[00:00:01] Welcome to another episode of The Strange Truth. I'm your host, Carl B., and hopefully everyone's having an okay week.

[00:00:48] My heart goes out to all the folks in North Carolina and in Florida and all the areas that have been affected by the flood.

[00:00:57] I mean, the hurricane, right? It's never really easy to deal with that.

[00:01:02] I remember years ago when we had the catastrophic flooding up here that was caused by the hurricane.

[00:01:10] That was caused by a hurricane, and it almost wiped out the entire town.

[00:01:16] So I understand just how terrifying it must be to be swamped by all that water.

[00:01:27] And, you know, and a lot of times there's no, it seems like there's no help around for the people that need it.

[00:01:35] It seems like FEMA got caught flat-footed.

[00:01:38] Seems like they didn't have the funds or the organization.

[00:01:41] It seems to get stuff to the people.

[00:01:45] And, you know, private citizens, right, are the ones saving the day here as usual.

[00:01:52] So it's really heartbreaking.

[00:01:55] And please, if you're listening to this and you haven't, like, you know, given something, you know, it could just be $5, right?

[00:02:05] You know, just send some money to help with all those efforts, you know, in those hurricane, you know, disaster zones.

[00:02:16] So please, you know, just take the time and select a good, reputable, you know, firm that helps people when they need it.

[00:02:29] And, you know, everything, everything helps.

[00:02:32] Everything helps.

[00:02:35] Oh, geez.

[00:02:36] So this one is going to be short.

[00:02:41] It's been busy here in Brownland.

[00:02:47] It's been busy.

[00:02:49] You know, the kids have so many different activities now and everything is full throttle.

[00:02:57] You know, they're back to school.

[00:02:59] We're all, you know, parents, right?

[00:03:01] We're at work.

[00:03:04] And things are hectic.

[00:03:07] Things are hectic.

[00:03:09] But the kids, they seem to be flourishing.

[00:03:13] You know, my son is playing a lot of soccer.

[00:03:16] So we're, you know, we're always furring him and taking him to all these different games and practices and stuff.

[00:03:23] And my daughter, she's big in the band and all that stuff.

[00:03:26] I'm sorry, orchestra.

[00:03:30] And, yeah, so, you know, it's busy.

[00:03:34] It's busy.

[00:03:35] And there are times when you just get squeezed.

[00:03:39] You know, a lot of folks don't realize that, you know, to do a podcast, right, it does take some planning.

[00:03:46] And you have to sit down and you have to kind of correlate all your sources.

[00:03:52] And like, okay, I'm going to talk about this, that, and the other.

[00:03:57] And, you know, just so that you have something that is valuable to the people that's listening to you.

[00:04:04] Because, you know, we value our listeners here.

[00:04:08] And, you know, we try to give you a product that, you know, it's not wasting your time.

[00:04:15] And it's valuable in terms of the information, you know, that you're receiving.

[00:04:21] Today, I'm going to talk about a bunch of things that you will never hear on the mainstream media.

[00:04:26] Not in a million years, really.

[00:04:28] And one of the things that I am going to talk about, you know, some of the things we're going to discuss is, you know,

[00:04:35] did Iran conduct an underground nuclear test, right, when was it, I think, last week, last Saturday.

[00:04:44] You know, this will never get any play in the mainstream media.

[00:04:48] Even a whiff of this, I'm sure, will never get any play in the mainstream media.

[00:04:52] Of course, because they're protecting their own political, you know, candidate, right?

[00:04:57] You know, the mainstream media have their political candidate.

[00:05:00] They're trying to get elected.

[00:05:01] Fox and the conservative media also have their candidate that they're trying to get elected.

[00:05:09] So, and I've stayed away from the madness.

[00:05:13] I've stayed away from a lot of the politics and what's going on.

[00:05:17] Because to me, it's the only way to stay mentally healthy.

[00:05:21] You know, I'm going to go out and vote just like everybody else is going to go out and vote.

[00:05:25] You're going to vote your conscience.

[00:05:27] You're going to vote on the issues.

[00:05:30] But, yeah, you know, the tit for tat and all this other stuff and the winding people up and getting people all crazy.

[00:05:40] Nah, I'm nobody's puppet, right?

[00:05:42] You know, I'm not a wind-up toy.

[00:05:46] So, I really do try to stay out of all of that.

[00:05:48] And, you know, election night will come around.

[00:05:54] And then, of course, you know, once the transition of power occurs there in January, and then we just deal with whomever is in.

[00:06:04] Right?

[00:06:05] That's the way I'm playing it.

[00:06:08] Anyway, so we're going to talk about did Iran conduct an underground, you know, nuclear test.

[00:06:15] We're also going to talk about, you know, how inflation rose in September because that impacts us and our planning.

[00:06:24] And lastly, I'm just going to leave with some hurricane tips, you know, what to do, you know, in a storm or hurricane.

[00:06:31] So, we have a pretty decent program here today.

[00:06:38] And before I jump in, right, let's hear from our sponsors.

[00:07:37] Com says it expects to continue with stage six running blackouts for the rest of the week.

[00:07:41] A scheduled outage on Thursday, but the one that happened Sunday, it wasn't scheduled, it was unexpected, and it lasted longer than a day.

[00:09:37] And, you know, if you like something that you're hearing, right?

[00:09:43] Especially when you scroll through the player here on PBN, right?

[00:09:49] If you like what you hear, then please pass us around.

[00:09:52] Let people know that we are here.

[00:09:55] And I'm going to grab this story here from India.com and from Pravda, right?

[00:10:02] So I'm going to grab the story from these two sources.

[00:10:06] And on India.com, it says,

[00:10:09] Did Iran conduct underground nuclear tests on Saturday night?

[00:10:13] Measured earthquake in region suggests.

[00:10:15] And intensity was 4.5 on the Richter scale.

[00:10:18] And it says,

[00:10:20] An earthquake of moderate intensity occurred in Iran and Israel on Saturday night.

[00:10:25] This is last Saturday night, October 5th.

[00:10:27] Strangely enough, both the countries experienced the earthquake at a marginal difference in the timing.

[00:10:34] In such a situation, it is being speculated whether Iran has conducted its nuclear test.

[00:10:41] Now, of course, Hezbollah is being battered by the Israelis right now.

[00:10:46] And I think that this has really rushed.

[00:10:49] Probably, you know, the Iranians now are rushing all of this through.

[00:10:53] Probably with the help of Russian help, right?

[00:10:57] Because, you know, Iran and Russia has become closer because of the Ukrainian war.

[00:11:02] And, of course, the world cutting off, you know, Russia's assets.

[00:11:07] So, you know, any friend in a tight, any help in a tight situation is a friend, right?

[00:11:13] So, I would not be surprised if Russia is aiding Iran and getting Iran, you know, help for its nuclear program.

[00:11:25] This is a worrying thing.

[00:11:29] It would be interesting if there are other similar type earthquakes.

[00:11:35] At some point, I think that we're going to hear probably in the next, I would say, within the next year that maybe Iran, especially if the war is going badly,

[00:11:44] we're going to hear that Iran does have a nuclear weapon.

[00:11:48] And that's going to be a game changer.

[00:11:52] This is from Pravda here, right?

[00:11:59] Given the intense state of conflict between Iran and Israel, people have started linking the earthquakes in these two countries with Iran's nuclear tests on social media.

[00:12:10] There have been speculations in many reports that it was not an earthquake.

[00:12:15] Rather, Iran conducted underground nuclear tests due to which a shock was felt in both the countries.

[00:12:23] A report claimed that the earthquake in Iran occurred very close to the nuclear power plant.

[00:12:28] So, it cannot be said whether the shock was due to an earthquake or a nuclear test.

[00:12:34] Another report has claimed that the earthquake in Iran could be an underground nuclear test because its center was at a depth of only 10 kilometers from the ground.

[00:12:47] In such a situation, the speculation about Iran's nuclear test has deepened.

[00:12:54] Okay.

[00:12:55] So, did Iran conduct an underground nuclear test or not?

[00:13:00] But this is worrying news because it would spark, I think, a serious escalation in the tensions and in the war between Israel and Hezbollah.

[00:13:16] And I'm sure, well, Hezbollah is just a proxy of Iran.

[00:13:20] So, really, you know, if we want to really just, you know, come out and say the truth about this, right?

[00:13:30] Israel is at war with Iran at this point.

[00:13:33] You know, but a lot of these little wars are going through proxies, right?

[00:13:38] You know, NATO is using, say, the Ukraine as a proxy, right?

[00:13:42] So, and there was an intriguing article online the other day, you know, saying that, yeah, we're already at war.

[00:13:52] World War III is already on the way.

[00:13:54] It's just that, you know, right now it's all through proxies, right?

[00:13:58] And we've been saying that here on The Strange Truth and on PBN for a long, long, long time.

[00:14:04] Okay, so, you know, but these are stories that you would never hear, you know, in the mainstream media because they just bury everything.

[00:14:15] There's no real journalism going on there anymore, right?

[00:14:20] Let's see.

[00:14:22] The other story that I'm going to jump in right now because this affects everyone listening to this, everybody, right?

[00:14:28] In the United States is, and this one is taking from the Gateway Pundit, inflation rises in September, food prices surge, auto insurance prices soar.

[00:14:40] And it says here, surprise, inflation rose to 2.4 in September, less energy and food, the Labor Department said.

[00:14:49] The consumer price index rose 2.4%.

[00:14:54] Core services and food surged in September.

[00:14:59] Auto insurance prices skyrocketed and are up 56% since Biden-Harris were installed.

[00:15:07] And food prices rose again.

[00:15:09] The index for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs rose 0.8% in September.

[00:15:16] The eggs index jumped 8.4%.

[00:15:19] The fruits and vegetable index increased 0.9% over the month following a 0.2% decline in August, Zero Hedge reported.

[00:15:32] Now, since the Biden administration took office, right?

[00:15:38] Gas has gone up by 38%, 38.2%.

[00:15:43] Electricity has gone up by 31.3%.

[00:15:49] Let me just read that again.

[00:15:52] Since Biden took office, gas has gone up, right?

[00:15:57] Plus 38.2%.

[00:16:02] Electricity has gone up 31.3%.

[00:16:08] Fuel oil has gone up 37.4%.

[00:16:12] Airfare has increased 24.5%.

[00:16:16] This guy's only been there for, he and Ms. Harris, right?

[00:16:20] They've only been there for, what, three and a half years?

[00:16:24] Going on four years now, right?

[00:16:27] This is some massive jumps.

[00:16:29] Hotels have gone up 42.4%.

[00:16:32] Groceries has gone up 22.1%.

[00:16:35] Eggs have gone up 69.2%.

[00:16:39] Baby food has gone up 31%.

[00:16:42] K-12 food has gone up 69.7%.

[00:16:48] Rent has gone up 22.9%.

[00:16:52] Transportation has gone up 31.1%.

[00:16:57] Car insurance has gone up 56.5%.

[00:17:02] Real average weekly earnings have gone down 3.4%.

[00:17:11] So the real average weekly earnings have gone down 3.4%.

[00:17:17] Minus 3.4%.

[00:17:19] So it's just insane how these, you know, how inflation is just wrecking, you know, it's just destroying people all over the nation right now.

[00:17:34] And that's one of the reasons why, yeah, you have to be careful with your money and you have to make sure that you're prepared, right?

[00:17:42] Just in case there's any kind of emergency.

[00:17:44] So this is really bad.

[00:17:47] But what really stood out for me is the gas gone up 38.2%.

[00:17:52] You're paying 31.3% more for electricity.

[00:17:56] Groceries, you're paying 22.1% more.

[00:18:00] Food like eggs, you know, you're paying 69.2% more.

[00:18:07] Everyone, well, pretty much everyone pays rent, right?

[00:18:10] You're paying 22.9% more.

[00:18:13] And the real average weekly earnings have gone down actually 3.4%.

[00:18:20] So people are actually earning less now than they were before Biden took office.

[00:18:26] And these are some massive numbers.

[00:18:27] And I think that, you know, these are going to affect the outcome of a lot of things in November.

[00:18:35] But people are hurting right now, okay?

[00:18:38] These are real numbers, right, being felt all across America.

[00:18:44] This isn't fantasy or feel-good stuff.

[00:18:48] You know, these are real numbers that's affecting every single American.

[00:18:53] Rich, poor, doesn't matter what color you are.

[00:18:56] It doesn't matter, you know, what gender you are.

[00:18:58] You know what I mean?

[00:18:59] It doesn't matter.

[00:19:00] Everybody's feeling it, right?

[00:19:02] Everybody's feeling it.

[00:19:04] All right, so that's the story on inflation, okay?

[00:19:10] One thing that I am going to get into now and I'll end the podcast on this is hurricane safety tips, okay?

[00:19:20] Let's just hope that Milton was the last of it for the season.

[00:19:25] But there will come a time when there will be other, you know, hurricanes, depressions, and stuff like that that people have to deal with.

[00:19:34] And here are some tips, really, that you can always follow to keep yourself and your family safe during a hurricane.

[00:19:43] And I'm taking this from the FEMA.

[00:19:46] The FEMA.

[00:19:48] Wow.

[00:19:50] All of a sudden, I'm almost like yawning there.

[00:19:53] What's going on, right?

[00:19:54] Tired, tired, tired.

[00:19:55] It's been a long day, folks.

[00:19:58] But got to get into this hurricane safety tips here, right?

[00:20:01] And it says here, learn what to do before, during, and after a hurricane.

[00:20:09] And it says, to prepare for a hurricane, you should take the following measures.

[00:20:14] To begin preparing, you should build an emergency kit and make a family communications plan.

[00:20:21] You should know your surroundings.

[00:20:24] Learn the elevation level of your property and whether the land is flood prone.

[00:20:29] This will help you to know how your property will be affected when storm surge or tidal flooding are forecasted.

[00:20:37] Identify levees and dams in your area and determine whether they pose a hazard to you.

[00:20:43] Learn community hurricane evacuation routes and how to find higher ground.

[00:20:48] Determine where you would go and how you would get there if you needed to evacuate.

[00:20:56] Make plans to secure your property.

[00:20:59] Cover all of your home's windows.

[00:21:02] Permanent storm shutters offer the best protection for windows.

[00:21:06] A second option is to board up windows with 5x8 marine plywood, cut to fit and ready to install.

[00:21:14] Tape does not prevent windows from breaking.

[00:21:18] Install straps or additional clips to securely fasten your roof to the frame structure.

[00:21:25] This will reduce roof damage.

[00:21:28] Be sure trees and shrubs around your home are well trimmed so they are more wind resistant.

[00:21:35] Clear loose and clog rain gutters and downspouts.

[00:21:39] Reinforce your garage doors.

[00:21:41] If wind enters a garage, it can cause dangerous and expensive structural damage.

[00:21:48] Plan to bring in all outdoor furniture, decorations, garbage cans and anything else that is not tied down.

[00:21:56] Determine how and where to secure your boat if you have one.

[00:22:00] Install a generator for emergencies or just get one for emergencies.

[00:22:04] If in a high rise building, be prepared to take shelter on or below the 10th floor.

[00:22:12] Consider building a safe room.

[00:22:15] So those are just some tips that you can use to keep you and your family safe during an emergency.

[00:22:28] Another article that I'll read is from Lifehacker.

[00:22:33] The safest places to be during a hurricane.

[00:22:36] Right.

[00:22:36] And it says here.

[00:22:41] Where are the safest places to be during a hurricane?

[00:22:44] Well, first, get out of the hurricane's path.

[00:22:47] The safest place to be when a hurricane approaches is somewhere else.

[00:22:51] So you should definitely evacuate when appropriate.

[00:22:55] Hurricanes are not entirely predictable, but they're slow enough that evacuation is usually possible.

[00:23:01] Don't be prideful.

[00:23:02] Track storms while they're far away and get out of Dodge if you're in danger.

[00:23:08] It says go to a designated shelter.

[00:23:11] Sometimes residents are ordered to shelters as hurricanes approach.

[00:23:15] If the civic authorities tell you to go to one, then do it.

[00:23:19] An official shelter will almost definitely be safer than your house.

[00:23:23] Stay inside your home.

[00:23:25] If you haven't evacuated, whether because you're stubborn or shelter in place orders have been given, stay inside.

[00:23:32] Hurricanes are powerful, fascinating storms, but resist the urge to go outside and experience them or to try to batten down the hatches as the storm is upon you.

[00:23:42] It's too late.

[00:23:43] Save yourself, not your lawn furniture.

[00:23:46] Stay away from windows.

[00:23:48] Don't look out the windows during a hurricane.

[00:23:51] The storm's winds can turn the glass in your windows to flying daggers of death in an instant.

[00:23:57] Go to a small interior room.

[00:23:59] The safest place in your house is the middle.

[00:24:01] You're trying to avoid shards of flying glass when your windows are blown in.

[00:24:06] So an interior room with no windows is your best bet.

[00:24:10] It could be a hallway, a bathroom, a pantry, etc.

[00:24:13] Wherever you hunker down, make sure there are no heavy objects above you that could fall.

[00:24:19] Stay on the lowest floor.

[00:24:21] Avoid the upper floors of your home because the wind is stronger the higher you go.

[00:24:24] And in severe hurricanes, roofs can be blown off or destroyed by blown debris.

[00:24:30] The first floor or even better, the basement is stabilized by the foundation of your home.

[00:24:38] So those are just some tips.

[00:24:40] You know, you got to know how emergency alerts for hurricanes work.

[00:24:46] Staying in the know can help you and your family be safe.

[00:24:51] You'll know if you need to evacuate or whether it's safer to stay put.

[00:24:55] Make sure your phone or backup burner phone are set to receive the wireless emergency alerts,

[00:25:01] W-E-A, from FEMA through the integrated public alert warning system, IPAWS.

[00:25:08] Right?

[00:25:08] These are free 90 character texts that local authorities can send to mobile devices

[00:25:14] within range of any cell tower in an effective area.

[00:25:17] There's no need to sign up.

[00:25:19] Just make sure your phones are updated and charged.

[00:25:24] Yeah.
