PBN Daily News: Praise the Preppers, Tortellini, and Bridge Collapse

[00:00:00] .

[00:00:31] The end of March is upon us, PBN Family. Can you believe in another month?

[00:00:36] Can you believe in another month the gardens are going to be incredible within the PBN family this year.

[00:00:46] So many people even our guests last night if you didn't hear Prepper's live we had the people's farm and his pharmacist Jen Vandowateron yesterday evening.

[00:00:56] And I've known for a bit. I wanted you guys to get to know and I think we're going to have her on more often but even she's talking about chickens and talking about gardens and expanding and greenhouses and so on

[00:01:10] and you know this movement is exploding at the moment. There's no denying it.

[00:01:17] I don't know if it's the necessarily the Prepper movement but what I do know for sure is it's the movement that we have built the process is around and created the accessibility too.

[00:01:31] And I want you to be proud of that, you know?

[00:01:37] I want you to be proud of that, you know, doing what you do listening to us supporting us through membership all these things and supporting the other preppers out there in the world.

[00:01:48] You know all of this is culminated into this moment where just like in 2020 just exactly like in 2020 when the world goes what the hell is happening?

[00:02:03] And then they go and what should I do about it? And they turn around and there are 5,000 podcasts on the Prepper Broadcasting Network.

[00:02:12] There are millions of YouTube videos on home-steading, prepping, off-grid living, you know so on and so forth.

[00:02:22] But I always give prepping the leg up on it all because what being a Prepper does is it allows you to explore everything.

[00:02:32] Right, like if you're a gardener you're not going to wind up with an AR-15 on your back.

[00:02:36] You're not going to stumble into how do I zero my rifles go, right?

[00:02:42] Which body armor should I buy which I fact should I strap to it?

[00:02:49] If you're a home-steader maybe do that at night when the family is asleep, you know what I mean?

[00:02:54] But preppers wear it as a badge of honor. Right, we're in everything.

[00:03:00] We're pound and metal, we're raising chickens, we're raising ghosts, we're shooting steel targets, we're using our eye target pro, right?

[00:03:09] Promo code Prepper for 10% off, eye target pro dot com, get it, get it, get it.

[00:03:16] We do all this stuff, you know and we're taking first aid classes, tactical courses, foraging court, right?

[00:03:23] When you become a Prepper, you join a community of P and I think this is what people miss when they run away from our community because of a name which is so silly.

[00:03:36] When you fully embrace this thing and you surround yourself with people who are preppers and unabashed like this is what I am, this is what I do the world be damned because it is damned.

[00:03:49] That's when you're free. That's when you can open up your eyes every day and say what kind of crazy stuff do I want to get into?

[00:03:56] Because this is my lifestyle now.

[00:03:59] So, you know, I commend you out there. I do. I want you to never underestimate the infrastructure that you've helped build for the American people in this moment in time.

[00:04:11] Never underestimate it. The support that you've given us and people like us, the support that you've given to keep businesses up and running.

[00:04:21] It all has created this infrastructure that's amazing, this chaos infrastructure, this cake calm within chaos infrastructure.

[00:04:30] Right? So people can say everything is crazy. Let me go buy some long term food storage. Let me get a freeze dryer. Let me, you know, whatever it is that they want to do.

[00:04:42] Now, from the heart of the preppers themselves, we have to construct our April routine. Our April routine is going to be a member's only routine.

[00:04:54] And that just is what it is guys, you know, if you're out there and you're saying, damn it I want to be a part of these routines. Listen, the February routine is available at PBNFamily.com and it was for everybody.

[00:05:05] Okay, March we did for members April. We were going to do for members also it's just the nature of the things that we're doing some of them are going to be available to everybody some of them aren't.

[00:05:14] The members support this network man they float this thing you know that that's it. We have we go through ups and downs with sponsorship you know sometimes we got a ton of sponsors sometimes we don't got a ton of sponsors but the members are always there.

[00:05:28] And they have to you know understand and that they're valuable to us in that regard.

[00:05:36] I want to thank Mark for joining joining us in the live chat one of our newest members last night.

[00:05:42] I'll get you spread all around the element chat are you guys an element you're if you're listening.

[00:05:47] You need to go to proper broadcasting dot com and go to the live shows tab and join the element live chat room.

[00:05:54] We don't do as many live shows as we used to but we still do a lot of live shows and more importantly element is full of great people.

[00:06:02] I mean it's full of people I don't know how many people are in there anymore actually doesn't necessarily matter does it like I'm not going to give you a verifiable number where you're like well I would have went in there if you said that number but since you said this number.

[00:06:15] It's a quality over quantity thing anyway.

[00:06:20] I put a poll out yesterday to the members chat in element to see what it is they'd like to see focused on in our routines or in our April routine rather you know there are some non negotiables.

[00:06:36] Fitness is a non negotiable right dry fire practice non negotiable every month every single month this year.

[00:06:44] Our routines are going to contain workouts dry fire practice that's just part of the deal because I think both are completely in 100% accessible to all I have to assume that all have a handgun if not I don't know you need one tell you that much.

[00:07:08] So all of those are accessible to all your physical fitness is paramount you know we're beyond the point of arguing that there's no arguing I spent the early part of my podcast in career arguing with preppers about the importance of physical fitness those days are over right it's just is what it is here I am the command so fitness is fitness is the thing.

[00:07:31] So those two are not negotiable but you know we do a bunch of things you do about four different things per day.

[00:07:37] I did notice in our early iterations that asking people to work out and then go run later in the days probably probably overkill in terms of fitness maybe not for everybody but busy people it's like come on do when when am I going to can we keep it to at least one workout a day so I'm going to try to do that.

[00:07:56] The only thing I'll slip in is stretching because I think stretching in the evening is it's great it's great for you it's great way to calm down tone down it's a great way to get your body mobility up and running people seize up man I'm watching it with my own eyes I've watched it with people you know you will seize up when you're a little kid you could like bend yourself into a pretzel you get into your third 30s 40s you're not taking care of yourself I see people start to seize up.

[00:08:24] It can't do things they used to be able to do and that's just all you got to do is stretch.

[00:08:29] Like it doesn't make any sense why would you let this thing that carries your brain around completely sees up into a little ball of tension so off grid builds seems to be in the lead right now over at the pole.

[00:08:48] I have some ideas about off grid builds and how we can build that into our April routine.

[00:08:55] Because they are day to day routine so we're not going to be building something every single day but I'm thinking we could do a four week build schedule and build for off grid projects that I think are important.

[00:09:08] Yeah, amongst other things those are some of the things that will be doing in April together as a community and we use the routine mentality the daily five day week routine mentality we use that mentality on purpose.

[00:09:24] And it's to make sure that you're staying focused you know things don't just happen you know what I mean things don't just happen things don't just get done doesn't work that way.

[00:09:36] Now let's get into the terrible news in Baltimore.

[00:09:41] Major incident brought to you by the great man brief major incident a cargo ship. Singapore flag dolly I don't know what that means.

[00:10:06] Left port in Baltimore Maryland and struck the Francis Scott key bridge the 695 bridge for those of you familiar with the area approximately 28 minutes later some videos appear to show the ship losing power just prior to the strike.

[00:10:25] The bridge collapsed completely and J. Ferg said that seven people have been pronounced dead so far all lanes obviously of I 695 are closed because there's no more bridge to get across

[00:10:40] and the governor of Maryland is declared a state of emergency now you have to understand.

[00:10:45] You got I 95 you got 895 you got tunnels and you got bridges right and you got 695 and this is how you get through Baltimore.

[00:10:57] So obviously and 695 is the largest of the sort of thoroughfares that go around the city you know sort of like a 395 495 situation down there in D.C.

[00:11:15] Right or 288 here in Virginia 150 what I'm 288 no 288.

[00:11:24] This one threat one solution you know I don't know we'll see I don't think this was malicious in any way you know but who knows I don't know I watched a video couple times I'm not into deep detective work on it I'm not even qualified to do that.

[00:11:40] What I do know is this P.B. and family for you one threat one solution advice.

[00:11:47] We are moving population we are a population that travels to new locations right we don't stick where we used to stick we used to stay in the town staying village day in the city we grew up and have kids generationally

[00:12:00] and we've taken a beating because we decided to live as as no mad again.

[00:12:05] In a number of ways but I don't want to get into it what I will tell you is this you better have some alternative routes in and out of where you live.

[00:12:15] If you have a bug out location if you have numerous bug out locations you better have alternative routes.

[00:12:24] What I have next to me is a relic it's a random McNally Virginia state map believe it or not you can buy a paper map this map actually lives in my bug out bag.

[00:12:39] You can buy a map of your state you can buy a map of your area paper maps you can buy a road at list right that give you give you routes all over the whole country.

[00:12:52] These are things that you need man you know what I'm saying these are things that you have to have because if you don't have them and when it counts.

[00:13:05] Off grid bridges collapsing all those ways that you're used to traveling if they become a dead end the last thing you want to do particularly trying to get somewhere fast is abandon your vehicle and go on foot I know we have this bug out sort of fantasy where we're backpacking with the family to our bug out location in the worst of worst case scenarios.

[00:13:26] But you know your goal is to remain at 60 plus miles per hour if there's a real problem and you're trying to get somewhere before all hell breaks loose.

[00:13:36] Right like you don't want to be in a situation where you have to abandon your plan altogether because you can't get to your bug out location that you've outfitted with resources and so on.

[00:13:51] And that's just the deal folks so if you don't have alternative routes north southeast and west for evacuation at the very least look into that get yourself one of these paper maps you can keep in your car get yourself a road at list you could keep in your car your spouses car whatever.

[00:14:08] And be prepared you know in the event that something like this happens in your life is disrupted at a time when you can afford a disruption.

[00:14:18] You know my like we moved my parents down with us over the weekend and we drove through Baltimore.

[00:14:28] And if something like this had happened I don't know we might wait I might say let's wait because traffic is going to be crazy Baltimore.

[00:14:38] So you know it is what it is terrible horrible absolute nightmare situation I hope I hope they can get the bridge back up and running and you know pray for the people who were doused in that you know middle of the night doused in that water because that's terrible it's going to be crazy.

[00:14:57] That's terrible it's cold it's holacious you don't have a lot of time to survive a situation like that and people didn't survive you know when the underpinnings of all are safety and things go away it's always it's always a reminder of how frail this world is and our lives in particular.

[00:15:23] Let me lift your spirits with a little spring lunch now that is a delicious cut of long pork.

[00:15:33] SHTF chef PB and family.

[00:15:43] Is it too off color the long pork the long pork segment people even know what it is probably not know what it is most of.

[00:15:53] It's funny I already have a laugh once in a while okay we have a state department that is trying to literally eliminate a candidate for president in every way that they can and it's just completely and totally back firing in my estimation will see come election time but.

[00:16:13] You know there's a lot of crazy out there you have to be able to laugh and enjoy yourself one of the ways I like to enjoy myself this time of year is by taking advantage of the things that are great this time of the year.

[00:16:28] Sparragus English piece many of you might have a sparragus starting right now I have a English piece that are popping up out of the ground right now and before long they'll be climbing right.

[00:16:43] I had a sparragus for a little while it died off on me I'm not I don't have a really great area for a sparragus so it has to be raised bed and right now the area I grew sparragus sparragus rather I dedicated to strawberries just because I don't know it was you know experiment

[00:17:03] but I do like to get my hands on that asparagus and I like to slice it up a little in its raw state and I like to have those peas fresh or frozen however I can get them this time of year first time I eat this will probably be this week and it will be frozen peas because peas ain't ready yet.

[00:17:23] You can't do canned peas with this this is no good this is all about freshness this is all about fresh spring flavor okay.

[00:17:32] You get yourself a good or you make yourself a good cheese ravioli or tortellini okay cheese ravioli cheese tortellini whatever one you like.

[00:17:44] Like boil salted water as they start to float as they're getting close to being done add your slice to sparragus add your sliced peas you know consumer it with the sort of ratio that you would like.

[00:18:01] And then you know give it another minute or something like that you don't even need a full minute with asparagus to be honest for it to be delicious.

[00:18:11] You can when I worked in the restaurant industry I take asparagus I'd plunge it into boiling water whole for a salad that we were doing and I'd pull it almost immediately out and shock it in nice water.

[00:18:26] But that's not how I do it at home I throw theseparagus in the frozen peas in with the tortellini.

[00:18:32] At the very end 30 seconds whatever something like that dump it all out into a calendar together because it's going to stay together it's a party now you know what I mean.

[00:18:44] Then in a pan I'll start a little butter.

[00:18:46] Low temperature melt the butter low temp and all I'm doing is I'm going to toss that cheese ravioli and vegetables in that warm butter.

[00:19:02] If I really want to get crazy I might add a little not a lot you don't want too much because this is a delicate little dish maybe a little few slices of garlic in there.

[00:19:13] But most of the time I just do butter I toss the pasta in there get it coated with the butter then I put a good Parmesan cheese on top.

[00:19:23] Toss that a little bit onto the plate and it's delicious if you want to top it with some good olive oil that's not bad.

[00:19:31] I like to top it with fresh of Rougola another you know baby Rougola is probably one of my favorite top three favorite things about spring.

[00:19:42] And you're eating man you're eating and it's great in the suns out and it's the blue sky and you know trees are starting to bloom and you're eating your cheese tortellini with aparagus and peas and it feels like spring man.

[00:19:54] Oh you know what else you can do to this dish it's kind of fun I don't do it very often because it's a lot of richness.

[00:19:59] You can break up a little goat cheese if you're one of these goat cheese people who can't get enough you can break a little goat cheese up on this at the end.

[00:20:07] You know delicately break it up crumble it over top the dish if you're one of those fetiches maniacs you can put do fed on this too it's pretty good.

[00:20:15] I usually stick with the parmesan and enjoy myself you know what I mean so let's get into words and call it a day here all right on PBN Daily News.

[00:20:46] Your path back disability now I would never have imagined that we would be a motivating force here at PBN to inspire you to a better life.

[00:20:58] You know the way I started out was explaining to people how to do things to help them survive the worst of the worst and now I find myself listening to the hosts and creating content myself that is almost completely about inspiration.

[00:21:15] And pushing towards a great life and that's because you once you gather all these skills and stuff you start to realize like oh I can make my life great like now that I know what I'm doing I can make my life great nobody can get in the way of it.

[00:21:30] You know what I mean I can make I can grow tons of food out of my backyard nobody can get away with it I can store all the wood or my family needs nobody get away get in my way of it.

[00:21:42] You know what I mean it's really become I can follow the things my passions nobody can get in the way of them.

[00:21:49] And of course you know we have to fight to sustain that because the government wants to get in the way of everything now.

[00:21:56] We just need to call back to the constitution we need to throw people out of office and we probably need I think at this moment and then we'll get into what I want to read you from Kaleel to brand.

[00:22:09] I think in this moment what we truly need is a fire option rapid fire that's what we need we need the ability to boot people instantaneously if the representative say so you know we need to vote more fundamentally.

[00:22:25] You know all this yakety yak from the left about democracy we should be voting more we can vote on our phone you know what I mean it's not like we can't figure that out.

[00:22:35] And of course everything will be contested but you know I do think that we need a we need a system of strikes or a system of voting where if you're a part of a group that puts to puts forth something that attacks an amendment directly or attacks multiple amendments of the constitution strike one.

[00:23:00] Right if you're a person who votes on a budget or on a bill like the $1.2 billion bill that just passed that had that is you know in all honesty guys we should all be outside of capital of the capital asking about the future of this country asking about our children's future their children's future their children's children's future and how they plan on sustaining this while protecting the borders of Zimbabwe with all our tax money.

[00:23:29] You know or it just becomes this simple did you read the bill I did not read the bill but I signed it okay strike you get three strikes you kicked out of office that's simple or the public has a vote and says well this guy's read this guy's given what been a part of the group that's given away over a trillion dollars to foreign nations and has had nothing to help the American people we're going to we're going to hold a vote.

[00:23:59] Do you want them to be a representative yes or no no his terms not up I know that's like impeachment but impeachment don't work we need a more rapid ability to punish representatives who are not representing.

[00:24:15] You can't be representing the people listen everybody who signs a $1.2 billion bill they never read is not a representative do you understand there's no way you can claim to be a representative.

[00:24:29] Of your constituents if you signed away $1.2 billion of their money and don't even know where it's going to how could you represent anyone you know what I mean it's impossible.

[00:24:44] So in the midst of all that we have to find the beauty in life the beauty in life that exists day in and day out the beauty in life that did all this sort of high tension high anxiety high blood pressure

[00:24:58] things that stuff that's happening you know all around the world can can make us miss and Khalil Jabran in a tear in a smile wrote a great little we're going to read a lot here.

[00:25:13] We're probably going to read the truth now we're going to read to the end this is his chapter called fantasy and truth it's only about a page but it's important I'm not going to read it.

[00:25:27] I'm not going to go with the intro I'm going to go with starting with beauty because what he details and fantasy and truth is all the beauty that exists around us and how we hide from it to one degree or another.

[00:25:43] He says beauty appears before us seated on her throne of glory and we drawed an eye and in the name of longing do we defile her garments him and rest from her the crown of purity love passes by as clothed in a robe of gentleness and we're afraid and hide us in the dark caves or follow her and do evil things in her name.

[00:26:05] The wise man walks in our midst bearing his heavy yoke yet is it softer than the breath of a flower and gentler than the breezes of Lebanon wisdom stands on the street corner and calls to us above the multitude but we deem her a thing without worth and despise them the follower.

[00:26:25] Let me turn page nature stretches forth to us the hand of friendship and bids is take delight in her beauty man is that ever true and now is the time.

[00:26:38] To recognize how true that is i'm reading that again nature stretches forth to us the hand of friendship and bids is take delight in her beauty but we fear her stillness and take refuge in the city and tumble one upon another as a flock of sheep before the prowling wolf.

[00:26:54] Truth visits us led by the smile of a child in a lover's kiss and we close the door of our tenderness against her and abandon hers one unclean.

[00:27:04] Thus wise pass the nights and we are heedless of them the days meet us and we fear the days and the nights we are near to earth yet gods are our kin we pass by the bread of life and hunger feeds off our strength.

[00:27:20] How sweet to us is life and how far we are from life.

[00:27:27] Khalil Jabran, tears or a tear and a smile have a good day folks thank you for joining me here on PBN Daily News again this is your path back to stability.
