[00:00:52] Okay now we're going to talk about bartering stuff.
[00:00:56] What do you have to trade?
[00:01:01] And here's the tip.
[00:01:03] You need to have something to trade that you make more of.
[00:01:07] Yeah, it's not something you stockpile.
[00:01:12] Do you understand?
[00:01:14] It's something that you create that is rare.
[00:01:18] You know we have salt.
[00:01:20] We have hundreds of pounds of salt but we're not trading it.
[00:01:25] We're keeping it for ourselves.
[00:01:28] Think about all the things that are barterable in SHTF.
[00:01:35] You can't make more silver.
[00:01:38] You can't make more salt unless you're sitting on top of a natural salt deposit.
[00:01:46] You know like a dry lake bed or something like that.
[00:01:51] So it has to be something that you create.
[00:01:54] You know whether it's food, if you can create more food to trade, whether it's livestock or skills.
[00:02:05] Or skills.
[00:02:06] You can barter skills.
[00:02:08] If it's manual labor you can split wood.
[00:02:12] If it's blacksmithing.
[00:02:14] If you can fabricate from metal that's a skill that you can barter.
[00:02:21] Some people store alcohol here at the Jones Homestead.
[00:02:26] We don't because we know how to make more whiskey.
[00:02:30] We can make practically unlimited supplies of whiskey.
[00:02:35] So we have stuff that we can trade here.
[00:02:41] And you need to think about what it is that you will be able to trade.
[00:02:48] And it can be labor.
[00:02:50] If you got a strong back everybody needs wood split.
[00:02:55] So there you go.
