[00:00:18] want to learn, practice independence and self-reliance. We are The Prepper Broadcasting Network. Hello everyone out there in internet radio land, this is Dave Jones, the NBC guy. How are you doing on this day after the 4th of July?
[00:00:42] Man, did you listen to the special episode? It was awesome. It was awesome. I look forward to it every year. So this is the 5th of July and I agree with the intrepid commander, we got to do something about these taxes.
[00:01:01] They say that our governor in Virginia is trying to get rid of the personal property tax that we pay the county every 6 months just to drive a car. Or, I'm paying on these trailers too. I have a little dinky, you know, one quarter, I don't know, half ton wire mesh trailer.
[00:01:30] You know, 5x8 trailer. And then I have that box trailer and I pay on them too. It's just brutal. Brutal is what it is. Anyway, so in the back channel, I must confess, in the back channel, there is brewing something big, PBN family, big.
[00:01:56] And I mean, you have got to listen this week to PBN because this is going to be, wow, off the hook. So that's all I'm going to say about that because I think the intrepid commander would like to break the news on that. But just know that it's awesome. It's big. It's going to be tons of content, true evaluation.
[00:02:25] And you won't get this anywhere else because we're the only ones that put the money where the mouth is. Hey, speaking of money where the mouth is, the other day we had an incident. And this always gets me going. It was right after I posted that daily audio cache about, you know, relax. Nothing's happening. These things go on regularly. You remember that DAC?
[00:02:55] Well, we lost Internet and phone connection, which is pretty bizarre. Sometimes that happens when we have a power failure. We definitely lose Internet when we have a power failure. But we usually still have cell service. So this was shocking.
[00:03:20] And I said to Maria, now, if we had this GMRS, because I had to drive down the road just to even report my outage, okay? I said, if we had this GMRS radios up and working, I'd be able to talk to you, even from the school. And I don't know if that's true or not, but possibly.
[00:03:51] So she said, get the radios. Man, never let a disaster go to waste, PBN family. So I am getting the radios. I am putting an antenna. I have an old television antenna tower. It's 30 or 40 feet high. And I'm going to put an antenna on top of that. And with my elevation the way it is right now,
[00:04:19] I'm pretty sure I can get out there pretty good ways with a 50-watt base station. So we'll see. I'm going to put one in the car, a mobile unit. I'm going to put one in the house. And we have handhelds that I think are 5 to 8 watts. So that's pretty good. That's pretty good.
[00:04:48] And I should tell you this. So Chin's helping me out. You know, he's the comms guy. He's the tech guy. So I said, Chin, I need a good base station. And he says, well, what do you got? And I took pictures of the two radios that I just pulled out. And he says, well, they're not going to talk to each other. One of them is a ham radio. And the other one is a GMR.
[00:05:16] And I'm like, oh, my gosh, that's right. I bought a ham radio. Back, this was way, way back. Never took it out of the box. So you know how good I am at ham radio operation. Yeah. Didn't get my license yet. This was back, I think, when the intrepid commander was running ham classes on PBN. Yeah. Yeah.
[00:05:43] Ladies and gentlemen, we try to get you every kind of prep we can. And get you prepping. So did you hear Jay Fergie's great interpretation of how the Star Spangled Banner was written? That was wonderful. I really, really liked that.
[00:06:08] And I have talked about that in my class, my history class, when it comes up. How it was written and why. Okay, PBN family, that's about it. I don't know. Oh, the chickens, the warden gave them a stay of execution. So the chickens are still clucking and laying eggs.
[00:06:36] They are the nicest chickens we've ever had. And it would have, well, today she said, okay, we're going to butcher them chickens. She's back and forth on this more times than I don't know how. They've had two stays. Midnight stays of execution. Yeah. Two of them. So we'll see. I don't think they'll make a third one. I think they're going to freezer camp. Just saying.
[00:07:05] Okay, PBN family, take care and prep on.
