[00:00:18] PBN family, we are roasting to a golden brown here in Richmond, Virginia today. I think it's going up to about 100,000, something like that today, what it will feel like, right? The heat index, the news is telling me, stay inside, whatever you do. Don't go outside, whatever you do, don't step outside the front door. They're out there, the heat, the heat monsters are out there.
[00:00:44] I mean, you got to be careful, you know, you got to hydrate, things like that, but it gets pretty crazy. Promo code B2 is still up. Promo code B2 for your annual membership, your lifetime membership. Sign up if you're not a member. We got some new members yesterday. Thank you so much for joining. It's, you know, it's how we fund this thing fundamentally, outside of sponsorship.
[00:01:09] And sponsorship, as the economy sort of tightens up, everybody's money tightens up. I know yours too, that's why I ran the promo code. That's why I said let's cut 25% off membership, you know what I mean? Because people want this, but they may not have the money, you know what I mean? Or a discount might give them the push to say, let's go for it. So thank you all for joining you new members out there.
[00:01:37] Go to the website pbnfamily.com, use the promo code B2 and become a member, annual or lifetime. You know, if you want to buy once, cry once, it's the lifetime. But if you want a great deal on annual, we're talking about 45 bucks for the year, man. You know, it don't get much better than that. I was talking to Paul Valone this morning. He teaches a great course at Prepper Camp each year called Winning Against Woke or something to that effect, you know, winning elections.
[00:02:06] Very political. And this day and age with prepping and survival, I see a lot of people who try to get around the political. You know what I mean? I see a lot of people who want content created in the prepping world that resonates with all possible audiences. No politics allowed. Just tell me how to purify the water.
[00:02:31] And I'd be lying if I, you know, there's a still small voice in my head that always wonders what would it have been like if we took a little more of a bipartisan... I can't even really articulate it, to be honest with you. It's not who we are. But I do think about it from time to time and wonder what would it be like if PBN were less political. And talking to Paul Valone was a great reminder because everything is politics.
[00:03:02] Not only that, his was a reminder particularly about the Second Amendment because he's done great things to protect our Second Amendment rights. His was a reminder that prepping is politics. You don't, like, you can't take the prepping out of politics. And almost every one of you out there listening has experienced something along those lines. Some kind of proof about that fact, right?
[00:03:28] So every one of you out there has read a story about a city or a state. Has read a story about an elected official, so on and so forth, who has directly affected a person's ability to prep. 100%, right? It is politics that decides what variation of your Second Amendment right you're allowed to execute upon. Unfortunately. But that's the reality, right?
[00:03:55] Politics decides what guns you can carry, what guns you can buy, what guns you can store in your state. That's what politics is. A lot of time politicians decide and lawmakers decide if you can attach a rain barrel to your house. Can you attach a rain barrel to the front of your house and store water? Right? A lot of times it's elected officials or city councils or something along those lines that gather together to decide. Or are pressed by the citizenry to decide.
[00:04:25] Can we keep those backyard chickens? We want a half dozen backyard chickens. That's what we want. We don't want an egg factory. Nobody's going to have an egg factory. We're not going to have roosters in these suburbs. But a lot of times it comes down to politics. And, you know, the biggest political rally that I was ever a part of, well, the second biggest political rally I was ever a part of was all politics and my gun rights.
[00:04:49] And in a way it started to piss me off a little bit because I started thinking, you know, there are a lot of content creators and a lot of people putting content out there trying to walk the fuzzy sort of neither warm nor hot sort of spew you out of my mouth path with preparedness. Right? Like this idea that, yeah, sure, you can get prepared and politics has nothing to do with it. Lawmakers have nothing to do with it.
[00:05:17] Your federal government has nothing to do with your preparedness. And sometimes it's even a message of great hope, right? There are things that you can affect and things that you can't affect. But at the end of the day, I think you should definitely understand, like you can't affect the next move the U.S. Army is going to make, but you can definitely affect elections in your area.
[00:05:42] And elections in your area most definitely have an effect on your ability to prepare and how you prepare. Particularly if you're in a densely populated area, even more particularly if you're in a purplish state. Do you know what I mean? So, I don't know, it was really eye-opening talking to him. And, you know, it's so important to be able to talk to people.
[00:06:08] You live largely, and it's not my fault, but you largely have a one-sided relationship with me because you listen to my podcast. And the other hosts here at PBN. We are very open to communication. So, you know, if you ever want to get down and dirty, it's fine. Just send us an email through the contact form or at prepperbroadcasting.com, PBNfamily.com.
[00:06:38] I'd love to hear from you guys. I got some really encouraging emails over the last few days. And, you know, it always, when you're doing what we do, there's no better compliment than, you know, everything has changed. Or we have made great changes or great strides in our life from listening to PBN. And most of the emails, that's what they read. You know what I mean? That's the distilled version of them.
[00:07:04] So, you know, we don't have to live the one-sided sort of life with each other. It's not that big a deal. I'm certainly not bogged down by work and family and incoming emails enough that I won't return your email. Because it is so valuable to bounce those ideas off people, you know? You live in the normalcy bias of your cell phone and maybe your computer or something along those lines.
[00:07:30] And it really helps to hear from someone who's not only just your average person, you know? Because I feel like your average person plays a game where they're trying to appease you and keep you happy as much as they are trying to talk to you. You know what I mean? It's like you're my neighbor or you're my coworker or whatever it is. And I've got to make sure this relationship is okay and all that kind of stuff. So I'm going to read you and listen and, you know, do the things I'm supposed to do.
[00:07:57] But when you can really have a long conversation, you get through all that weird stuff. Or a nice long email. You get through. There's none of that weird stuff in an email. Because you don't have to worry about the person's reaction in real time. Community, folks. Community. The many aspects of community. They're powerful. And they sharpen you up. You know? They sharpen you up. There's no doubt about it.
[00:08:27] Something new is on the horizon. I know. There's always new on the horizon. With all these new things on the horizon, it's one of the other reasons why I'm going to pair back on the video podcasting. So it's just the things that really make the difference aren't happening on video on YouTube. You know what I'm saying? Like this weekend, starting Friday, right? 72-hour fast. Who's in? Who's in for the 72-hour fast? Who wants to feel what that feels like?
[00:08:56] Who wants to go down that path? Who wants to test their might? Test their willpower in doing something that costs zero dollars and zero cents? Actually, you make money when you fast, funny enough. Don't believe me? Calculate the amount of food you eat and the money spent over the weekend if you don't do the fast. And then consider how much money we who are not eating have made. You know what I mean? But it's not about that. It's hardly about the money. It's about health. And it's about willpower.
[00:09:24] And it's about really understanding your body for what it is. Understanding your humanity. Knowing that, oh, if I don't eat breakfast, I'll live. I can live to lunch. Oh, I can even live past dinner. I can live past 24 hours. I can live past 48 hours. You know what I mean? And getting a better understanding of what it is you're capable of. The other big thing that's coming down the pike today is, well, it might happen today.
[00:09:53] I've got a little cardboard box on my kitchen table right now. And it was sent to me by the guys at Mark 37. And it is a ghost phone. And what I want to do for you guys, this is not going to be members only. This is going to be for everybody. We're going to do the ghost phone journey together. Okay? We're going to do it together. You're going to watch it. I'm going to be 100% transparent. This is working. This ain't working. This will work. This won't work.
[00:10:20] We're going to take a very careful approach to setting this phone up. Putting the things on it I need to operate my life. And then having it become my cell phone. You know what I mean? And for those of you who don't know, a ghost phone is just basically a phone that has been de-googled. Right? Or wiped of its operating system.
[00:10:44] It's tracking devices that watch everything you do and record everything you do and sell everything you do and all that. But it really is sort of taking full advantage of all the great technology that is, you know, the cell phone. And being able to use it in a way that is way more independent of big tech. Well, completely independent of tech. We'll be running an operating system called Graphene. And I'll be learning about that. All those kinds of things.
[00:11:15] And what I really want to find out, guys, is this viable? Is this a thing that you can do? I'm going to use it no matter what. Even if it's a hurdle to my everyday life. Because I already have a plan on how to take advantage of it one way or the other. To make it viable. But what I'm trying to figure out is, are there flaming hoops to jump through and how many? What's the average person going to do? Are they going to take advantage of this?
[00:11:40] I kind of know the answer because it's only getting worse. It's only going to get worse. The things that Google demands and the information, you know what I mean? And all that. But we're going to walk through that step by step. And I think it's going to be a great time. All right. I'm getting out of here, folks. I've got another Prepper Camp interview on the horizon here with Andrew Harrington from Big Pig Outdoors. Good friend from Prepper Camp also. So these are fun. These are fun.
[00:12:10] I mean, I wouldn't mind doing this every year, to be honest with you, just to connect with everybody before I wind up at Prepper Camp. It's kind of fun. But he's a good guy. I worked with him on a consultation basis years ago. He's cool. So look forward to it. All right. The summer is here. Don't shy away from the heat. Enjoy it. Stay safe. Right. It's a good time to think about what you're going to do to stay cool when the backup power goes out. When the power goes out. Right.
[00:12:37] What do you do when it's 100 and 1,000 degrees out and the power goes out. Right. You've got to start shucking and jiving. You better have some USB powered fans. You better have a backup power solution. You're not going to power your heat pump and your air conditioner, most likely, unless you have a really big system. So you're going to have to think.
[00:12:59] You know, probably one of the quickest and easiest solutions, especially if it's a short-term power outage, like from a storm, is go somewhere for the day. You know what I mean? You go somewhere. Take the kids to the theme park. Take the kids to the library. Take family to the gym. Whatever the situation is. You know what I mean? Go to a place that ain't out of power. Go rent a cheap hotel and play in their pool. Whatever.
[00:13:29] Have a plan. You know, that's emergency fund stuff. That's evacuation stuff. It doesn't have to be a hurricane for you to execute on that evacuation plan. All right, folks.
