[00:00:03] You're listening to PBN. You will pay us back the stability here.
[00:00:32] Well, well, well, well. Look who we have here. The PBN audience. What is up, guys? Cheers via Waterloo. We're entering day four of the water crisis here in Virginia.
[00:00:54] I hated this stuff growing up. Absolutely hated it. Thought it was the worst invention of all time.
[00:01:00] I don't know what it is. I've been drinking it now.
[00:01:03] You know, this water crisis in Richmond, Virginia pales in comparison to the Palisades and what's happening on the West Coast.
[00:01:10] But it all is a stark reminder of the fact that Americans at large seemingly are unprepared.
[00:01:23] And it's kind of like an Alpha and Omega, right? Like situation or, or, you know, we got a water situation on the East Coast.
[00:01:31] You got a where's my hand? You got a what? You got a fire situation on the West Coast.
[00:01:39] I'm surprised at the death toll. I don't know if the death toll is what it's going to be over there on the West Coast.
[00:01:45] But look. I've come to this conclusion, folks.
[00:01:49] You got to understand, I'm a guy who has been thinking about Americans getting prepared for a decade at least.
[00:01:58] At least for the last seven to eight years, I've been trying to figure out what is it that motivates people to.
[00:02:07] Move from the idea of a week to week survival.
[00:02:14] Like to move from that mentality to, you know what, we're going to get prepared and we're going to be ready for things.
[00:02:19] What is it that makes people do that kind of stuff?
[00:02:23] I mean, there are big events like these, but even big events like these tend to people get back on the horse and get back into sort of that, you know, convenient and comfortable lifestyle of everything's delivered.
[00:02:38] Just in time delivery. Excuse me. So on and so forth.
[00:02:44] And you find yourself again in this situation, right, where another calamity pops up and everybody goes like, I don't know what to do.
[00:02:51] I don't know what's going on. Security system. Security systems going on.
[00:03:00] So what we should have any minute now. Oh, here we go. OK, well, we should have any minute now.
[00:03:08] I'm going to share my screen. Sorry, just mind the dog.
[00:03:14] And they know exactly what time I go live and when to start yapping.
[00:03:18] You know what I mean? I was going to listen to this water crisis update from Richmond.
[00:03:27] We have some beautiful artwork in the background here.
[00:03:30] So they're not quite there yet. They're getting things ready.
[00:03:34] But I wanted to listen to this update with you guys and see what they say.
[00:03:37] I thought it would be fun to.
[00:03:42] But you know how government is right government there.
[00:03:44] They're like update at 12.
[00:03:47] So they'll probably be really filling us in by about.
[00:03:52] Twelve thirty.
[00:03:54] So they may not make the cut. It is what it is.
[00:03:59] I think most people are overthinking preparedness.
[00:04:03] It's occurred to me that.
[00:04:06] Like six to eight cases of bottled water.
[00:04:10] Puts you in a position where this whole situation that's unfolding in Richmond right now becomes a non issue, really.
[00:04:19] You know what I mean?
[00:04:20] A non issue.
[00:04:22] Maybe if you add to that a little bit of water storage outside.
[00:04:27] What is going on with the camera here?
[00:04:30] Can I not screen share this?
[00:04:33] Let me see if I can make it full screen.
[00:04:36] Wow.
[00:04:37] What's the problem?
[00:04:43] There we go. That's better.
[00:04:46] Again, it puts you in this situation where you realize that we fundamentally are overthinking this whole.
[00:04:54] This whole preparedness idea.
[00:04:59] I think it's the screen share that's creating an issue here.
[00:05:04] All I hear is people laughing in the background anyway, so we'll pause it until it matters.
[00:05:10] I'll take a guess and I'll say we got at least five minutes.
[00:05:12] So I'll go over my monologue and maybe show you off something cool that the members are going to get a peek at today.
[00:05:17] Anyway, very, you know, I used to say at the end of the month, I was saying, you know, get prepared for.
[00:05:28] Three months of K at the end of the year.
[00:05:30] Well, actually, around election time, I was saying, get ready for three months, three months, three months, three months.
[00:05:36] And maybe at maybe what I was doing there was a little too much for the average person, because what I'm coming to realize is that if we're talking about day to day emergencies, disasters, natural disasters.
[00:05:52] Oops, we screwed something up here in with the water system, that kind of stuff.
[00:05:59] It really is like minimal preparedness that you need to get through.
[00:06:05] You know, like I used to kind of laugh about a 72 hour kit.
[00:06:10] Now I'm looking around at the things that are happening in the world and I'm saying to myself, you know, a 72 hour kit would really solve the vast majority of problems people are having right now.
[00:06:23] And maybe not necessarily a 72 hour supply of essential items and essential food and water, right? Essentials.
[00:06:32] And where I think we might be overthinking it as preppers is or I'm sorry, as Americans and at large is.
[00:06:41] To me, it seems like if we can't do it big enough, then we don't do it.
[00:06:49] What's up, Jay Furr? Good afternoon. We're going to watch this water crisis update here soon.
[00:06:55] If we can't if we can't do it big, we don't do it.
[00:06:58] And I think that's what a lot of people's preparedness gripe is.
[00:07:02] If I can't get the backpack I want, if I can't put six months of food up, if I can't buy the bucket of meals.
[00:07:10] What I'm here to tell you today is.
[00:07:13] Maybe time to focus on the little by little.
[00:07:17] Right.
[00:07:18] I used to say.
[00:07:21] Anything is better than nothing.
[00:07:23] There was a point in prepper broadcasting network history where anything is better than nothing was a little phrase that I was using a lot.
[00:07:31] And that's really what this moment in American history with emergencies and disasters is showing us.
[00:07:41] Every little thing is better than nothing.
[00:07:44] I think people get overwhelmed when they start to think about the apocalyptic.
[00:07:49] I think they get overwhelmed when they start to think about like what is happening on the West Coast right now with the fires.
[00:07:57] And then they do nothing, you know.
[00:08:00] But a go bag and a mentality to go along with it.
[00:08:07] Would put you take a ton like tons of people would be out of harm's way.
[00:08:11] You know, a plan, a very minimal plan.
[00:08:15] If fires are here, then we leave, you know, create that line in the sand or create that plan inside your household.
[00:08:23] So you don't what's really dangerous in terms of taking action, physical action, particularly leaving your headquarters.
[00:08:33] Is when you just kind of fly by the seat of your pants, when you go, you were going to leave, we're prepared to leave.
[00:08:40] But I'll decide when we leave.
[00:08:42] You know what I mean?
[00:08:44] Way better to put in some real hard.
[00:08:49] Triggers.
[00:08:50] You put some real hard triggers in play.
[00:08:53] And then all of a sudden, you know, you can you can do something.
[00:08:56] Let's see if they're talking yet.
[00:08:59] No, still an empty podium.
[00:09:01] Still an empty podium.
[00:09:03] Six minutes in.
[00:09:04] Don't worry.
[00:09:04] Nobody's concerned.
[00:09:07] Let me let me move forward.
[00:09:09] In the video.
[00:09:14] How can government always be late?
[00:09:16] I feel it is one of the most disrespectful things.
[00:09:20] When you tell the public that you're going to be there to update them.
[00:09:23] Look, we're sitting pretty.
[00:09:25] You know what I mean?
[00:09:26] We're not in trouble.
[00:09:28] I can only empathize with the people who are really suffering, you know, who are really going through stuff right now who haven't had water in days.
[00:09:35] We've got another snowstorm on the way Saturday.
[00:09:38] You're thinking, I'm going to have no power and I'm going to have no water.
[00:09:43] Wonderful.
[00:09:43] Right.
[00:09:44] This is what people are worried about.
[00:09:46] And then the government tells you, we're going to give you a water crisis update at noon.
[00:09:52] And it's six minutes into noon.
[00:09:57] And we got guys fumbling around with microphones.
[00:10:02] Noon is not when you start setting up.
[00:10:05] This is what I don't understand.
[00:10:07] Noon is not the time for the guy with the goofy glasses to come set up the microphones.
[00:10:13] Noon is when you told the public there's an update.
[00:10:17] You know what I mean?
[00:10:18] How mad would you be?
[00:10:20] I have.
[00:10:21] I mean, what I have to say, I think some of you value.
[00:10:24] But largely, this is entertainment.
[00:10:26] Like, how mad would you be if my show went live and I was like, let's get this thing out and fix this.
[00:10:31] I'm going to go over here and do this.
[00:10:33] And I spent the first 20.
[00:10:35] Nobody would watch.
[00:10:36] I spent the first 20 minutes of the show fixing and crafting.
[00:10:40] I would maybe do my hair.
[00:10:41] Get the.
[00:10:43] What?
[00:10:45] In what world do you feel good about?
[00:10:47] How do you have an how do you have?
[00:10:49] I'll show you what's going on because it's hilarious.
[00:10:52] How do you have an update?
[00:10:55] Scheduled for noon.
[00:10:59] Everybody's here.
[00:11:00] There's people yakking and coughing in the background.
[00:11:04] And this is where we're at.
[00:11:08] Oh, he must have left.
[00:11:10] There was a fella up here getting the microphones ready.
[00:11:14] If I'm the mayor.
[00:11:17] And my people haven't had water in four days.
[00:11:22] I'm here an hour early.
[00:11:25] Get the microphones right.
[00:11:27] Get everything ready.
[00:11:29] Let's double check, triple check the information.
[00:11:31] Let's make sure that we can tell the people what it is they want to hear.
[00:11:36] Because people got serious concerns.
[00:11:38] The last thing they want to do.
[00:11:41] Is show up and see some guy fumbling.
[00:11:43] They don't know.
[00:11:44] Fumbling with microphones.
[00:11:48] I don't know what to tell you.
[00:11:50] You know, this is the state of affairs with government.
[00:11:53] Just is what it is.
[00:11:56] I want to show you something right now.
[00:11:59] I'm going to show you something.
[00:12:01] I'm going to show you a...
[00:12:03] Yeah, we might as well.
[00:12:04] Why not?
[00:12:04] Let's bring it up.
[00:12:07] I've been thinking about this overthinking business.
[00:12:10] I've been overthinking about overthinking.
[00:12:14] And I definitely thought about this water situation.
[00:12:18] What's a prep in this water situation that would really make a difference?
[00:12:22] You know what I mean?
[00:12:23] So let's look inside the cache.
[00:12:25] I'm going to show you a little something.
[00:12:32] Give me one second to bring it up here.
[00:12:36] Now, what this would present.
[00:12:38] I haven't used mine.
[00:12:39] I have a titanium camping cup in my car.
[00:12:43] This is greentipsurplus.com.
[00:12:47] greentipsurplus.com.
[00:12:50] These guys got all kinds of cool stuff.
[00:12:52] But, you know, these canteen cups go a long way.
[00:12:55] And in a boil water emergency, these are a very interesting thing to have on hand.
[00:13:02] Because whether you have a gas stove or whether you have an electric stove or whatever means you're using to boil water,
[00:13:11] you can boil it right in the canteen cup.
[00:13:14] You can make tea directly in the canteen cup.
[00:13:17] You could make coffee in the canteen cup if you wanted to.
[00:13:22] If you had the right things.
[00:13:26] But this gives you an opportunity to cut out sort of a middle piece of the puzzle.
[00:13:30] You know what I mean?
[00:13:32] It gives you the ability to boil water directly over flame, directly over electric heat, whatever it is.
[00:13:37] If you're in a water crisis.
[00:13:39] If I were in a water crisis and I wasn't prepared.
[00:13:41] And I was boiling water to drink in the dead of winter.
[00:13:45] You better believe I'm drinking warm fluids, right?
[00:13:49] And I'm throwing water into this canteen cup, putting it on.
[00:13:52] You have like two or four of these things.
[00:13:55] And everybody in your house can be drinking hot beverages, hot cocoa, coffee, tea, whatever.
[00:14:04] Now all of a sudden it's a lot better than, all right, let's boil a bunch of water and let's chill the water or put it in bottles.
[00:14:10] I don't even know if people have glass bottles anymore.
[00:14:13] You know what I mean?
[00:14:14] That kind of thing.
[00:14:15] And again, this is a what?
[00:14:19] What do they charge for one of these?
[00:14:21] Nine bucks or something?
[00:14:23] This is a $11 prep, right?
[00:14:29] These canteen cups, 11 bucks.
[00:14:34] And I mean, it solves all kinds of problems for you.
[00:14:38] Both, you know, you go camping and that kind of thing.
[00:14:41] But also in a crisis like this, a boil water crisis.
[00:14:44] We still have no one.
[00:14:46] No one from the government has popped their head out to say anything about what's happening.
[00:14:52] I don't know why.
[00:14:54] I don't know why.
[00:14:56] I'm surprised.
[00:14:57] I mean, it's government.
[00:14:57] But, you know, you get to the point where you're four days into a situation.
[00:15:03] The Virginia Department of Health is going to have a field day because we know that things were just, I mean, they're just so wrong.
[00:15:13] Inspections that went terribly wrong at the water treatment facility.
[00:15:18] All kinds of stuff.
[00:15:20] Crazy stuff.
[00:15:20] Backup powers.
[00:15:22] Multiple layers of backup power failed.
[00:15:24] I'm guessing maintenance.
[00:15:26] You know, people are asking here in Richmond, why did the generators fail?
[00:15:30] Well, have you ever gone out and tried to pull a generator to start when it hasn't been on in a year?
[00:15:40] You know what I mean?
[00:15:41] Is the fuel old?
[00:15:42] What kind of generators are there?
[00:15:44] What is the maintenance and the upkeep on generators?
[00:15:47] Everyone's very confused.
[00:15:50] Largely to me, this looks like an instance of someone or or several people had a job to do.
[00:15:59] And they were both unmotivated to do the job and they were they were probably underqualified to do the job.
[00:16:07] And after years and years of things going to dust that under the rug so we can leave early.
[00:16:14] You have a wholesale failure that affects Richmond City and now three other counties.
[00:16:23] You know, the quiet quitting thing, the DEI hiring thing like.
[00:16:30] There are consequences.
[00:16:32] Not everybody stocks shelves at Kroger.
[00:16:35] Some jobs you got to do good at.
[00:16:38] You know what I mean?
[00:16:40] Right before I got on the show, I was trying to record something for the members for Family Gear.
[00:16:48] Everything went poorly.
[00:16:49] So I couldn't do it.
[00:16:52] I'm going to do it after.
[00:16:54] But what I'm going to give you a breakdown of.
[00:16:57] Is another one of these kind of simple preps.
[00:17:00] It's an oh, I hear I hear ruffling and shuffling.
[00:17:05] Oh, Danny, Danny.
[00:17:10] Let's listen.
[00:17:11] We'll get to the solo in just a sec.
[00:17:19] Sounds like we're going to get good news.
[00:17:33] Got to a point where we now have full pressure in all nine zones.
[00:17:37] We started sampling.
[00:17:39] Can you guys hear it all right?
[00:17:41] It's kind of low for me.
[00:17:42] This is a two-step test, right?
[00:17:49] So the first step is now that we're fully pressurized, we will test multiple samples across the system.
[00:17:57] Those have to be sent to the lab, looked at the lab.
[00:18:00] And then 16 hours, if that test is it, well, 16 hours after that, we do a second round of samples.
[00:18:07] The goal is two consecutive negative tests, 15 hours apart.
[00:18:12] And that is the point at which we can raise this boiled water advisory.
[00:18:17] We, if all goes well, we should be able to do that tomorrow or early Saturday.
[00:18:31] Well, the system is up to full pressure.
[00:18:33] So that's really essential for us.
[00:18:38] That means everybody's getting water.
[00:18:40] Everybody's getting water pressure.
[00:18:42] So, just some statistics.
[00:18:43] We're up.
[00:18:44] 19 filters are up.
[00:18:45] Five water pumps pumping.
[00:18:47] 72 million gallons a day.
[00:18:49] And remember, that's well above what our average.
[00:18:52] This is this guy's ninth day as mayor, by the way.
[00:18:57] He must be ready to strangle LeVar Stoney.
[00:19:01] We have a full reservoir.
[00:19:01] That's what ultimately led to us getting to pressure across the system at this point.
[00:19:08] And so, and that's been validated by a lot of the anecdotal reports.
[00:19:11] You know, I think even in about 10 a.m. this morning, we still had parts of the far reaches of Eastern Henrico that hadn't had full pressure.
[00:19:19] But we're starting to hear that that's all getting better now.
[00:19:23] So, we have started the first test, right, where we pull multiple samples.
[00:19:28] Those are in process and started a couple hours ago.
[00:19:31] That's all I needed.
[00:19:34] I don't need to listen to any more.
[00:19:36] So, we are in a situation now where the water is up to full pressure.
[00:19:39] Everybody's going to get distribution.
[00:19:42] So, the people without water are going to have water.
[00:19:44] The people with low pressure are going to get the pressure back today.
[00:19:46] And then, I guess, by about tomorrow, maybe even midday, probably late in the day, the boil water notice will be lifted.
[00:19:58] They'll do their two samples of the water, make sure there's not anything in there that's going to start making people sick.
[00:20:04] And my guess is it'll be just in time for the snow to start to fall, and people will be happy and joyous, and the system will be turned back to what we all expect as people who pay taxes in a modern city in America.
[00:20:18] And we can put this water crisis behind us, hopefully.
[00:20:21] Hopefully.
[00:20:22] Like I said, minimal preps in the Walton household made this really pretty much a none issue.
[00:20:29] And that's really what I want for the average American.
[00:20:33] You know what I mean?
[00:20:34] What I want for the average American is to have minimal water, minimal food preps at the very least.
[00:20:40] Right?
[00:20:40] Maybe even minimal medical and medication preps to get themselves in a situation where when these services go down, you're not running for the hills five minutes into the situation.
[00:20:55] That's what it was.
[00:20:56] It was water shut off, and people are going, well, if water shut off, that means I have zero droplets of water.
[00:21:06] And they're taking off.
[00:21:07] You know what I mean?
[00:21:08] To go remedy that.
[00:21:09] You don't want to be there, man.
[00:21:11] You don't want to be there.
[00:21:15] So let me give you a little peek.
[00:21:17] Let me give you a little peek of the solo.
[00:21:21] One man, 24 plus hour survival kit from Lima Tango Survival, an awesome piece of gear, man.
[00:21:28] Look at all the stuff in this backpack.
[00:21:30] This is one of those things where I'm telling you the overthinking of preparedness puts you in a position where I'm going to make my own bag and my bag is going to be perfect.
[00:21:40] I don't have the money to do it all right now, but I'm going to slowly build this bag up, and then I'm going to have the perfect bag, the perfect gear, the perfect everything, and everything's going to be just mine, just pick the way that I want it.
[00:21:52] And all the time it takes for you to do that, you're left unprepared.
[00:21:57] Now, the reason I've been talking to you guys about Lima Tango Survival is because they are not a run-of-the-mill bag maker.
[00:22:06] I'm not going to go over this thing in deep detail right now.
[00:22:09] Suffice it to say, it's a great bag.
[00:22:11] You can look at the things in this bag and see what makes them stand out, right?
[00:22:17] You can see the higher level food rations, the higher level shelter, the focus on quality outerwear.
[00:22:26] These aren't lab goggles.
[00:22:28] These aren't those throwaway freaking canvas undertaker gloves that people throw in their kits, right?
[00:22:37] They got good stuff.
[00:22:38] They got a shovel in here.
[00:22:40] They got the—this is one of those things that would come in really handy right now.
[00:22:45] You see this steel, single-walled steel water bottle?
[00:22:48] Another.
[00:22:49] Put it right on the stove.
[00:22:50] Boom.
[00:22:50] Boiling water.
[00:22:51] Water boil.
[00:22:52] Water notice.
[00:22:52] Situation isn't a thing.
[00:22:54] Easy, right?
[00:22:55] Aqua Tabs, sewing kit.
[00:22:57] A lot of cool stuff.
[00:22:59] These guys make great bags.
[00:23:01] They make bags that solve problems, and that's kind of what I'm getting at.
[00:23:05] You know what I mean?
[00:23:06] We're at a point in America now where if you're in—if you're thinking about preparedness in 2025,
[00:23:14] you got to solve problems.
[00:23:17] You have to have what you need to solve problems.
[00:23:19] The kids and the wife come to you to say, Dad, the supermarkets have been closed.
[00:23:22] We're hungry.
[00:23:23] Good to know.
[00:23:24] Let's crack into the emergency food storage, right?
[00:23:27] Let's go into the pantry and pick out what we want to eat because we've been buying a little extra food every time we go to the supermarket.
[00:23:35] A little can, a little box, a little this, a little that.
[00:23:37] Maybe even a little frozen, right?
[00:23:40] And now you have the ability to deal with the crisis, and it doesn't feel like—
[00:23:46] Mike, you ask my kids what their experience with the boil water notice situation is,
[00:23:50] and they're going to say, I don't know.
[00:23:52] We watched the news.
[00:23:53] Oh, we had to brush our teeth with bottled water.
[00:23:56] That's probably the most inconvenience that they felt.
[00:23:59] You know what I mean?
[00:24:01] This is what you want.
[00:24:03] This is what you want, and it's well within reach.
[00:24:06] Yesterday's show, I talked about how much money we spent on water and water preps to get us through this situation.
[00:24:13] It was probably less than $25.
[00:24:15] You know what I mean?
[00:24:16] It's definitely less than $50.
[00:24:19] Stop overthinking preparedness, okay?
[00:24:23] Listen, I want you to go to YouTube and check out our man, ThatNub.
[00:24:28] Oh, L2Survive.
[00:24:32] Over at YouTube.
[00:24:34] L2Survive over here.
[00:24:35] Particularly if you like gear.
[00:24:36] If you like gear, you like Back to Eden Garden content.
[00:24:39] Really cool stuff.
[00:24:40] He does great stuff, man.
[00:24:42] He does great stuff.
[00:24:45] You got to check him out.
[00:24:46] L2Survive over at YouTube.
[00:24:48] All right?
[00:24:48] He's a longtime listener, supporter of the podcast.
[00:24:52] Great dude, man.
[00:24:54] And these are the people you want to learn from.
[00:24:57] These are the people you want to support, okay?
[00:24:59] In this new age of alternative media, where do I get my information?
[00:25:02] Where do I learn this?
[00:25:03] Where do I learn that?
[00:25:04] Everybody's putting out build your own survival kit articles now because they're making affiliate income from Amazon and Alibaba and all this kind of crap.
[00:25:14] You got to know where the real stuff is, right?
[00:25:18] He's one of us.
[00:25:20] And for those of you who are one of us, you know what that means.
[00:25:24] And if you don't know what that means, then you need to listen to Prepper Broadcasting Network more and you need to become one of us.
[00:25:30] Because authenticity is a big deal here.
[00:25:32] That's the reason this is the first time in 10 years you're seeing me review a pre-packed bag.
[00:25:38] You've never seen me do a pre-packed bag before.
[00:25:42] Because most of them suck.
[00:25:44] Lima Tango does a great job.
[00:25:46] That's why I'm showing them to you.
[00:25:47] They solve problems.
[00:25:48] You know what I mean?
[00:25:49] So for our members, you're going to get the full review of everything in that bag.
[00:25:54] A real breakdown on what's in there.
[00:25:56] You know, what you can do with it.
[00:25:57] All that kind of stuff.
[00:25:58] You get a real look at that bag.
[00:26:00] In real time, over for our series Family Gear.
[00:26:05] So check that out.
[00:26:06] That should be up, I don't know, today, tomorrow.
[00:26:09] Probably tomorrow.
[00:26:10] I'll film it today.
[00:26:11] I don't know if I'll get to it tonight.
[00:26:13] My son has a basketball game, so I'll be watching some hoops.
[00:26:17] But suffice it to say, stop overthinking preparedness in 2025.
[00:26:25] Keep extra water on hand.
[00:26:27] Keep extra food on hand.
[00:26:28] Keep extra medications on hand.
[00:26:32] Spend a little money.
[00:26:33] Because a little money will make a difference.
[00:26:36] Don't fantasize about saving and spending a big chunk of money.
[00:26:40] And then pushing that down the road.
[00:26:42] Kicking that can down the road.
[00:26:44] Or you wind up spending days, weeks, maybe months unprepared.
[00:26:48] Okay?
[00:26:49] You can buy a single gallon of water at the supermarket.
[00:26:54] For probably a dollar.
[00:26:56] Now that doesn't sound like anything.
[00:26:58] That might not feel real good.
[00:27:01] Do that every other week.
[00:27:04] Do that every other week.
[00:27:05] In a year, you got 25 extra gallons of water.
[00:27:09] You know what I mean?
[00:27:11] This is the mentality.
[00:27:13] This is the mentality.
[00:27:15] I'm going to get out of here, folks.
[00:27:17] I got links down below to canteens.

[00:28:19] And Carl B. will be up tomorrow.

[00:28:27] Amazing show.
[00:28:28] Amazing show for you foragers and you natural healers.
[00:28:31] You love it.
