making money, you may be happy to know. Another fun fact about the Aak is Kashnakoff actually did start to make quite a bit of money after the fall of the Soviet Union. He started to his own vodkaing or his own actually brand of vodka called Kashnakoff, which is freaking awestin doer so out some and he uh he used to do a lot of like speaking tours and things like that. In fact, I've seen videos online where uh carassing cough came to shooting ranges and autographed guns for people, and you know, just all kinds of really really neat stuff. Dude, So good all you know, I hope he uh hope he'll be made out of money and made himself happy. We ended up the last couple of years of result for notes about so and the final interesting fact I will give you is back in the day. A Missouri car dealership. Actually one time they offered free a free AK to any new customer buying a car. It it's kind of funny. I mean, I guess it's one way to get your hands on the AK, but it was definitely not an actual like real deal AK in the form they're known uh in the military. You know, because keep in mind that in actual AK, you know, one that is meant to function as the military version of the AK is going to have the automatic setting on the on the uh uh uh receiver. Mkay, uh, you're gonna have the three settings on there. You're gonna have safe, you're gonna have auto, and you're gonna have semi auto. Right. So obviously the ones that the car dealership were giving away the new customers were not the real deal. You know, I think they might get in a little bit of trouble because you know, obviously, you know, nineteen eighty six and all the silly NFA crap and blah blah blah blah blah. Right. Any who, So, there are quite a few interesting facts about the AKA and how it's built and so on. Mkay, if you want to get your hands on one I would suggest that you stick to if you can, I suggest that you stick to Russian ak's Chinese aks, even though you know, screw those guys, but they do make a decent AK from back in the day, like the NAC ninety, the m gems, so on and so forth. Right, Okay, so the Russian runs, the Chinese rus uh, the Bulgarian ak's really really really nice. The check well, it's not really in AK. It's a VZ fifty eight, but it's similar to an AKA. The VZ fifty eight is one of my holy girl runs. I really really wanna get my hands on. The one. Fun fact about the VZ fifty eight from uh Cechoslovakia that is actually the VZ fifty eight v as in Victor, uh Z as in Zoo obviously. The uh fun fact about the VZ fifty eight it is actually not a hammer fired gun like the AK is. You know, the ak's got the hammer inside the receiver, not the VZ fifty eight. The VZ fifty eight is actually a striker fired a salt rifle, if you will, or a striker fired main battle rifle, not exactly like but similar to a glock glock handguns are striker fired, right, So it's kind of interesting that a there is an iteration of the you know, it's kind of sort of like in ak uh the VZ fifty eight. Now, at one of the gunsmithing shops I worked at UH a few years back, most of the guys there had ak's and then they sold them and bought Z fifty eight's. I tried, but I couldn't find one that I liked, so I suckered my case for now. However, those guys were all fond of saying VZ fifty eight's are what ak's wanna be when they grow up. The VZ fifty eight is superior in many many ways to the AK. Maybe I'll do a show on that next week or one of these coming up weeks. I'll do a show on why the VZ fifty eight is actually superior to the AK and what features make it so, you know, what features make it better and why. Okay, so they'll probably be a lot to that when I do it, And I think you guys are really really enjoy that, you know, right, well, goodness gracious, I gotta say, guys, I think that it's one of those things where. There are. There are many solutions when it comes to giving a rifle that you can use to protect your home and protect your family, but the AK has got to be pretty much my hands down favorite. Now do I have any ours? Of course I do, you know, it's it's something that would behoove. It'st to be among my my stuff, right. It's very very important to have firearms that you can use in firems that you are familiar with. And if there's one firm there, if there's one firearm that I'm familiar with, it is the fifteen and of course the AK or the class cost model. So I think having both available is probably a very very good thing, especially depending on what ammunition is available. And as we know, both firearms actually come in both calibers. And maybe maybe you all didn't know that, but if you didn't, now you do, mkay. There is there are well, there are AR fifteens that come in seven sixty by thirty nine, obviously five five six. There are ars that come in five four five by thirty nine, which is the AK seventy four caliber. There are there are rs that come in nine milimeter. There are AR type rifles that come in twelve gauge. I have not seen any super well known rifles that are in the AR family that come in seven six two fifty four R yet kind of like the PSL or the Dragon Off. Now again, to call the Dragon Off an AK variant is a little bit of a stretch, but it does have some similarities, so I mean, I guess you could kind of call it an AK variant. I guess you could kind of call it that, but there are some major major differences with the with the Dragon Off or the s vd CR victor Delta. So anyways, and of course, like as you know, I just listed off all those different calibers and the different the ones that come the AAR fifteen comes in. Is there in AR in seven sixty two by thirty four R possibly? I just haven't seen it or looked it up. Now, as far as the ak's go, you know you've got them in seven sixt two by thirty nine and five four five by thirty nine, as well as they are available in five five six three L eight ars again veil in three h eight no problem. AK is available in nine millimeucrosc in. Ar aks are also available in twelve gage, twenty gauge, four ten gauge there's an AK variant available in seven sixty two by fifty four R. You know, like kind of like the PSL. Right, there's a vepper made in seventy two by fifty four R. Let's see. And of course you've got the dragon offs and tights and while of those are very hard to get a hold of, but you know from what I've read, they're whole white nice. So if you can get your hands on one, I mean, of course, do it, right, nothing'll all getting your hands on something that freaking cool. So anyways, that's kind of my opinion on that stuff. Good. Okas again, Russian, Chinese, Bulgarian, those are the ones that I like. I like the check ones. Ry ones are okay, Hungarian ones are okay, Yugosladian ones are okay. The US made ones pretty decent, pretty decent custom made ones like the ones made by Jim Fuller who left the Dynamics. Those are sexy with the capital s. So if you can get your hands on those, do it. You will not regret it if you can afford it, of course. Yeah, man, I mean that's that's pretty much it.
