[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host Phil Rabbley and my co-host Andrew Bobo is on the other side of the

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_03]: mic and here's your show.

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And welcome back to the Matterfacts podcast.

[00:00:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Phil is sitting here with Andrew and Jordan from Phoenix Survival on the Prepper Broadcasting

[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Network.

[00:00:29] [SPEAKER_03]: We might have a fourth seat if he can make it in.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll just have to wait and see.

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_03]: But if so, we're going to give him plenty of crap about being late.

[00:00:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, perfect timing!

[00:00:41] [SPEAKER_00]: Hot seat.

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Just in time for the abuse for being late.

[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I deserve every bit of it.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_01]: I was waiting out at the family to leave and they're not having a hot lift yet.

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Why you gotta say the F word?

[00:00:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Now I feel bad about abusing you.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_00]: James.

[00:00:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I loved you until I just looked at that.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Wait, what?

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: What does that mean?

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_03]: What are we going to do?

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Look underneath his icy.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, his icy?

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: I can't believe it.

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even have to enter that.

[00:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: That saved it from the podcast long ago.

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_03]: The only pronouns acceptable on this podcast are he, him, she, her and age 64 attack

[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_03]: helicopter.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Those are the three genders on the Matterfacts podcast.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Pick one.

[00:01:26] [SPEAKER_01]: That was from years ago.

[00:01:27] [SPEAKER_01]: That might have been from like four years ago that his, them, they, him.

[00:01:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I can't believe that's even on here.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_04]: They, my job.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: That's pretty cool of StreamYard to keep that stuff.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, very inclusive.

[00:01:40] [SPEAKER_04]: My word.

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Is it chaos behind in the microphone?

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Can you hear like all the background noise?

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's getting ready.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_04]: There are some background noise but.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: You guys can do your thing.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Nah, you're fine.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Give more work for Phil.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But no, my job.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_04]: We had to do some inclusive, whatever the training is.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And they were going over pronouns and everything.

[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And they.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I could have been a fly on the wall for that one.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Also it's funny because like couple of the guys that I work with are a little bit more

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_04]: outspoken than I am.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm just whatever.

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Just do it because it's just get it over with.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I got, but I got them going because I said, hey, are you guys done with

[00:02:20] [SPEAKER_04]: it yet?

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And they're like, no.

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I said, well, when you get to the very end, one of the requirements is we have to put

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_04]: pronouns in our email.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And the one dude was like what?

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And I go, yeah.

[00:02:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I said, so when you get done both the whole thing, like they want you like you have

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_04]: to send the email to basically like HR or whatever and confirm that you did this

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_04]: and you're supposed to have pronouns in your email or there's discipline or action

[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_04]: and like they just were all man.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_04]: It was so funny.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_04]: The one dude's like, I'm I'm going to do.

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Like I can't remember what he said he was going to do.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, they they it was so funny.

[00:02:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I and I let him go for like a few minutes and I was like, I was just kidding.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_01]: So what did you do?

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_01]: You should have sent him one with a.

[00:03:01] [SPEAKER_01]: That would have been the kick he'd have been like, oh, God, we're really.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_03]: But any who's.

[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: So before we get to the top today, I do have to take a brief second to

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_03]: brag because I just found this out recently.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: But Louisiana is joining those states that believe in constitutional

[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_03]: and protective freedoms and doesn't believe in making people, you know,

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_03]: beg for government permission slip before carrying a firearm.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Hallelujah about.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Hallelujah.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: We're getting used to this.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.

[00:03:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I do have to say like bear in mind that like I've been an advocate

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_03]: of constitutional carry in this state for a great number of years.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I have harassed several politicians about this.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Several politicians.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Not you.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I might I might I might have called one or two of them some very

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_03]: ununkind words like cuck and sell out and you know, rhino.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I might have said he one tied up in the back there.

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I I might have said some some unkind things here and there.

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, we finally got.

[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Wow, that's a pretty fun idea for your baby.

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_03]: It is a family show.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_03]: But.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But, you know, the thing of it is, is like I'm just glad we finally got

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_03]: the right mix of reasonable, semi-intelligent people in the halls

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_03]: of Congress in our state.

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: And we got a governor that is a complete douche canoe that would

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_03]: finally pass constitutional carry to do something that should have

[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_03]: never required a law in the first place.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: So I just have to say to all of our state lawmakers when it

[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_00]: delay states in the South, are you not?

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.

[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Because Mississippi became constitutional carry and open carry

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: probably about six years ago.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And we thought we were one of the last states.

[00:04:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Now, to be fair, Louisiana has been an open carry state for a

[00:04:59] [SPEAKER_03]: lot of years, but concealed carry required a permit.

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_03]: And the problem is every time this got brought up, there was

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: this huge outcry from law enforcement saying that if everyone's

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: allowed to carry a gun, it's going to be, you know, officer

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: safety and blah, blah, blah, blah, as if crackheads and

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_03]: criminals and thieves and you know, murderers and rapists don't

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_03]: carry concealed weapons already.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Whatever.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll give you that.

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll give you that large one consistently for just the

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_03]: briefest of moments.

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: But me being in the anarcho libertarian, I look at it from

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: the other direction of if you require a disarmed populace

[00:05:31] [SPEAKER_03]: to enforce the law, either you're doing it wrong or your

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_03]: laws are stupid.

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Just a thought.

[00:05:39] [SPEAKER_03]: But anyway,

[00:05:40] [SPEAKER_03]: it's good news.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Now that's great news.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully it spreads like a virus.

[00:05:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so it looks like Alabama, Ohio, India and Georgia just

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_00]: passed it to right after y'all.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it's spreading slowly but stubbornly.

[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad to see more and more states are getting on the

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: gate, getting on board with constitutional carry.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I think it sends a very clear message to the

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_03]: people that your rights are being respected.

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And I think it sends a very clear message to people who

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_03]: would harm those peace-loving people that you do so at

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_03]: your own risk.

[00:06:13] [SPEAKER_00]: See, the only downside is South Carolina, they will

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_00]: allow you to carry but you still want to have a

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: conceal if that makes sense.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_00]: It's just even when I got my enhanced carry in

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Mississippi, that was the only type of recognition that

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: South Carolina had was an enhanced carry.

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, we used to, I wish we could get enhanced carry.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_04]: They were talking about doing it for a hot second.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: And then I got, actually, I think I believe I remember

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it, it did get passed and then our Republican governor

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_04]: vetoed it.

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, not by now.

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so yeah, it, so I don't know.

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: But Michigan has had pro gun legislation pretty much

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: for the last 40 years but that has come to a

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: screeching halt.

[00:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Because the voter fraud that ran rampant through

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Michigan during the last election basically flipped

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_04]: both houses or both, you know, both chambers blue.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So now Michigan's a complete blue state and they have

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_01]: been Michigan makes no sense.

[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: And they have been pushing what's going on there.

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: They have been pushing a lot of anti gun legislation

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_04]: down our throats.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Like we just got, they're pushing right now, I guess

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I've heard that they're pushed, they're writing up

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_04]: an assault weapons man.

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: They are, they push, they're trying to push through

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_04]: a 14 day waiting period.

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: They pushed through red flag laws, safe laws.

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_04]: They pushed through, yeah, they redid our

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: registration because we've always had, we've

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_04]: had pistol registration for years, which I don't

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_04]: know why that didn't get thrown out when we

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_04]: had both chambers and the governorship and stuff.

[00:08:07] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, it right now they just changed it to where

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_04]: if you do not, it basically is going to push more

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: people to get CPLs, which honestly isn't a bad

[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_04]: thing. But still you need basically if you don't

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_04]: have a CPL and you want to buy a firearm, a pistol,

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_04]: you then you have to go to your local cop shop,

[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_04]: get fingerprinted and get a background check.

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_04]: And I don't know if you have to get

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_04]: fingerprinted. I do believe you have to get a

[00:08:33] [SPEAKER_04]: background check if anything, which I don't know how

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_04]: much it costs. But then you have to then go to,

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you take that slip that they clear you on and

[00:08:42] [SPEAKER_04]: you have to take that to your gun shop and then

[00:08:45] [SPEAKER_04]: and then you can buy a firearm begging the crown

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_04]: for permission. Yeah. So yeah.

[00:08:51] [SPEAKER_04]: So that changed. Yeah, it's ridiculous.

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean, there's going to be there's going to be

[00:08:56] [SPEAKER_04]: another mass shooting or I guess what they

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_04]: consider a mass shooting. And then I'm sure they'll

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_04]: probably push through because this all got pushed

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_04]: through because the MSU shooting that happened

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_04]: from a Drange lunatic who had tons of warning

[00:09:09] [SPEAKER_04]: signs was being watched by the police and did

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_04]: nothing and they did nothing. So yeah, so we'll

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_04]: see. And I'm curious to see what all happens

[00:09:19] [SPEAKER_04]: in the future. But unfortunately,

[00:09:22] [SPEAKER_04]: with the thing that sucks is yeah, they can

[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_04]: push through over the salt weapons ban. And you

[00:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: can bet your left, whatever you want to say.

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: I will not be complying. But what sucks is you

[00:09:35] [SPEAKER_04]: can sit there and they'll push it through and

[00:09:39] [SPEAKER_04]: its law until it gets overturned in the courts,

[00:09:41] [SPEAKER_04]: which it will eventually. Those laws only hurt

[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: the law of Biden's innocence. That's the

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_00]: only downside is all of those laws and

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: legislations only hurt the law of Biden

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: people, which you are then mass populating

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: victims. You are purposely putting targets on

[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: the backs of those who just want to follow

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_03]: the law. But that's the whole idea.

[00:10:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That's the point. It's sad because it's like

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_00]: for Chris, when he moved down, he was

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_00]: shocked that he didn't have to have a license

[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: just to be able to purchase a gun or to be

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_00]: able to be considered for even purchase a

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: gun in which most cases you still have to

[00:10:19] [SPEAKER_00]: get permission just to be able to be

[00:10:21] [SPEAKER_00]: considered to get the license to be able

[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: to purchase a gun. So that's the whole

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: thing. Then once they get a gun, it has to

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: be registered. They have to have a special

[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: license to then own that gun besides being

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_00]: able to purchase that gun. And it's just

[00:10:35] [SPEAKER_00]: as terrible. And then he came down here

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: and goes, wait, you don't have one of

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_00]: these? I'm like, no, I can just go to

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: the store and buy a gun if I really

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_00]: want one. It's no, I feel free all

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: north. Nope. I'm amazed they let people

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_01]: own guns in Baltimore at all, to be

[00:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: honest with you. Not very many people

[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: are allowed to buy guns. And that's the

[00:10:55] [SPEAKER_00]: people who are legally trying to buy

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_00]: guns. It's the most difficult for them,

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: which is the problem because there's a

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: lot of women who were men and women who

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_00]: work on shady sides of town with the

[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_00]: church with anything else. And the

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_00]: only thing that's preventing them from

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: being able to defend themselves is the

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: call the laws and the restrictions in

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: order just to be able to be considered

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_00]: to purchase a gun. Yeah, yeah. Yeah,

[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to be surprised if, honestly,

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I wouldn't be surprised if Michigan, if

[00:11:24] [SPEAKER_04]: they started going after gutting our

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_04]: CPLs. I know there was rumors about them

[00:11:28] [SPEAKER_04]: basically trying to gut our CPL. I mean

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_04]: obviously, the actually, I believe they

[00:11:33] [SPEAKER_04]: did pass it. You yeah, yeah, I believe

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_04]: they did pass it like you're not allowed

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_04]: like you can't be within like so many

[00:11:41] [SPEAKER_04]: feet of a polling station, a polling

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_04]: box, like all kinds of crap. So I don't

[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_04]: know. Yeah, it's ridiculous. It and

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_04]: hopefully, hopefully that comes to an

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_04]: end that people I'm hoping the people

[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of got their heads out of their

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_04]: butts this last couple years because

[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: with the new election coming around,

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_04]: they it was interesting to see some of

[00:12:02] [SPEAKER_04]: the polls from this last Tuesday from

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: the primaries and stuff. So I am

[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_04]: really hoping that getting them

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_04]: to turn around because the I mean,

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and whether it's Democrat or Republican

[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_04]: in office, I mean, the government

[00:12:18] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't care about you. They say

[00:12:20] [SPEAKER_04]: they might because they want votes and

[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: they want money, but government does

[00:12:24] [SPEAKER_04]: not care and they will do what they

[00:12:27] [SPEAKER_04]: can to stay in power. And that includes

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_04]: disarming the populace and hurting the

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_04]: people. So I'm hoping that people woke

[00:12:34] [SPEAKER_04]: up and they kind of voted more and did

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_04]: some research on some stuff. But yeah,

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_04]: we'll see. So speaking of waking up.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_03]: So we post this question that is the

[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_03]: topic of the show. What do you wish

[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_03]: you knew about prepping when you

[00:12:48] [SPEAKER_03]: started? We post this question on the

[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_03]: last show. Nobody responded. I was a

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: little I had the sadds. Andrew had the

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_03]: sadds. But then I asked the PPN crew

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I knew it was not going to happen.

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: But I asked the PPN crew and I asked

[00:13:03] [SPEAKER_03]: the matter of facts, minions and we

[00:13:05] [SPEAKER_03]: got responses. So this show is what I

[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_03]: wish I knew when I started prepping

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_03]: and I thought we would invite James

[00:13:13] [SPEAKER_03]: from PPN and Jordan from Fianna's

[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Revival on to kind of, you know,

[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_03]: help us talk through some of these

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_03]: responses. And I think I might have

[00:13:22] [SPEAKER_03]: grabbed one of y'all's responses. If I

[00:13:25] [SPEAKER_03]: did great if I didn't then at the end

[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: of all this will all give our own

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_03]: personal thoughts. But one of the big

[00:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: ones and I see this one very, very

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_03]: frequently is food venturing outside

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_03]: prepackaged meals into buckets and

[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_03]: mylar bags because I feel like you

[00:13:40] [SPEAKER_03]: know a lot of a lot of people when

[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_03]: they start their preparedness journey

[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_03]: they start off firmly entrenched in

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_03]: like Mountain House and the buck

[00:13:48] [SPEAKER_03]: the buck, the ubiquitous buckets of

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_03]: freeze-dried prepper food. And while I

[00:13:52] [SPEAKER_03]: feel like that has a place it's not the

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_03]: most cost effective option. It's not

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_03]: locally available. You know, it like

[00:14:02] [SPEAKER_03]: it becomes a limiting factor at a

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_03]: certain point and one of our patrons

[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: said he would kind of wish he had

[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_03]: come to this he'd known this when

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_03]: he first started out it could have

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_03]: made his dollar stretch a lot further

[00:14:12] [SPEAKER_03]: if he had just got the buckets, got

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_03]: the mylar bags and then prepped

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_03]: out of his prep, you know prepped right

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_03]: out of his grocery store out basically.

[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah I mean the thing is though is the

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: I believe in you know the whole

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: two is one one is none thing and I

[00:14:29] [SPEAKER_04]: like having the idea of having

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_04]: multiples and having a variety so I

[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: have MREs, I have Mountain House, I

[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: have bucket food, I have all that

[00:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: so it's nice having a variety of

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_04]: stuff but I mean I do what I do

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: what they say I do understand what

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: they're saying but my biggest thing

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_04]: with the mylar bags and the buckets is

[00:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: like mylar bags my biggest thing I

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_04]: just I didn't know where to start

[00:14:53] [SPEAKER_04]: with the mylar bags. I you know there's

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_04]: not really really nobody around me was

[00:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: using them and so it just when it

[00:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: came down to mylar bags I was like

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_04]: well I kind of think I know what I'm

[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_04]: doing but if I don't seal it right

[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: then it's kind of hosed where the

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: MREs you're paying a little bit

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: extra and then the Mountain House

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_04]: and stuff like that but that's all

[00:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: freeze dry you know are pretty much

[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: freeze-dried it's packaged individually

[00:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: like it's got the proportions it's got

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_04]: the directions and all that stuff on

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_04]: it so you know there it's a give and

[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: take I mean it's kind of like it's

[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_04]: almost it's basically like if you

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_04]: you know yeah I like you if you like

[00:15:30] [SPEAKER_04]: to change your own oil but then

[00:15:32] [SPEAKER_04]: someone who doesn't really know or

[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_04]: doesn't really have time to do with

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_04]: the convenience of going to paint

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_04]: a little bit extra to have it done

[00:15:38] [SPEAKER_04]: you know it's just the convenience

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_04]: of it so you have the convenience

[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_04]: of everything is it's pre-packaged

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_04]: and everything but by all means the

[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_04]: buckets like I mean I talked to Stuart

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_04]: and he gave a whole I actually need to

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_04]: go through the chat again and hopefully

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I have it because when I got my new

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_04]: phone I lost a bunch of crap but I had

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_04]: a whole bucket list of stuff that he

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_04]: sent me and it was exactly it was

[00:16:01] [SPEAKER_04]: like 2,000 calories was enough food

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_04]: basically for not 2,000 how is enough

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_04]: food for basically one person for a

[00:16:07] [SPEAKER_04]: month in a five gallon bucket

[00:16:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I've bottled that I have two buckets

[00:16:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to probably throw up another

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_04]: four I think here soon and call it good

[00:16:17] [SPEAKER_04]: but that's all buckets and that's beans

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and rice and a bunch of other stuff

[00:16:20] [SPEAKER_04]: not dealing with really mylar bags

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_04]: but I don't know I vacuumed so the

[00:16:24] [SPEAKER_00]: beans and the rice because the people

[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_00]: don't consider the amount of bugs

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_00]: that are already in your food if you

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_00]: suffocate it I mean one less thing

[00:16:32] [SPEAKER_00]: you have to worry about spoilage

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_00]: but I feel like so I haven't tried

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the mylar bags at all I watch James

[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and everybody else do it I'm

[00:16:42] [SPEAKER_00]: definitely curious but at the same

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_00]: time I feel like there's a lot of

[00:16:45] [SPEAKER_00]: undervalue to cannon I got that something

[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_00]: I really had wish I'd gotten into a

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_00]: lot sooner or cooking from scratch I

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_00]: understand where a lot of people feel

[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_00]: like oh that's extra work but as I get

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_00]: older and my food allergy that has

[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_00]: gotten worse over the years I wish

[00:17:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I had done that more and more and

[00:17:05] [SPEAKER_00]: that's why I'm pushing myself to make

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: as much as I can whether it be a

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_00]: homemade from scratch can it preserve

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: it whatever I can do on my own

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_00]: outside of certain things I feel like

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_00]: isn't given enough credit for what it

[00:17:18] [SPEAKER_00]: needs to be cooking from scratch is a

[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_00]: big deal a lot of people yeah I

[00:17:22] [SPEAKER_00]: understand oh it's so difficult no it

[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: just takes practice and so my

[00:17:27] [SPEAKER_00]: downfalls right now I don't have

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_00]: enough practice to be able to say

[00:17:30] [SPEAKER_00]: hey this is the best bread I've made

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm putting that up and James is

[00:17:35] [SPEAKER_00]: going to smile because he's a

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: professional cook but I'm over there

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_00]: James what what about this meal every

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_00]: now and then hey I made this tonight

[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's not because I'm trying to

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_00]: brag but I'm hoping that he'll give me

[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_00]: some sort of input of oh that sounds

[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_00]: good have you tried this or you have

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_00]: tried that and so for me you know

[00:17:55] [SPEAKER_00]: mylar seems like a big big investment

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_00]: for me but cannon I'm sure to

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_00]: somebody else's is as well but

[00:18:01] [SPEAKER_00]: that's a full pre-prefixed meal

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_00]: there's one less thing I have to

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_00]: worry about doing I can just heat it

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_00]: up or mix it with whatever I dehydrate

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_00]: and I may you know put away my own

[00:18:13] [SPEAKER_00]: herbs I actually have a bat a coffee

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_00]: grinder specifically for herbs my own

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_00]: man I make my own paprika and chili

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_00]: powder and everything else so I think

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_00]: that's something that doesn't get

[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_00]: enough credit and being able to

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_00]: cook from scratch and then you're

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: saving even more money because the

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_00]: only thing that's going to cost you

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_00]: was time and you manage your time if

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_00]: you have enough time to sit and watch

[00:18:38] [SPEAKER_00]: an entire movie or play an hour to a

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_00]: video games or whatever whatever your

[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: vices you have enough time to put to

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: side to prep a meal for a week or to

[00:18:50] [SPEAKER_00]: go ahead and be able to put away

[00:18:52] [SPEAKER_00]: those dried beans and and vegetables

[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_00]: or whatever it is you got so you know

[00:18:58] [SPEAKER_00]: for me I didn't mean to take that

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_02]: point no but I definitely feel like

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: vacuum stealing and cannon and cooking

[00:19:04] [SPEAKER_00]: from scratch cannon is an investment the

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_00]: first year it is a big investment but by

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_00]: the second and third year it will have

[00:19:12] [SPEAKER_00]: more than paid for itself because you're

[00:19:14] [SPEAKER_00]: recycling the cans you're figuring out

[00:19:17] [SPEAKER_00]: your process but again cooking from

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: scratch it for me buying a month's

[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_00]: worth of groceries and having all the

[00:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: powder flour yeast everything I need

[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: it's so much cheaper than trying to go

[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_00]: buy a loaf of bread which has all these

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_00]: extra preservatives and everything but I

[00:19:34] [SPEAKER_00]: found maybe one one or two brands of

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: bread don't have soybean oil there's

[00:19:38] [SPEAKER_00]: soybean in everything and that is a

[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_00]: dangerous allergy for me even with

[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_00]: potato chips salt and vinegar chips are

[00:19:46] [SPEAKER_00]: probably the only chips I found other

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_00]: than one other one that doesn't have

[00:19:51] [SPEAKER_00]: soybean oil in it no it's interesting

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean but that's a thing yeah and

[00:19:54] [SPEAKER_04]: that's the thing is like cooking from

[00:19:55] [SPEAKER_04]: scratch and I mean just by I mean I

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_04]: guess we're kind of both getting off

[00:20:00] [SPEAKER_04]: topic here with the what you saw

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Phil had up there but anyway I mean

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_04]: cooking from scratch you're basically

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_04]: your label reading I mean Phil he he I

[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_04]: know he started label reading I know I

[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_04]: started a little bit here and there I

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_04]: need to get better at it but yeah just

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_04]: cooking from scratch and I need to get

[00:20:19] [SPEAKER_04]: better at cooking like and actually

[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: cooking from scratch on a lot of

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_04]: different things but lately I've

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: changed my diet to basically it's just a

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_04]: steak and eggs lately for dinner

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_04]: which is pretty not I don't know it's

[00:20:32] [SPEAKER_04]: not really hard that hard

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm a high protein high fat low carbs

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_00]: no refined sugars that's what we do in

[00:20:39] [SPEAKER_00]: our house and I feel the best and Phil

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_00]: will be able to understand hypoglycemia

[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_00]: is less of an issue for for me even I

[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: usually have maybe an episode with it

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_00]: once or twice a year on not being on

[00:20:52] [SPEAKER_00]: a restrictive diet now I haven't had any

[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_03]: issues see I was having I was having

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_03]: an episode of hypoglycemia like two to

[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_03]: three times a month like that's how

[00:21:03] [SPEAKER_03]: severe mine was before my wife and I

[00:21:05] [SPEAKER_03]: completely revamped our diets and it

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_03]: was just it was junk it was sugar and

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_03]: it was carbs and it was crap and the

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_03]: minute I got rid of all that stuff and

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_03]: like my go-to lunch nowadays is a

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_03]: cheat is a cheese and bacon omelet

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe a piece of like grilled toast

[00:21:23] [SPEAKER_03]: maybe a couple links of sausage or

[00:21:25] [SPEAKER_03]: whatever but it's all eggs and meat and

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_03]: lots of fat and butter

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_03]: God Almighty it the one thing you do

[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_03]: butter living well and I will tell you

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_03]: this for those of you out there who if

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_03]: you know how to cook if you know how

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_03]: to cook from scratch or if you bake

[00:21:41] [SPEAKER_03]: from scratch which I'm a baker the

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_03]: single best thing you can do for your

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_03]: health and make all your food taste

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_03]: a lot freaking better is every recipe

[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_03]: you find that has oil in it get rid

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_03]: of the oil put in a complimentary amount

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_03]: of melted butter I swear to God

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_03]: everything you bake will taste better

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_03]: with butter than with vegetable I think

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_00]: it's a one-to-one oil I mean one-to-one

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_00]: ratio replacement because I do the same

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_03]: thing yep I'm gonna tell you that I did

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_03]: that with like I make I don't and

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_03]: again I try to limit the amount of

[00:22:15] [SPEAKER_03]: junk food but let's call what is if

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_03]: you're really good baker you're gonna

[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_03]: bake some some pretty pretty you're

[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_03]: gonna base you're gonna bake some

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_03]: very tasty but not necessarily healthy

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_03]: things fairly frequently so on the

[00:22:26] [SPEAKER_00]: weekends when I get a lot with honey I

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_00]: don't know how you do it because I can't

[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_00]: each I don't eat anything I cook with

[00:22:32] [SPEAKER_00]: sugar I don't eat it in this house we

[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_03]: actually go tend to default to maple

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_03]: syrup but I like I do like honey on my

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_03]: pancakes or sometimes I'll just skip

[00:22:42] [SPEAKER_03]: that and just go straight for like a

[00:22:43] [SPEAKER_03]: pat of butter and let that be that but

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I was gonna say the the the recipe I've

[00:22:48] [SPEAKER_03]: been using for years for pancakes calls

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_03]: for oil I started using butter in it

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_03]: instead and the first time I did it I had

[00:22:56] [SPEAKER_03]: my wife and my daughter both commenting

[00:22:58] [SPEAKER_03]: how much better the pancakes tasted and

[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_03]: that's the only thing I changed was

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_03]: just take the oil out put the butter in

[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_03]: and lo and behold the pancakes tasted

[00:23:07] [SPEAKER_03]: more buttery how about that that's a

[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_01]: really that's the real deal pancake

[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_01]: recipe that's what it is what your

[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_00]: opinion on Crisco or lard oh lard is

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_01]: the king lard real real lard is the

[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_01]: king especially if you swap in if you're

[00:23:26] [SPEAKER_01]: swapping things for baking there's no

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_01]: cook there's no comparison to swapping

[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_01]: oils for lard maybe even butter for lard

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_01]: depending on what it is your baking I

[00:23:36] [SPEAKER_03]: actually had two full jars sitting in

[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_03]: the freeze fit sitting in the fridge

[00:23:40] [SPEAKER_03]: right now and about start another one

[00:23:42] [SPEAKER_03]: that is literally top-to-bottom nothing

[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_03]: but bacon and sausage grease

[00:23:48] [SPEAKER_03]: and I use it I use it to season my

[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_03]: cast iron pans religiously is on

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_03]: recycling yet but anytime you get a

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_03]: recipe that calls for like Crisco or

[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_03]: something like that I just go dig a

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_03]: chunk out of there and here's the

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_03]: thing a bit we cook so much bacon and

[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_03]: sausage in this house or at least I do

[00:24:06] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not like America it's not even

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_03]: gonna run anytime soon matter of fact if

[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm if I'm thinking ahead when I'm

[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_03]: baking or from if I'm cooking things I

[00:24:14] [SPEAKER_03]: will segregate some of the sausage

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_03]: grease off to the side to use to season

[00:24:18] [SPEAKER_03]: the pan after I'm done cleaning it out

[00:24:21] [SPEAKER_03]: but anyway this turn into a baking show

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_03]: all of a sudden I think it might be

[00:24:26] [SPEAKER_03]: dinner time that's so

[00:24:31] [SPEAKER_03]: oh Andrew and I are fighting over the

[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_03]: banner save banner so this is this was

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_03]: a couple of people actually said

[00:24:40] [SPEAKER_03]: something in the in this vein find

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_03]: real mentors not people selling junk

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_03]: where's the real information there's

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_04]: one place called prepper broadcasting

[00:24:48] [SPEAKER_04]: network I don't think we've heard of it

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you beat me to hucksters total hucksters

[00:24:53] [SPEAKER_01]: over there at prepper freaking chill

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_00]: man chill might be lizard people I

[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_04]: heard they're a bunch of definitely

[00:25:01] [SPEAKER_03]: stay away from the lizard people a

[00:25:03] [SPEAKER_03]: matter of facts those two are complete

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_03]: knuckleheads they have no idea what

[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_03]: they're talking about true but no

[00:25:09] [SPEAKER_03]: seriously like I I I kind of on the

[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_03]: one hand I kind of feel this on a

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_03]: personal level because like when I

[00:25:18] [SPEAKER_03]: first came into this I came into this

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_03]: from a perspective of like you know

[00:25:23] [SPEAKER_03]: some of the things I was doing in

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness I grown up doing like my

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_03]: parents would never ever admit that

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_03]: living on the Gulf Coast and having a

[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_03]: box of hurricane stuff was prepared

[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_03]: is but that's what it was so like this

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_03]: idea that we need non-perishable

[00:25:38] [SPEAKER_03]: food we need water and we need

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_03]: batteries for flashlights like I grew

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_03]: up doing that my earliest some of my

[00:25:43] [SPEAKER_03]: youngest memories are helping mom and

[00:25:47] [SPEAKER_03]: dad get the the box of hurricane stuff

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_03]: ready every freaking hurricane season it

[00:25:51] [SPEAKER_03]: was just a thing we did and then the

[00:25:53] [SPEAKER_03]: end of hurricane season you take all

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_03]: of what you take the peanut butter and

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_03]: the crackers and all that stuff out

[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you put in your pantry and you eat it

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_03]: so that way doesn't sit there for

[00:26:01] [SPEAKER_03]: years and then it goes stale but

[00:26:03] [SPEAKER_03]: like on the one hand I came into

[00:26:06] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness knowing a lot of that

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_03]: stuff because that was that was old

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_03]: hand but then there were some other

[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_03]: things that I really I've had to learn

[00:26:14] [SPEAKER_03]: as I went and finding accurate sources

[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_03]: of information that we're trying to give

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_03]: you knowledge and not sell you BS

[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_03]: sometimes that can be a trick

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_03]: especially in the modern world of

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_03]: social media where everybody is an

[00:26:29] [SPEAKER_03]: everybody's an expert when the camera

[00:26:31] [SPEAKER_00]: is on yeah and another thing is do

[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_00]: your research because there's been a

[00:26:36] [SPEAKER_00]: number of books that I've came across

[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: that had some very inaccurate

[00:26:40] [SPEAKER_00]: information to the point was dangerous

[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: just for example soap making there's a

[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_00]: certain way you know that you handle

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_00]: lie in water and one way goes smoothly

[00:26:52] [SPEAKER_00]: another way will cause it to splash back

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and cause burns and so I mean and

[00:26:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I've seen the same thing with herbs I

[00:26:59] [SPEAKER_00]: love knowing our fellow to know the

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_00]: equivalent of any pharmaceutical

[00:27:03] [SPEAKER_00]: medications since I was a pharmacy

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_00]: tech for eight years it just kills me

[00:27:08] [SPEAKER_00]: the number of books I've encountered

[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: in which one herb they're saying is

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_00]: used for something can't be ingested at

[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_00]: all so it's just do your research on

[00:27:18] [SPEAKER_00]: top of whatever you learn because

[00:27:21] [SPEAKER_00]: just because someone is willing to

[00:27:23] [SPEAKER_00]: teach you directly doesn't mean

[00:27:24] [SPEAKER_00]: they're teaching you safer correct

[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_00]: information so that's another thing is

[00:27:28] [SPEAKER_00]: it finding people to learn from

[00:27:30] [SPEAKER_00]: directly is amazing like like feel I

[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I learned what I learned out of

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_00]: necessity from being poor and trial

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and error but it being able to reach

[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_00]: out for me is I love running into

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_00]: people that I can sit and have one on

[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: one on one conversations with but I

[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: you know there's so much misinformation

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_00]: so don't hesitate to listen to what

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_00]: someone's doing but also do your own

[00:27:56] [SPEAKER_00]: research on top of it because I mean

[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I can I can tell Phil this guy's

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_00]: purple all day long but until he

[00:28:02] [SPEAKER_00]: gets up off his butt goes and

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_00]: doubles checks you know so I just

[00:28:06] [SPEAKER_04]: wanted to also throw out there so

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_04]: people are asking where's the real

[00:28:09] [SPEAKER_04]: information September 27th 28th and

[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_04]: 29th prepper chilling again yeah

[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_00]: prepper camp is no seriously no I

[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_00]: that's the thing is the plug faster

[00:28:24] [SPEAKER_04]: no that's a thing is prepper camp I

[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: mean if you all want to find a place

[00:28:28] [SPEAKER_04]: that is a good source of information

[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: they have a ton of instructors

[00:28:34] [SPEAKER_04]: and they're teaching everything I mean

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't even know where to begin like

[00:28:39] [SPEAKER_04]: they teach all kinds of stuff and so

[00:28:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it's really good to it's really good

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_04]: to see it and everything from black

[00:28:47] [SPEAKER_03]: smithing to cyber security that's

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_03]: the way I sell to people like everything

[00:28:52] [SPEAKER_00]: in the middle it literally is

[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_00]: everything and Joe so if you come to

[00:28:57] [SPEAKER_00]: prepper camp you don't have to do

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_00]: research but you can take notes

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_00]: usually in the best yeah yeah take

[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: notes take lots of notes bring a

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_04]: notebook yeah so that's what I'm saying

[00:29:08] [SPEAKER_04]: is in September if you want to learn

[00:29:10] [SPEAKER_04]: from some if you want to learn from

[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: people who know what they're talking

[00:29:13] [SPEAKER_04]: about and then the thing is to what's

[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_04]: what's interesting is I mean and I

[00:29:17] [SPEAKER_04]: know Phil and I've talked about this

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_04]: before but you go to the class it's

[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_04]: a 45 minute long class you go to it

[00:29:23] [SPEAKER_04]: and then when the person when

[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_04]: the instructor is done if you follow

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_04]: them back to their their booth area

[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_04]: and you decide to talk to them

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_04]: more you can spend another however

[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_04]: many hours until they say hey I

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_04]: gotta go do something and then like

[00:29:36] [SPEAKER_04]: you can talk to them a lot of

[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: personable people they're there to

[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_04]: share knowledge I have never had a

[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_04]: conversation where I walked up to

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_04]: somebody had a question and the

[00:29:47] [SPEAKER_04]: person's like nah I'm not sharing it's

[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: always hey let's talk and next thing

[00:29:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you know it's been an hour and

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_04]: you're talking and like you've

[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_04]: learned a crap ton more than what

[00:29:56] [SPEAKER_04]: you what you learned in the class

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_04]: so go to prepper camp tickets are

[00:30:01] [SPEAKER_04]: still on sale proper camp dot com

[00:30:03] [SPEAKER_03]: on the other thing I'll say even though

[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_03]: we've said it before is like it's not

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_03]: just it's not just the subject matter

[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_03]: experts and the instructors like

[00:30:10] [SPEAKER_03]: some of the coolest experiences I've

[00:30:13] [SPEAKER_03]: had at prepper camp have been sitting

[00:30:15] [SPEAKER_03]: around the campfire with when most of

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_03]: the time like showing off this new

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_03]: piece of gear that somebody brought

[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_03]: out and then there's at least four

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_03]: of us around the fire they're like

[00:30:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I have to have one of those where

[00:30:26] [SPEAKER_03]: did you get it like it it's this

[00:30:28] [SPEAKER_03]: it's this cool experience when you

[00:30:30] [SPEAKER_03]: get yeah well it's networking but

[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_03]: when you get this many people that

[00:30:33] [SPEAKER_03]: are into preparedness together in one

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_03]: place inevitably you're going to wind

[00:30:39] [SPEAKER_03]: up rubbing off on each other and it's

[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_03]: this great opportunity to network and

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_03]: make friends but it's also this

[00:30:44] [SPEAKER_03]: really cool experience to check out

[00:30:45] [SPEAKER_03]: at yours gear and talk about

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_03]: different skills and different

[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_03]: techniques and different products and

[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_03]: different sub other subject matter

[00:30:52] [SPEAKER_03]: experts that didn't come to prepper

[00:30:54] [SPEAKER_03]: camp like this is a huge

[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_03]: opportunity for you to learn at

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_03]: the campfire and at the end down

[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_03]: at the classes so like I sell prepper

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_03]: camp to everybody like even if you're

[00:31:06] [SPEAKER_03]: not into preparedness if you're if

[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you're an if you're in overlanding if

[00:31:10] [SPEAKER_03]: you're into camping if you're in van

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_03]: life if you're into firearms if

[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_03]: you're into any of these different

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_03]: little communities you will find

[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_03]: something in prepper camp that

[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_03]: piques your interest if nothing else

[00:31:21] [SPEAKER_03]: it's an opportunity to meet some

[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_03]: really fun people who may or may

[00:31:26] [SPEAKER_03]: not have worked for the dod in the

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_03]: past and won't admit what branch

[00:31:29] [SPEAKER_00]: they worked in well there's

[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_00]: there are a huge variety of people

[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_00]: that you wouldn't expect there's

[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_00]: everybody from every walk of life

[00:31:39] [SPEAKER_00]: there I mean there really is

[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I love it there I don't there will

[00:31:45] [SPEAKER_00]: be never be a year I don't go to

[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_04]: so just to keep the show on tracks

[00:31:53] [SPEAKER_04]: a little bit that's what Andrew does

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_03]: he keeps us on track I don't

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_03]: there's always time to prepare not with

[00:32:00] [SPEAKER_00]: not with James myself and Phil

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_00]: it's kind of in trouble it's like hurting

[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_01]: my family's gone now so I can really

[00:32:07] [SPEAKER_01]: open up it's going to get ugly

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_04]: the beat button ready

[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_04]: so there's always time to prepare a

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: true preparedness is a journey over time

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_04]: and I just I want to start off by

[00:32:18] [SPEAKER_04]: saying I wholeheartedly believe this

[00:32:21] [SPEAKER_04]: comment yeah this is like this

[00:32:24] [SPEAKER_04]: touches my soul because the fact is

[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah when you start getting into it

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_04]: and I mean again Phil and I've had this

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_04]: conversation where

[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody looks at it and they're like

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_04]: eight years ago where do we start

[00:32:36] [SPEAKER_04]: where do I begin because they look at

[00:32:38] [SPEAKER_04]: it as a whole well there's a there's

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_04]: a saying that I read in a book that

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_04]: you know how to eat an elephant one

[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_04]: bite at a time

[00:32:48] [SPEAKER_04]: and it's so that and then I look at

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I take that preparedness is the

[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_04]: same exact thing the way you prepare

[00:32:55] [SPEAKER_04]: is you pick something you pick I mean

[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and you start off as hey I'm gonna

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_04]: prepare I need to start I need to

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_04]: start sorting food or start getting

[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_04]: food set up all right cool how much

[00:33:05] [SPEAKER_04]: would you have do you think you have

[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_04]: okay go through your food I have

[00:33:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know two days whatever well

[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_04]: okay start with a week or start even

[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_04]: with three days just just start

[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_04]: building up gradually get up get up

[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_04]: to a week okay now get up to two

[00:33:18] [SPEAKER_04]: weeks okay now get up to a month

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and now start putting enough food

[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_04]: back for two months and then you

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: start storing the food and you know

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_04]: buckets or mylar bags or whatever

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_04]: freeze dry it whatever you got to do

[00:33:28] [SPEAKER_04]: and now you're up to three four five

[00:33:30] [SPEAKER_04]: months of food storage okay now I want

[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_04]: to do water like you just you need to

[00:33:34] [SPEAKER_04]: pick it a little bit at a time and just

[00:33:36] [SPEAKER_04]: chip away at it you're never gonna

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_04]: unless you have a lot of freaking

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_04]: money

[00:33:40] [SPEAKER_04]: you're never going to be able to do

[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_04]: it all at once you need to chip away

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_04]: at it

[00:33:44] [SPEAKER_04]: and just pick a section and just go at

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I did that with guns and ammo I mean

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_04]: which seeing the other band at the

[00:33:50] [SPEAKER_04]: banner after this

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I did a lot of gun and ammo

[00:33:55] [SPEAKER_04]: preparedness

[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I was storing a lot of ammo and stuff

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and so now I'm looking at my okay

[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_04]: where am I lacking after that now

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_04]: that I got a house and a space of my

[00:34:03] [SPEAKER_04]: own and it's like okay now I'm

[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_04]: looking at food I'm also looking at

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: more water

[00:34:07] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm also looking you know just so

[00:34:09] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking at different areas to do

[00:34:10] [SPEAKER_04]: it and so it's like okay cool so it's

[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: like well the big thing is food I

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: want to get

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean I don't mind buying like the

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: store I go to has some pretty good

[00:34:18] [SPEAKER_04]: stakes but still

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean they get it gets expensive so in

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_04]: order to do that I'm going to buy bulk

[00:34:23] [SPEAKER_04]: so how do you get bulk well

[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm what I'm looking at buying a

[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_04]: quarter beef and a half a hog

[00:34:27] [SPEAKER_04]: so what do I got to do to store that

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I need a chest freezer okay step one

[00:34:31] [SPEAKER_04]: pie chest freezer

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_04]: so I did that okay step two now put

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: the order in for a quarter half a

[00:34:36] [SPEAKER_04]: half a hog and a quarter beef

[00:34:38] [SPEAKER_01]: so what's step three eat it

[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_01]: how do you power that chest freezer

[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_01]: when the power goes

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_01]: well maybe not in your neck of the

[00:34:46] [SPEAKER_01]: woods though but you might be

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_01]: alright

[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_01]: just let it go out of its winter

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_04]: time right yeah I know right

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_01]: you got one take it out

[00:34:52] [SPEAKER_03]: if it's cold outside take it outside

[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_03]: take it well that's what so really

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_04]: quick story my dad and I we went to the

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_04]: store and I think I spent 60 bucks

[00:35:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I bought like I think 16

[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_04]: New York strips I don't know how many

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_04]: pounds of breakfast sausage and stuff

[00:35:09] [SPEAKER_04]: like that like it was a good deal

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_04]: great deal on food did that we came

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_04]: back packaged everything up

[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_04]: individually

[00:35:14] [SPEAKER_04]: and then I didn't want to put it in

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_04]: like he didn't I didn't necessarily have

[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_04]: a lot of room in his freezer so I

[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_04]: didn't that and I would have forgot it

[00:35:21] [SPEAKER_04]: but I mean of course it's 30 degrees

[00:35:23] [SPEAKER_04]: outside

[00:35:24] [SPEAKER_04]: so I just went outside and put it in

[00:35:26] [SPEAKER_04]: the garage and on top of his truck

[00:35:27] [SPEAKER_04]: bed so the animals couldn't get to it

[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_04]: and uh

[00:35:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I sat there for two days

[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_04]: outside so you know it was uh it was

[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_03]: good

[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_03]: so yeah I do the same thing that

[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_03]: so the local the nearest country

[00:35:41] [SPEAKER_03]: gross store that once you get like

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_03]: outside of this very urban area I live

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_03]: in

[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_03]: they run meat sales every week

[00:35:46] [SPEAKER_03]: and I keep an eye on them and when they

[00:35:48] [SPEAKER_03]: run a sale for a whole boneless rib-eyes

[00:35:52] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a whole boneless rib-eye usually

[00:35:54] [SPEAKER_03]: for about five bucks a pound

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_03]: so the last time they ran that sale

[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I came home with 22 pounds

[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_03]: of uncut boneless rib-eye

[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and I sliced though that those two

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_03]: SOBs up into what was it 28 steaks

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_03]: and then plus like the end pieces

[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_03]: that I just used to make steak and

[00:36:13] [SPEAKER_03]: eggs or fajitas or whatever

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and it was freaking divine

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_03]: but they also occasionally run a

[00:36:19] [SPEAKER_03]: sale and ground beef where it's like

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_03]: 250 a pound

[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_03]: but you have to buy like 10 pound

[00:36:23] [SPEAKER_03]: 10 pound chunks

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_03]: so I last time they did that I came

[00:36:26] [SPEAKER_03]: home with three of them

[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_03]: and we bagged it up one pound each

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_03]: vacuum bagged it chucked in the

[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_03]: chest freezer

[00:36:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm still eating on that

[00:36:33] [SPEAKER_03]: and I don't remember

[00:36:35] [SPEAKER_03]: why did Kyle Wilson think

[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_03]: I hit the wrong button

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_04]: sorry Kyle

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: no I was trying to uh

[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I was trying something else and

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_04]: he made a joke about me trying to

[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_04]: find a wife

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_04]: and I was trying to do

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll try to do something else

[00:36:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and I accidentally

[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I read it wrong

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: you Kyle

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm sorry Kyle

[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_03]: Holly if you're still listening

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_03]: please apologize

[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_03]: please apologize to Kyle

[00:37:02] [SPEAKER_03]: on Andrew's behalf

[00:37:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I will flog him at prepper camp

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_04]: there's gotta be a way down pan them

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_03]: actually

[00:37:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_03]: he's they're gonna be at the

[00:37:11] [SPEAKER_03]: they're gonna be at the summer

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_03]: camping trip

[00:37:13] [SPEAKER_03]: so they can flog you themselves

[00:37:14] [SPEAKER_03]: there you go

[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_03]: oh come on there's gotta be a way

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_03]: down pan them

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I was trying to figure out a way

[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_00]: to be able to be there

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_03]: you're not going to be there this

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_03]: year

[00:37:21] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah

[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_00]: at the summer trip

[00:37:24] [SPEAKER_03]: the summer trip

[00:37:25] [SPEAKER_03]: oh I extended that invite

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_03]: to the pbn crew

[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_03]: but so far nobody's

[00:37:29] [SPEAKER_03]: taking us up on it

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_03]: but we do have a pretty good

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_03]: content

[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_04]: I keep forgetting about it

[00:37:32] [SPEAKER_04]: and I still need to do my

[00:37:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I having I forgot all about it

[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_04]: so I'm

[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm

[00:37:38] [SPEAKER_02]: and

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_02]: there's all

[00:37:41] the

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_03]: andrew I'm taking away your

[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_03]: band hammer

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: just

[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_03]: how right

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_03]: put it down

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and back ways slowly

[00:37:46] [SPEAKER_03]: but no

[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_03]: the thing I want to say about this

[00:37:49] [SPEAKER_03]: is like the two most toxic things

[00:37:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I hate to hear out of burgeoning

[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_03]: preppers or even people that are

[00:37:54] [SPEAKER_03]: curious about getting into

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness

[00:37:56] [SPEAKER_03]: is

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I will never be able to

[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_03]: accomplish that

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_03]: because they don't

[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_03]: they totally fall victim

[00:38:02] [SPEAKER_03]: to this idea

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_03]: that like they see the guy

[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_03]: that has like you know

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_03]: the ammo cans

[00:38:06] [SPEAKER_03]: lining the walls of his garage

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_03]: and all the guns

[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and all the all the MREs

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_03]: and all the stuff

[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_03]: and they just it gets into their

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_03]: head like

[00:38:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be able to

[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_03]: accomplish that

[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and to me that's like

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_03]: taking a 22 year old kid

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_03]: fresh out of college

[00:38:20] [SPEAKER_03]: he starts his job

[00:38:21] [SPEAKER_03]: and he looks at a person who's

[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_03]: 62 63 years old

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_03]: it's been working for 40 years

[00:38:26] [SPEAKER_03]: saving for 40 years

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_03]: and he's got a 401k

[00:38:28] [SPEAKER_03]: and everything all plumped up

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_03]: they're like

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_03]: well I'm never going to be

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_03]: able to accomplish that

[00:38:31] [SPEAKER_03]: and it's like well you will

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_03]: if you do it for 40 freaking

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_03]: years and you quit crying

[00:38:35] [SPEAKER_03]: about it

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_03]: like I just want people to

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_00]: understand you have to start from the beginning

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah you have to start

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_03]: well not just that

[00:38:40] [SPEAKER_03]: you have to start at the beginning

[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_03]: you have to go through the process

[00:38:43] [SPEAKER_03]: it's going to take time

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_03]: it's going to take effort

[00:38:45] [SPEAKER_03]: it's going to take time

[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_03]: you just have to commit to it and go

[00:38:49] [SPEAKER_03]: but the other thing that I

[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_03]: push back on people really hard is

[00:38:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it's too late to start

[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_03]: like people

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_03]: they look at the world around them

[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_03]: and they think that

[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_03]: this is going to unravel any day now

[00:39:00] [SPEAKER_03]: and I don't know if it will or not

[00:39:02] [SPEAKER_03]: my crystal ball is in the shop

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_03]: but hear me out

[00:39:04] [SPEAKER_03]: but they say

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_03]: well by the time I get prepared

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_03]: all hell is going to break loose

[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and it'll be it's too late to start

[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_03]: and I always point out to them

[00:39:12] [SPEAKER_03]: like if the world is going

[00:39:15] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah I kind of feel like

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I kind of I kind of feel like it's

[00:39:18] [SPEAKER_03]: self it's a self it's a

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_03]: it's self-defeating because

[00:39:21] [SPEAKER_03]: if you start today

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_03]: and let's let's say

[00:39:25] [SPEAKER_03]: the day that like we go to Mad Max

[00:39:27] [SPEAKER_03]: is 30 days from now

[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_03]: nobody knows

[00:39:30] [SPEAKER_03]: but let's say that's going to happen in 30 days

[00:39:32] [SPEAKER_03]: if you start prepping today

[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_03]: in 30 days you'll be better

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_03]: prepared than you were today

[00:39:37] [SPEAKER_03]: if it starts in 30 years

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_03]: you'll be a lot better prepared hopefully

[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_03]: but my point is that

[00:39:44] [SPEAKER_03]: the goal is not to get to a certain

[00:39:46] [SPEAKER_03]: endpoint and stop

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_03]: in your preparedness journey

[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_03]: the point is to go on that journey

[00:39:51] [SPEAKER_03]: and it will be a lifelong journey

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_03]: so if you start today

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_03]: whether you're 20 or 30 or 50

[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_03]: or 60 or 65

[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_03]: whether you're retiree

[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_03]: or you're just starting out

[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_03]: it doesn't matter

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_03]: the point is to be better prepared

[00:40:02] [SPEAKER_03]: than you were the day before

[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_03]: it is a journey

[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_03]: it is not

[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_03]: it is not like a goal

[00:40:09] [SPEAKER_03]: and once you get here

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_03]: you stop

[00:40:11] [SPEAKER_03]: none of us regard preparedness

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_03]: as once

[00:40:14] [SPEAKER_03]: once I finally have

[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_03]: 500 pounds of ground beef in the freezer

[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_03]: then I can stop

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't have to worry about

[00:40:19] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness anymore

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_03]: or once I get

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_03]: five 50 000 bullets stacked up

[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't need to prepare anymore

[00:40:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm prepared enough

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_03]: that's not how this works

[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_03]: so like I really

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I try to gently kick back at people

[00:40:32] [SPEAKER_03]: whenever they try to use those two excuses

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_03]: of it's too late to start

[00:40:36] [SPEAKER_03]: or it's going to take too long

[00:40:38] [SPEAKER_03]: the point is

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_03]: if you start

[00:40:40] [SPEAKER_03]: and you stick with it

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_03]: you'll be better prepared

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_03]: than if you don't

[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_03]: so

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_03]: when the day comes

[00:40:46] [SPEAKER_03]: that your your personal emergency comes up

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_03]: you have the option

[00:40:50] [SPEAKER_03]: right here and now

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_03]: to choose to be screwed over 10 times harder

[00:40:55] [SPEAKER_03]: or not screwed as hard

[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_01]: I think that Jordan

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_01]: is probably the best example of this

[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_01]: because

[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_01]: she is one of the only preppers that I know

[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_01]: that is dying to get back

[00:41:10] [SPEAKER_01]: to the lifestyle

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that she was accustomed to

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_01]: when she was

[00:41:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I'd call it more self-reliant

[00:41:16] [SPEAKER_01]: than where you are now

[00:41:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and that explains

[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_01]: kind of what we're talking about right now

[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_01]: which is there

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_01]: once you live that lifestyle

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_01]: there's no stopping

[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_01]: and there's definitely no going backwards

[00:41:29] [SPEAKER_01]: without like

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_01]: sheer anxiety

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean so

[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_01]: it's not a

[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_01]: it's definitely not an inventory to fill

[00:41:36] [SPEAKER_01]: or a bucket list to fill out

[00:41:38] [SPEAKER_01]: you get nestled into the self-reliant lifestyle

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_01]: and

[00:41:42] [SPEAKER_01]: you know then that can go as far as you want

[00:41:45] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah

[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I think the problem is

[00:41:48] [SPEAKER_00]: is Phil handled that much nicer

[00:41:50] [SPEAKER_00]: than I would have said it

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_00]: only

[00:41:52] [SPEAKER_00]: for real

[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_00]: only because

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_00]: like you said

[00:41:55] [SPEAKER_00]: I have had

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_00]: where

[00:41:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I was comfortable

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I had 400 acres to play on

[00:42:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I had an amazing size garden

[00:42:02] [SPEAKER_00]: I had 25 chickens

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_00]: oh yeah

[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I would

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: you know

[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_00]: I had everything

[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and then

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_00]: life decided

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_00]: you know

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_00]: nope

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_00]: no more

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_00]: okay

[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_00]: so start over

[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_00]: start climbing back up

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_00]: and it kills me

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_00]: because I have friends

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_00]: who

[00:42:17] [SPEAKER_00]: or people I care about

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_00]: who I'm like

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_00]: hey

[00:42:20] [SPEAKER_00]: what are you going to do in this situation

[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_00]: oh we're fucked

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_00]: sorry

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_00]: sorry

[00:42:25] [SPEAKER_00]: there's the beef

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_00]: where you need it

[00:42:26] [SPEAKER_00]: but um

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: we're all grown up

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and it kills me

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_00]: because it's

[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_00]: it feels like

[00:42:31] [SPEAKER_00]: as

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_00]: and Phil knows

[00:42:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I had my little rant

[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_00]: because I get frustrated

[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_00]: because

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't prep for them

[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't make them

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_00]: decide

[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_00]: that their family is worth more

[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_00]: than a

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_00]: a gym membership

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_00]: or whatever it is

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_00]: that they're prioritizing

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_00]: over putting a little bit of food up

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I think

[00:42:52] [SPEAKER_00]: they finally have stopped calling me

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_00]: to complain about how bad things are

[00:42:57] [SPEAKER_00]: because I've hit a point where

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I've basically said is

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_00]: give you the answer you want

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I understand you want to vent

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:43:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't sit there and listen

[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_00]: and listen to you

[00:43:10] [SPEAKER_00]: talk about how hard times are

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_00]: and how little you have

[00:43:14] [SPEAKER_00]: when you refuse to do anything

[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_00]: to fix the situation

[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's not because

[00:43:19] [SPEAKER_00]: I want to be a jerk

[00:43:20] [SPEAKER_00]: I love my friends

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_00]: but I

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I can't do anything for

[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_00]: if you are not

[00:43:27] [SPEAKER_00]: choosing to put your family

[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_00]: yourself

[00:43:30] [SPEAKER_00]: or your

[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_00]: your future moments

[00:43:33] [SPEAKER_00]: as a priority

[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_00]: then you're choosing to shoot yourself

[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_00]: in the foot

[00:43:38] [SPEAKER_00]: it's

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_00]: it's

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_00]: you are choosing to

[00:43:41] [SPEAKER_00]: this is going to be so bad

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_00]: I maybe I should say but

[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_00]: you're choosing to victimize yourself

[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_00]: if you don't want to be

[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_00]: that person who's saying

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_00]: help me

[00:43:52] [SPEAKER_00]: help me

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_00]: help me

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_00]: then get off your ass

[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_00]: and do something for yourself

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_00]: and your family

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think so

[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah

[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_02]: exactly

[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and

[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_00]: it kills me because it's like you

[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_00]: money is tight

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I get it

[00:44:05] [SPEAKER_00]: we're all hurting

[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_00]: I've gone to the food bank

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_00]: but you know

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah

[00:44:09] [SPEAKER_00]: not my proudest moment

[00:44:10] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's there for a reason

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_00]: yes they don't always give you

[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_00]: food that you like

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_00]: but if you're hungry enough

[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_00]: you're going to eat it

[00:44:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I grew up poor

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_00]: so I've learned

[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_00]: there are a lot of things

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_00]: there's

[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_00]: only a few things

[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I will not eat

[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_00]: out of choice

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_00]: if I am hungry

[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I will still eat the

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_00]: that's still on the table

[00:44:31] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:44:32] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_00]: you know what I mean though

[00:44:34] [SPEAKER_00]: is

[00:44:35] [SPEAKER_00]: is

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_00]: if you're hungry enough

[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_00]: you are going to eat

[00:44:38] [SPEAKER_00]: and seeing people take beans

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_00]: because they don't know

[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_00]: how to cook it

[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and they refuse to learn

[00:44:44] [SPEAKER_00]: and use it as table

[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_00]: activities for the kids

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like

[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_00]: that's an entire

[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_00]: several days meal in my house

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_00]: pinto beans and ham

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_00]: is a big meal

[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_00]: like okay

[00:44:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and lentil beans

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_00]: all right I get it

[00:44:58] [SPEAKER_00]: you use it in your heat and packs

[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_00]: you can

[00:45:01] [SPEAKER_00]: less variety

[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_00]: but pinto beans

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_00]: of all things to toss out

[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just like

[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_00]: curried lentils man

[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_00]: five pounds of lentil beans

[00:45:08] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean five pounds of pinto beans

[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_00]: and you wasted them

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_03]: the analogy

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_00]: not willing to ask

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_00]: how do you make it

[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_03]: the analogy I like to use with people is

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_03]: hypothetically

[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_03]: one day

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_03]: there's a mountain lion

[00:45:21] [SPEAKER_03]: that's going to jump out of a bush

[00:45:22] [SPEAKER_03]: and he's going to try to eat you

[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_03]: you have two options

[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_03]: to get ready for this day

[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_03]: you can either lace up your best running shoes

[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_03]: or shoot yourself in the foot

[00:45:30] [SPEAKER_03]: or which one would you rather do

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_03]: unfortunately

[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and Jordan like you and I talked about

[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_03]: this specific case

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_03]: but there's a lot of people out there

[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_03]: that are

[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_03]: whether they realize they're not

[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_03]: shooting themselves in the foot

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_03]: because they're spending their money on crap

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_03]: they don't need

[00:45:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and they're not prioritized

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness

[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_03]: but that's why I

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_03]: surreptitiously reordered

[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_03]: all these banners to bring this one up for

[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_03]: up next

[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_03]: because it kind of fits cleanly

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_03]: and right here

[00:45:55] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness is

[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_03]: prepping is a mindset

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness is multifaceted

[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_03]: learn your area of expertise well

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_03]: but know as many facets as you can

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_03]: so the problem

[00:46:04] [SPEAKER_03]: that the problem

[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_03]: you're facing with

[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_03]: these individuals in your lives is that

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness is not an activity

[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a mindset

[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's why

[00:46:13] [SPEAKER_03]: even though

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_03]: you're in a much different situation

[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_03]: than you were in a couple years ago

[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_03]: when

[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_03]: honestly like my heart was kind of palpitating

[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_03]: when I was thinking about

[00:46:21] [SPEAKER_03]: you know

[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_03]: 400 acres

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_03]: and a garden

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_03]: and everything else

[00:46:24] [SPEAKER_03]: being out in the middle of nowhere

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I miss it

[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I used to hunt and fish all the time

[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_03]: yes

[00:46:28] [SPEAKER_03]: that speaks to my soul

[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_03]: living in suburbia hell

[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_03]: or where I do

[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_03]: but my point is

[00:46:33] [SPEAKER_03]: you went from that environment

[00:46:36] God Almighty

[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_03]: you went from that environment

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_03]: to the one you're in now

[00:46:39] [SPEAKER_03]: but your mindset didn't change

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I still need to prepare

[00:46:43] [SPEAKER_03]: in the environment I'm in

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_03]: with the means that I have

[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_03]: no matter what

[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_03]: that's why I always say

[00:46:48] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness is not an activity

[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not a hobby

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not a

[00:46:51] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not a thing

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a mindset

[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_03]: and if you are in the preparedness mindset

[00:46:56] [SPEAKER_03]: you're going to

[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you're going to prep

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_03]: however you can

[00:47:00] [SPEAKER_03]: with whatever you have available to you

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_03]: because it's what you do

[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_03]: so

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember where

[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_03]: which person

[00:47:09] [SPEAKER_03]: dropped this on me

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_03]: but like it makes perfect sense

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_03]: you know

[00:47:13] [SPEAKER_03]: like that is preparedness

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_03]: it's the mindset

[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_03]: and preparedness is so multi-faceted

[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_03]: like when I first got into it

[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I came strictly from the

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_03]: perspective of like

[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_03]: post-hurricane Katrina New Orleans

[00:47:24] [SPEAKER_03]: that was what switched me on

[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_03]: so my big worries were

[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_03]: self defense

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_03]: home defense

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_03]: because you know

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if y'all are aware

[00:47:31] [SPEAKER_03]: but they were doing some hood rad

[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_03]: shit in the freaking city

[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and being able to have food and water

[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_03]: because that was kind of the situation

[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_03]: that was kind of in you know

[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_03]: high demand at the time

[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_03]: it was about turning your home

[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_03]: into a castle

[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_03]: to weather

[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_03]: for

[00:47:45] [SPEAKER_03]: three to four weeks

[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_03]: that was really what got me started

[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and then the longer I stayed in this

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_03]: mindset

[00:47:52] [SPEAKER_03]: and this community

[00:47:53] [SPEAKER_03]: the more I started thinking about

[00:47:54] [SPEAKER_03]: things like

[00:47:55] [SPEAKER_03]: medical gear

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I started thinking about

[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_03]: recently made the jump into GMRS

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_03]: starting to think about

[00:48:02] [SPEAKER_03]: alternative communications

[00:48:04] [SPEAKER_03]: when the cell phone networks go down

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_03]: like

[00:48:06] [SPEAKER_03]: the longer I've stayed in this

[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_03]: the more I've

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_03]: the more I've realized

[00:48:10] [SPEAKER_03]: how multi-dimensional preparedness is

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and it has

[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_03]: spidered me down

[00:48:15] [SPEAKER_03]: all these new tracks

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_03]: all these new things to learn about

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_03]: and not all of them

[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be really good at

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_03]: like

[00:48:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_03]: the ham radio nerd

[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be

[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_03]: the world's best

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_03]: at medical stuff

[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be the world's best

[00:48:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to be the world's best farmer

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_03]: I could kill

[00:48:34] [SPEAKER_03]: look I've tried three times

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_03]: to make a potato plot

[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_03]: and I've killed him every single time

[00:48:39] [SPEAKER_03]: my farmer ancestors

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_03]: are crying from the great beyond

[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_03]: because I cannot grow even potatoes

[00:48:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and all you have to do to grow potatoes

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_03]: is neglect them

[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_03]: like ignore them

[00:48:48] [SPEAKER_03]: I can grow

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_03]: but I can get potatoes to sprout

[00:48:51] [SPEAKER_03]: in my pantry if I'm

[00:48:52] [SPEAKER_03]: leaving them in their long enough

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_03]: but as soon as I put them in the dirt

[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_03]: outside they die

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_03]: it's probably a dirt

[00:48:57] [SPEAKER_00]: your best bet

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_00]: for potatoes

[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I found

[00:48:59] [SPEAKER_00]: for me

[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_00]: when I lived in Mississippi

[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_00]: was not putting them directly in the

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_00]: in the ground

[00:49:04] [SPEAKER_00]: but putting them in either

[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_00]: molasses buckets

[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_00]: or even those potato bags

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_00]: perfect every time

[00:49:10] [SPEAKER_00]: don't even try putting them in the ground

[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I tried that

[00:49:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I tried that

[00:49:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I effed that up too

[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_03]: listen

[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I am

[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I am as annoyed

[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_00]: you have a black thumb

[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_03]: I have a black thumb

[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I am really good at vacuum

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_03]: bagging

[00:49:24] [SPEAKER_03]: and storing food

[00:49:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not really good at growing it

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_03]: so here's what's going to happen

[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_03]: if you live

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_03]: in the vicinity of like

[00:49:31] [SPEAKER_03]: you know New Orleans, Louisiana

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_03]: and you're really good at farming

[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_03]: and you need somebody to do hood rat stuff

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_03]: to defend your crops

[00:49:36] [SPEAKER_03]: call me

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm there

[00:49:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I can make that happen

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_03]: but growing stuff is just not

[00:49:42] [SPEAKER_03]: in my bag

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_03]: and Joe Oliveira

[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_03]: I totally under

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_03]: I totally know where you're coming from

[00:49:47] [SPEAKER_03]: comms is sorcery

[00:49:49] [SPEAKER_03]: that's comment of the night

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: for sure

[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you guys give an award

[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_01]: but that's great

[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean that that is

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a ban

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean Andrew and I

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I swear to God

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_03]: we get

[00:49:59] [SPEAKER_03]: we get

[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_03]: we get a request for comms episode

[00:50:02] [SPEAKER_03]: at least once every other month

[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_03]: and the problem is always that like

[00:50:07] [SPEAKER_03]: you know Andrew and I like to bring people onto the show

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_03]: that are experts

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_03]: because we don't consider ourselves to be experts

[00:50:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's kind of where I am right now with comms

[00:50:15] [SPEAKER_03]: is I'm looking for somebody that really knows

[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_03]: him and gmrs

[00:50:19] [SPEAKER_03]: very well to come into the show

[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_03]: because

[00:50:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I know just enough gmrs

[00:50:25] [SPEAKER_03]: to sound like I halfway know what I'm talking about

[00:50:27] [SPEAKER_03]: and that's about it

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_01]: comms is reps man

[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what I've learned so far

[00:50:33] [SPEAKER_01]: it's just

[00:50:34] [SPEAKER_01]: you know like anything else

[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_01]: it's you gotta do

[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_01]: you gotta play with it

[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_01]: well

[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_01]: if you've got to play

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_01]: you know

[00:50:42] [SPEAKER_01]: you gotta learn it

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_01]: but I would

[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_01]: for the prepping mindset thing

[00:50:45] [SPEAKER_01]: I would add to it

[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_01]: if I were talking to my older self

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_01]: because when I got started prepping

[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_01]: if you would have said

[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_01]: prepping is a mindset

[00:50:53] [SPEAKER_01]: I would have said

[00:50:54] [SPEAKER_01]: well that's cool

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_01]: what is it

[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_01]: like what is the mindset

[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_01]: and I would say that

[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_01]: the prepping mindset for me took

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I'd tell myself dude

[00:51:04] [SPEAKER_01]: it's gonna take you five years

[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_01]: just to get out of sort of like

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_01]: free living chef pants

[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_01]: lifestyle

[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_01]: and guitar playing goofball into like

[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_01]: make sure the doors are locked

[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_01]: in the car

[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_01]: in the house

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and you know what I mean

[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_01]: that's sort of

[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_01]: very basic kind of stuff

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_01]: that you expect from somebody

[00:51:21] [SPEAKER_01]: who's supposed to be a prepper

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_01]: and uh

[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_01]: you know

[00:51:25] [SPEAKER_01]: even just turning that mindset on

[00:51:27] [SPEAKER_01]: takes years

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_01]: that's what I would have liked to told

[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_01]: tell myself back in the day

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_01]: and there's gonna be

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I would also

[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I would also

[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_01]: caution myself that until you get

[00:51:37] [SPEAKER_01]: even after you get that mindset

[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_01]: in in gear

[00:51:40] [SPEAKER_01]: people are always gonna look to you

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_01]: when something goes wrong

[00:51:43] [SPEAKER_01]: and be like

[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_01]: thought you had this handled

[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_01]: you're a prepper

[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_01]: that's one of my favorite things

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_01]: that happens to me

[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't have that

[00:51:51] [SPEAKER_01]: you're a prepper

[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_00]: you know I find myself kicking myself

[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_00]: in the butt

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_03]: do you know me

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_03]: people ask me about not having a

[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_03]: chainsaw when hurricane

[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I had to drop two trees on my house

[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah it's

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_01]: whatever it is that you don't have

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean that's how you get it

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but to be fair

[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_03]: we weren't starving to death

[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_03]: we had plenty of drinkable water

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_03]: like I had every other problem

[00:52:11] [SPEAKER_03]: dealt with pretty handily

[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_03]: except for the trees on the house

[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_03]: the big problem I had at that moment

[00:52:16] [SPEAKER_03]: so you know

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a good reason when you

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_01]: commit to that prepper moniker

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_01]: you suddenly become mythical

[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_01]: in the eyes of the normal person

[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_01]: right and it's like

[00:52:24] [SPEAKER_01]: dude

[00:52:25] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't have a jumbo jetliner

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_01]: out back

[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_01]: what kind of prepper are you

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_03]: I just

[00:52:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I do like to point out to people

[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_03]: that like the whole idea of

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness is two things

[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_03]: because you ask like what is

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_03]: what is prepping

[00:52:36] [SPEAKER_03]: it is acknowledging that there

[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_03]: there are threats

[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_03]: around you

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_03]: and then acknowledging that

[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_03]: you can do something against

[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_03]: to hedge yourself against those

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_03]: threats

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_03]: once

[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_03]: because there are people who see

[00:52:46] [SPEAKER_03]: threats but don't think they can

[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_03]: influence

[00:52:47] [SPEAKER_03]: the world around them

[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and one and they're not

[00:52:50] [SPEAKER_03]: preppers

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_03]: they're just hypochondriacs

[00:52:52] [SPEAKER_03]: and then you have people who

[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_03]: like have the blinders on

[00:52:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and they can't see the threats

[00:52:57] [SPEAKER_03]: no matter what

[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_03]: and they're not preppers either

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_03]: so you have to have those two

[00:53:01] [SPEAKER_03]: elements to be into preparedness

[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and again

[00:53:05] [SPEAKER_03]: in my defense

[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I had never had a

[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_03]: tree problem

[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_03]: so severe

[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_03]: until that moment

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_03]: that I needed a chance saw

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I would regularly take my axe

[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and pull bunion a tree down

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_03]: if it was bothering me

[00:53:19] [SPEAKER_03]: in the front yard

[00:53:20] [SPEAKER_03]: because you know

[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_03]: it was like a three, four inch

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_03]: trunk

[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_03]: and I just

[00:53:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm a big burly guy

[00:53:24] [SPEAKER_03]: so swinging an axe

[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_03]: isn't hurt my dagum feelings

[00:53:27] [SPEAKER_03]: but you know

[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_03]: when two oak trees hit the house

[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_03]: we were well outside of axe territory

[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_03]: but anyway

[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_02]: yeah

[00:53:38] [SPEAKER_03]: so I feel like we kind of

[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I somehow managed to put these

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_03]: in almost the perfect order

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_03]: but somebody asked

[00:53:44] [SPEAKER_03]: how do we make prepping

[00:53:45] [SPEAKER_03]: a part of our everyday life

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_03]: like that's what they wish they knew

[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_03]: because a lot of people

[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_03]: they they're stuck in this

[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_03]: mind frame of

[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_03]: I have everyday life stuff

[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_03]: and then prepper stuff

[00:53:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and they those two things

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_03]: are constantly competing for time

[00:53:59] [SPEAKER_03]: money resources energy

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_03]: all these things

[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_03]: and so it's a struggle

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_03]: but then some of us

[00:54:06] [SPEAKER_03]: managed to integrate preparedness

[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_03]: into our daily life

[00:54:09] [SPEAKER_03]: so well that it's like

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_03]: it's not that there's

[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_03]: normal food and prepper food

[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_03]: it's all food

[00:54:13] [SPEAKER_03]: so when I go to the grocery

[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_03]: store and I buy food

[00:54:16] [SPEAKER_03]: it doesn't matter if it's

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_03]: beans and rice for a bucket

[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_03]: or beans and rice for the pantry

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_03]: it's just food

[00:54:22] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm buying food

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_03]: I buy more than I need

[00:54:24] [SPEAKER_03]: and I put some away for later

[00:54:26] [SPEAKER_03]: ammo

[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not buying

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_03]: prepper ammo and then

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_03]: like normal hunting

[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_03]: or normal training ammo

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_03]: it's all ammo

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I just buy more than I need

[00:54:35] [SPEAKER_03]: and I put some away for later

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_03]: or in my case reloading components

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_03]: but like

[00:54:39] [SPEAKER_03]: it's this idea that once you

[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_03]: manage to make preparedness

[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_03]: more of a part of your daily life

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_03]: it stops being

[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_03]: it starts working a lot better

[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_03]: it stops being a

[00:54:49] [SPEAKER_03]: it stops being a drain on everything

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_03]: because it is everything

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_03]: it's part of everything

[00:54:55] [SPEAKER_03]: half the stuff on those shelves

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_03]: back there is camping gear

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_03]: take a wild guess

[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_03]: what half it also gets used for

[00:55:01] [SPEAKER_03]: every time we have a power outage

[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_03]: every time we have a hurricane

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_03]: every time we have some stuff go down

[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_03]: like those cots are extra places

[00:55:09] [SPEAKER_03]: for us to sleep

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_03]: the

[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_03]: the jackery's back there

[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_03]: is a back of power source

[00:55:14] [SPEAKER_03]: the icecoze over there

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_03]: is an auxiliary refrigerator

[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean all this stuff that's for

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_03]: camping

[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_03]: it's come in handy a time or two

[00:55:22] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's not prepper stuff

[00:55:24] [SPEAKER_03]: it's just everything's preparedness

[00:55:26] [SPEAKER_03]: therefore everything fits both needs

[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I think the answer to this one is

[00:55:32] [SPEAKER_01]: make commitments

[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_01]: like commit to things that are a pain

[00:55:37] [SPEAKER_01]: if you don't do

[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_01]: you know like the moment you get in deep

[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and gardening

[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_01]: the moment you have something out back

[00:55:43] [SPEAKER_01]: that you have to feed all the time

[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_01]: or keep alive

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_01]: you know like

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_01]: when we got once like

[00:55:49] [SPEAKER_01]: if you have chickens

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_01]: your lifestyle is now built into that

[00:55:53] [SPEAKER_01]: because you can't be like

[00:55:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm gonna take chickens off for a week

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean

[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_01]: you won't have them

[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_01]: commit to solar

[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_01]: commit to

[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_01]: you know

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_01]: get gaining a certain amount of water

[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_01]: from rain catchment

[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_01]: not like

[00:56:05] [SPEAKER_01]: fill rain barrels up and look at them

[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_01]: but like we're gonna wash dishes

[00:56:08] [SPEAKER_01]: with the rainwater

[00:56:10] [SPEAKER_01]: from now on

[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean

[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_01]: and and building those commitments

[00:56:13] [SPEAKER_01]: into your life

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_01]: and building routine

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_01]: into your life

[00:56:17] [SPEAKER_01]: I think is really the

[00:56:19] [SPEAKER_01]: that's the crux

[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_01]: you've got to be in a position

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_01]: where you can't

[00:56:22] [SPEAKER_01]: turn it off

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_01]: because

[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_01]: things are depending on you know

[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I agree with that

[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and I think

[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_00]: this is gonna go back to something

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_00]: maybe even a little off on topic

[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_00]: but so

[00:56:35] [SPEAKER_00]: a lot of people just don't know where to start

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_00]: just to make it a part of the routine

[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_00]: and it's you know

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_00]: doing things you don't want to

[00:56:42] [SPEAKER_00]: is motivating yourself right

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_00]: half the time

[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_00]: you can't find the motivation

[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you're like

[00:56:48] [SPEAKER_00]: you know I can do it tomorrow

[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_00]: you know what

[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_00]: this this can wait

[00:56:51] [SPEAKER_00]: you know I'm

[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_00]: kind of like with my lines

[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_00]: that I was supposed to do for Sarah's

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_00]: things happen

[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_00]: and there's like

[00:56:57] [SPEAKER_00]: ah I can hold off

[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_00]: I can hold

[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_00]: no you just got to do it

[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't know anything about that

[00:57:00] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah

[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah of course you wouldn't

[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_00]: that's kind of why I said it

[00:57:04] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[00:57:06] [SPEAKER_00]: for me

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_00]: like even in my hardest times

[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_00]: through everything

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_00]: when I thought

[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_00]: there was nothing

[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_00]: when there was no point

[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_00]: to get up to keep prepping

[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_00]: when there was no

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_00]: you know whatever it was

[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I count to 10

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and I did this for two weeks

[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_00]: and I forgot who I heard this from

[00:57:23] [SPEAKER_00]: and I was a woman who said to do it

[00:57:25] [SPEAKER_00]: and she goes on those mornings

[00:57:27] [SPEAKER_00]: where you feel like you don't want to get up

[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_00]: and you don't want to go do something

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_00]: count to 10

[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_00]: and at the end of 10

[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_00]: regardless of how you feel

[00:57:34] [SPEAKER_00]: you get up and you do it

[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_00]: do the same thing with your preps

[00:57:38] [SPEAKER_00]: you know if it's not something

[00:57:39] [SPEAKER_00]: you really want to do

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_00]: count to 10

[00:57:41] [SPEAKER_00]: and then just do it

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_00]: because the only thing holding you back

[00:57:44] [SPEAKER_00]: is yourself

[00:57:46] [SPEAKER_00]: and on the extreme preps

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_00]: may be money

[00:57:48] [SPEAKER_00]: but you know you'll get there

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's it's count to 10

[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_00]: and then do it

[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_00]: if you don't know where to start

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_00]: you know what count it in

[00:57:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and then just just try

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_00]: look something up just try

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_00]: because I think that's our biggest issue is

[00:58:03] [SPEAKER_00]: you know people who don't know

[00:58:05] [SPEAKER_00]: where to start

[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_00]: on making it your everyday life

[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_00]: guess what like Phil said

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it becomes just a part of habit

[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_00]: but there are times even for us

[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_00]: we're not sure where to

[00:58:14] [SPEAKER_00]: where to start you know with

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_00]: with Phil

[00:58:16] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure you ran into the same thing

[00:58:18] [SPEAKER_00]: with the comms

[00:58:20] [SPEAKER_00]: and everything else

[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_00]: but we've all had those moments

[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_00]: even as seasoned preppers

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_00]: we have moments where

[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_00]: we're not sure where to start

[00:58:28] [SPEAKER_00]: or we're not sure how to keep going

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_00]: we just keep pushing ourselves

[00:58:32] [SPEAKER_00]: because you have to make prepping

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_00]: it's not only a mindset

[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_00]: but you have to push it into a habit

[00:58:39] [SPEAKER_00]: you know you can form a habit

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_00]: within doing something

[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_00]: was it every day for two weeks

[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_00]: no that's breaking a habit

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_00]: it takes two weeks

[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_00]: but it doesn't it takes three days

[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_00]: to form a habit

[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_00]: or something like that

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_00]: but it's the whole point

[00:58:52] [SPEAKER_00]: of pushing yourself to keep doing it

[00:58:53] [SPEAKER_00]: think about how you can extend your meals

[00:58:56] [SPEAKER_00]: think about how you can

[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_00]: buy your food

[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_00]: plan out your meals for the month

[00:59:02] [SPEAKER_00]: make sure you have first aid in the house

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_00]: you wouldn't go without first aid

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_00]: to begin with

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_00]: even if you just have children

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: in their house

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_00]: even if you don't

[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean look at Andrew

[00:59:12] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure he needs it

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_00]: first aid all the time

[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_00]: who knows

[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's good to have

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_01]: to get in the game

[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's good to do things

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_01]: push yourself

[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah to put things in place

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_01]: that are going to cost you money

[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_01]: fundamentally if you screw up

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_01]: or if you decide that

[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_01]: this is something you're going to walk back on

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_01]: and that

[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_01]: like you guys are talking about

[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_01]: getting pigs and cows and stuff

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_01]: which is great

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_00]: there's always going to be an accident

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_00]: somewhere

[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_00]: oh yeah

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_00]: someone's going to

[00:59:37] [SPEAKER_00]: I mean you know how many times I've gone

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_00]: sewing

[00:59:40] [SPEAKER_00]: or I'm hand sewing through

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_00]: some thicker material

[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and the other day

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_00]: I shoved a sewing needle

[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_00]: up my thumb on accident

[00:59:47] [SPEAKER_00]: slipped and

[00:59:49] [SPEAKER_00]: straight into my thumb

[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_00]: and that was fun

[00:59:51] [SPEAKER_00]: that was one of those

[00:59:53] [SPEAKER_01]: what are you Vietnamese

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_00]: I will show you the progress

[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_00]: after the show on what I was making

[01:00:01] [SPEAKER_00]: that hurt

[01:00:02] [SPEAKER_01]: is it blood stain now

[01:00:04] [SPEAKER_00]: no

[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_00]: blood stain for this count

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_00]: not that one

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm just kidding

[01:00:08] [SPEAKER_01]: no I think commitments are important man

[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_01]: and like I said

[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_01]: having some skin in the game

[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_01]: on things

[01:00:13] [SPEAKER_01]: rather than just saying

[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: I want to be a prepper

[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and what my plan is

[01:00:17] [SPEAKER_01]: is to do x y and z

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_01]: and and

[01:00:19] [SPEAKER_01]: you know I'll get around to it

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: eventually

[01:00:21] [SPEAKER_01]: like once you don't have the option of

[01:00:23] [SPEAKER_01]: getting around to it eventually

[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_01]: and you have to get around to it every morning

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: every evening

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean

[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_01]: then it's just

[01:00:30] [SPEAKER_01]: you know it's really hard

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: you're you know

[01:00:31] [SPEAKER_01]: you're either going to sink or swim

[01:00:33] [SPEAKER_01]: that you know it's lifestyle

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_01]: then because it's

[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_01]: part of your daily life

[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_01]: the other thing I try to tell people is

[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like if you

[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: there we all acknowledge

[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: there are certain hobbies

[01:00:40] [SPEAKER_03]: that are kind of prepping adjacent

[01:00:43] [SPEAKER_03]: and if you can find an interest

[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_03]: in those things

[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_03]: it will definitely help

[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_03]: like camping

[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_03]: hiking

[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_03]: firearms

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_03]: overlanding

[01:00:53] [SPEAKER_03]: wheeling

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_03]: jeeping

[01:00:54] [SPEAKER_03]: like there's so many different things out there

[01:00:56] [SPEAKER_03]: that there's some element of that hobby

[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_03]: that kind of fits really cleanly

[01:01:01] [SPEAKER_03]: like in my case

[01:01:02] [SPEAKER_03]: that this family loves to go camping

[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: and if it weren't for how

[01:01:05] [SPEAKER_03]: brutally, disgustingly

[01:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: hot it gets down here on the Gulf Coast

[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_03]: in certain months

[01:01:09] [SPEAKER_03]: we would camp much more

[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_03]: but like spring

[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_03]: and late fall is perfect for us

[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_03]: but anyway

[01:01:15] [SPEAKER_03]: so like

[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_03]: you know a lot of the

[01:01:18] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness stuff we have

[01:01:20] [SPEAKER_03]: it's specifically for camping

[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_03]: a lot of the modifications I've made to my truck

[01:01:24] [SPEAKER_03]: that you could argue would make it

[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_03]: semi-useful as a bug out vehicle

[01:01:29] [SPEAKER_03]: they were originally made

[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_03]: for camping

[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_03]: so

[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I always tell people like

[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_03]: if you can find those hobbies

[01:01:36] [SPEAKER_03]: that kind of backfeed

[01:01:38] [SPEAKER_03]: into preparedness

[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_03]: it definitely helps

[01:01:42] [SPEAKER_03]: with making this a regular part of your life

[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean this is where my daughter

[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_03]: she's learned to use a pocket knife

[01:01:47] [SPEAKER_03]: she's learned to use a ferro rod

[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_03]: she's learned how to use FRS radios

[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'm sure she'll be learned how to use

[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_03]: GMRs radios in the near future

[01:01:53] [SPEAKER_03]: like this is where she's learned

[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_03]: a lot of those skills

[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_03]: is because we love to go camping

[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_03]: and when you go camping

[01:02:00] [SPEAKER_03]: some of this stuff just kind of comes up

[01:02:03] [SPEAKER_03]: so

[01:02:04] [SPEAKER_03]: you know like

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not

[01:02:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm never going to go out

[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: as far as say like

[01:02:07] [SPEAKER_03]: camping is like

[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness practice

[01:02:10] [SPEAKER_03]: because let's call what it is

[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_03]: you're in a much more controlled environment

[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_03]: you were ready

[01:02:14] [SPEAKER_03]: you were ready to live

[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_03]: like a homeless person

[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_03]: to have all the support equipment

[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_03]: but it's still an opportunity to learn

[01:02:20] [SPEAKER_03]: and practice skills that you otherwise

[01:02:23] [SPEAKER_03]: probably wouldn't

[01:02:24] [SPEAKER_03]: I see in the private chat

[01:02:26] [SPEAKER_03]: we are getting a special guest

[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm guessing it's a little bit

[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: oh there's my little cigar buddy

[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_01]: oh man he's getting big

[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_01]: you're walking around prepper camp this year buddy

[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_00]: he's already cron

[01:02:42] [SPEAKER_00]: and he's six months

[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_01]: oh he's definitely running around

[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: prepper camp

[01:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: we gotta keep you away from that lake

[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I want to swim

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_01]: mom

[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_03]: just just put floaties on them and let them rip

[01:02:51] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a good idea

[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah

[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: so the last one

[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_03]: which is going to bring it here to Andrew's eye

[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_03]: there's more to prepping than guns and ammo

[01:03:00] [SPEAKER_03]: blast of me

[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I know I know

[01:03:03] [SPEAKER_03]: sorcery

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: sorcery

[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_03]: but

[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but to be fair like

[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_04]: well this is like it's a ban

[01:03:08] [SPEAKER_04]: oh wait that was Kyle

[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_03]: no that that wasn't Kyle

[01:03:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I think that is

[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_04]: no Kyle did message me that though

[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_04]: he's like there's more to prepping

[01:03:15] [SPEAKER_04]: than ammo

[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_03]: oh that's why you banned him

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah

[01:03:19] [SPEAKER_04]: oh never mind

[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Kyle you might have brought this on yourself

[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_00]: you already had it out for him

[01:03:23] [SPEAKER_04]: it was

[01:03:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I know I just had to find a reason

[01:03:25] [SPEAKER_04]: and he insulted me by saying

[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I need to find a wife

[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_04]: dang it I'm single forever

[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_03]: but like I was saying

[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_03]: like I feel like you know firearms

[01:03:34] [SPEAKER_03]: is definitely something that brings

[01:03:35] [SPEAKER_03]: a lot of people into preparedness

[01:03:37] [SPEAKER_03]: either accidentally or on purpose

[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_03]: but yeah I do feel like there's a lot

[01:03:42] [SPEAKER_03]: there's a lot of people they get

[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_03]: that are into preparedness

[01:03:44] [SPEAKER_03]: that this is where they start and stop

[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and they don't get into food

[01:03:48] [SPEAKER_03]: they don't get into medical equipment

[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_03]: they don't get into everything out

[01:03:51] [SPEAKER_03]: they don't get into any of the other

[01:03:52] [SPEAKER_03]: disciplines that are in preparedness

[01:03:54] [SPEAKER_03]: this is where they start and stop

[01:03:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and this is like where the

[01:04:00] [SPEAKER_03]: this is

[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_03]: there isn't even more to life than guns and ammo

[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: God amen

[01:04:07] [SPEAKER_03]: I want to

[01:04:08] [SPEAKER_03]: you and I can be friends

[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_03]: I just have to say

[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Rugeru arms

[01:04:11] [SPEAKER_03]: for those of you who are not from

[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Louisiana and don't get the reference

[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_03]: the Rugeru is a local legend

[01:04:18] [SPEAKER_03]: that if little Cajun boys and girls

[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: misbehaved or if they were up out of bed

[01:04:24] [SPEAKER_03]: after hours when the fatal dose

[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: happening it was supposed to be adults only

[01:04:28] [SPEAKER_03]: the Rugeru was going to come and get them

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: oh sleep

[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: and the Rugeru

[01:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I gotta look up the Rugeru now

[01:04:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I've heard different counts

[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_03]: most of them closely resemble a werewolf basically

[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_04]: so it's almost up there with

[01:04:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Krampus on Christmas

[01:04:42] [SPEAKER_04]: oh he's asleep though

[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_03]: kind of

[01:04:44] [SPEAKER_04]: and I told my nieces when they were really little

[01:04:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I told my nieces about Krampus

[01:04:48] [SPEAKER_04]: and I said that he's gonna come murder you

[01:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: if you're not good

[01:04:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and my mom was like

[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_03]: don't you tell him that stuff

[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Kyle's back on YouTube somehow

[01:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know if you unbanned him

[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: he doesn't want to admit that he unbanned him

[01:04:59] [SPEAKER_00]: I didn't unbanned him

[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't figure out how to unbanned him

[01:05:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I've been trying

[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_04]: this is I've been literally on the internet

[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_04]: now trying to figure out how to unbanned him

[01:05:07] [SPEAKER_04]: this entire time

[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_00]: you have to go into the YouTube

[01:05:09] [SPEAKER_00]: sentence for the primary account

[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_00]: that's on this

[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: oh that's mine

[01:05:13] [SPEAKER_03]: oh we can't put images in here

[01:05:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll do that as soon as this is over

[01:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: here let me try it

[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_04]: let me ban him and we'll try it

[01:05:20] [SPEAKER_00]: so I agree with Garth

[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_00]: ban him again dad gummachah

[01:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: my kids can't eat gun and ammo

[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_00]: at least I know I can feed them

[01:05:27] [SPEAKER_00]: I can protect them

[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_00]: but I can definitely feed them

[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_00]: so thank god for being southern

[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_01]: right

[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah I mean if you if you go back to prepping

[01:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: as a lifestyle

[01:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: me personally like

[01:05:39] [SPEAKER_01]: the only

[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_01]: gun I could say that I touch daily

[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_01]: is the EDC gun

[01:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: the only gun that I say fire

[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: I fire daily is none

[01:05:49] [SPEAKER_01]: so you know from my perspective man

[01:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: it's it's something I do

[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: it's close to the bottom of things

[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: that are really a priority for me

[01:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: we're from a preparedness standpoint

[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean like

[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_01]: I understand if you don't have a gun

[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_01]: you don't have any ammo

[01:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: then it might be a different priority level

[01:06:06] [SPEAKER_01]: but once you get rocking and rolling

[01:06:08] [SPEAKER_01]: and if you're talking about prepping

[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_01]: as a lifestyle and stuff

[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like

[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: you know I don't see myself

[01:06:14] [SPEAKER_01]: using them very often my dog's crying

[01:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: though so I'm gonna step away for a second

[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah no it's um no I mean this is

[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of like going back to what I was

[01:06:23] [SPEAKER_04]: saying before

[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: was uh I in college and apartment

[01:06:29] [SPEAKER_04]: living and stuff like that

[01:06:30] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean I didn't have a lot of room

[01:06:32] [SPEAKER_04]: and so I did

[01:06:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I did my prepping I mean I guess

[01:06:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I could have instead of buying guns

[01:06:37] [SPEAKER_04]: and ammo I could have stored food and stuff

[01:06:39] [SPEAKER_03]: that's quitter talk

[01:06:40] [SPEAKER_04]: right uh no if I

[01:06:43] [SPEAKER_04]: I had no no regrets on that at all

[01:06:46] [SPEAKER_04]: so

[01:06:48] [SPEAKER_04]: no I so it's one of those things

[01:06:50] [SPEAKER_04]: where now I got room so it's

[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm looking at okay what do I need to

[01:06:53] [SPEAKER_04]: expand on but no I

[01:06:55] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know I mean guns and ammo

[01:06:57] [SPEAKER_04]: it's honestly my whole part of

[01:06:59] [SPEAKER_04]: thinking was

[01:07:01] [SPEAKER_04]: my whole my whole part of thinking

[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_04]: was bugging out

[01:07:03] [SPEAKER_04]: was my it was a it was

[01:07:05] [SPEAKER_04]: my whole uh

[01:07:07] [SPEAKER_04]: philosophy I mean everything

[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_04]: revolved around bugging out

[01:07:10] [SPEAKER_04]: so I kept very minimal I kept

[01:07:13] [SPEAKER_04]: I didn't store a lot of food or water at

[01:07:15] [SPEAKER_04]: my place enough to you know yeah get

[01:07:17] [SPEAKER_04]: through a storm I had enough for you

[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_04]: a couple weeks and stuff like that

[01:07:20] [SPEAKER_04]: but my whole thing was I'm bugging

[01:07:22] [SPEAKER_04]: out so there is no need to

[01:07:25] [SPEAKER_04]: store a crap ton of food

[01:07:26] [SPEAKER_04]: when I'm bugging out and

[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I'll probably just start taking other

[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_04]: people's stuff

[01:07:31] [SPEAKER_04]: so you know it's just one of those

[01:07:33] [SPEAKER_04]: things that is just

[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_04]: this is my mindset but now I have a house

[01:07:36] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm trying to change that mindset

[01:07:38] [SPEAKER_04]: toward now it's like okay I'm more apt to

[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_04]: bug in for a I'll consider bugging in

[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_04]: for a little bit longer of a time until

[01:07:45] [SPEAKER_04]: the prison that's down the road for

[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_04]: me lets out

[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_04]: but uh

[01:07:49] [SPEAKER_04]: you know and it's like okay take that

[01:07:51] [SPEAKER_04]: and now I need to store more food and

[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_04]: more water and you know and everything

[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_04]: like that so

[01:07:55] [SPEAKER_03]: wait is it a women's prison

[01:07:58] [SPEAKER_04]: uh I don't know it's a super max I

[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_03]: think oh never mind I was about to

[01:08:01] [SPEAKER_03]: say we might have solved your

[01:08:02] [SPEAKER_03]: lack of a wife problem

[01:08:04] [SPEAKER_03]: no I think it is

[01:08:05] [SPEAKER_03]: well actually

[01:08:06] [SPEAKER_00]: you may have still figured out the lack

[01:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: of a wife problem

[01:08:10] [SPEAKER_00]: even if it wasn't

[01:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: dude I'd start writing letters why not

[01:08:14] [SPEAKER_04]: actually funny story is uh

[01:08:16] [SPEAKER_04]: I think there's a website that you can

[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_04]: pen pal and oh you can actually write

[01:08:20] [SPEAKER_04]: right later than me

[01:08:21] [SPEAKER_03]: funny your story

[01:08:22] [SPEAKER_03]: for those of you who've seen the road

[01:08:25] [SPEAKER_03]: warrior uh this the

[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: it's the sequel to mad max

[01:08:28] [SPEAKER_03]: it's probably the first one

[01:08:30] [SPEAKER_03]: most people here in the U.S. saw

[01:08:31] [SPEAKER_03]: um the whole biker gang those were all men

[01:08:36] [SPEAKER_03]: even the really girly looking ones

[01:08:38] [SPEAKER_03]: there's backstory there that I don't want

[01:08:41] [SPEAKER_03]: to talk about on this podcast but if you

[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_03]: google it

[01:08:43] [SPEAKER_03]: it will make your skin crawl

[01:08:45] [SPEAKER_03]: just put put that away in the back of

[01:08:47] [SPEAKER_03]: your noggin for later

[01:08:48] [SPEAKER_03]: she's better in the way for me

[01:08:50] [SPEAKER_03]: what was that Andrew

[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_03]: better in the way for me

[01:08:54] [SPEAKER_03]: uh no it's not how you didn't figure

[01:08:57] [SPEAKER_00]: that out right away

[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_03]: well the exposed nipples and the flat

[01:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: chest on the on the the the

[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_03]: the you're going down a rabbit hole we

[01:09:04] [SPEAKER_00]: don't know I already I already know

[01:09:09] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah the whole next oh no there's more

[01:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: backstory because I I I'm a weird person

[01:09:15] [SPEAKER_03]: and I see a rabbit hole and I just go

[01:09:17] [SPEAKER_03]: face first into it so

[01:09:19] [SPEAKER_03]: me and google are freaking dangerous

[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: so I will come back out with knowing

[01:09:23] [SPEAKER_03]: stuff that I will make me sign off

[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_03]: the internet for a day

[01:09:26] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah no it's uh yeah guns and ammo

[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean you should have it but it's not

[01:09:32] [SPEAKER_04]: the only thing

[01:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: it's you know where Kyle works right

[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I know where he knows some leafies

[01:09:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure he does

[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_03]: all right so Andrew Jordan and James

[01:09:50] [SPEAKER_03]: like if you're

[01:09:53] [SPEAKER_03]: if the thing you didn't know when you

[01:09:55] [SPEAKER_03]: first started

[01:09:56] [SPEAKER_03]: if that wasn't brought up what was it

[01:10:00] [SPEAKER_03]: or did have we kind of covered what

[01:10:02] [SPEAKER_03]: y'all would throw into the pot I

[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_03]: covered quite a bit I uh I definitely

[01:10:05] [SPEAKER_01]: would have liked to have told myself

[01:10:07] [SPEAKER_01]: that you're gonna be living a lifestyle

[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_01]: that a lot of people are gonna wish

[01:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: they were living

[01:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean like there's

[01:10:16] [SPEAKER_01]: deep fulfillment in prepping

[01:10:19] [SPEAKER_01]: the prepping thing is when I got

[01:10:21] [SPEAKER_01]: started was holy shit the whole

[01:10:23] [SPEAKER_01]: world is ending the government's

[01:10:25] [SPEAKER_01]: corrupt everything's ruined

[01:10:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and I'm a father and a husband and

[01:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: totally unprepared and I gotta change

[01:10:31] [SPEAKER_01]: that so it was like a mad you know

[01:10:34] [SPEAKER_01]: anxious scramble to start clawing

[01:10:37] [SPEAKER_01]: resources closer and I would have

[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_01]: liked to have been there and said you

[01:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: know what dude like it's gonna take

[01:10:42] [SPEAKER_01]: time but once you get over the hump

[01:10:45] [SPEAKER_01]: you're gonna be doing the things that

[01:10:48] [SPEAKER_01]: first of all your ancestors have always

[01:10:50] [SPEAKER_01]: been doing and you're gonna feel

[01:10:51] [SPEAKER_01]: that connection and then on top of

[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_01]: that you know you're gonna be

[01:10:55] [SPEAKER_01]: living a very fulfilling lifestyle

[01:10:56] [SPEAKER_01]: because of the self-sufficiency aspect

[01:10:59] [SPEAKER_01]: of the things that you do

[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_01]: day in and day out and that would have

[01:11:02] [SPEAKER_01]: been way cooler than being like

[01:11:04] [SPEAKER_01]: oh shit you know what I mean for like

[01:11:06] [SPEAKER_01]: a couple years

[01:11:08] [SPEAKER_01]: what about you Jordan anything

[01:11:10] [SPEAKER_00]: no I don't know I mean I grew up

[01:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: poor and happened to be you know very

[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: self-reliance and just teaching myself

[01:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't I don't know if there's much

[01:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I think if anything starting

[01:11:23] [SPEAKER_00]: younger on learning to

[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: manage money which you know I grew up

[01:11:28] [SPEAKER_00]: poor I managed the best I could have

[01:11:30] [SPEAKER_00]: made money at an early age to sell on my

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_00]: crochet I

[01:11:33] [SPEAKER_00]: I think I would have told you know if I

[01:11:36] [SPEAKER_00]: had known better that how hard

[01:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: things would have yeah things would

[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_00]: have gotten then I would have tried to

[01:11:43] [SPEAKER_00]: have set myself a little bit more

[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: financially on this as you know a

[01:11:47] [SPEAKER_00]: backup but other than that I mean I

[01:11:50] [SPEAKER_00]: think we covered basically everything

[01:11:51] [SPEAKER_00]: on learning to can and cook from

[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: scratch sooner I mean I've cooked from

[01:11:56] [SPEAKER_00]: scratch for a while but just perfect

[01:11:58] [SPEAKER_00]: in those skill sets would would have

[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_00]: been probably a big thing is

[01:12:02] [SPEAKER_00]: because I've encountered people not

[01:12:04] [SPEAKER_00]: like in the way I live I've

[01:12:06] [SPEAKER_00]: encountered that all my life and I've

[01:12:08] [SPEAKER_00]: just never really cared it's not going

[01:12:10] [SPEAKER_00]: to stop me from doing what I've needed

[01:12:11] [SPEAKER_03]: to well and I was going to say like

[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_03]: bear in mind that Andrew and I at

[01:12:15] [SPEAKER_03]: least once a year do a financial

[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: preparedness show which makes some

[01:12:19] [SPEAKER_03]: people's eyes cross but like

[01:12:21] [SPEAKER_03]: knowing how to manage money and how to

[01:12:23] [SPEAKER_03]: budget I mean that's as part of it

[01:12:26] [SPEAKER_03]: it's a big deal yeah and you know what

[01:12:28] [SPEAKER_03]: they damn sure don't teach it in

[01:12:29] [SPEAKER_03]: schools and I'm sorry to say to the

[01:12:32] [SPEAKER_03]: to the boomers and the oldest of the

[01:12:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Gen Xers but a lot of y'all based on

[01:12:36] [SPEAKER_03]: what I'm seeing around me a lot of y'all

[01:12:38] [SPEAKER_03]: frickin failed to teach your kids how

[01:12:40] [SPEAKER_03]: to do it too thank God my father did

[01:12:43] [SPEAKER_03]: but most most of y'all boomers

[01:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: screw that pooch you know what

[01:12:48] [SPEAKER_01]: another good one would be especially

[01:12:49] [SPEAKER_01]: for people who are coming up I when I

[01:12:52] [SPEAKER_01]: got into prepping I had already

[01:12:53] [SPEAKER_01]: been a homeowner so I didn't have the

[01:12:55] [SPEAKER_01]: chance to take advantage of this but

[01:12:57] [SPEAKER_01]: it's the biggest investment most likely

[01:13:00] [SPEAKER_01]: that you make and you should

[01:13:01] [SPEAKER_01]: you know look at it as a prepper

[01:13:05] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean all that weird

[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_01]: prep or stuff like water

[01:13:09] [SPEAKER_01]: defensive ability all that kind of

[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_01]: stuff I think is something that

[01:13:14] [SPEAKER_01]: people could be like 350 thousand

[01:13:16] [SPEAKER_01]: dollars in the hole and be like

[01:13:18] [SPEAKER_01]: damn I didn't think of any of that

[01:13:19] [SPEAKER_01]: stuff you know Sun like this is a

[01:13:21] [SPEAKER_01]: backyard get any Sun at all

[01:13:23] [SPEAKER_01]: that kind of basic stuff that'd be

[01:13:26] [SPEAKER_01]: that'd be good to know ahead of the

[01:13:27] [SPEAKER_03]: game what about you Andrew you're

[01:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: still trying to figure out how to

[01:13:31] [SPEAKER_03]: unban Kyle or do you have anything

[01:13:32] [SPEAKER_03]: dropping up

[01:13:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm not gonna ban him on my other

[01:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: myslefs go all

[01:13:39] [SPEAKER_04]: no it's just yeah it's just how much

[01:13:42] [SPEAKER_04]: of a journey

[01:13:45] [SPEAKER_04]: it was like I mean I've said this

[01:13:47] [SPEAKER_04]: before where like my uncle he

[01:13:50] [SPEAKER_04]: he's really somebody who was pushing

[01:13:52] [SPEAKER_04]: preparedness forever

[01:13:54] [SPEAKER_04]: he's always been doing it and you

[01:13:56] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of look at me like okay that's

[01:13:57] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of cool

[01:14:00] [SPEAKER_04]: but then watching the show Jericho

[01:14:02] [SPEAKER_04]: really got my my mind like racing

[01:14:05] [SPEAKER_04]: of okay if this ever happened

[01:14:07] [SPEAKER_04]: what could I do and where would I

[01:14:10] [SPEAKER_04]: be and all this kind of stuff and

[01:14:12] [SPEAKER_04]: that kind of got my the gear is

[01:14:14] [SPEAKER_04]: going on the whole preparedness

[01:14:16] [SPEAKER_04]: thing and that kind of got me going

[01:14:17] [SPEAKER_04]: on that and and so yeah I just it's

[01:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: just one of those things where I

[01:14:23] [SPEAKER_04]: just wish

[01:14:26] [SPEAKER_04]: it's just one of those things where

[01:14:27] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah just I just wish I knew

[01:14:31] [SPEAKER_04]: what I was getting into

[01:14:33] [SPEAKER_04]: pretty much

[01:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean where that we're the road

[01:14:35] [SPEAKER_04]: to have taken and how much money

[01:14:37] [SPEAKER_04]: spending and

[01:14:38] [SPEAKER_04]: the you know it's the junk that

[01:14:41] [SPEAKER_04]: you buy that okay this doesn't

[01:14:43] [SPEAKER_04]: work but then this does it's

[01:14:44] [SPEAKER_04]: it's like how much crap I have that

[01:14:46] [SPEAKER_04]: just doesn't get used anymore

[01:14:49] [SPEAKER_04]: because I've either a upgraded

[01:14:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and handed it down

[01:14:51] [SPEAKER_04]: or just it I bought it because it

[01:14:54] [SPEAKER_04]: was a gimmick that someone tried

[01:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: to that someone sold me on

[01:14:57] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm like well that kind of

[01:14:58] [SPEAKER_04]: sucks it doesn't really work so

[01:15:00] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't know it's just one of

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: those things where it's just

[01:15:01] [SPEAKER_04]: hindsight is 2020 but

[01:15:03] [SPEAKER_04]: at the end of the day

[01:15:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean

[01:15:06] [SPEAKER_04]: your every day you every day you

[01:15:08] [SPEAKER_04]: prep is just is your one day

[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: better

[01:15:10] [SPEAKER_04]: so just start

[01:15:11] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm glad I started and I'm

[01:15:13] [SPEAKER_04]: glad the road that it's taking me

[01:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: down and

[01:15:17] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah we'll see where it goes I guess

[01:15:19] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah and if I had to go back in time

[01:15:21] [SPEAKER_03]: and tell younger Phil

[01:15:23] [SPEAKER_03]: anything about preparedness

[01:15:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I would tell younger Phil

[01:15:27] [SPEAKER_03]: that the emergency you might be

[01:15:29] [SPEAKER_03]: preparing for is substantially

[01:15:31] [SPEAKER_03]: worse than the one you're

[01:15:32] [SPEAKER_03]: currently thinking of

[01:15:33] [SPEAKER_03]: because like I said like I grew up

[01:15:36] [SPEAKER_03]: with the idea of like the box

[01:15:38] [SPEAKER_03]: of hurricane snacks and the

[01:15:39] [SPEAKER_03]: the couple flats of water

[01:15:41] [SPEAKER_03]: and the couple packs of

[01:15:43] [SPEAKER_03]: batteries like that was all we

[01:15:44] [SPEAKER_03]: really needed to get through a

[01:15:46] [SPEAKER_03]: hurricane you know thank god we

[01:15:47] [SPEAKER_03]: hadn't been hit by

[01:15:48] [SPEAKER_03]: anything of the magnitude of what

[01:15:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I've seen since then

[01:15:52] [SPEAKER_03]: so if I had to go back and tell

[01:15:54] [SPEAKER_03]: like teenage Phil

[01:15:57] [SPEAKER_03]: you know because like it was

[01:15:58] [SPEAKER_03]: really when I was like 21 and 22

[01:16:00] [SPEAKER_03]: years old that

[01:16:01] [SPEAKER_03]: a tour in Iraq and then

[01:16:03] [SPEAKER_03]: watching Hurricane Katrina ground

[01:16:04] [SPEAKER_03]: zero really flipped my eyes open

[01:16:06] [SPEAKER_03]: real fast but if I had to go

[01:16:08] [SPEAKER_03]: back in time and tell teenage

[01:16:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Phil something I would say hey

[01:16:10] [SPEAKER_03]: bud the emergency you need

[01:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: to prepare for is a lot worse

[01:16:14] [SPEAKER_03]: than the one you've seen before

[01:16:16] [SPEAKER_03]: and that might have pushed me

[01:16:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know that it would have

[01:16:20] [SPEAKER_03]: pushed me in a preparedness

[01:16:22] [SPEAKER_03]: younger but it would have given

[01:16:24] [SPEAKER_03]: me some direction as far as

[01:16:25] [SPEAKER_03]: once I got into it like I wouldn't

[01:16:27] [SPEAKER_03]: have been preparing for

[01:16:29] [SPEAKER_03]: the two or three day emergency

[01:16:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I would have started off

[01:16:32] [SPEAKER_03]: with that sign post up

[01:16:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I need to be ready for a month

[01:16:35] [SPEAKER_03]: and now we're well past that

[01:16:37] [SPEAKER_03]: point but like

[01:16:39] [SPEAKER_03]: you know it took me some time

[01:16:41] [SPEAKER_03]: to realize like that was what

[01:16:42] [SPEAKER_03]: I was preparing for that was the

[01:16:44] [SPEAKER_03]: magnitude of what I could be facing

[01:16:46] [SPEAKER_03]: is you need to be able to live

[01:16:48] [SPEAKER_03]: off grid for a month

[01:16:49] [SPEAKER_03]: and when I first started

[01:16:52] [SPEAKER_03]: thinking about preparedness

[01:16:53] [SPEAKER_03]: that wasn't even on my radar

[01:16:55] [SPEAKER_03]: like if something was going to

[01:16:57] [SPEAKER_03]: last for a month like why

[01:16:58] [SPEAKER_03]: why would it why how would that

[01:16:59] [SPEAKER_03]: even happen

[01:17:00] [SPEAKER_03]: like we live in the first world

[01:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: in the United States of America

[01:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: where you flip a switch

[01:17:06] [SPEAKER_03]: and lights come on and you twist

[01:17:07] [SPEAKER_03]: a tap and clean water comes out

[01:17:09] [SPEAKER_03]: like the idea that we could ever

[01:17:11] [SPEAKER_03]: be in a situation where

[01:17:12] [SPEAKER_03]: any part of this country could be

[01:17:14] [SPEAKER_03]: that screwed up for 30 days

[01:17:16] [SPEAKER_03]: it didn't register with me

[01:17:17] [SPEAKER_03]: but it does now

[01:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: and if you live in places like

[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_03]: you know

[01:17:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Flint Michigan then I guess

[01:17:23] [SPEAKER_03]: the whole reference about

[01:17:24] [SPEAKER_03]: clean water coming out of the tap

[01:17:25] [SPEAKER_03]: is lost on y'all poor SOBs

[01:17:27] [SPEAKER_03]: want want yeah some people don't

[01:17:31] [SPEAKER_03]: live in the first world

[01:17:31] [SPEAKER_03]: even they live in the United

[01:17:32] [SPEAKER_03]: States of America

[01:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: tragedy that is

[01:17:35] [SPEAKER_03]: but we do need to go ahead

[01:17:37] [SPEAKER_03]: and start wrapping this up

[01:17:38] [SPEAKER_03]: rolling this out the door

[01:17:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I have dinner to go eat

[01:17:41] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'm sure Jordan is about

[01:17:44] [SPEAKER_03]: to get choked to death

[01:17:45] [SPEAKER_03]: with her microphone

[01:17:46] [SPEAKER_03]: with her headphone cords

[01:17:48] [SPEAKER_03]: and James I'm sure you have

[01:17:49] [SPEAKER_03]: trouble to get into

[01:17:52] [SPEAKER_03]: so James Walton and

[01:17:53] [SPEAKER_03]: traffic commander

[01:17:54] [SPEAKER_03]: prepper broadcasting network

[01:17:56] [SPEAKER_03]: if you can't figure out

[01:17:57] [SPEAKER_03]: where to find prepper

[01:17:58] [SPEAKER_03]: broadcasting network

[01:17:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I think last time I

[01:18:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I checked y'all

[01:18:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I checked our stats like

[01:18:02] [SPEAKER_03]: literally today and we're doing

[01:18:04] [SPEAKER_03]: like what 30,000 downloads

[01:18:05] [SPEAKER_03]: a month or something crazy

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_03]: like that

[01:18:07] [SPEAKER_01]: we're down actually

[01:18:08] [SPEAKER_01]: but yeah 30,000

[01:18:10] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I've been following it too

[01:18:12] [SPEAKER_01]: we're down in 24 but

[01:18:14] [SPEAKER_01]: you know what it was though

[01:18:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you guys are

[01:18:16] [SPEAKER_01]: too you know that iTunes was

[01:18:18] [SPEAKER_01]: they didn't get in any trouble

[01:18:20] [SPEAKER_01]: but they were inflating

[01:18:21] [SPEAKER_01]: the statistics

[01:18:22] [SPEAKER_01]: they were like auto

[01:18:24] [SPEAKER_01]: downloading on everybody's

[01:18:25] [SPEAKER_01]: phone and counting it for

[01:18:27] [SPEAKER_01]: everybody's podcast everywhere

[01:18:29] [SPEAKER_01]: and it really hurt the big

[01:18:30] [SPEAKER_01]: guys a lot

[01:18:32] [SPEAKER_01]: yeah podcast news

[01:18:36] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah but

[01:18:37] [SPEAKER_03]: prepper broadcasting network

[01:18:38] [SPEAKER_03]: give or buy the spiel it's

[01:18:40] [SPEAKER_03]: what is it

[01:18:41] [SPEAKER_03]: it's 12 shows and 18 hosts

[01:18:43] [SPEAKER_03]: or something like that

[01:18:43] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it's 12 shows now

[01:18:45] [SPEAKER_01]: and 15 hosts

[01:18:47] [SPEAKER_01]: something like it's always

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_01]: moving around

[01:18:48] [SPEAKER_01]: there's a bunch of shows

[01:18:49] [SPEAKER_01]: and a bunch of hosts

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_01]: is what I'm going to say

[01:18:50] [SPEAKER_01]: going forward I think

[01:18:51] [SPEAKER_01]: a bunch of shows

[01:18:52] [SPEAKER_01]: and a bunch of hosts all

[01:18:54] [SPEAKER_01]: you know across the nation

[01:18:56] [SPEAKER_01]: and in Canada

[01:18:58] [SPEAKER_01]: and you know

[01:18:59] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're looking for a

[01:19:00] [SPEAKER_01]: variety of opinions

[01:19:02] [SPEAKER_01]: on preparedness

[01:19:03] [SPEAKER_01]: and the news that you dig

[01:19:05] [SPEAKER_01]: that's prepper broadcasting

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_01]: dot com

[01:19:07] [SPEAKER_03]: yeah a lot of different perspectives

[01:19:09] [SPEAKER_03]: to like Jordan

[01:19:10] [SPEAKER_03]: with Phoenix survival

[01:19:11] [SPEAKER_03]: you've recently

[01:19:13] [SPEAKER_03]: kind of

[01:19:14] [SPEAKER_03]: from the from the ashes

[01:19:16] [SPEAKER_03]: brought your show back to life

[01:19:17] [SPEAKER_03]: for sure

[01:19:19] [SPEAKER_03]: totally totally

[01:19:20] [SPEAKER_00]: like Saturday morning

[01:19:21] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm softballing that one

[01:19:22] [SPEAKER_03]: right over the plate for you

[01:19:23] [SPEAKER_03]: knocking out of the park

[01:19:24] [SPEAKER_00]: now I appreciate it

[01:19:25] [SPEAKER_00]: yeah I'm on Saturday mornings

[01:19:27] [SPEAKER_00]: though

[01:19:28] [SPEAKER_00]: so I don't catch everybody

[01:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: but

[01:19:31] [SPEAKER_00]: it you know

[01:19:32] [SPEAKER_00]: it's just start the weekend

[01:19:33] [SPEAKER_03]: but yeah I mean

[01:19:34] [SPEAKER_03]: that's the thing about

[01:19:36] [SPEAKER_03]: this this collection of lunatics

[01:19:38] [SPEAKER_03]: that is prepper broadcasting network

[01:19:40] [SPEAKER_03]: is like it's all these different shows

[01:19:41] [SPEAKER_03]: it's all these different perspectives

[01:19:43] [SPEAKER_03]: it's all these different experiences

[01:19:45] [SPEAKER_03]: it's all these different people

[01:19:47] [SPEAKER_03]: that all approach the question

[01:19:48] [SPEAKER_03]: of how do we survive

[01:19:51] [SPEAKER_03]: bad stuff

[01:19:52] [SPEAKER_03]: in our environment

[01:19:53] [SPEAKER_03]: with our skill sets

[01:19:55] [SPEAKER_03]: so on so forth

[01:19:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and so we wind up

[01:19:58] [SPEAKER_03]: sometimes sounding like

[01:20:00] [SPEAKER_03]: we're all singing off

[01:20:00] [SPEAKER_03]: same sheet of music

[01:20:01] [SPEAKER_03]: but to be perfectly honest

[01:20:03] [SPEAKER_03]: you don't have to listen to

[01:20:04] [SPEAKER_03]: about a week of content

[01:20:05] [SPEAKER_03]: and realize that like

[01:20:06] [SPEAKER_03]: each one of those shows

[01:20:07] [SPEAKER_03]: each one of those hosts

[01:20:09] [SPEAKER_03]: really does have their own

[01:20:10] [SPEAKER_03]: individual perspective

[01:20:11] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean that's what you get out of me

[01:20:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and Andrew

[01:20:14] [SPEAKER_03]: anytime we talk about

[01:20:15] [SPEAKER_03]: something relating to weather

[01:20:17] [SPEAKER_03]: because

[01:20:18] [SPEAKER_03]: there's a little bit of difference

[01:20:19] [SPEAKER_03]: between New Orleans

[01:20:21] [SPEAKER_03]: and Michigan

[01:20:22] [SPEAKER_03]: and the weather events

[01:20:23] [SPEAKER_03]: we have to deal with are so

[01:20:25] [SPEAKER_03]: absolutely like

[01:20:26] [SPEAKER_03]: opposite in some cases

[01:20:29] [SPEAKER_03]: like he starts talking about

[01:20:30] [SPEAKER_03]: getting a couple feet of snow

[01:20:32] [SPEAKER_03]: and like I start turning

[01:20:33] [SPEAKER_03]: the heater up down here

[01:20:34] [SPEAKER_03]: because I just can't even

[01:20:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't even want to think about that

[01:20:36] [SPEAKER_03]: and then I tell him like

[01:20:38] [SPEAKER_03]: oh yeah you know

[01:20:39] [SPEAKER_03]: there's a cap or hurricane in the

[01:20:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Gulf we're gonna sit here

[01:20:41] [SPEAKER_03]: and wait and see what happens

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_03]: with it

[01:20:42] [SPEAKER_03]: and I'm sure half the audience

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_03]: thinks I'm completely

[01:20:44] [SPEAKER_03]: bad crap crazy but

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_03]: you know

[01:20:47] [SPEAKER_03]: you can't evacuate for all of them

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_03]: every now and then

[01:20:49] [SPEAKER_03]: you gotta sit around

[01:20:50] [SPEAKER_03]: and play the prepper

[01:20:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Super Bowl so I'm saying

[01:20:55] [SPEAKER_03]: but we need to go

[01:20:56] [SPEAKER_03]: and punt this one out the door

[01:20:57] [SPEAKER_03]: thank you James and Jordan

[01:20:58] [SPEAKER_03]: for coming on

[01:20:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Andrew thank you for

[01:21:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Thanks for having me

[01:21:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Kyle Holly is going to

[01:21:02] [SPEAKER_03]: have a field day

[01:21:03] [SPEAKER_03]: with that for the rest of the day

[01:21:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm sure

[01:21:06] [SPEAKER_02]: welcome

[01:21:07] [SPEAKER_03]: and to the listeners

[01:21:08] [SPEAKER_03]: the next time

[01:21:09] [SPEAKER_03]: we ask y'all for feedback

[01:21:11] [SPEAKER_03]: or leave y'all with a question

[01:21:12] [SPEAKER_03]: and we encourage you to use

[01:21:13] [SPEAKER_03]: you know

[01:21:14] [SPEAKER_03]: our social media to reach out

[01:21:16] [SPEAKER_03]: or the contact form

[01:21:18] [SPEAKER_03]: please do

[01:21:18] [SPEAKER_03]: because if you don't

[01:21:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Andrew gets the sads

[01:21:20] [SPEAKER_03]: and then I have to try to

[01:21:22] [SPEAKER_03]: talk them up

[01:21:23] [SPEAKER_03]: and we'll be back in another week

[01:21:25] [SPEAKER_03]: bye everybody
