[00:00:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome back to the Changing Earth Podcast with author Sarah F. Hathaway and co-host Chen Gibson.
[00:00:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Blending survival, fiction and fact to bring you entertaining education that will help
[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_00]: you dream, survive and thrive.
[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: And now here's your host, Sarah F. Hathaway and Chen Gibson.
[00:00:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Chapter 38.
[00:00:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole made quick work of building an adequate base for the mercenary force in the remains of Reno.
[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_05]: During the next eight years, his team scoured the remains of California and Nevada, looking for survivors.
[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_05]: The northern states of what remained of Oregon and Washington had been quiet, so the focus on the south became the priority.
[00:00:53] [SPEAKER_05]: However, the new coastline in California provided challenges that Dolores had warned him about.
[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole took a bottle of pills from his pocket and shook it.
[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_05]: He scowled at the limited contents, watching a drop of rain hit it.
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_05]: There was another, and then another.
[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe fretted, declaring, major, we have to get our teams out of this rain.
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole commanded, watching the drops fall faster and faster, chat me, get out the map.
[00:01:21] [SPEAKER_05]: A soldier in front of Chappy stepped closer so his backpack was easily accessible, and Chappy pulled a map from it.
[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_05]: He studied it for a minute, declaring, there's a town on the map five miles south of here, sir.
[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Another soldier looked at Cole nervously asking, what's the plan?
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Knowing the rain presented a significant threat.
[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Virges directed, get out the tarps, walking groups five box formation with one in the middle.
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Rotate that soldier, the tarps should keep the rain off us until we reach that town.
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes sir, his team replied.
[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe tucked in close to Cole whispering, hopefully there's fresh water to wash off with.
[00:02:02] [SPEAKER_05]: We'll have to turn back after the storm passes, we're running low on iodine.
[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_05]: And we'll need more now, Chappy added.
[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Hearing the rattle of the Geiger counter, Virges inquired, what's it say private?
[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Jessup looked concerned, replying. We're approaching unsafe levels, sir, over its rattling noise.
[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Shit! We gotta get to that town now, Cole commanded, stepping up the pace.
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I want reports of any bleeding from your mouth or nose.
[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's move Alpha team Monroe told the men, urging them forward rapidly.
[00:02:35] [SPEAKER_05]: The men's footsteps stomped loudly in the shroud of rain as they trudged forward.
[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_05]: The rain was relentless and the intensity increased again as the wind started to blow.
[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_05]: The Geiger counters started racing and chirping a warning.
[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_05]: Major Virges, we got a big problem here Jessup warned.
[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole scanned his men noticing one soldier starting to bleed from his nose.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_05]: We've got a bleeder, we have to find shelter now sir, Chappy added.
[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe get behind those binoculars, there has to be somewhere we can go.
[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole stated looking out into the fog.
[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe looked through the binoculars scanning the horizon.
[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_05]: I've got a house spotted at seven o'clock. Doesn't look very big though.
[00:03:16] [SPEAKER_05]: Anything will do, Cole concurred, rapidly directing his men toward the building.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Hap-hazardly they stacked up at the front and back doors.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_05]: No signs of life sir Monroe reported as he approached.
[00:03:29] [SPEAKER_05]: The back is clear too sir, Chappy added, walking back to the men.
[00:03:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Chappy take your team and breach the back.
[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe you and Jessup clear the front, Cole commanded.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Allowing time for Chappy to get in position, the men breach the door and spread out once inside.
[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_05]: It's clear sir, Jessup declared returning from the stairs.
[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Press forward Monroe directed.
[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_05]: The men slowly slunk across the lower level while Cole stood assessing the cabin.
[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Walking towards the dining room, Chappy's team approached.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_05]: We're clear from the back sir, Chappy confirmed.
[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Jessup alerted as something moving in the room behind Cole.
[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Did you see that he asked nervously.
[00:04:09] [SPEAKER_05]: The men readied their weapons again, peering back into the room.
[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Move in, Cole whispered quietly.
[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_05]: They slowly re-entered the sitting room, checking the bedrooms down the hall.
[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Confirming there was no one there, Cole assured Jessup.
[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_05]: There's nothing here private.
[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I swear I saw something sir Jessup insisted.
[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_05]: What did it look like Monroe wondering, humoring the young private?
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_05]: It was small with long white hair.
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_05]: There was nothing there Cole said dismissing the private.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_05]: He was more concerned with ensuring his men didn't get radiation poisoning.
[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Maybe it was a ghost.
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_05]: I heard about hauntings in the radiation zones.
[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_05]: People all blistered and sickly coming back to life.
[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Chappy teased wrapping an arm affectionately around Jessup.
[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_05]: That's not a ghost.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a zombie dumbass Monroe teased playfully.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Flustered by their suggestions Jessup insisted.
[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I didn't see either of those things.
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm telling you it was like a little girl with white hair.
[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Proturbed by the distraction Cole snapped let's worry about getting washed off so we don't end up zombies ourselves.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Go back and see if the shower works private.
[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes sir Jessup agreed.
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Disgruntled he huffed as he left down the hallway.
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_05]: We got nothing sir.
[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Chappy checked the kitchen Cole said nodding his head toward the room.
[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Sure thing sir he walked away quickly declaring we got a hand pump sir.
[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_05]: The sound of the metal squeaking with activity was followed by the sound of flowing water and it looks like we're in business.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Returning to the team under the porch out front the major told them go out in the breezeway and get ready for radiation scrub down.
[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Receiving positive responses from the men Cole returned to Chappy in the kitchen.
[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_05]: You got sponges?
[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes sir and I already put two buckets of water in the breezeway Chappy assured him.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Private Jessup and Whitmer you're on water transfer get cleaned up with the water Chappy already brought Cole commanded heading out to wash himself off.
[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes sir they responded empty in the used buckets and filling new ones.
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_05]: The men stripped off their clothes and scrubbed each other.
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Sir you got some sluff and skin Chappy commented as he hoped Cole with his back.
[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_05]: You feeling okay?
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm good we'll keep an eye on it and that goes for everyone Cole commanded.
[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_05]: If you have any bloody stool ulcers in your mouth or throat fever or fatigue I need to hear about it do you understand?
[00:06:41] [SPEAKER_05]: The soldiers replied affirmatively Jessup hustled off to get more water.
[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_05]: He came back quickly major you're gonna want to see this sir.
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_05]: He led Cole back to the sitting room with Monroe and Chappy.
[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_05]: He pointed out a small hatch on the floor.
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Looks like a hidden hatch to me Monroe declared affectionately looking at Jessup.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Feeling vindicated Jessup smiled informing them.
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_05]: This wardrobe was on top of it we would have never seen it if we didn't move it.
[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: If the wardrobe was on top of it how did they get in it Cole wondered walking over to examine the piece of furniture.
[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_05]: He slid out the drawers on the side and opened the door where the clothing hung.
[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_05]: He smiled slightly declaring I see they cut the floor out he pulled up on the floor of it and it quickly slid out.
[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe let's breach the hatch yes sir breach team front and center Monroe directed waiting for the men to take their position.
[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Monroe opened the hatch revealing a ladder that descended into darkness Monroe looked at Cole and shrugged.
[00:07:42] [SPEAKER_05]: Cole motion for Monroe to descend and the other men to cover him slowly Monroe descended into the darkness with a flashlight in his rifle.
[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_05]: What's down there Cole asked as he reached the bottom the private's ghost is a little girl no one else sir and there's not much space down here.
[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Bring her up Cole commanded sign with relief.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_05]: The girl ascended the ladder with Monroe but wouldn't speak to them confirming with a knot of her head that her parents were dead.
[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_05]: The men waited out the storm and returned home as soon as it cleared.

[00:11:48] [SPEAKER_05]: So you gotta give me a little pump up those were some those were some intense buildouts I'll just say for the end of the year.
[00:11:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah great.
[00:11:58] [SPEAKER_04]: You're talking to a guy that is listen to each season multiple times.
[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_04]: And wow all I can say is PBN family if you've been listening you strap on your seat belt because this is this is going to blow your mind.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_04]: This is amazing.
[00:12:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah they're really they're really really good up in the well I've been happy with this whole season but now like the music is going 3.0 you know and I'll be so excited I can't wait to hear how you guys love the finale it's it's a long show but well worth it and so yeah.
[00:12:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah it comes to a crescendo.
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes sir.
[00:12:51] [SPEAKER_05]: We're getting there.
[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_05]: I'll say about that and then I actually have season four written so that is where they don't you know it's just a matter of putting together a lot of audio.
[00:13:08] [SPEAKER_05]: So the blooper show was last week.
[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_05]: It was really funny if you haven't listened to it it was pretty funny.
[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_05]: I got to pick on Doug a little bit so I always enjoy that.
[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Doug is awesome.
[00:13:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He is.
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_04]: PBN family if you don't get enough of Doug you can hear him on Tuesdays with the old shoe what's the name of his show I'm drawn upon.
[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm blanking too.
[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_04]: The dog show.
[00:13:38] [SPEAKER_06]: It's a great show.
[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_06]: I mean it should just be called the dog show.
[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_06]: He brings the energy man.
[00:13:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Reality check I'm yeah you know a flashback to Michael Klein.
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh got you.
[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah no I can't remember that but he'll be at proper camp again he's gonna be teaching him have his booth.
[00:13:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh yeah it's good.
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_06]: What is the Republic it's something rising Republic rising Republic yeah yeah.
[00:14:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Takes all three of us to get the show.
[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Sorry Doug we love you.
[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah don't crack that whip right just leave Sheila at home.
[00:14:21] [SPEAKER_04]: So if he did the sudden death he played there it was like a two part show where he played the audio from the sudden death that was fantastic.
[00:14:34] [SPEAKER_04]: This guy is on topic.
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God weekly weekly.
[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Right he's so intelligent and such an artist on top of that.
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:14:45] [SPEAKER_05]: And then you know perfect perfect TJ character even though that's not his character like at all but he does a great job.
[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Now I gotta tell you I can listen to him and get the you know the Doug Hogan I can get that right but verse.
[00:15:04] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm thinking Virges.
[00:15:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_04]: If I listen to Phil I'm thinking Virges all the time.
[00:15:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't know why that is.
[00:15:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Except guys.
[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_05]: James's performance in like episode.
[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Like 1112.
[00:15:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah was that off the chart or what when he goes positive I don't want to give any of you.
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't want to give any spoilers but he goes off the rail.
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes.
[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_05]: I was just like dude you just smoke that like oh and I think he was channeling.
[00:15:44] [SPEAKER_05]: I know I think he said what if he's like you you just have a way of like picking the right people to be the right character you know and I was like I don't know man you just you just so I mean you're I just was wanted to cry just listening to his audience.
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah you know I just couldn't help enjoying the video before I even like put it in the context was really not really good stuff.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, everybody's stepping up so season four you know it's going to be just oh goodness there is so much stuff coming now like the floodgates are opening on the story now it's going to be fast and furious because you know I like the action so.
[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, you know in real life if this actually happened the cream will rise to the top
[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and and those people
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Will have to deal with each other
[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Eventually right and and that is true. That is
[00:16:48] [SPEAKER_05]: That's why I thought it'd be fun to do like the individual
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Character lines and then so you knew their backdrops and then like slowly their worlds collide together
[00:17:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah was a fun setup
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, so
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Virgis his storyline. We know I wrote the book from his storyline. So they're down south
[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Doing roundups down there, but this is an area where?
[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_05]: There is a nuclear power plant. It's no longer active in Southern California, but they still store the rods there and
[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Dave you correct me if I'm wrong
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_05]: But that is a threat in a post apocalyptic world because you can't keep them cool, right?
[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Right, right so everybody who's like well
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_05]: We live by this area where they store nuclear stuff, but it's not actually a nuclear power plant
[00:17:44] [SPEAKER_05]: You gotta know about that as well and where the wind's gonna blow correct
[00:17:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Absolutely now look in
[00:17:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Sarah's scenario
[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Every one of the nuclear power plants will melt down
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So
[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You know in different scenarios different things happen
[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, if you could shut them down they'll shut them down but in Sarah's scenario about the world
[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Every nuclear power plant on the planet
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_04]: will melt down and
[00:18:26] [SPEAKER_05]: This is good. I literally have my map of my world and I dotted out where all the nuclear power plants were
[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_05]: So I knew my if my characters were gonna be in that area
[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes because that is that that's fantastic because
[00:18:43] [SPEAKER_04]: You know in a nuclear meltdown. It's not like a bomb
[00:18:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so it won't go high up into the stratosphere and be traveling
[00:18:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it doesn't have the force or the explosion, but it is a meltdown and in a meltdown
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_04]: The rods get hotter and hotter and hotter until they burn through their container and
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Eventually make it to the groundwater and
[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_04]: the heat from that hitting the groundwater
[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Causes an explosion and that explosion is what spews
[00:19:25] [SPEAKER_04]: the the radiation
[00:19:27] [SPEAKER_05]: around
[00:19:29] [SPEAKER_04]: yes around and
[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It will be carried by the wind as far up as it goes and
[00:19:37] [SPEAKER_04]: it will be
[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it'll be like Chernobyl
[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Right and it can carry it can go in the rain, right? I mean it can literally rain down on you
[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_04]: We yeah, and and when the rain washes it from the atmosphere
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_04]: it will make these little radioactive puddles and
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Streams and things like that because if it rains right after that hits
[00:20:04] [SPEAKER_04]: You're gonna have that kind of contamination. Think about little fine
[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_04]: particles
[00:20:11] [SPEAKER_04]: That are spewing in the atmosphere and then washed away by rain. It's it's like
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Radioactive blood vessels
[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_04]: All over the
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Strably yeah, uh-huh you you could cross them
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You know you could be fine one second and
[00:20:34] [SPEAKER_04]: radioactive the next second
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that's that's and then how would you know like besides a giger?
[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_05]: Right, right. How would you know that like you've been exposed to this?
[00:20:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and that's another thing that I like about your scenario because
[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything should still work the the electronics the you know everything that you had before
[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_04]: The earth shifted right?
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Will still work so you can detect this, you know the technology that you're talking about in your episodes
[00:21:16] [SPEAKER_04]: We'll still function
[00:21:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Right like the Geiger counters and all that are gonna work
[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well you talked about an MRI if you have enough
[00:21:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep power. Yeah, if you have it you can generate enough power. Yeah, you can make that thing still work
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not fried like in an EMP effect. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Yeah
[00:21:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's just infrastructure was just severely crushed and then because we couldn't communicate with satellites
[00:21:46] [SPEAKER_05]: They went off course and started hitting each other's like it really got screwed up and to build all that back would be
[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Extreme it would take a long time, you know. Oh, absolutely. Yeah, and and a lot of men
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, that's why that's what everybody's like really with an earthquake. I'm like, okay
[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Have you seen how many prophecies have like we're going to have the mega quake?
[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_05]: And do you know what would happen? Like if everything just collapsed around you and
[00:22:14] [SPEAKER_05]: What it's gonna take time to build that back up in the meantime people got to eat
[00:22:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and and in your scenario
[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Everybody is affected. Mm-hmm. There's no it the only thing is some people are affected less
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Right than others, you know, everybody is affected
[00:22:34] [SPEAKER_04]: everybody has to deal with the situation that they got and
[00:22:40] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no help coming from somewhere else, you know in a normal earthquake
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Help comes from outside to the zone mm-hmm zone, right and
[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Every place is the zone. So yeah, yeah, so if there was an amp II
[00:23:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes, does that take out or a CME would that take out Geiger's unless you had them in a Faraday?
[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
[00:23:10] [SPEAKER_04]: It would depends on it's very kid. You miss. Okay
[00:23:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Wait, you know
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_04]: There's a lot of variables
[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So to say harden fast. Oh, this is gonna break. This is not gonna break
[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_05]: It might be something that you want to have in your Faraday though instead of like just in your go-bag or something
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, if you have a Geiger counter it only has one function, right?
[00:23:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Work after so you definitely want that in a Faraday cage
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Fair enough. I like that. I
[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Never even thought about it until you just said it out loud
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, oh, yeah, that wouldn't make perfect sense because if your technology gets zapped
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Then you're not even gonna be able to detect it until you're like bleeding from your nose because you're in radiation
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep
[00:24:02] [SPEAKER_05]: for the body
[00:24:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Is there like a point of no return obviously there's got to be a point in no return of like where you've had
[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Like you're you know, we're older
[00:24:13] [SPEAKER_05]: So we're not really worried about thyroid cancer in 40 years, you know, whatever, right?
[00:24:19] [SPEAKER_05]: But like you and I are traveling along
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Is there a point for us? Like how would you know like oh my gosh?
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We have to get out of here without a Geiger counter, right? Yeah. Yeah
[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_05]: Or our body will never be able to recover from this
[00:24:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, there's a couple things there first of all anybody listening to this that just tuned in
[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Get the book from
[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_04]: BBN it's free. It's 20 pages
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Nuclear war prepared not scared if you get that book you will be
[00:24:58] [SPEAKER_04]: my
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_04]: 99% ahead of everybody else in the United States, so it's a PDF
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_04]: You don't even have to put your email in there. It's a free book that we did
[00:25:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Right after Russia invaded Ukraine and everybody who's worried about nuclear war and
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And there's a lot of things in there that tell you about fallout and all that kind of stuff get that book
[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, your class was phenomenal as well like I was like, I don't really want to deal with that topic
[00:25:34] [SPEAKER_05]: And you just you know, you're just a natural teacher. You just put it in reality and take that fear away
[00:25:40] [SPEAKER_05]: It's like oh, okay. Yeah, there is stuff we can do
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah, there there is lots we can do and
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So you were saying about the EMP
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_04]: So it's it's not a hardened fast rule because
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Anything can shield something, you know from the blast. Okay, so when the
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_04]: CME the difference between a
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_04]: nuclear
[00:26:09] [SPEAKER_04]: blast and the Sun is
[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_04]: an EMP from a nuclear blast will be like boom and then
[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_04]: With the Sun it's more like a wave or a sheet
[00:26:23] [SPEAKER_04]: That will go over the planet
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Over a period of time and explode things. Yes. Yes
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Transformers will take in too much electricity and blow up
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it's super charges the atmosphere
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_04]: very fine
[00:26:45] [SPEAKER_04]: electronics like your watch and
[00:26:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Computers and very very fine. They're just and
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_04]: When I give my class I say we just become Amish overnight. Yeah, right, right
[00:27:04] [SPEAKER_04]: But I have threatened Maria several times to go full on me Sean
[00:27:11] Oh
[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, no, no, I am not sure what she thinks I mean
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_05]: She actually she probably do pretty well. She's pretty save my lady. That's for sure
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, yes, she went to the well to get her water in a bucket and
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_04]: You had to put the bucket down in the well
[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_04]: There was no electric bringing it up from the way like pumping it. Yeah, or the pump
[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, not even a hand pump
[00:27:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Right and you know what I I found the interesting about that is they have buckets
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_04]: That have a one-way valve on the bottom of the bucket
[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_04]: This is this is something you'll learn because when you have a technology bucket for
[00:28:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_04]: When you drop a bucket in a well, it's gonna float it's a boat. Oh fair enough. Uh-huh. Yeah, how do you get it?
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes, so that little valve there is held in place by leather and there's a seal and
[00:28:23] [SPEAKER_04]: And when you drop it in it will sink slowly
[00:28:26] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you can crank it up and then the valve closes as you crank it up
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_04]: And you can get your water out of a well crazy
[00:28:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, no
[00:28:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay on the water topic. What do you do if you are exposed because I know water is involved in this it?
[00:28:45] [SPEAKER_05]: Is there any like other than just rinsing with water?
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Is there anything like that you should be doing like all painting yourself with iodine or whatever?
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_04]: No
[00:28:56] [SPEAKER_04]: and and yes, you you need to clean with soap and water because
[00:29:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Radiation and particles
[00:29:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Will stick to your skin your hair you need to scrub
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's that's the decontamination process
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_04]: So if you can scrub yourself with soap and water
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_04]: You can effectively decontaminate yourself from radiation. Okay?
[00:29:27] [SPEAKER_04]: The thing is
[00:29:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Can you detect it after you've done deep?
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Contaminating right that that is the thing now if you can
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Watch for rashes
[00:29:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, form. Okay, so that's exposure right next to the skin
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_04]: That the really bad thing is if you inhale it or eat it
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Because then you can't wash it off. It's in your system and it's gonna do the damage until it comes out the other end and
[00:30:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Radioactive poop
[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's bad so
[00:30:11] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, that's why you put particle masks on
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why you protect your eyes and your ears and any orifice
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:30:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Because if you're if you know, you're gonna go through a contaminated area or
[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Radiation is likely you want to put that mask on so you don't breathe it in you don't swallow it
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't go in your nose and lodge in your nose hairs
[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You you want to do that protective measure and then your eyes your ears and and I tell people
[00:30:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You could put a plastic bag over your head
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, a shopping
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You look stupid
[00:31:01] [SPEAKER_05]: You'll live yeah, and don't make it too tight. Yeah
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Crazy in the the main thing that you got to do is think if you think you can solve the problem
[00:31:17] [SPEAKER_04]: And that that is the whole sense of prepping is
[00:31:22] [SPEAKER_04]: We are problem solvers
[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Right, and if you take the time to wait I'm gonna can cross this area. It may be contaminated
[00:31:34] [SPEAKER_04]: This is what I need to do
[00:31:36] [SPEAKER_04]: until I get to the other side and
[00:31:40] [SPEAKER_04]: You can do it
[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I would say my characters fail as far as getting ready to go into the radiation zone
[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_05]: They're just like having a Sunday stroll
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_06]: So they just look for bloody noses. Yeah and bleeding gums
[00:31:57] [SPEAKER_04]: well now
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_04]: One of the symptoms is nausea and that will come very quick even people that go through
[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Radiation therapy
[00:32:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Have it. Oh, yeah. Yeah fair enough. Yeah, if you go through the symptoms
[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah of chemo radiation therapy
[00:32:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Hair loss all that kind of stuff. That's radiation exposure. Mm-hmm
[00:32:27] [SPEAKER_05]: That's why they're all bald guys in my stories Talania
[00:32:33] Oh
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Best shelter so you're out there in a yeah best shelter going underground
[00:32:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that the best shelter is to get more
[00:32:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Distance between you and the radiation as possible and
[00:32:56] [SPEAKER_04]: And I like to tell people even air is
[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_04]: protection
[00:33:02] [SPEAKER_04]: so if you have a house and
[00:33:06] [SPEAKER_04]: One quarter of it is completely underground
[00:33:10] [SPEAKER_04]: You want to get it in the back?
[00:33:12] [SPEAKER_04]: furthest most
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Low spot
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you can't in that house because even the distance
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Puts down the radiation do the particles like to sink
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Well
[00:33:29] [SPEAKER_04]: They they will go like any other dirt particle. Okay, so if if if you have water if you have rain
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_04]: It's gonna follow the rain. It's gonna go to the lowest possible part now. It's not gonna go through
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_04]: You're concrete
[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly and and as for your soil
[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_04]: You know maybe six inches maybe eight inches I think about a real dirt particle
[00:33:59] [SPEAKER_04]: It's not gonna penetrate, you know, I had a guy he says
[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, I heard that you have to scrape six inches of topsoil off before you plant there and my answer to him was
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't plant there
[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Fair enough
[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Else
[00:34:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Don't don't even chance it right you know what I mean
[00:34:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, what if was like the whole property though? You're gonna go new property
[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, I think if your property is contaminated
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_04]: You may have to think hard about relocating. Oh, you're gonna end up in a rap camp
[00:34:41] [SPEAKER_05]: or the FEMA camp I
[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Call them rap games for Holly. Yeah, that
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_05]: That would be bad. Yeah that Hollywood for some reason doesn't want me calling them FEMA camps
[00:34:53] [SPEAKER_05]: so
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Really? Yeah, because we're picking on a actual institution
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_05]: It's better if you create a fictional name. So I call the refugee assistance programs
[00:35:05] [SPEAKER_04]: There you go
[00:35:08] [SPEAKER_04]: The rap camp yeah, yeah
[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_05]: So I get a little crisscross now, I'm writing too many different scripts at once
[00:35:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, and then
[00:35:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, we kind of touched on it because my next question was gonna be like the likely sources for radiation contamination
[00:35:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Post collapse that like people might not think of because people are always just like oh the bomb
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, like here in Texas with the wildfires, right?
[00:35:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, there's a plant that I've heard both that they assemble nuclear weapons there or disassemble
[00:35:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Nuclear weapons there probably they do both. But anyway, they're handling, you know nuclear materials there
[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_05]: How many people in that local area really put two and two together that like oh?
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_05]: They're dealing with nuclear material there if we had a long-term power outage or wildfire that hit this facility
[00:36:03] [SPEAKER_05]: What's gonna happen to that material?
[00:36:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, well well know that it has to be spread in a
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Way, you know there has to be some kind of an explosion
[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Exactly because the contamination, you know
[00:36:27] [SPEAKER_04]: What was it East Palestine were you affected by that?
[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_04]: No
[00:36:33] No
[00:36:34] [SPEAKER_05]: No, or I wasn't here at the time
[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Neither was I I'm not I'm not very far from Palestine from or from well Palestine. They call it here
[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so
[00:36:47] [SPEAKER_04]: It has to be something that's gonna project it into the atmosphere to get it to contaminate a large area
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Now there's gonna be lots of
[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_04]: local
[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Contaminated areas and if you have to cross them
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_04]: then you have to make a decision to go around or go through and
[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_04]: That's really when you got to start thinking about
[00:37:16] [SPEAKER_04]: protection or
[00:37:18] [SPEAKER_04]: You know
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Can we protect ourselves enough to make it through this area?
[00:37:23] [SPEAKER_05]: What's the severity, you know the reasonings the rationales for going through there?
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, that makes sense and my suggestion is if it is a total unknown
[00:37:35] [SPEAKER_04]: like you get to an edge in an area and you're
[00:37:40] [SPEAKER_04]: detecting some type of radiation
[00:37:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Go around
[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Right, you're you don't know what you're getting into and you could cross right over
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_04]: What would be considered ground zero and
[00:37:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Right like you don't know when you just start detecting it. You don't know if in five feet
[00:38:01] [SPEAKER_05]: It's gonna be triple quadruple and how deep you're getting into things. Yeah. Yeah
[00:38:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, that makes sense. I like crossing a river. How deep is it?
[00:38:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly you cross a river when it's the worst and the most, you know treacherous
[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, treacherous exactly. No, you find a better place
[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah fair enough if you're already on the move
[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_05]: You're already on the move so
[00:38:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, might as well just go around
[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_05]: all right, so
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Thank you for bringing the nuclear discussion. I I wrote that um
[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_05]: I always do a lot of research before I write things and then I learn a ton more after I write things
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's very cool experience. So I appreciate that
[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_05]: um, but you just did an article on
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_05]: how to detect uh
[00:38:55] [SPEAKER_05]: impersonating police officer
[00:38:57] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, a fake cap and so I'm interested in that because you know, I teach a lot of self-defense. So
[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so uh, this came out of the clear blue, you know, james
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_04]: professional writer
[00:39:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Someone contacted him and he said well, I have a friend that
[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_04]: It has more experience with this
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And maybe you might want to contact him now
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I have been a state police officer a federal police officer and a local police officer
[00:39:29] [SPEAKER_04]: So I have over a thousand hours of police academy training
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_04]: And I was caught for like eight years all total different different organizations different things
[00:39:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Um, and they asked me is there anything you haven't done Dave
[00:39:49] [SPEAKER_05]: I'm just so blown away every time we talk. I'm like, wow, you did that too. I'm crazy
[00:39:56] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I'm sorry go ahead
[00:39:58] [SPEAKER_04]: No, no, you know that that is exactly what one of my students said the other day
[00:40:04] [SPEAKER_04]: just
[00:40:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I referenced it back to something that I did and they said is there anything you haven't done
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, wow, okay
[00:40:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Doing that too. That sounds awesome
[00:40:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, so I have a I have a particular, uh
[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Very particular set of skills
[00:40:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh
[00:40:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, when they reached out to me. I said, yeah, I would break it down into different sections
[00:40:37] [SPEAKER_04]: You know equipment
[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, she should pull up the article
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_04]: um
[00:40:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Let me just wing it. Okay. Yeah, because uh, you know equipment first of all, uh
[00:40:52] [SPEAKER_04]: If they if the lights are flashing and they pull you over, okay
[00:40:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Red is reserved
[00:41:02] [SPEAKER_04]: specifically for emergency vehicles
[00:41:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So blue yellow green
[00:41:09] [SPEAKER_04]: All those can be used by other
[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Things but
[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_04]: red
[00:41:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Is in an emergency vehicle. So if they're using a red light
[00:41:20] [SPEAKER_04]: it is
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh an emergency vehicle and and that doesn't mean that they can't buy a red light you can buy a red light
[00:41:28] [SPEAKER_04]: They're just breaking the law
[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay. Mm-hmm
[00:41:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And and another breaking the law anyway, so
[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yeah, right. You know when they when they first reached out to me I I really started to uh
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_04]: think about
[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_04]: how
[00:41:47] [SPEAKER_04]: This person's psyche works. Okay, because
[00:41:53] [SPEAKER_04]: There is a particular type of and they exist
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_04]: This is true now. How how many there are
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_04]: I have run across two in my lifetime
[00:42:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_04]: How frequently this happens? I don't know
[00:42:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But there are people out there that get off on pretending their cops
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_04]: and I
[00:42:21] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't understand it
[00:42:23] [SPEAKER_04]: but
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_04]: I want to I want to tell you like I tell my 16 year old daughter
[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, if the light
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Isn't red and he's showing blue and green or yellow or something like that
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_04]: That's not right
[00:42:43] [SPEAKER_04]: another thing
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Every police officer will flood
[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Your car with as much light as they can put in there
[00:42:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It will usually be one
[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_04]: or two spotlights
[00:42:59] And
[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_04]: supplemented by their own hand held big
[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_04]: You know massive yeah, yes that they hold
[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_04]: In the opposite hand
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_04]: That they draw with
[00:43:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh-huh
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: This person
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Wanted me to write the article. They said give us things that only police know
[00:43:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so I'm giving you things only police know yeah, they don't they are trained
[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_04]: To use the opposite hand with their flashlight and everything else when they hand you the ticket book
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_04]: They are gonna hand it to you
[00:43:42] [SPEAKER_04]: With their non-truiting hand
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, yep
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So so they put the light in the car if that light doesn't happen and then equipment wise, you know
[00:43:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh
[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_04]: I had access to more equipment than I could fit on my belt
[00:44:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, so
[00:44:06] [SPEAKER_04]: Man you always want if they step out of the car and the only thing they have on them
[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Is a sidearm
[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_04]: No, how are they gonna affect an arrest?
[00:44:20] [SPEAKER_04]: They need handcuffs
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_04]: You know if they don't have handcuffs tasers
[00:44:28] [SPEAKER_04]: mace
[00:44:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You know the cell phone holder the
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Body cam is the the magazine. They got to have at least two magazines. Yep out walkie talking
[00:44:42] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep
[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_05]: If they're not talking, yeah, usually it's on their collar or whatever. They have the yeah the little
[00:44:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Hand held one of that goes up high
[00:44:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Even in their car you can see them in their car if they're not calling this into dispatch
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_04]: That that's a red flag right there. They're not calling it to somewhere else
[00:45:04] [SPEAKER_04]: so
[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So then I I go on to uniform
[00:45:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:45:10] [SPEAKER_04]: If the guy gets out and all he has on is a uniform shirt and blue jeans
[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_05]: No
[00:45:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Because
[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_05]: It's casual friday. It's casual friday
[00:45:24] [SPEAKER_04]: There are no casual friday
[00:45:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Right, right. They have to have their uniform. Yeah
[00:45:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and a majority of the police officers that are out there
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Are former military. They take pride in their uniform with their gig lines and everything
[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Everything they will not be
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Unclean
[00:45:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Unshavin they will have a fresh haircut. They do have shorts now though
[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_04]: They do yeah
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Like especially the bike cops the ones that ride around on bicycles. Well the bike cops
[00:46:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, I mean we used to make fun of the bike cops
[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Their little helmets
[00:46:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_04]: So then then I go on to say and and one of the
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_04]: First things that you can
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_04]: See
[00:46:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And it comes from anybody that's ever been pulled over
[00:46:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Is demeanor?
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_04]: A cop has a specific demeanor
[00:46:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And and you can you can almost taste it
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh. Uh, yeah, it is a tone. It is a specific tone
[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_04]: They are setting right off the bat. Yeah, they know what they're doing
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_04]: If that guy comes up to you and he seems
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: unsure
[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_04]: confused
[00:46:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Maybe not right on
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You have to ask the question
[00:46:58] [SPEAKER_04]: How long have you been a police officer? Right? He's like hey, what up?
[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Now now I I put a personal anecdote in there at this point because
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_04]: I was uh fresh out of the academy where they train you that you are
[00:47:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Going to die
[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_04]: To shoot you every second of the day. Okay, so i'm on my first midnight shift
[00:47:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's like three o'clock in the morning. We go to the diner for lunch. It's the only diner that's open
[00:47:34] [SPEAKER_04]: and
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I go to the bathroom
[00:47:38] [SPEAKER_04]: And i'm i'm right at the urinal
[00:47:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Ready to do my business and the door opens behind me
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and then I
[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_04]: freeze
[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_04]: And the guy the guy comes up and he he does his business at the urinal next to me, but
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_04]: He is frozen too
[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Finally after a moment of court silence. He says
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Dang, I've never
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_04]: Pissed next to a state trooper and then I I turned to him and say I've never pissed as a state trooper
[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_07]: I
[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_07]: Nice
[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Then we talk and I tell him I'm just two weeks out of the academy
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You know and and it was a good conversation. Very funny, you know, I mean stage fright it happens. So
[00:48:35] [SPEAKER_04]: That's great. So that was that's part of the article and then uh
[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I I ended up with
[00:48:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, if you ever have any questions
[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you can ask to see id
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_05]: Yes
[00:48:55] [SPEAKER_04]: There is no police officer on the planet
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: That will object
[00:49:02] [SPEAKER_04]: To showing you his id because
[00:49:06] [SPEAKER_04]: They want you to know
[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_04]: That they have the authority to do what they're doing right now and to have no question in your mind
[00:49:16] [SPEAKER_04]: They keep their id
[00:49:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Front and center
[00:49:20] [SPEAKER_04]: They may have it on the top of the wallet or they may have a special id badge
[00:49:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Of wallet
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_04]: But they will show it to you. It will have a photo id
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_04]: It will have a date of issue. It will have a
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_04]: date of exploration
[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_04]: And and it will have the guy's name and some kind of identification number
[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_04]: If they don't have a badge number, they'll have an identification number
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and
[00:49:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, it will be an id
[00:49:54] [SPEAKER_04]: that is
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Really
[00:49:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Produced well it may even have a hologram on it
[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Or a a watermark
[00:50:04] [SPEAKER_04]: There'll be something
[00:50:06] [SPEAKER_04]: To make it so that it's not easily
[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_05]: Reproduced right. Yeah, I can't just be like print it off the internet and stuck in a little uh laminator or whatever
[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_04]: It will also have the department
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_04]: What department he's with
[00:50:21] [SPEAKER_04]: What agency he works for so
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_04]: All of that together and if it looks like it's been laminated and produced on a computer
[00:50:31] [SPEAKER_04]: It's when you need to down 911, right?
[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I saw a video the other day of uh, the captain like shows up at this uh at this
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_05]: um, this cop was arresting this guy for uh, a dwi
[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_05]: And then the captain shows up drunk
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_05]: Wow
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_05]: And like starts giving it up the officer a hard time. They actually got in an altercation and everything
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_05]: I was like, okay. That's awkward moment
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah now there are good cops and there are bad
[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_05]: All right. Well, there's all kinds of people
[00:51:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that just happens but
[00:51:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I had to
[00:51:14] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, I started to think deanna soon gonna drive
[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, yes, and a young girl
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_04]: 16 years old
[00:51:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Um driving and and you have to say to yourself
[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, wow
[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_04]: What
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Is the motivation she needs to come to my class this year?
[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, absolutely
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_04]: What would
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_04]: You know
[00:51:45] [SPEAKER_04]: What's going through that guy's head
[00:51:48] [SPEAKER_04]: That he is perner
[00:51:50] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, uh portraying himself
[00:51:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, is a police officer
[00:51:55] [SPEAKER_04]: But what is the ultimate?
[00:51:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Is it a power trip? No, I would assume it's uh, I'm gonna put you in cuffs and put you in the back of my car
[00:52:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, uh, yeah
[00:52:07] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean you've got to assume the worst
[00:52:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_06]: Absolutely
[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, what's the uh, what's the like you definitely well especially
[00:52:20] [SPEAKER_06]: this uh
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_06]: Single passenger female in the car, but you don't want to go to a well lit
[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_06]: uh populated
[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_06]: Like a, you know like a truck stop or
[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_06]: 7-11 or something right to to pull over to to
[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_06]: To get pulled over into what as
[00:52:39] [SPEAKER_06]: As a police officer. What's what's the um
[00:52:42] [SPEAKER_06]: How long would you allow would you trail a car allow them to go before you yeah before you get really ticked off?
[00:52:49] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Pull over on a two lane road out in the middle of wood. Yeah
[00:52:55] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, exactly. So from the time of the infraction
[00:53:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:53:02] [SPEAKER_04]: So he observed something that's not right
[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_04]: He's in control
[00:53:08] [SPEAKER_04]: The police officer is in control
[00:53:10] [SPEAKER_04]: He can turn his lights on at any time
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And and usually they know the roads they know where you can pull off where it's not gonna be good to pull off
[00:53:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Because they're only they're gonna have to get out of the car too, right? Yeah
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, and the dark on a two lane. Yeah
[00:53:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, so uh, you flip the lights
[00:53:32] [SPEAKER_04]: This is me
[00:53:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, I flipped the lights on when I knew there was a place that they could pull over safely
[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_04]: It may not may or may not you you don't understand. I was in anchorage, Alaska
[00:53:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Not Mary Mays 7 11's
[00:53:51] [SPEAKER_04]: You may or may not be well lit
[00:53:54] [SPEAKER_04]: But I knew you could pull over and it was uh safe to do so for them and me
[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, and uh, yeah
[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, because you see a lot one that a lot but you see a lot of videos that like cops like getting
[00:54:08] [SPEAKER_06]: Clipped and stuff on the side of the road
[00:54:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, people draw into the lights, right?
[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, a lot of times it'll be they're passing you and you're going the opposite way
[00:54:20] [SPEAKER_04]: So they flip the lights on so that you see that they know
[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Then you might as well just slow down
[00:54:33] [SPEAKER_04]: To start looking for a place to pull over
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Based on music
[00:54:41] [SPEAKER_04]: And then you see a guy that has a bubble light
[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_04]: In his car and uh
[00:54:47] [SPEAKER_04]: So I was in Wisconsin
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, and and this guy pulls me over now. It was an absolute positive
[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Police car
[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Markings everything lights everything
[00:55:03] [SPEAKER_04]: This guy gets out and all he has on
[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Is a police
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_04]: shirt
[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_04]: He don't even have a badge on it. Huh? Okay. No pants
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_04]: No, he had jeans. He had jeans on
[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_04]: okay now
[00:55:20] [SPEAKER_04]: Another thing I I tell people what you should see on a police shirt
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_04]: You should see a name tag
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_04]: You should see a patch
[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_04]: You should see a badge
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes a whistle
[00:55:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Uh, maybe even a rank
[00:55:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, you'll see collar insignia
[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And and these are the things
[00:55:46] [SPEAKER_04]: That police take great pride because they want to present
[00:55:52] [SPEAKER_04]: A professional appearance right if you sent a professional appearance
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_04]: 99%
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Of your altercations go out the window
[00:56:04] [SPEAKER_04]: They know that you're the guy that's going to do the thing so
[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Right
[00:56:10] [SPEAKER_04]: They don't even try
[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_04]: But if you don't have all that
[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Anyway, this guy in Wisconsin he gets out
[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_04]: He comes up to the car and he says I need to see your driver's license
[00:56:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I gave him my military ID
[00:56:28] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay
[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_04]: He looked at it
[00:56:32] [SPEAKER_04]: And he gave it back to me and said you need to stop better at that stop sign back there
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_04]: and I'm like
[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, this guy was not a cop
[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_04]: I think I think what happened was
[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_04]: He had a cop buddy
[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Because it was a small town and he said hey, let's go out and rouse some drunks or something like that
[00:56:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, yeah
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_04]: He says I'll I'll let you do it. I'll let you drive and he gave him one of his shirts
[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, no
[00:57:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean
[00:57:08] [SPEAKER_04]: This uh first of all that's insane
[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
[00:57:13] [SPEAKER_05]: Not cool at all
[00:57:15] [SPEAKER_04]: Not cool not cool
[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: But when I showed him my military ID
[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And I gave it to him and he looked at it like it was a driver's license
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_04]: And then gives it back to me
[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I knew he had he had never done this before
[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh
[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah
[00:57:32] [SPEAKER_05]: crazy garden girl saying that she had a friend who um
[00:57:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Had that experience that was getting pulled over by somebody who was not
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_05]: A police officer and she called 911 and they confirmed that they had no one out there patrolling at the time. Yeah
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh-huh. Yeah, so more and more did they send someone interesting
[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Very interesting. I'm gonna have to mention this. This is going to be a new piece for my class
[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_05]: You're gonna have to send that article over to me
[00:58:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay, I will I'll update my um, yeah, I'll update my anti kidnapping class with it
[00:58:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Awesome. I think that was uh, that was definitely worth uh
[00:58:11] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I guess we got to get through the changing earth news, but I don't know it's not huge
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_05]: So we're good, but yeah, that was that was a good piece of info there, Dave
[00:58:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, thanks. Thanks. I hope they like the article
[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, yeah, send that over to me like I say I'd really like to update my anti kidnapping class because
[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, I just got so much feedback
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_05]: um last year for my classes as far as like
[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Um people getting ribbons tied on their cars. They tie them on like the passenger side back door
[00:58:44] [SPEAKER_05]: And you're actually getting tagged by a gang for like abduction later
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Um women that are now like go go to a party and it's it's not like taking the drink
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_05]: They just straight stick a needle in you
[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_05]: What?
[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, one of this one gentleman his daughter went to this pool party
[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_05]: And they straight up walked up behind her and stuck a needle in her
[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, oh my god
[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_05]: So that's like you've got to have a battle buddy when you go to these parties, you know, you've got to have
[00:59:19] [SPEAKER_05]: a party to watch your back. Yeah
[00:59:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely
[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_03]: So
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, it's getting really really interesting as far as like the methods now that they're taking because there's
[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_05]: You know the broken glass effect once you're allowed to go one step then they take four
[00:59:35] [SPEAKER_05]: Right. Yeah, and so now it's just uh, you know, the the consequences aren't there enough to stop this behavior
[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_05]: And it's really getting out of control
[00:59:45] [SPEAKER_04]: yeah
[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, now if you say to a police officer
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_04]: who obviously
[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_04]: Is about to give you a ticket or something
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_04]: You say to him
[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_04]: If I could could I please see your identification?
[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_04]: There's no
[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_04]: police officer in the planet that will not produce that
[01:00:10] [SPEAKER_04]: If they refuse or get upset
[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: That is a big big sign
[01:00:16] [SPEAKER_05]: You flag, yeah red
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, I've seen too many of those lately
[01:00:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah
[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Alrighty Dave. Well you want to stick around for the change earth news or uh, there's warden calling you back to to slave labor there
[01:00:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, the warden has me
[01:00:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Short leash and I've already exceeded my limit. Yeah, brock was on it brock had a list for while I was podcasting as well
[01:00:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, okay
[01:00:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, exactly exactly
[01:00:51] [SPEAKER_05]: Alrighty well, thank you so much for coming on. You know, you're always welcome 100 and you've got to tell me how you love the
[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, what you think of the episodes the the last four that are coming out
[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh
[01:01:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah, I can't wait. I can't wait. Yeah, I'm excited to share them with everybody. It's gonna be cool
[01:01:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay, take care. See you chin
[01:01:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, all this fun chat with you buddy
[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Same here. Hey, maybe the next exercise you can come on
[01:01:21] [SPEAKER_06]: I know right i'm getting jealous now
[01:01:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Alrighty so let's go ahead and play some weather music just real quick
[01:01:31] [SPEAKER_05]: And then we're gonna just whip through the change in earth
[01:01:34] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh news but I thought it was definitely worth keeping Dave around for that info. That was great
[01:01:45] [SPEAKER_05]: All right changing earth news silk suns quiet today, but that has not been the case
[01:01:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Last week we had that x we had a few
[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_05]: big x-class solar flares
[01:01:58] [SPEAKER_05]: and just glancing blows but
[01:02:01] [SPEAKER_05]: We had all those outages, right the the cell phone networks went down
[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh, right. Um pharmaceutical like the um prescription
[01:02:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Um systems were involved
[01:02:15] [SPEAKER_05]: um some of the gaming systems
[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Lots of systems went down. Yeah, so that was uh, that's like a little reality check right there
[01:02:27] [SPEAKER_05]: like
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_05]: That quickly and that wasn't even like a big deal. It wasn't even like a long duration x-class. It wasn't even that big of an x-class
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_05]: I think it was like an x1
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_06]: So and I was away from home in in a city
[01:02:40] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh my goodness, right? What are you doing? Oh
[01:02:44] [SPEAKER_05]: Your go bags everything
[01:02:48] [SPEAKER_05]: That's where a bracket be like do we really need our go bags? I'll be like, yes
[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_05]: We do
[01:02:54] [SPEAKER_06]: And remember I said you a picture I went to palm out of state army their store. Yeah
[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_06]: And they were closed because their systems were down down exactly how if you don't have cash on hand
[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_06]: Watcher for that red balloon when that happened
[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, because that was that was like it
[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_06]: 9 30 in the morning. Yeah
[01:03:16] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, it's crazy, right? 30 10 o'clock in the morning something like that. Yeah
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_05]: It wasn't even a big deal
[01:03:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, and uh, they were called they had a big sign on the front door couldn't go in
[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah
[01:03:27] [SPEAKER_05]: I was impressed by how much it affected and they were like, well, it's gotta be hackers or whatever
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_05]: And uh, they determined at the end that no it was the x-class solar flare
[01:03:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, it was too many like if you were going to pull off a hack that big then why wouldn't you have hit more essential systems, right?
[01:03:45] [SPEAKER_05]: so
[01:03:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Very crazy stuff. So guys stay ready like
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_05]: We just never know where the earth is or the sun is still ramping up. We're still at the uh,
[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_05]: It kind of a warning period. So like dave says, you know, you wake up in your homage the next day. So
[01:04:03] [SPEAKER_05]: Make sure you have some cash on hand
[01:04:05] [SPEAKER_05]: I mean, you won't be able to spend it long term, but at least like you could go buy stuff up
[01:04:09] [SPEAKER_05]: Well, well you came with cash. Yeah
[01:04:13] [SPEAKER_05]: All right, so on the 25th we had
[01:04:16] [SPEAKER_05]: 394 earthquakes or 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 6.0 in the Indian Ocean near West Java
[01:04:22] [SPEAKER_05]: Indonesia had a giant landslide that destroyed this dam
[01:04:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, about 600,000 residents had to be evacuated. We're talking a lot of homes destroyed. It is not looking
[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_05]: Good over there. Um
[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_05]: You know, Indonesia sits on this piece of land that used to be out of the water
[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_05]: So like literally it's been sinking for a long time and uh, you just have to wonder
[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, will indonesia be there for the long haul? So prayers go out to everybody over there
[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_05]: That's that's such a challenging place to live
[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_05]: You want to talk about knowing how to deal with?
[01:05:01] [SPEAKER_05]: With natural disasters. They're like in it all the time
[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, zheng zheng china just you know, they just keep coming up. They had a 5.8 earthquake on the 25th
[01:05:12] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, that's where they just had that rapid cooling event
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_05]: It went like 40 degrees colder and uh, so quickly that it froze the snow birds out of the air
[01:05:24] [SPEAKER_05]: absolutely insane
[01:05:25] [SPEAKER_05]: um
[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I can't remember if we were talking about it on the show
[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_05]: Before this one or if it happened. Well during the blooper week
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_05]: But um, absolutely insane event that is like day after tomorrow stuff. Um, that is like
[01:05:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, we just never seen it on our plan up before so very interesting
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Queensland australia
[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_05]: They were having more rain and flooding on the 25th on the 26th. There was
[01:05:52] [SPEAKER_05]: 357 earthquakes or a 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 5.1 in nicaragua and we had a
[01:05:58] [SPEAKER_05]: 5.0 earthquake in i'daho
[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_05]: Idaho is yellow stone region. So that's why that is a flagger in my head
[01:06:11] [SPEAKER_05]: There's debate about you know, is yellow stone still connected to
[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_05]: these
[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_05]: Vass resources of magma or is it cut off at this point?
[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_05]: So it's just kind of like doing its thing with what it's got
[01:06:26] [SPEAKER_05]: I don't have the answer to that question
[01:06:28] [SPEAKER_05]: But I you everybody knows it is a super volcano. So we keep our eyes on it and um, it does have a severe amount of earthquakes there
[01:06:36] [SPEAKER_05]: It's just we've seen the larger ones coming into play and that's when it gets scary
[01:06:42] [SPEAKER_05]: So on february 27th, we had 404 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger
[01:06:47] [SPEAKER_05]: The biggest of which was a 5.2 in the timer sea by Indonesia
[01:06:52] [SPEAKER_05]: There was also a 2.7 earthquake in i'daho that day
[01:06:56] [SPEAKER_05]: On the 27th is also when the texas wildfires began in the panhandle. Yes, i'm fine
[01:07:02] [SPEAKER_05]: Um, I know that garden girl is fine. We're all doing okay. Um, the fires are up in the panhandle
[01:07:09] [SPEAKER_05]: There's a lot of land up there and they are on fire. So um prayers to everybody involved in that circumstance it is
[01:07:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Not even contained at this point. So looks like it's going to be moving into oklahoma
[01:07:23] [SPEAKER_05]: So, um, we'll just keep saying prayers that they can get that fire out and the winds die down
[01:07:28] [SPEAKER_05]: We get some rain through there
[01:07:30] [SPEAKER_05]: Um peru saw flooding in the north and then on the 28th of february
[01:07:34] [SPEAKER_05]: There was 380 earthquakes or 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 5.5 in the allusion island
[01:07:41] [SPEAKER_05]: Allusion islands of alaska
[01:07:44] [SPEAKER_05]: in bolivia
[01:07:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Central south america
[01:07:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Flooding on a massive scale 500 people displaced
[01:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: Second largest flooding event in history. These are big flooding going on in um in bolivia right now
[01:08:00] [SPEAKER_05]: Also in brazil. So we're just it's a big flood event going on down there
[01:08:06] [SPEAKER_05]: In guador pakistan, they also saw massive flooding event there on the 28th
[01:08:12] [SPEAKER_05]: On february 29th of 2024 there was 413 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger
[01:08:18] [SPEAKER_05]: Um popua cai in mexico the volcano there released a massive ash and lava release
[01:08:26] [SPEAKER_05]: That they were worried about it affecting the city of mexico mexico city
[01:08:33] [SPEAKER_05]: On the 29th the texas fires grew to over a million acres and it was only 3 contained
[01:08:42] [SPEAKER_05]: On march 1st of 2024 there was 454 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 5.9 in the ravian sea by gemin
[01:08:52] [SPEAKER_05]: In eastern canada they had to storm with some major flooding and power outages up there
[01:08:58] [SPEAKER_05]: On the 2nd of february, there was 300 or i'm sorry the 2nd of march
[01:09:03] [SPEAKER_05]: There was 388 earthquakes that were 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 5.8 in the south pacific ocean near fiji
[01:09:11] [SPEAKER_05]: iceland started getting shook shook him by hundreds of earthquakes
[01:09:16] [SPEAKER_05]: They were knowing it was going to erupt again, which it was
[01:09:21] [SPEAKER_05]: Last i heard it was in that blue lagoon area, which
[01:09:25] [SPEAKER_05]: Always makes me laugh because of the movie
[01:09:28] [SPEAKER_05]: but um
[01:09:29] [SPEAKER_05]: It's a major tourist attraction so that i mean i guess people like to see the lava too, but they like to go there for different reasons
[01:09:37] [SPEAKER_05]: From what i understand the blue lagoons is like a hot springs area
[01:09:41] [SPEAKER_05]: So i mean makes sense that you'd have volcanic activity there
[01:09:46] [SPEAKER_05]: uh
[01:09:47] [SPEAKER_05]: Let's see northern, um california
[01:09:51] [SPEAKER_05]: And nevado they were just slammed by a winter storm coming through this means more rain for southern california
[01:09:59] [SPEAKER_05]: So uh big snow accumulations up in the mountains
[01:10:03] [SPEAKER_05]: It went down the snow went all the way down to lower elevations
[01:10:06] [SPEAKER_05]: They had 121 mile an hour wing us at the top of this era
[01:10:11] [SPEAKER_05]: So it was a very very windy event as well. I am probably going to be a busy girl tomorrow with claims. I imagine
[01:10:19] [SPEAKER_05]: um
[01:10:20] [SPEAKER_05]: But uh, i was like maybe i should just call him sick, but
[01:10:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Um
[01:10:27] [SPEAKER_05]: Turkey had um some flooding going on there property damage coastal
[01:10:33] [SPEAKER_05]: regions evacuated
[01:10:35] [SPEAKER_05]: And then today the third of march there was
[01:10:39] [SPEAKER_05]: 435 earthquakes or 2.0 or bigger biggest of which was a 6.7 in the macree island region
[01:10:46] [SPEAKER_05]: Chen gave me the heads up on that one this morning
[01:10:49] [SPEAKER_05]: Before i even got in any kind of research so thank you chin
[01:10:52] [SPEAKER_05]: Um
[01:10:53] [SPEAKER_05]: That i know right. I love it. That was the biggest of the day. That's actually down by new zealand
[01:11:00] [SPEAKER_05]: So a lot of activity happening down there
[01:11:03] [SPEAKER_05]: As far as volcanoes erupting we have 26 volcanoes actively erupting on our planet
[01:11:09] [SPEAKER_05]: We have 19 showing minor unrest and we have 32
[01:11:15] [SPEAKER_05]: Showing unrest
[01:11:17] [SPEAKER_05]: Uh, sorry 19 showing minor activity
[01:11:20] [SPEAKER_05]: 32 showing unrest so as far as erupting we're actually down to but we went up
[01:11:26] [SPEAKER_05]: One in the minor activity and we went up one in the unrest so
[01:11:31] [SPEAKER_05]: Um europe's kind of quieted down, but it's really shifted to indonesia and activity there
[01:11:38] [SPEAKER_05]: Right now in the united states of america. We have uh,
[01:11:41] [SPEAKER_05]: 33 active wildfires there was something like
[01:11:45] [SPEAKER_05]: 91 new fires up on the list which was crazy
[01:11:49] [SPEAKER_05]: But they had like 63 of them contained so
[01:11:53] [SPEAKER_05]: 33 actively burning right now for a total of 1,458,000 acres
[01:12:00] [SPEAKER_05]: texas is obviously top of that list with 1,251 acre 51,000 acres um fire
[01:12:09] [SPEAKER_05]: That is from 11 new fires five
[01:12:13] [SPEAKER_05]: active fires with 11 new ones and six of them are contained
[01:12:17] [SPEAKER_05]: In oklahoma they have 37 new fires right now. They're up to 128,955 acres on fire
[01:12:27] [SPEAKER_05]: 23 of those fires are contained so it looks like they're just shifting resources from texas and oklahoma
[01:12:33] [SPEAKER_05]: To try and get a grip on what's going on here
[01:12:37] [SPEAKER_05]: Surprisingly, nebraska is coming in third place with 69,810 acres. This is on fire. This is from one new fire
[01:12:47] [SPEAKER_05]: So um, they've got some activity going up on there
[01:12:50] [SPEAKER_05]: You're just not hearing as much about it because of the massive amounts of damage in uh, texas
[01:12:56] [SPEAKER_05]: They've lost a lot of structures. It hasn't been
[01:12:58] [SPEAKER_05]: Hasn't been a good day for a lot of people up there um for a while
[01:13:02] [SPEAKER_05]: So
[01:13:03] [SPEAKER_05]: They're gonna need some some loving and some prayers
[01:13:07] [SPEAKER_05]: Alrighty guys, sorry the show was a little bit longer than what we normally do
[01:13:12] [SPEAKER_05]: But I think that it was 100 worth it
