[00:00:04] You're listening to PBN, Your Path Back to Stability.
[00:00:57] The Hens. We're going to talk about Ration or Ruin today. We're going to revisit Friday's podcast, Saturday's podcast from Carl B. Very important message coming from some pretty notable CEOs like Walmart and Target. I'm sure you've been there within the last week or so.
[00:01:25] We don't know how things are going to go, but sometimes it's good to listen to the people who run companies like these. Get paid massive salaries and massive bonuses on top of that to run these companies. We may want to heed their warnings. It's not me freaking you out. It's actually never really me freaking you out. I don't wake up. I'm not in the freaking you out business.
[00:01:49] I'm in the reading things and freaking out and then coming to you and saying, this is what I think we should do. Business. This is what I think you should do. Business. That's really it. You know what I mean? What may be freaking you out though is that we're 72 hours away from Ration or Ruin. Are you participating? Are you participating? One thing that I'd like you to do for me, okay?
[00:02:16] I'm sure that there are other prepper and survivalist content creators, podcasters, video makers, and so on that you enjoy, that you watch, listen to. What I'd really like you to do for me is to send them an email and tell them about Ration or Ruin. Now, I do have a press release written for Ration or Ruin.
[00:02:43] It's gone out to places like Newsmax and Breitbart and Blaze and several people that I know in different news and survival news parlance. It doesn't mean it's going to get picked up. It doesn't mean anybody's going to say anything back. What I'm getting at is if you need a CliffsNotes, then I got you.
[00:03:09] But I would really like for you to send a short email and make whoever it is that you like second to me and PBN. I'm going to assume we're not your second and that they're your second. How about that? Send them an email and challenge them. Really? Why? Because this is legit, right?
[00:03:37] Fire Wolf Forge says his wife's trying to get out of it, trying to get out of the Ration or Ruin. I don't blame her. It's not going to be fun. It's not going to be good for you. You know what I mean? There's not a whole lot of outcomes that are going to be beneficial. Well, hmm. See, I'm not I'm discounting the foraging and fishing aspect of it too much. And what fun that's going to be. So I've got to wrap my head around that.
[00:04:04] I keep looking at at the four days off survival food as starvation. And I've got to wrap my head around the fact that you never know what it could be. That's kind of the fun of it. Right. But it will test your abilities. Even if these content creators that you watch outside of PBN or even if you have a host, the PBN host that you want to do it.
[00:04:31] Now, they're not all doing it or anything like that. It's really just as far as I know, it's really just me and the the rash of the Patriot Power Hour guys. I don't know any other hosts who are taking that on. I haven't reached out to people directly about it. I assume they listen to the shows for the most part. And I also assume that that's it's a little crazy. What we're planning and doing. About as crazy as this Monday morning hairdo, you know what I mean?
[00:05:00] So. All that said, that's a good way to look at a firewall forge, he says in chat to it's what's crazy is to actually feel hungry for the first time ever. It is rare in America. You get on your if you ever done like a two or three day fast, you get into that second day and you realize like it's not that bad.
[00:05:26] It's really not, especially if you're busy. Not really that big a deal. So, I guess I'll get so. So my request is this reach out. I could think of like the magic prepper. I think I reached out. I reached out to the casual preppers myself. I don't know all the names guys pinball prepper gets thrown around a lot.
[00:05:51] I did email PJ from Viking preparedness because he this is the thing. If they all make videos about it, then everybody's going to have their own method of dealing with it. Right. If they can get convinced it is a challenge. It's a personal challenge. It's not competitive fundamentally, but it will be made competitive. You know that. Right. The nature of what we're doing is going to be competitive.
[00:06:19] People are going to say, I did this really well. I did this really. You know what I mean? But the thing about it is it's a challenge. And if you bring it to the more preppers who make content that you bring it to and the more that participate, then they're going to create videos and content about it.
[00:06:41] And you'll learn stuff. We'll all learn stuff like, oh, this is what he did to get those four days of not eating handled. Right. And press them, press them. PBM family, do it for me. Send an email out. Ration a ruin. This is what you got to do. Some crazy. Ex chef in Richmond, Virginia is doing it, so you should do it, too.
[00:07:11] Send an email to Mike Glover. Yeah. See if he'll do it. Yeah, I don't know. And look at even and even put in that maybe in that email, say you could just do it for a week because I'm not really like super focused on everybody doing it for a month. I think the vast majority of people that participate in ration a ruin should do it for a week, you know, and that's it.
[00:07:36] It's one week, couple days fast, you know, on and off fast kind of really like a time restricted fast except for the weekend, which would be basically a 48 hour fast if they don't forage or, you know, fish or whatever. And I think you'll learn a lot. You know, I think there's a good chance you'll learn just as much.
[00:07:59] You know, from a week as you will from a month, you get into two weeks, three weeks, four weeks at that point, you're really just. You're probably really just a little masochistic or something like that. You know what I mean? You're like, I can keep going. I can keep suffering. It's not really that big a deal. You know what I mean? If you're attuned to it.
[00:08:28] But so Wednesday is it. Wednesday is the last day. I was I got so saved because my wife and I were invited to a meal at a nice restaurant. And I thought I was going to miss it because it was literally on on Wednesday. I thought Wednesday was the first I said, oh, no.
[00:08:52] So I'm going to get one good last hurrah on the way out the door before it's freeze dried food, food for a month, freeze dried or fresh for a month. Yeah, like the alpha and omega or whatever. The you know what I mean? So real quick, it's not, you know, it's not too dramatic. It's not too much. You really need to wrap your head around. OK. But I want to give it out one more time.
[00:09:20] So those of you who are hearing about ration and ruin for the first time can decide whether or not you want to get involved. What I will tell you is from a food perspective. From an eating in a collapse perspective. I don't think there's a better way for you to be 100 percent clear about what it is. You're going to be capable of in a serious collapse of supply chains, right?
[00:09:48] Like if you really want to know how your body's going to react to survival food, how your body's going to react to hunger, what you can really substitute out of the wild. Really not like when the grid goes down, I'm going to become Cam Haynes with my crossbow and my bow and arrow. Right. But really get a measurement hungry, maybe a little desperate at what you're going to be able to do.
[00:10:16] You know, all those asides, if you really do go in for a month. Supplement. I do think you should supplement. You know what I mean? Future Dan has gone as far as protein shake supplements.
[00:10:35] You know, if you listen to the longer ration of ruin conversation, I think we called it chicken chunks white diced or something like that. Cooked chicken chunks white cooked. Yeah, that was it. That was the name of the podcast. You hear a little bit about behind the scenes of what people are actually going to be doing. Right.
[00:11:01] And supplements are something that I'm actually going to be doing outside of just waking up and going at it, you know, chewing the the roots of dandelion. And I'll be drinking coffee, you know, probably not a lot because, you know, my body's going to have enough to deal with. But little caffeine, little little supplements will be doing like a, you know, like a multivitamin for adults, that kind of thing.
[00:11:31] I don't want June to start and be in the hospital malnutrition. You know what I mean? So to combat that, that's what what I'll be doing. And, you know, look, I may we also might change things as the month goes on, too. I don't know. Like if week two comes. And I'm completely ineffective as a human being, like we're going to add calories.
[00:11:59] You know what I mean? I'm not going to I'm not going to be on here, gone like dead, dying, live streaming over ration of ruin. And we'll try to get, you know, I'd like to do an R&R end of the week for you guys every week. Right. A little R&R sort of what's going on, who's doing what, how'd you do last week, that kind of thing. That could be good. I'll do it myself. No one else wants to do it, but I'd like to do that.
[00:12:27] That would be good. I'd love you guys to do it to those like Firewolf. If you're participating for sure, we'd love to have your comments in there to be fun. It's not, you know, it's not for the faint of heart, but it's going to be a very interesting and very humbling experience. And I don't think that I've seen anything anywhere. And I've seen several survival challenges in this kind of challenge and that kind of challenge. But I think what future Dan has come up with, I got to give him credit where credit's due is.
[00:13:00] This is the katana to the bullshit. You know what I mean? That's what this is. This is the samurai sword to your bullshit. In other words, you're a hunter, you're a trapper, you're a fisherman, you're a forager, you're all these things. When the world falls apart. Well, let's see about that. Do you know what I mean? That's what I mean, that's really what it is.
[00:13:26] And then also, let's also see how all the survival foods actually going to work in your body. Right. I know it's going to be problem for me. I know it. There's no way you can take what I eat on a regular basis and then flip it into freeze dried food. And then everything stays the same. So I know that's going to be a problem. And we'll actually know because I'm pretty sure I got to get it done soon.
[00:13:53] But I'm pretty sure I would like to go get my and this is crazy for me because I hate it. But I'd like to go get my blood drawn and just take a look at the beginning and at the end and see what what's changed. You know what I mean? It would be interesting to see if I'm eating enough. What if I'm eating enough foraged and wild foods that like my biomarkers go up crazy? And so do Dan's and so do you know. I don't know if Ben's doing the blood thing, but I know.
[00:14:22] I know future Dan is. Ration of ruin. What do you want to do? You want to do it? You don't want to do it. Are you scared of it? Do it for a week. One week. All you got to do is thus. Monday, Wednesday, Friday. 2,000 calories of survival food. If you're out already. Like if you're like, oh, I don't have 6,000 calories of survival food.
[00:14:49] Then right off the bat, you know what you need to do. Right? Simple. So if you already answered a question. Right? If you don't have 6,000, 12,000, 18,000, 24,000 calories of survival food in your house. Then right off the bat, you know. Right? Well, kind of. Kind of.
[00:15:12] Because I don't have 24,000 calories of branded survival food in my house. Freeze dried branded survival food. Because I, you know, we do the DIY food storage, which is much more affordable. And if you can cook at all, it's the way to go. You know. Staple ingredients in food storage rather than pre-made meals that. Good luck. If everybody's in your.
[00:15:40] Good luck if you're going to like them. Good luck if then your wife's going to like them. Or husband. Good luck if then your kids are also going to. You know what I mean? To me, those. A lot of. Like putting all your money. And all your survival acumen in. Or, you know, whatever. Currency into. Just. The 72 hour kids. The six month kids. Whatever it is. It's a dangerous game. I think there's a place for them. Don't get me wrong. I think they're very.
[00:16:11] Effective. And I can tell you. If you got nothing else. And, you know, the. The Walmart is empty. Then. Life will be a hell of a lot better than going. Oh. We just ate our last can of green peas. We had green peas for dinner for the last three nights. How's everybody feeling? You know what I mean? Firewolf for. George in chat remarks on the. On the use of survival food exclusively.
[00:16:39] And he says today on Firewolf Forge. Live from the toilet. Which could be. Could be more real than we know. We'll have to see. How it goes. I remember I ate spam for a week. A couple years ago. So. Because spam is sort of one of those like. Go to prepper foods. You know what I mean? And I stopped storing it. After that. You know. I just completely took. I had this idea that it was spam. Can protein. Makes sense.
[00:17:09] I ate it for a week. I felt like I was dying. Just all. You know. All manners of my life were a mess. It was really not good. Yeah. So I had to go. So. Real quick. Yeah. I think that's what it was. Firewolf. I felt the same way under spam. That I do around the holidays. Sometimes around the holidays. I put so much salt in my body. From like salamis. And so. Prasadas. And pecorino. Romano cheeses.
[00:17:39] And those kinds of things. That like. You can't catch up. I just can't. I'm like. Days. I indebted to dehydration. And salt. And I just can't beat it. So. This topic here was covered. By Carl B. At large. You could listen to that show from Saturday. It's worth repeating. Again. It's not. Whoa. What happened? It's not.
[00:18:10] Hey garden girl. What's up? Oh. Good call. I like that. So garden girl is going to be doing sort of the Dave Jones method. And eating the home freeze dried foods. It's a good move. It's a good move. Um. This off of the economic collapse blog dot com. Um. It's complete. You know. Fear bait. And that kind of thing.
[00:18:39] But. We have to take indicators that are blinking. And. At least consider them. Right. So. Let's see what the CEOs. So that. So that. For those of you who are not watching and listening only. It's it. The article is titled. The CEOs of Walmart, Target, Home Depot, and Lowe's warn that store shelves all over America could soon be empty. Quote. Soon be empty. Um. Um. I want the quotes direct from the CEOs.
[00:19:09] According to Axios. The CEOs. Quote. Flat out told him. By him they mean Trump. The prices are going up. They're steady right now. But they will go up. So they all met with him. I guess. They also told President Trump that shelves will be empty if current tariff levels persist. Michael Snyder goes on to say that he's so glad that President Trump is getting input from these CEOs. He thinks it's very important.
[00:19:38] And it's, um. Like I said. Like weeks ago. Probably a month ago now. This tariff thing is not a slam dunk. You know what I mean? By any stretch. But the CEO of Walmart, Doug McMillan. Who has developed a cordial relationship with Trump through meetings at Mar-a-Lago and several mutual friends. Bluntly told Trump that the trade war with China had already started to disrupt the supply chain. Officials said.
[00:20:07] And would only intensify by the summer. So, you know, wrap your head around that. You know what I mean? What comes to mind is like. From a. From a like a life disruption situation. Probably not. Tremendous. Right? At least for you and me. Right? If your people are living in and out of Walmart for everything. Different story. Um. But what is interesting is vacation. You know.
[00:20:35] Like you do that week at the beach. You're like. Yeah. We go get our groceries at the beginning of the week. And we go to the Walmart down there. And grab whatever we need for the. The Airbnb. Or the. Whatever. Whatever. You might find. Particularly in places like that. Or in general. That some of those things you're used to having aren't around. Right? According to Port Optimizer. A tracking system for vessel operators. Scheduled import volumes for the LA port.
[00:21:05] For the week ending May 3rd. Show a 38.53 week of a week plunge. Year over year. The data shows 9.7% decrease. For the week ending May 10. So. You know. A 40% decrease in incoming vessels. Essentially. Incoming goods. Right? We're at a tipping point. One industry insider warns CNBC. So. You know.
[00:21:35] Be careful. That more than 700,000 truckloads have evaporated nationally. In just the last week. The fallout from the ocean freight slowdown. Is beginning to hit the ground transport link to ports. If you ride truck. And you're in the PBN audience. Give us some intel on that. We are at a tipping point on the west coast. Said Ken Adamo. Chief analytics at. Dat freight and analytics. Looking at how many truckloads are available versus trucks.
[00:22:04] We've seen a precipitous drop over 700,000 loads. Have evaporated nationally in the past week. Compared to two weeks prior. Michael Snyder's diagnosis. That is a cataclysmic. Or that is cataclysmic rather. So. It says ocean container bookings from China to the US are down 60% industry wide. So it's you know. It's happening guys. I think that's the big takeaway. You know what I mean? Like what is.
[00:22:33] What's really going on? What. You know. What's really going to happen on the back of all this stuff? That's what the markets are thinking. The economies think. But the common sense. Take is. You know. If you stop. If you raise. The tariffs. If you put 240% tariffs on the nation that makes everything that you buy. Then naturally there's going to be less things for you to buy. Act accordingly. You know what I mean?
[00:23:05] So you can. You can get what you need now. Or. Establish your own personal supply chain elsewhere. For the things that you need. You know. I can't. I mean like. What is a Walmart and a Target have? Truly. That you. That it's like only available there. You know what I mean? Or only available from China. That you can't find somewhere else. Find from another nation.
[00:23:35] Make yourself. Right. Borrow. Build. You know what I'm saying? It's not like the lumber is going to go away. You know what I mean? We're not importing lumber. From China. I mean don't get me wrong. You know. It's a lot of things that's going to be affected. But those are your choices frankly. Unless something big changes. But even if something big changes today. We're still behind. We're still behind now by 40%.
[00:24:05] Right? We've dropped 40% in terms of. The producers shipping to the consumer. It is what it is. You know. What else we got for today folks? It's nothing to lose sleep over. You knew it was going to happen. Right? I hope you knew it was going to happen. I hope everybody realized that. What happens when you take the guy who makes all your stuff. And put a 250% tariff on him. That's what will happen.
[00:24:35] You know. I don't know. It's been. It's been a heavy one. I think we can call it. I would invite you. To. Visit the L2 Survive YouTube channel. He did a cool little power bank review. You know. You'll see the power bank. At L2 Survive. And you'll recognize the design. But everything is always improving. You know what I mean? Right before I hopped on.
[00:25:04] Chin sent me a video of a marine. Who is using essentially an arm jet pack. To fly from a. Inflated ship. Or inflatable boat. To a battleship. It looked like. Like over the ocean. Everything is always improving. You know what I mean? And this. This is a cool little number. So. Go to L2 Survive over at YouTube. Check that video out. Pretty cool.
[00:25:33] Garden Girl has got some special intel. From Home Depot possibly. Making nails. I've tried that. I've tried making nails. And what happens is. They get stuck in the nail maker. Every time. So maybe. I don't know. I don't know if the. Whatever the nail making device is. I've made one of those. Right. It looks like. Kind of like a. Kind of like a thick spoon. With a hole in the middle. You know what I mean? With it.
[00:26:02] It's got like a little handle. A little circular part. A hole in it. And then you bash some nice hot. Hot. The proper name is a nail header. And then you bash some. You know. Hot steel through that thing. And make yourself a nail. Super simplified. I'd love to see it Firewolf. If you do get to. Whipping some nails out. We'd love to see that. That would be cool. Over on Hammer Talk. Like I said. I've tried it. They get stuck in a nail header.
[00:26:32] I don't know what I'm doing. So. It's not. You know. It looks really cool. And really easy. Everything having to do with blacksmithing. When you see it on. YouTube. Anyway. It's rough. You know. So. I think that's it for today folks. I do appreciate you. Oh. No. No. No. No. No. We do have one more thing for you. And it's a good one. Because it's about tonight. Tonight we got Mike Seeklander on.
[00:27:02] And Mike Seeklander does the American Warrior Podcast. And he is the man behind shooting-performance.com. If that's your bag of tricks. If you're into the carbines. If you're into the handguns. If you're into the defensive weapon tactics and techniques and practices. He does on-site courses. And we'll get into all that with him. Does a lot with competitive shooting too. If you're into getting into that.
[00:27:32] I think he's got some really cool programs on his site. Like the defensive handgun training. You can get a DVD of that still. Which is kind of cool. Or a book. Or you can do it digitally right there on the website. He's got one with the rifle also. Defensive rifle training. And a bunch on the IDPA. Right? Is it IDPA? Is that right? IDPA mastery. The USPSA mastery. A lot of competitive stuff.
[00:28:01] But we're going to talk to him about shooting tonight on the show. And a bunch of stuff about his podcast. Self-defense. Whatever else we get into tonight. So that'll be a big one. Right? Meantime. Get to know him. Over at shooting-performance.com. Get a little primer. Listen to a podcast. Mike's live broadcast list here. You can get listed on that if you'd like. Check him out. It'll be a good one.
[00:28:31] No doubt about it. I will talk to you guys later tonight. Okay? Oh. And get the newsletter today. It's out. It was out 6 a.m. In your inbox. Very interesting one. Uh. Just. Just get it. Okay? Take it. Take my advice. I'll talk to you guys tonight. See ya.
