[00:00:00] Welcome back to the Changing Earth podcast with author Sarah F Hathaway and co-host

[00:00:14] Chen Gibson, blending survival fiction and fact to bring you entertaining education that

[00:00:21] will help you dream, survive, and thrive.

[00:00:25] And now here's your hosts Sarah F Hathaway and Chen Gibson.

[00:00:32] Chapter 44

[00:00:34] The sun setting on the horizon shone through Cole's window as he sat organizing supply

[00:00:39] shipment records.

[00:00:41] Pouring a drink from the bottle on his desk, he sat back, admiring the pink and

[00:00:46] red colors.

[00:00:48] A soft wrapping at the door drew his attention, and Private Jessup requested, permission

[00:00:54] Granted, Cole responded.

[00:00:56] The doorknob turned and Jessup entered with a wide grin.

[00:00:59] Sir, Staff Sergeant Bingham and Sergeant Bennett have arrived, sir.

[00:01:04] Cole threw his pen on his desk and quickly put his papers away.

[00:01:07] Show them in, he requested, standing to greet the men as they entered.

[00:01:12] Alex jovially bounced into the room with Bennett on his heels.

[00:01:15] Both of them wore wide grins.

[00:01:18] Major Verges, nice to see you, Alex said, extending his hand.

[00:01:22] Please, you guys are here to relax.

[00:01:24] Call me Cole.

[00:01:25] I second that and God almighty I could use the break from that place, Bennett declared.

[00:01:30] Cole had never seen him look so carefree.

[00:01:32] It was a welcome change and he was excited by the night's prospects.

[00:01:37] No reason to wait for Ben to start the festivities.

[00:01:40] Sit down, have a drink, Cole told them, heading to the cabinet for more glasses.

[00:01:45] He brought them back to the desk and filled them with the caramel liquid in the bottle.

[00:01:50] So Patrick, you into basic with Ben?

[00:01:53] Where were you stationed, Cole asked as he sat down in his chair.

[00:01:57] Trained in San Diego.

[00:01:58] A bunch of crazies out there, Bennett replied, shooting the liquid in the glass.

[00:02:03] Cole poured him another.

[00:02:05] I hear ya.

[00:02:06] That's why I chose to hang my hat in Arizona.

[00:02:09] Where did you train, Cole, Alex wondered.

[00:02:12] I think my dad started training me in the womb.

[00:02:14] I was on a sniper team in high school.

[00:02:17] I went into law enforcement where General McClintock found me.

[00:02:21] I've been doing work overseas until now.

[00:02:24] My brother always wanted me to go private with him.

[00:02:27] He was going to finish two more years and then he was getting out, Alex commented.

[00:02:32] Curious, Cole inquired.

[00:02:34] He was in the Sacramento area when the quake hit, right?

[00:02:38] Yeah, he was, Alex admitted.

[00:02:40] Did you ever find out what happened to him, Cole wondered.

[00:02:43] He died in the tsunami.

[00:02:45] He was assisting a community.

[00:02:47] How did you find that out?

[00:02:50] That's the word I got from a survivor that was with him for a while, Alex explained.

[00:02:55] You never told me about that, Bennett stated, interested in the story.

[00:02:59] Alex turned towards Bennett and batted his eyelashes at him.

[00:03:02] Well, you never asked, honey, he declared flirtatiously.

[00:03:06] You volunteering to take me home tonight?

[00:03:09] I guarantee it will be one to remember, Bennett teased, making kissing noises at

[00:03:13] him.

[00:03:14] I don't care how big you are.

[00:03:16] I'll kick your ass if you keep talking that smack, Alex choked, standing from his chair.

[00:03:22] Bennett stood as well.

[00:03:23] His large frame towered over Alex.

[00:03:25] Bennett reached out to hug him, teasing.

[00:03:28] You scared of a good time, little man?

[00:03:30] Come on, just one kiss.

[00:03:32] Bennett hugged the more petite man into himself, kissing him on the cheek.

[00:03:37] Alex pulled himself away, wiping off his face he whined.

[00:03:40] Oh, man, you're sick, Bennett.

[00:03:43] Finally regaining his composure, he began to play spar with the massive man.

[00:03:47] Hey, look who I found in the parking lot, Monroe sounded, appearing in the doorway.

[00:03:53] Nicholton followed Monroe in the door.

[00:03:55] How's it going, fellas?

[00:03:56] I see you started without me, he accused.

[00:03:59] Cole rose from his chair to go shake the man's hand.

[00:04:02] Ben, how's it going, my friend?

[00:04:05] Sit down, have a drink.

[00:04:07] Monroe suggested, looking at the limited number of chairs.

[00:04:10] Why don't we head over to Dolores's?

[00:04:13] We're waiting on Chappie, Cole explained.

[00:04:15] He still not off guard duty, Monroe asked with a questioning scowl.

[00:04:20] The men laughed and Alex asked.

[00:04:22] What the hell is Chappie doing on guard duty?

[00:04:25] Cole smirked, declaring he earned it.

[00:04:28] Y'all waiting on me?

[00:04:29] Chappie bellowed in his southern drawl as he entered.

[00:04:33] There he is, Mr. Guard Duty, Nicholton teased.

[00:04:36] Bennett laughed, standing from his chair to greet the man.

[00:04:40] You have to tell us how you pissed off the major, Bennett insisted, shaking his hand.

[00:04:45] Come on guys, we can talk as we walk, Monroe directed, leading them out the door.

[00:04:50] So what happened?

[00:04:51] Alex wondered, nudging Chappie.

[00:04:53] I went and got a drink the other night, Chappie said vaguely.

[00:04:57] Come on, what happened?

[00:04:58] Nicholton prodded.

[00:05:00] I may or may not have taken the General's son with me, Chappie explained.

[00:05:05] Oh man, that's just dumb.

[00:05:08] How old is that kid now?

[00:05:09] 15?

[00:05:10] 16?

[00:05:11] Nicholton wondered.

[00:05:12] No, he's 20, Chappie defended as they exited the building and crossed the parking lot.

[00:05:18] Sounds old enough to me, Cole, Bennett stated, looking curiously at Cole.

[00:05:22] They approached a line of transport trucks wet from the recent washing.

[00:05:27] Johnny looked up, throwing a sponge in a bucket as they approached.

[00:05:31] Speak of the devil, here he is now, Cole exclaimed.

[00:05:34] Major Verges, sir, Johnny greeted him, saluting.

[00:05:37] You done washing the trucks yet?

[00:05:39] Cole wondered.

[00:05:40] Almost, sir, Johnny responded.

[00:05:42] You're losing daylight private, Cole explained.

[00:05:45] Yes, sir.

[00:05:46] I know, sir, Johnny stated, looking at the son's position.

[00:05:50] After the trucks, then the latrine, Cole commanded.

[00:05:53] Yes, sir, Johnny replied reluctantly.

[00:05:56] Good.

[00:05:57] After that, get some shut eye.

[00:05:58] I assign you to the morning patrol, Cole directed.

[00:06:02] Thoroughly disappointed, Johnny answered.

[00:06:04] Yes, sir.

[00:06:05] The men walked away laughing as Johnny picked up his sponge and

[00:06:09] continued his scrubbing.

[00:06:11] You're my kind of commander, Cole, Nicholton chuckled.

[00:06:14] Bennett looked at the man accusingly.

[00:06:17] You kidding me?

[00:06:18] When Ben made drill, we puked for weeks.

[00:06:21] You want to get strong?

[00:06:22] Ben is your man.

[00:06:24] You're the one working in the reeducation program.

[00:06:27] I'd say that takes some training ability, Nicholton told Bennett.

[00:06:31] Bennett's face furrowed in thought.

[00:06:33] Then he explained.

[00:06:34] It's different.

[00:06:35] It's more like winning an argument, mentally exhausting.

[00:06:40] That's why I put in for a transfer to recruit training.

[00:06:44] You did?

[00:06:44] Alex asked surprised as they passed through the gate to the base.

[00:06:48] The atmosphere on the street seemed electric tonight and Cole was

[00:06:52] impressed that he could feel so relaxed.

[00:06:54] It had been too long.

[00:06:56] Yeah, I have to take a break from that stuff Bennett expressed.

[00:07:00] He looked exhausted discussing it.

[00:07:03] Good for you, Patrick.

[00:07:04] Alex said with a wide smile clasping the man light heartedly on the shoulder.

[00:07:09] If you fellas are done patting each other on the back, we can go in and get a

[00:07:12] drink.

[00:07:13] Chappy teased, pausing to open the door.

[00:07:16] Let's go then Bennett declared stepping up.

[00:07:19] Chappy opened the door for the men and the steady beat of the

[00:07:22] music drew them inward.

[00:07:24] Two gorgeous women were up on stage and the men smiled widely.

[00:07:28] Their eyes were drawn to Dolores approaching.

[00:07:31] Major Burgess, how nice to see you.

[00:07:33] Are these your friends?

[00:07:34] You were telling me about she asked as a tantalizing scent wash over them.

[00:07:40] Dolores Chapman.

[00:07:41] I want you to meet gunnery Sergeant Ben Nicholton, Sergeant Patrick Bennett

[00:07:45] and Staff Sergeant Alex Bingham.

[00:07:47] You know the other two Cole explained charmingly.

[00:07:50] Come on in fellas.

[00:07:51] Make yourself at home.

[00:07:52] She declared summoning them toward the back of the club.

[00:07:56] Well, I do believe I'll take you up on that offer.

[00:07:59] Lead the way ma'am Bennett replied, providing his arm for Dolores to hook

[00:08:03] her arm through.

[00:08:05] Nicholton chuckled commenting to the guys under his breath.

[00:08:08] Check out Mr. Showboat.

[00:08:11] The men laughed at Bennett following them through the club.

[00:08:14] She led them to the tables in the back corner.

[00:08:17] I reserve this table for you gentlemen for the weekend.

[00:08:20] Relax and enjoy yourselves.

[00:08:21] Dolores offered.

[00:08:23] Thank you, Dolores.

[00:08:24] Cole told her as the men chose seats and sat down.

[00:08:27] As Dolores laughed, another woman approached with a bottle and glasses.

[00:08:32] Look at these beautiful ladies.

[00:08:34] Alex commented.

[00:08:35] Now I know why you put your headquarters up here, Cole.

[00:08:38] Cole chuckled at his comment taking a drink.

[00:08:41] It's definitely a perk, he admitted.

[00:08:43] Bennett poured his drink and drank it, keeping his eyes focused on a woman

[00:08:48] on the dance floor.

[00:08:49] When the song ended, he stood quickly stating, if you guys don't mind, I

[00:08:53] see a pretty lady that looks like she could use a partner.

[00:08:57] Cole chuckled at Bennett as he left.

[00:08:59] It was nice seeing the man relax, but Nicholton looked awkward as he

[00:09:03] sipped his drink.

[00:09:05] Knowing that he knew the details of the wall they were building in the

[00:09:08] Southwest, Cole asked, Ben, how has the work on the wall been going?

[00:09:12] Nicholton replied, slow.

[00:09:15] The rain never seems to end.

[00:09:17] I think this center of the U.S.

[00:09:18] is going to drown.

[00:09:20] Cole nodded.

[00:09:21] Glad the process was being thwarted.

[00:09:24] How's the capital holding up?

[00:09:25] He wondered, pouring another drink.

[00:09:28] That place is beautiful, Nicholton declared, lifting his eyebrows up.

[00:09:32] You been there?

[00:09:33] Alex wondered in awe.

[00:09:35] Overhearing their conversation, Monroe leaned in, wondering, are you

[00:09:39] guys talking about the new capital city in Kansas?

[00:09:42] Yeah, they finally finished it.

[00:09:44] The center is a giant globe.

[00:09:46] The part dug into the ground is where the stands are proceeding and

[00:09:49] the top is all glass.

[00:09:51] Nicholton tried to explain the unique architecture above the sound of

[00:09:54] the thumping music.

[00:09:56] Amazing they built something like that.

[00:09:59] Well, people out here starve, Chappie declared spitefully.

[00:10:02] Monroe scowled at him, correcting, don't interrupt him Chappie, I want

[00:10:07] to hear this.

[00:10:08] Around the glass bowl is a train system and seven more giant half

[00:10:12] domes are dug into the ground.

[00:10:14] They all swivel on gigantic ball bearings so they can move with the

[00:10:17] quakes and the tops close in the heavy rain or tornadoes, Nicholton

[00:10:22] explained.

[00:10:23] Monroe sat back in his chair, nodding his head.

[00:10:26] That is something amazing.

[00:10:29] Wonder why we never built stuff like that before.

[00:10:32] Alex wondered necessity time and money.

[00:10:35] Nicholton answered and labor Chappie added.

[00:10:39] You got that right.

[00:10:39] Cole admitted thinking of all the refugees who labored on that

[00:10:43] project.

[00:10:44] He poured everyone drinks and they each quietly reflected for a moment.

[00:10:48] Nicholton broke the silence, declaring anyway, the wall building

[00:10:52] is slow and wet.

[00:10:54] Good.

[00:10:55] We have to keep it that way.

[00:10:56] Cole replied, pausing for a moment and turning toward Alex.

[00:11:00] Did you hear anything else about your brother?

[00:11:02] Who told you they were with him?

[00:11:04] Chappie chuckled at Cole's question, explaining he wants to know

[00:11:08] if it was the lone survivor.

[00:11:11] I want to know too.

[00:11:12] I think we all do Monroe defended.

[00:11:15] It's just a story.

[00:11:16] Chappie insisted.

[00:11:18] Alex leaned towards them stating, what if I told you she might just

[00:11:22] be the lone survivor?

[00:11:25] Monroe looked at him with a curious grin.

[00:11:28] You're not serious right now.

[00:11:30] Alex poured himself a drink explaining there are rumors, but

[00:11:34] she doesn't talk about it.

[00:11:36] This girl has spirit.

[00:11:37] Hell, Bennett couldn't even get her to crack.

[00:11:41] She went through the reeducation process.

[00:11:43] Cole asked.

[00:11:44] Alex shook his head positively, explaining, yeah, her whole family.

[00:11:49] They helped to organize the riot.

[00:11:51] I've been friends with her for a lot of years and I've never heard her

[00:11:54] talk about the lone survivor story though.

[00:11:57] Then why do you think it's her?

[00:11:58] Monroe asked because I didn't hear it from her.

[00:12:02] I heard it from her family and friends.

[00:12:04] Alex answered.

[00:12:06] Cole is the best interrogator I've ever known.

[00:12:09] If anyone can get her to talk, he can.

[00:12:12] Chappie suggested matter of factly.

[00:12:15] I may be able to get you an opportunity, Cole.

[00:12:17] There's a new round of refugees being chosen for the rescue squad.

[00:12:21] I requested her group makeup.

[00:12:23] One of those teams, Cole informed him.

[00:12:25] I could try to get your squad to go out when we found out where her

[00:12:29] team is going to be.

[00:12:30] Nicholson suggested.

[00:12:32] You think tweet is going to put her on the team.

[00:12:34] Cole asked Alex.

[00:12:36] I hope so.

[00:12:37] Erica's crew is talented in some valuable ways.

[00:12:41] It's up to him and ultimately her now watching Bennett approach.

[00:12:45] The men halted their conversation.

[00:12:48] He was drunk and sweaty from dancing.

[00:12:50] What are you fellas doing over here?

[00:12:52] Swilling shots when there are beautiful women to dance with.

[00:12:56] Come on boys, he told them urging them to join him on the dance floor.

[00:13:01] Nicholson smiled widely, eagerly joining him and the group followed suit.

[00:13:06] Rising to his feet, Cole leaned into Alex and whispered, you set it up.

[00:13:10] And I'll be there.

[00:13:12] Alex nodded at him as they joined the dancing throng of people.

[00:14:31] And nice to have you in the house tonight.

[00:14:33] We also have our guest tonight is Carrie Hansen and she does a what?

[00:14:40] Henson.

[00:14:41] I should say Henson, right?

[00:14:42] Not Hanson.

[00:14:43] Yeah, that's a little correction.

[00:14:47] And she, her website is momsdayprepper.com.

[00:14:50] She's doing mom's day bunker.

[00:14:52] Really cool work.

[00:14:53] So I'm super excited to introduce her to both my changing earth

[00:14:57] community and the prepper broadcasting network.

[00:15:00] So hi Carrie, how are you tonight?

[00:15:02] Hey y'all, I am good.

[00:15:04] I am doing great.

[00:15:05] Thank you for joining us.

[00:15:06] I know you had a long day because you have just a ton of kiddos and so

[00:15:11] I appreciate you power napping for us so that you've got some pep tonight.

[00:15:16] You're welcome.

[00:15:18] You're absolutely.

[00:15:18] I was locked in with my senior last night for project prom.

[00:15:22] So I was up all night with a bunch of 17, 18 year old kids until

[00:15:26] six o'clock this morning.

[00:15:27] So let the good times roll.

[00:15:29] Oh, it was fun though.

[00:15:31] It really was.

[00:15:32] I bet you it was.

[00:15:33] Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:35] So you were out to Prepper Camp last year.

[00:15:38] Was that your first year at Prepper Camp?

[00:15:40] That was my first year.

[00:15:41] Yeah, that was my first experience in the Prepper Camp adventures.

[00:15:45] Yeah.

[00:15:45] What was your first impression of Prepper Camp?

[00:15:52] Well, you know, it actually started before I got there because I have been

[00:15:56] hearing not only you and Chen, but other podcasters that I was listening to as my

[00:16:03] curiosity grew and I really wanted to investigate the community.

[00:16:09] I would always hear stuff about Prepper Camp and how people need to go to

[00:16:13] Prepper Camp and all the things you can learn at Prepper Camp.

[00:16:15] And so I already knew kind of like, this is going to be top notch.

[00:16:20] Like this is, this is going to elevate my preparedness knowledge.

[00:16:24] So I really need to get out there and do that.

[00:16:26] And so we took the leap to go last year.

[00:16:29] I listened to Rick who came on, I think, and spoke with you and he's like,

[00:16:32] yeah, it's kind of what you can expect.

[00:16:34] I said, I'm spying my ticket.

[00:16:35] I'm going to go.

[00:16:36] So we flew because we're in Texas.

[00:16:38] So we flew and then we drove over there and oh my gosh, it's so beautiful.

[00:16:42] That part of the country is just gorgeous and everything was so organized.

[00:16:48] And I'm like a type A person.

[00:16:51] So I'm like, I need to be organized.

[00:16:53] And the classes were plentiful.

[00:16:55] I didn't have time to even go to all of the classes because there were so many of them.

[00:17:00] And the people were very nice and it was great.

[00:17:04] It was a great learning experience.

[00:17:05] It really was perfect.

[00:17:07] Yeah, that's a, we're awful proud of our Prepper Camp,

[00:17:10] keeping our times and everything.

[00:17:12] You know, all the classes start on time.

[00:17:14] Everything goes, we try except for when Chin messes up my computer.

[00:17:22] Keep it spicy.

[00:17:24] Yeah, yeah.

[00:17:25] And we're scrambling.

[00:17:26] So no, but I'm glad that you're then you're coming out again this year, right?

[00:17:31] Yeah, and I think we're going to take a different

[00:17:34] we're going to take a different direction.

[00:17:35] So we're going to actually bring our camper this time with all the kids

[00:17:38] because it was just me and my husband last time and stay on property.

[00:17:42] So we just did the Airbnb thing and drove in.

[00:17:45] But the property is so beautiful and the community is just so welcoming,

[00:17:50] you know, and knowledgeable and kind.

[00:17:53] And so we're like, we just and there were a lot of kids there, too.

[00:17:56] It's like our kids could just run around and have fun.

[00:17:59] And yeah, one way in, one way out.

[00:18:01] So a lot less concerned.

[00:18:03] Wait, wait, wait, wait.

[00:18:04] You're talking about a prep event or all those tinfoil people running around.

[00:18:09] Right. Yeah.

[00:18:10] I will be bringing my hat with me.

[00:18:12] Yes, we do have the tinfoil hat competition.

[00:18:16] So, yeah, you can win good prizes.

[00:18:19] Yeah. Commander.

[00:18:20] Yeah. Saturday night, you can win a bunch of prizes.

[00:18:22] So you got to pay attention in class.

[00:18:25] Think, you know, just go up and ask that instructor,

[00:18:27] hey, what's your question Saturday night going to be?

[00:18:33] And we were like way back up on the hill

[00:18:35] and because we didn't know what was going to happen, right?

[00:18:37] Is our first time there.

[00:18:39] And we were like, oh, oh, what's the answer?

[00:18:41] I know the answer to that. I was in that class.

[00:18:43] Shoot. What was the right?

[00:18:44] Yeah. Rick's like, you guys are scoring a C right now.

[00:18:48] Oh, man. That's funny.

[00:18:50] That's awesome.

[00:18:51] Yeah. All right.

[00:18:53] So we just heard the reading from Verges

[00:18:56] and in this week's read, you know, one of the sergeants in there,

[00:19:01] he's actually in charge of doing like the re the re education program,

[00:19:08] which is taking people who don't think the same way as you

[00:19:13] and kind of remolding them into people that do think like you.

[00:19:18] So public school. Yeah, yeah.

[00:19:23] So, I mean, he gets, you know, to talking about how he's got to take a break

[00:19:27] break from it, he just can't mentally do it anymore.

[00:19:32] And it really got me thinking this would be a great night to have you on

[00:19:36] because it was kind of just the we have to relax at some time or another.

[00:19:41] They've been in this post apocalyptic, demanding world,

[00:19:44] high stress world for years now.

[00:19:47] And it was kind of like a planned party to just find some peace of mind. Right.

[00:19:53] And so, Carrie, why don't you talk to us kind of, you know, your story,

[00:19:58] of course, and then where that has springboarded you.

[00:20:03] And then we can kind of go into the importance of finding these moments

[00:20:07] and how that really plays in.

[00:20:09] Awesome. You are speaking my language. OK, here we go.

[00:20:13] So my whole like, I don't know if you call it a mantra or motto

[00:20:17] is finding beauty in the ashes. OK, so so so many times in our life

[00:20:23] we have stressful moments or traumatic moments,

[00:20:25] and it just feels like our house is burning down around us.

[00:20:28] So if you're Burgess and you've lived in this changing earth world,

[00:20:32] right, that he's and his house is just literally burnt down around him.

[00:20:36] And it's about finding beauty in the ashes.

[00:20:38] So I'll start with my story. And

[00:20:41] when my seven year old son was hit by a one ton truck,

[00:20:46] my motherhood hit rock bottom.

[00:20:49] And I mean, it hit rock bottom and it started in 2015

[00:20:53] when my fourth child, my nine month old precious baby

[00:20:57] was diagnosed with neuroblastoma.

[00:20:59] That is a childhood cancer.

[00:21:01] It is the nastiest of childhood cancers.

[00:21:04] It's just a very angry cancer.

[00:21:08] And we follow that up in 2017

[00:21:11] when this big jerk face called Hurricane Harvey just kind of came up

[00:21:15] the Texas Gulf Coast and it was I mean, no one could have predicted this guy.

[00:21:21] They thought he was going to come over Houston and up through Arkansas.

[00:21:24] Instead, he just decided to hang out and just circled over Houston. Yes.

[00:21:29] 52 inches in like a 48 hour time.

[00:21:34] And it decimated our home.

[00:21:36] I was 37 weeks pregnant with our six baby and any mom out there knows

[00:21:42] you keep everything with every baby.

[00:21:44] You keep the onesies and the baby equipment.

[00:21:47] And it was gone. We had to start all over.

[00:21:49] Oh, my goodness.

[00:21:50] And I didn't have a home to bring my baby to.

[00:21:53] So it was wild.

[00:21:55] So much for the nesting instinct.

[00:21:57] So oh, my gosh.

[00:21:59] Yeah, so much for there's a there's a lot of details in that.

[00:22:02] I had been nesting for so long and it was just gone.

[00:22:05] Like food, we had just butchered an entire cow. Oh,

[00:22:09] and it was gone.

[00:22:10] I mean, it was insane.

[00:22:11] My gosh, a war zone.

[00:22:13] And then in 2019, my husband came very ill and he was in the hospital

[00:22:18] for two months.

[00:22:19] And we are a I'm a stay at home mom primarily.

[00:22:22] So we're a single income family.

[00:22:23] And that was just a very scary time.

[00:22:27] And then you follow that up in 2020

[00:22:30] when my tank, my seven year old was hit by this truck and critically injured.

[00:22:36] Now, Sarah Chen, I should have prefaced this.

[00:22:38] I apologize.

[00:22:39] All of my children are alive.

[00:22:40] They're healthy and they're very spoiled.

[00:22:44] But it was you got a big family, right?

[00:22:47] Six and I got a big family.

[00:22:49] I got six. I got six babies.

[00:22:50] Yeah, they're not all babies anymore, but they're there.

[00:22:53] Sadly enough, they grew up even though we tried our best to not let them do that.

[00:22:59] I know, I know they do.

[00:23:00] My oldest, I'm very proud of.

[00:23:02] He is Army National Guard.

[00:23:04] He's down at the Texas border.

[00:23:06] He's he's doing good.

[00:23:08] He's fighting the fight.

[00:23:09] You know, some days are crazy.

[00:23:10] He'll tell me crazy stories and other days it's like nothing's there.

[00:23:14] So it's kind of a weird, it's kind of weird.

[00:23:17] Prayers for him and his safety there.

[00:23:19] Yeah. Good job.

[00:23:20] When your podcast, he's learned to ask if what if the child is

[00:23:24] if that's his mother or what?

[00:23:26] Yes. Yeah.

[00:23:27] He's learned a lot of Spanish and the Spanish he's learned is like,

[00:23:31] you know, is this your mom?

[00:23:32] Trafficking dad because of trafficking. Yeah.

[00:23:36] Yeah.

[00:23:36] Harder also sends her blessings for him.

[00:23:41] In our chat room.

[00:23:42] No, I think so.

[00:23:43] Yeah, he's doing great.

[00:23:46] So all this to say, you guys was, man, if you're hit rock bottom,

[00:23:51] there's nowhere to go but up. Right.

[00:23:53] So I'm a sixth generation Texan.

[00:23:55] I pulled my boots up by my bootstraps and I said,

[00:23:58] we're going to make something out of this.

[00:23:59] And the seed was planted in my imagination to combine my,

[00:24:04] you know, knowledge and information from the prepper community with motherhood.

[00:24:09] And I've created this mom's day prepper and I've coined these moments,

[00:24:14] mom's day moments, these doomsday attacks on our motherhood,

[00:24:19] these attacks that come from outside sources that you can't see,

[00:24:22] they're coming at you.

[00:24:24] It's like an atomic bomb hits you. Right.

[00:24:26] And you can't see it, can't predict it.

[00:24:29] And how to find purpose in that pain.

[00:24:33] And there are strategies as moms that we can utilize.

[00:24:39] You know, I think the number one prep that I like to tell moms

[00:24:43] and my community is spirituality.

[00:24:46] I think if you have a strong foundation of spirituality and listen,

[00:24:50] y'all, I am not evangelical.

[00:24:52] I'm not even I'm not a theologian. Right.

[00:24:55] I just I just know that my foundation rests with Jesus Christ and the Father,

[00:25:00] the Son of the Holy Spirit.

[00:25:01] But I'm going to love you wherever you're at.

[00:25:03] Yeah. I just know that my experience on the pediatric oncology floor

[00:25:08] was it solidified the importance of spirituality

[00:25:12] because childhood cancer does not discriminate.

[00:25:15] It does not discriminate against color, economic status,

[00:25:20] gender, religion.

[00:25:22] But those moms and those families that had some sort of faith

[00:25:27] to hold them together were the ones that got through it.

[00:25:31] No matter what the outcome was for their child, they got through it much easier.

[00:25:35] Right. So it's a it's just about the strategies to prepare yourself

[00:25:41] for those moments you can't predict, which is exactly what you do

[00:25:43] in the proper community. Right.

[00:25:45] Yes. That like we're preparing for multiple events

[00:25:49] that possibly could happen.

[00:25:51] Some of them probably not, but possibly they could happen. Right. Right.

[00:25:55] So it's just about combining those two things together and, you know,

[00:25:59] your own personal disaster is the event that is most likely to hit you.

[00:26:04] Like we can pretty much say you're going to have a personal disaster

[00:26:07] at some time in your life. Oh, yeah.

[00:26:09] You know, nobody.

[00:26:10] So so even just preparing be a prepper on that level.

[00:26:14] I mean, imagine, you know, one of your kids goes down.

[00:26:17] At least you have a kitchen full of food that you can eat on for a while.

[00:26:20] So you don't have to worry about that stress on top of what's going on

[00:26:24] when you're experiencing this horrible moment, you know.

[00:26:28] I'm so glad you said that, because one of my other preps is community

[00:26:33] and community isn't always easy for people.

[00:26:36] For me, it's super easy.

[00:26:37] I'm an extrovert. I've been an actor for 30 years.

[00:26:40] I just I love people, but it's not easy for everyone

[00:26:44] to go out and make friends, especially when you're an adult. Right.

[00:26:47] You don't go up to someone in the grocery store and be like,

[00:26:50] you want to be my friend? You know, like you don't you don't do that.

[00:26:54] So it's it's a little trickier.

[00:26:56] But for 10 months that we were being treated for cancer,

[00:27:00] I didn't go to the grocery store once we had meals delivered to us

[00:27:03] nonstop again with Harvey, again with my husband's illness, again

[00:27:07] with the tank, you know, like communities super important.

[00:27:12] And I feel you guys got to correct me on this, but I feel like

[00:27:16] some of the podcasts and YouTube channels I've listened to.

[00:27:20] It's a little there's like a line drawn in the sand, like

[00:27:24] some people don't want to share that their preppers, they don't want

[00:27:28] they don't want anyone to know.

[00:27:30] But then some people are like the more the merrier.

[00:27:33] Big gatekeepers thinking that like that's an important role

[00:27:36] when like the more people that you can have

[00:27:39] into the preparedness community, the better.

[00:27:41] So I am welcoming for everyone

[00:27:46] because I know where I started my journey and everybody starts their journey

[00:27:49] somewhere. So, yeah, yeah.

[00:27:52] The community should welcome and people should be vetted.

[00:27:56] But it should be welcoming, you know?

[00:27:59] Yeah, I would I would argue community is insurmountable to your survival

[00:28:05] under any kind of attack, whether it's a mom's day moment like mine

[00:28:09] or the pandemic or whatever, you know, whatever may come your way.

[00:28:15] We're not meant as humans to be alone.

[00:28:18] Right. We're we're meant to travel in herds, you know?

[00:28:21] And so I would be there.

[00:28:22] I would argue. Yeah, I would argue community is real important.

[00:28:25] Well, I always say like even when my kids just have a cold, right?

[00:28:29] I would take that 100 percent.

[00:28:31] I would take that from them if I could hands down.

[00:28:34] Like my idea of hell is my children being endlessly sick.

[00:28:38] And so that's why some of the episodes are very challenging.

[00:28:45] I appreciate you being able to bring those stories to life, though,

[00:28:51] and those people being willing to share their experiences

[00:28:55] because like I was telling you in the green room, there's pieces

[00:28:58] that I've taken with me to my self-defense,

[00:29:02] where I teach other people how to, you know, be aware

[00:29:06] of what's going on around them.

[00:29:08] And the fentanyl story

[00:29:11] in particular is one that made a big impact.

[00:29:15] So I do really appreciate that you both your show,

[00:29:19] your ability to share your experiences with others.

[00:29:23] And even though that is a difficult topic, it gets to the point

[00:29:27] where it's like almost a hush, hush topic

[00:29:30] because nobody really wants to experience that.

[00:29:33] Yeah, yeah, absolutely.

[00:29:35] And I remember thinking, surely I'm not the only mom out there.

[00:29:39] And so I started the Moms Day Bunker podcast really as a vehicle

[00:29:44] for other moms to be able to share their story so that we can learn.

[00:29:49] You know, and they're not the coolest other things that I'm seeing out of it.

[00:29:52] And from hearing from your shows is that it's also giving people a way

[00:29:56] to connect about like treatment procedures and stuff like that.

[00:30:00] So if you're not willing to talk about it,

[00:30:02] then you don't know what somebody else is experiencing.

[00:30:04] You don't know what that other person's experiencing or this

[00:30:07] this really, you know, alternative option out there.

[00:30:11] So if the conversation gets shut down at a grassroots level,

[00:30:14] that doesn't allow the opportunity for other moms to learn

[00:30:17] from other people's experiences.

[00:30:19] So you're also providing that, which is great job.

[00:30:23] Thank you. Podcast.

[00:30:25] Thank you so, so much.

[00:30:26] It's been a labor of love.

[00:30:28] Yeah, because I've had lots of tears.

[00:30:30] Yeah. Tears have been shed, not just because of the story,

[00:30:33] because it's so hard. Like, how do you do it, Sarah? Oh my gosh.

[00:30:36] So hard. So much work.

[00:30:39] You just get in the flow.

[00:30:41] You know, I mean, the more you do, the more you do, the more you do,

[00:30:44] the more you do in life.

[00:30:44] So yeah, that's true. That's true.

[00:30:47] Yeah. And also you're doing Voices Now for the Changing Earth

[00:30:51] audio drama as well.

[00:30:52] So you guys got to look out for Carrie and her kids in the audio drama.

[00:30:56] So I very much appreciate that.

[00:30:58] Of course. Yeah.

[00:31:00] Don't tell my agent.

[00:31:01] She'll be like, are you paid for that?

[00:31:04] All volunteers.

[00:31:07] Yes, this is a freebie.

[00:31:08] Yeah, I know it's awesome. It's fun.

[00:31:09] I'm honored to be a part of it. It's really cool.

[00:31:11] I appreciate it big time.

[00:31:13] So the other interesting tidbit that I picked up from your podcast

[00:31:17] is I'm also a Christian.

[00:31:20] And so I'll say a lot of times, you know,

[00:31:22] we have challenges from the Lord.

[00:31:24] We're strong enough, you know, to handle those and and and her,

[00:31:29] you know, as horrific as that must be, it like gives us strength

[00:31:32] to be able to say that.

[00:31:33] But when you're on the receiving side of that statement

[00:31:37] and you don't want to be strong anymore because you're dealing

[00:31:40] with a nightmare that you'd never want to live through.

[00:31:45] It made me realize a lot like just being there for people

[00:31:48] and maybe saying nothing at all, but just listening is a better way to go

[00:31:52] than saying something like to that regard.

[00:31:55] Yes, please, please, please.

[00:31:57] Never say never say it's going to be OK.

[00:32:00] God's got this.

[00:32:01] God doesn't give you more than you can handle,

[00:32:03] because those are shaming statements. Yes.

[00:32:06] Like when you're in the trauma of sentinel and I was in the ditch

[00:32:11] holding my seven year old boy critically injured,

[00:32:14] broken, 12 broken bones, four lacerated organs instantaneously.

[00:32:20] The last thing I needed was for someone to say it's going to be OK.

[00:32:25] Right. I needed someone to just be in it.

[00:32:29] Just yes, just be present.

[00:32:31] Sarah, yes, like just be present with me in that time.

[00:32:37] And you want to talk about an angry mom.

[00:32:40] I was I was cursing the man who hit him.

[00:32:43] Yeah, everything you've already been through.

[00:32:46] I was cursing my husband who was supposed to be watching them.

[00:32:48] I was cursing God and I was doing it publicly.

[00:32:52] I was doing it publicly and it wasn't pretty.

[00:32:54] And there's a lot of self-righteous Christians out there who are like,

[00:32:58] oh, you're not pretty anymore.

[00:33:00] There's not like a message of hope in your tragedy.

[00:33:03] So I'm going to go away. Yes.

[00:33:05] And you know what? That's OK, because my God's bigger than those people.

[00:33:09] And we're on you know, God and I have a very

[00:33:13] tumultuous relationship right now, because it's it's like why?

[00:33:16] What the heck, man?

[00:33:17] These precious babies are getting attacked over and over and over again.

[00:33:21] And cancer is no joke.

[00:33:22] And natural disasters are no joke.

[00:33:25] Like it is it's a serious war zone when a natural disaster happens.

[00:33:31] And and yeah, I was I was an angry.

[00:33:34] Well, I appreciate that because, you know, as as somebody who's,

[00:33:38] you know, wants to be supportive of a friend

[00:33:40] and you've never personally experienced something like that.

[00:33:43] You've never even been with anybody.

[00:33:44] And now here is your good friend who's experiencing this

[00:33:48] and to know as an individual how to interact appropriately

[00:33:53] with that individual can be a challenge on their own right.

[00:33:55] You know? Yeah.

[00:33:57] And so that is very enlightening.

[00:34:02] It's good. It's good.

[00:34:04] Good stuff. Yeah, you guys got to check out.

[00:34:06] Carrie's podcast. You would you'll absolutely love it

[00:34:10] and get your clean access.

[00:34:12] Caution. Yeah, they're not all sad.

[00:34:15] I got to say, we really aren't all sad.

[00:34:17] It's just the two that I really pushed Sarah to listen to

[00:34:20] were probably the saddest.

[00:34:22] What?

[00:34:24] No, I didn't.

[00:34:25] I appreciate it. Yeah.

[00:34:27] And they were there.

[00:34:29] They were. Yeah.

[00:34:32] I'm not kidding. They were good.

[00:34:33] Very emotionally.

[00:34:34] You know, I'm trying to pick up the phone for work.

[00:34:37] Hello. Thank you for calling me.

[00:34:41] Are you OK? Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine.

[00:34:43] So when you're much wisdom in them, though, you know, it's like.

[00:34:48] Yeah. And that's what I'm saying.

[00:34:50] Like worth it.

[00:34:51] You have to go through the experience to be able to learn the wisdom

[00:34:56] on the other side. We don't we don't learn without challenges.

[00:34:59] So it's great work.

[00:35:02] OK, so when you're in the middle of an incident

[00:35:06] where you are just angry with everything.

[00:35:09] How do you get a moment to just take a break for mama?

[00:35:14] Because, right, you can't constantly.

[00:35:19] Well, when my son was little, the Fletcher, when he was a baby,

[00:35:24] he cried all the time.

[00:35:27] He had gas, which really bad gas.

[00:35:28] He cried and he cried and he cried and cried and cried and cried

[00:35:32] and he would sleep for an hour long only.

[00:35:38] Only until he was like three months old, then he went to two hours.

[00:35:43] You know, it was just really miserable for you.

[00:35:48] Yes, I get it.

[00:35:50] Hindsight, I probably should have taken him to a chiropractor

[00:35:54] at that point. Yeah.

[00:35:56] But we didn't know that.

[00:35:57] And my mom's boyfriend actually was really good

[00:36:00] at tweaking his body around and getting him to to gas out

[00:36:04] and things like that.

[00:36:05] So anyway, there were some nights

[00:36:08] when I held that kid in such frustration

[00:36:12] that I knew for his sake, I had to walk away.

[00:36:17] Yeah. You know how?

[00:36:20] Let's talk a little bit about like those types of moments

[00:36:23] and how you find that personal when you're just in so much stress.

[00:36:29] Yeah. You got to have a smile. Absolutely.

[00:36:31] So I call those mini mom's day moments, those like mini moments

[00:36:35] through life that you just think you're never going to get through

[00:36:37] and you want to pull your hair out and you're sleep deprived.

[00:36:40] Right. Yes, right. Exactly.

[00:36:43] So one of the one of the six preps that I talk about is awareness.

[00:36:48] And awareness is a twofold prep for motherhood.

[00:36:51] One, you have to be aware of your world.

[00:36:54] You have to be aware of the AI and what that means

[00:36:57] and food shortages and what that means and human trafficking

[00:37:00] and what that means. But you also have to have self awareness.

[00:37:04] And self awareness is difficult because one, you have to have courage

[00:37:09] to look into and and become aware of yourself.

[00:37:14] Right. That's self awareness.

[00:37:18] And you have to be willing to investigate the nervous system.

[00:37:23] So how your nervous system reacts to stress

[00:37:27] and to crisis is is huge in surviving a mini mom's day moment

[00:37:33] or a mom's day moment or a freaking asteroid that's pummeling to the earth

[00:37:38] because it doesn't matter.

[00:37:39] I mean, it's so cinematic, you guys.

[00:37:41] It's so cinematic.

[00:37:42] The most the loudest, the most arrogant, the one that has all the toys,

[00:37:46] all the guns, all the food in any movie is the first one to die.

[00:37:50] Right. Why is that?

[00:37:52] Because their nervous system is is unchanneled.

[00:37:57] So you're going to go into a freeze, flight, fawn or freeze fight,

[00:38:02] fawn, freeze, fly on my say I do the for anyways.

[00:38:09] You have your nervous system is going to drive

[00:38:14] how you react to these stressful moments.

[00:38:18] And if you don't have a handle on that, if you've never investigated it,

[00:38:22] if you've never experienced crisis like I have.

[00:38:25] It's it's difficult.

[00:38:26] I mean, you could shut down like had I not gone through the things

[00:38:30] I went through when tank was hit by that car,

[00:38:32] I could have easily just shut down.

[00:38:37] Right. And that might look like fainting.

[00:38:40] It might have looked like screaming uncontrollably.

[00:38:43] It might have looked like going into shock.

[00:38:47] You know, your body can go into physical shock for these things.

[00:38:50] But because I was so self aware,

[00:38:53] and I had done a lot of work in that trauma healing

[00:38:57] and trauma processing from past traumas, and we all have trauma.

[00:39:01] Like, I hate throwing that word around because it's so overly used these days.

[00:39:07] You can call it stress.

[00:39:09] You can call it crisis.

[00:39:10] You can call it whatever, you know.

[00:39:12] Right. But but we had that old crap moment.

[00:39:15] Yeah, we have wounds, right?

[00:39:17] We have these these wounds that we carry.

[00:39:19] And sometimes we don't know the words.

[00:39:21] We carry and sometimes we don't know that we're carrying them until we're hit

[00:39:26] literally by car. Right.

[00:39:28] And how our nervous system reacts is going to really predict

[00:39:33] the outcome of the situation.

[00:39:36] So I have to laugh sometimes.

[00:39:38] I was on this home studying group on Facebook

[00:39:42] and someone was like, what's the number one skill you need?

[00:39:45] And the number one skill I put in the comments was you need to know

[00:39:48] your nervous system.

[00:39:50] If you don't have a handle on how you react in crisis,

[00:39:53] you might as well just put your guns up for sale.

[00:39:57] It's not going to matter.

[00:39:58] It does not going to matter how much water you have stocked.

[00:40:00] It's not going to matter how much food you have stocked.

[00:40:02] It really isn't. You're going to lose your mind.

[00:40:04] Yeah, you've got you've got to be able to understand

[00:40:07] how you are going to process stress, crisis, trauma.

[00:40:11] And I mean, if we're talking SHTF, that's pretty severe.

[00:40:14] That's a big T trauma.

[00:40:16] Yes, that is a huge T.

[00:40:18] That's not like I got a fender bender.

[00:40:20] Oh, no. You know, it's like, no.

[00:40:22] Your whole world just got rocked out of everything

[00:40:25] and you're going to have to just start all over again.

[00:40:28] Everything you know, everything that's familiar to you is done.

[00:40:31] That's why I like the I like what I would call like

[00:40:35] like survivalist or bushcraft.

[00:40:36] Like those people have my respect.

[00:40:38] You can drop them in the middle of a mountain range

[00:40:40] with a Swiss army knife and they're going to become like

[00:40:43] Swiss Family Robinson and they're going to write this whole tree house

[00:40:48] man. Those people are amazing.

[00:40:49] I have respect.

[00:40:50] Yeah, those are the people that will survive.

[00:40:52] Yeah, because you can take their nervous system,

[00:40:54] which is their familiarity. Right.

[00:40:56] You have your your pantry with all your canned goods

[00:40:59] and you have your closet with all your guns

[00:41:00] and you have your water storage and you have all these things

[00:41:02] that's familiar to you.

[00:41:04] And you take your nervous system out of that

[00:41:07] and you place it in the middle of a crisis, a fire,

[00:41:10] earthquake or whatever.

[00:41:12] Your nervous system is going to go, but where's where's my blankie?

[00:41:16] Right. Right.

[00:41:17] Where's my blank?

[00:41:18] I need my blankie in your blankie is not going to be there.

[00:41:21] So I would I would say in any moment, any mom's day moment,

[00:41:25] many moms a moment that self-awareness is super critical.

[00:41:29] That's I preach it big time and when I'm doing self-defense

[00:41:34] because before you're in that self-defense moment, you

[00:41:38] you don't even know the amount of different adrenaline

[00:41:42] that's just going to be coursing through you.

[00:41:45] So if you don't take the time to get into a room

[00:41:47] where you're just practicing and potentially could get hit

[00:41:50] in the mouth kind of thing, you know, yeah.

[00:41:52] When you're out there on the street in your face with the moment,

[00:41:55] it's going to be that much worse.

[00:41:57] Like you need some kind of muscle memory built

[00:42:00] to be able to handle that situation when you're out on the street.

[00:42:04] So that's why I'm a big proponent of you've got to constantly

[00:42:08] be self-aware, check your stress levels and know how to handle

[00:42:12] that adrenal stress in the moment.

[00:42:14] Yes, yeah, yeah, yes, 100 percent.

[00:42:17] It's super easy to do.

[00:42:19] You just I mean, there's like a couple of like tests you can take,

[00:42:22] psychology tests you can take online that kind of lead

[00:42:25] that will lean towards how you're going to respond.

[00:42:28] But then also if you just think back in your own history

[00:42:31] and your own past, that there was a hard moment and you really

[00:42:35] meditate and look in the mirror of how you reacted to that moment.

[00:42:40] That's going to give you a really good idea

[00:42:43] of how you're going to react in an S.H.T.F. situation.

[00:42:46] It's funny because you told me how you first started

[00:42:50] listening to me was on Duff and Dale's show, right?

[00:42:54] Yeah, yeah. And Brian Duff is absolutely amazing

[00:42:59] to talk to as far as where he's come with his PTSD

[00:43:04] and being able to rationalize

[00:43:08] that stress that he went through in his past times.

[00:43:11] He's he's incredible.

[00:43:12] It's taught me things on how to regulate my anger, stuff like that.

[00:43:17] You know, be able to recognize those emotions and do that self analysis.

[00:43:21] You're you're right on with that.

[00:43:24] That's right on point.

[00:43:25] Yeah, thank you. Yeah.

[00:43:27] You don't if you don't know and then you get thrown out to the wolves.

[00:43:31] You're gone. Good luck. You're gone.

[00:43:34] I mean, and then everyone gets to benefit from your storages

[00:43:36] because like it really I know it's probably a terrible thing to say.

[00:43:41] But it's true.

[00:43:42] I mean, it's so cinematic. It's so cinematic.

[00:43:45] It is. And it's a shame, too, because that a lot of the,

[00:43:49] you know, I've been to a lot of the conventions

[00:43:53] and at the conventions, there's a whole lot of people

[00:43:55] who talk a really big talk.

[00:43:59] And then, you know, they're talking about their go bags

[00:44:03] and they're this and that.

[00:44:04] And they're overweight with a smoothie or whatever in their hand.

[00:44:09] And you're just like, really?

[00:44:13] Because, you know, how far can you walk with that bag?

[00:44:17] I mean, sorry to say, but it's easy.

[00:44:20] Yes. Easy to prep with a credit card.

[00:44:22] It's hard to prep with your mind. Right. Yes.

[00:44:25] Yeah. And there's no no credit card, no fortune teller,

[00:44:30] no nothing that could have ever prepared me for what was going to happen.

[00:44:35] When when an ER doctor walks into the room and you have your chunky

[00:44:38] nine month old baby there that looks perfectly healthy,

[00:44:41] perfectly pink, full head of black hair and says

[00:44:44] your baby is going to die before his first birthday.

[00:44:48] It does not matter.

[00:44:49] You cannot I cannot express or I don't have the language yet to say

[00:44:56] you you can't prepare yourself.

[00:44:58] You can be cocky as all get out if you want.

[00:45:02] But when that happens, you've got to know how your how your body's going.

[00:45:06] You can't I could you can't buy a cure for childhood cancer.

[00:45:11] I mean, he's my million dollar baby.

[00:45:12] I won't tell you all that.

[00:45:13] One of my other preps is finances.

[00:45:15] You know, we hear that we hear that because when there's not an amount

[00:45:20] you will not pay to save your child.

[00:45:24] And if you don't have the money and you're living paycheck to paycheck,

[00:45:27] like it gets real hard.

[00:45:29] It gets real hard, y'all.

[00:45:30] I spent fifteen hundred dollars in ten months on a parking spot. Oh.

[00:45:36] Because we're at a med center here in Houston is you have to pay for parking.

[00:45:40] Uh huh. What else are you going to do?

[00:45:42] I got to be there. I got to save my kid. Right.

[00:45:44] So like you have to have those finances in order.

[00:45:47] Like you have screwed up is that reality, too.

[00:45:51] Oh, yeah. You know, yeah.

[00:45:54] Societal reflection.

[00:45:56] I guess we'll have to do a whole nother show on that.

[00:45:59] But for our right.

[00:46:01] But no, I think it real.

[00:46:02] We are glad you were going to have you back on before this season's over

[00:46:07] for sure, because yeah, Carrie's good people, everybody.

[00:46:11] So feel free to head over to her website.

[00:46:15] Momsdayprepper.com all one in the show notes today in the show.

[00:46:21] It's in the live chat link, and I'll put it up to you on my blog

[00:46:26] over at ChangeInnerSeries.com.

[00:46:28] Thank you. Thank you so much for your support, Sarah and Jen.

[00:46:31] Thank you for just letting me rattle on here and.

[00:46:35] No, no. Good stuff.

[00:46:37] You know, like I say, the stories that

[00:46:42] are hard to hear are sometimes the most important to hear.

[00:46:47] And being alone, like you say, we're social creatures

[00:46:52] and being alone within that construct when you're dealing with that

[00:46:56] mom's day event or dad's day event, you know, for that matter.

[00:46:59] Right. Yeah, really. Yeah.

[00:47:00] That's a whole other section to this. Yeah.

[00:47:03] I mean, and to have that feeling of I'm alone in this, I'm on my own.

[00:47:08] There's nobody that's ever gone through that.

[00:47:10] No, it's so not true.

[00:47:11] And just being able to enlighten people with those amazing,

[00:47:15] incredible stories of those women who are so strong to be,

[00:47:18] you know, to have gone through what they went through.

[00:47:22] It just makes me thank the Lord 100 times over for, you know,

[00:47:25] both the boys have five or 10 fingers, 10 toes, you know,

[00:47:30] smiling like boys.

[00:47:32] Amen. Yeah. Amen.

[00:47:35] Thank you, God, for my blessing.

[00:47:36] So yeah, thank you so much for sharing. Of course.

[00:47:41] All right, guys, so go check out Carrie.

[00:47:42] Carrie's going to stick around for changing Earth news,

[00:47:45] so we're going to go ahead and roll that music.

[00:47:53] Dream survive thrive.

[00:47:58] This is changing Earth news.

[00:48:06] Are changing Earth news today is April 21st,

[00:48:10] 2024, and the sun's doing got some sunspots on it.

[00:48:15] But it's minimal activity right now.

[00:48:18] We are watching a coronal hole come into view.

[00:48:21] So we'll be on Earthquake Watch this week.

[00:48:24] So if you guys are in vulnerable areas, please be aware

[00:48:28] that we are on Earthquake Watch this week, particularly for my listeners

[00:48:33] in Indonesia and the Philippines.

[00:48:36] Be aware this week we are on Earthquake Watch.

[00:48:40] April 15th, 2024, there was three hundred and thirty two earthquakes.

[00:48:44] I were two point or bigger, the biggest of which was a five point nine

[00:48:48] in the Philippine Sea.

[00:48:51] Oh, my gosh, another name that I practiced before the show

[00:48:55] in Margette, KwaZulu, Natal, South Africa.

[00:49:00] There was heavy rains caused by flooding there.

[00:49:03] There was also heavy rain activity in Kazakhstan.

[00:49:07] That's the area of southern Russia.

[00:49:10] That's been flooding southern Russia, northern Kazakhstan.

[00:49:14] It is a huge humanitarian problem out there.

[00:49:17] If you guys go over to YouTube and just look up the pictures

[00:49:21] of the flooding in Russia, whole communities down underwater.

[00:49:25] It is it is not fixing itself.

[00:49:27] It is just becoming worse.

[00:49:30] In Sadal, Louisiana, there was one hundred

[00:49:33] to eleven to one hundred and thirty five mile an hour winds

[00:49:37] that flipped the SUV with a woman inside of it.

[00:49:39] We had some pretty serious weather come through Texas.

[00:49:43] And you, Carrie, in the Houston area.

[00:49:46] Yeah, we got good rain.

[00:49:47] Yeah, you guys just got creamed as well.

[00:49:50] The storm system that was before this one that just hit us.

[00:49:54] Did you get as cold down there?

[00:49:56] We're cold right now.

[00:49:58] We're 70, which is cold for us.

[00:50:00] OK, yeah, we're we're like, yeah, in the 60s, 50s, 60s.

[00:50:05] But that the storm system that was right before that one

[00:50:07] hit Houston pretty good, too.

[00:50:10] All right.

[00:50:11] On April 16th, 2024, 365 earthquakes are two point or bigger,

[00:50:16] biggest of which was a five point five in the North Pacific Ocean.

[00:50:19] Not a whole lot going on that day other than earthquake activity.

[00:50:24] Oh, and ongoing problems like in Russia and Dubai.

[00:50:29] We're going to get into Dubai in a minute.

[00:50:31] April 17th, 2024, there was three hundred and eighty three earthquakes

[00:50:35] that were two point or bigger, the biggest of which was a six point

[00:50:38] three in the Philippine Sea near Japan.

[00:50:40] There was a four point nine earthquake in northern California

[00:50:44] along the Cascadian subduction zone.

[00:50:48] The flooding in Dubai and Oman is also continuing to grow worse.

[00:50:53] Salem, Iowa, they had a destructive tornado touchdown there

[00:50:57] and then they had 14 confirmed tornado touchdowns

[00:51:00] throughout the Midwest on the 17th of April.

[00:51:04] Edmonton, Canada, they had a natural gas pipeline rupture,

[00:51:08] which prompted wildfire responses to that activity.

[00:51:12] And Mexico has also been having a record heat wave causing wildfires there.

[00:51:17] On the 18th of April, there was four hundred and seventy seven earthquakes

[00:51:21] over two point or bigger, biggest of which was a five point six in Baja, Mexico.

[00:51:25] There is also a six point six earthquake off the coast of Japan that day.

[00:51:30] And that is the day that Mount Rang in Indonesia erupted

[00:51:33] a huge eruption. It's on its own little tiny island.

[00:51:36] So it prompted tsunami concerns for Indonesia.

[00:51:41] Also, there was another tornado touchdown in Windham, Ohio.

[00:51:46] On the 19th of April, there was four hundred and six earthquakes

[00:51:49] or two point or bigger, biggest of which was a five point seven

[00:51:52] in the South Pacific Ocean by the loyalty islands.

[00:51:56] Indonesia is evacuating thousands as Mount Rang erupts again.

[00:52:01] So that is an ongoing incident over there.

[00:52:03] I checked the maps today and it is still erupting today.

[00:52:07] There's been massive flooding in Afghanistan and Pakistan

[00:52:10] that took out one hundred and thirty five people.

[00:52:13] And the Russian flooding is still escalating, as I mentioned before.

[00:52:18] They're trying to pump, literally use pumps to pump water out of the area.

[00:52:23] And they're just up against it.

[00:52:25] There was a bunch of wildfires that broke out in Wisconsin.

[00:52:28] And then on the 20th of April, there was three hundred

[00:52:31] and eighty earthquakes or two point or bigger,

[00:52:34] the biggest of which was a five point oh in the Philippine Sea

[00:52:37] near the North Mariana Islands.

[00:52:39] There was a two point three earthquake in southern Illinois by woodlawn.

[00:52:43] Indonesia erupting again.

[00:52:48] So they're really concerned about these tsunamis coming out.

[00:52:51] Indonesia's big time Mount Rang in the news right now.

[00:52:55] Dubai is a whole nother story.

[00:52:57] They're having the worst rainfall they've had in 75 years.

[00:53:01] They got one year's worth of rain in one day.

[00:53:06] So how is that possible?

[00:53:08] They were testing a new type of cloud seeding,

[00:53:12] which also speaks to you got to go over and listen to Ben, of course.

[00:53:16] But on a lot of our climate models, they're taking the sun.

[00:53:20] They don't even take into account the sun's activity.

[00:53:23] And his argument has always been that the sun's electrical energy

[00:53:28] helps us, you know, fuels our storm systems here.

[00:53:32] And he's amazing scientists over at Suspicious Observers

[00:53:37] and can do a lot better job of explaining that than me.

[00:53:40] But this new technique that they're using for cloud seeding

[00:53:43] actually charges the clouds.

[00:53:46] So they're using electricity to charge the atmosphere to cause rainfall.

[00:53:51] And it worked really well.

[00:53:54] It worked much better than they thought it would.

[00:53:57] And now the whole city and Oman is just completely flooded.

[00:54:01] So not only does it lend itself to

[00:54:05] the disaster that's going on in Dubai, but also Ben is just using it as,

[00:54:12] you know, see the positive effects that this has.

[00:54:15] We know the sun should be involved in our climate models,

[00:54:18] not using these outdated ones with the carbon dating and all of this mess

[00:54:22] that is just inaccurate.

[00:54:25] In Queensland, they are bracing for more rain.

[00:54:28] They got another cyclone headed their way.

[00:54:30] And in Guangdong, China, they had two hundred and one kilometer per hour

[00:54:35] winds that were literally blowing homes away.

[00:54:38] They got hit really hard over there on April 21st of 24.

[00:54:42] There was three hundred eighty earthquakes.

[00:54:44] That's today, in case you're wondering,

[00:54:47] biggest of which was a five point four in the island area.

[00:54:52] There is eruption near Grindavik in Iceland again.

[00:54:55] They have some really cool pictures of the northern lights

[00:54:58] over top of the eruptions that are going on there.

[00:55:01] If you want to go check that out.

[00:55:02] Nairobi has also seen some heavy rain.

[00:55:05] They're dealing with some flooding over there.

[00:55:07] And China's in southern China, they're also having to evacuate

[00:55:11] residents due to heavy flooding in the area on our volcano watch this week.

[00:55:17] We have 32 erupting volcanoes on our planet right now,

[00:55:21] which is definitely topping off the most that I've ever seen

[00:55:26] in about the last five years or four years or so of recording

[00:55:30] how much volcanic activity we have on the planet.

[00:55:33] So definitely a day to mark down.

[00:55:37] We have 18 showing minor activity.

[00:55:40] So that's down one and the erupting is up one.

[00:55:43] So we didn't add any more volcanoes to the overall list.

[00:55:46] But we do have 32 erupting and then 29 showing unrest.

[00:55:51] That's the same number as before.

[00:55:53] Wildfire activity in the United States.

[00:55:55] We're looking pretty darn good right now.

[00:55:57] We have five thousand nine hundred nineteen acres on fire.

[00:56:00] Seventeen new fires, three are large active fires,

[00:56:04] and 21 fires are contained right now.

[00:56:07] Kansas is our number one state.

[00:56:09] And honestly, I don't see it in the news very much.

[00:56:11] I didn't see a lot of headlines about it.

[00:56:13] So I'm thinking maybe it's just prairie land

[00:56:15] or something like that.

[00:56:17] It's one new active fire or one new fire, one active fire.

[00:56:23] Five thousand five hundred sixty nine acres.

[00:56:25] Both of those are contained.

[00:56:27] North Carolina is still second on the list, Jen.

[00:56:31] One new fire, one active, 220 acres only.

[00:56:35] And then Virginia is still number three on the list

[00:56:38] with three new fires, one active, 130 acres on fire.

[00:56:44] And two of those fires are contained.

[00:56:47] So there we go. Big news of the week was definitely

[00:56:49] on Mount Rang in Indonesia.

[00:56:52] Ah, the chem the chem trail stuff in Dubai.

[00:56:56] I mean, that's just, you know, let's play God.

[00:57:00] And then it totally backfires.

[00:57:03] Ouch. So probably playing God's not such a good idea, I don't think.

[00:57:11] Right. I mean, the whole town is now flooded.

[00:57:13] People are like running around on jet skis and stuff.

[00:57:17] That falls under. Be careful what you wish for. Right.

[00:57:20] Yeah, yeah. You just might get it.

[00:57:26] So I always keep my eye on Mount Paley, too.

[00:57:29] There's a prophet Edgar Cayce and he's like one of the Suvius

[00:57:33] and Paley are erupting at the same time.

[00:57:36] That'll be big trouble for Nevada and the West Coast, the United States.

[00:57:40] So I always keep my eye on that, too.

[00:57:41] Paley is still on the list, but

[00:57:45] the Suvius hasn't been on the list for a while.

[00:57:48] Campi Flegre is and that's another super volcano over there in Italy

[00:57:52] that we definitely have eyes on.

[00:57:54] And it's still on the active list as well. So.

[00:57:57] Rocking and rolling with earthquake risks,

[00:58:00] it could make for a fun week, I'm just saying.

[00:58:06] All righty, guys, well, that's all I got for you tonight, Carrie.

[00:58:09] Again, thank you for your time.

[00:58:11] I can't wait to have you back on.

[00:58:13] Hopefully everybody goes over and checks it out, guys.

[00:58:15] I wouldn't steer you wrong. Carrie's good people.

[00:58:18] So thank you so much. Thank you. You got it.

[00:58:21] You got it. And as a guy on the show right now,

[00:58:24] don't think you only have to be a mom to listen to the show.

[00:58:27] It was pretty riveting.

[00:58:28] So everybody can take a listen.

[00:58:31] Thank you, Chad. Yeah, thank you so much.

[00:58:34] All right, guys, until next week, remember, dream.

[00:58:38] Survive.

[00:58:40] Drive.

[00:58:41] Boom.

[00:58:44] I didn't even prepare for that.

[00:58:46] So that's beautiful.

[00:58:47] Beautiful. That was the test.

[00:58:49] I was met with every guest.

[00:58:51] Test.

[00:58:52] That you were met me. That's awesome.

[00:58:53] Yeah, that's right.

[00:58:55] All right, guys, have a great week.

[00:58:57] We'll see you next week.
