[00:01:06] Welcome to another episode of The Strange Truth. I'm your host Carl B. Hopefully everybody had a pretty decent week and now you've got the weekend. My weekend is going to be busy. The kids, my daughter has a big concert. She plays the viola. She has a massive concert coming up.
[00:01:36] On Saturday and then my son has soccer on Sunday. So I'm going to be busy all weekend. I'm going to be busy all weekend, you know, but it's good. It's good. You know, I get to see the kids perform and, you know, you see the fruits all their hard work, right? Practicing and everything else. A lot's been going on in the world, right?
[00:02:04] And, you know, lots have been going on weather-wise too. Here, you know, upstate New York, you know, it's really, really spring-like. We've had a couple of days now where it's been in the 50s and 60s during the day. Today, I think it got into the mid-60s.
[00:02:32] And when was it? I believe, I think Monday we hit like 70 degrees. So I'm not going to complain about it at all, really. It's nice to be able to just kind of get out of the house and sit and just enjoy, you know, just enjoy the weather for a while. The one thing I really hope, I'm really hoping they'll get rid of at some point is the time change. I think they just need to make up their mind and stick with one. And fine.
[00:03:02] You know, sometimes either the morning or the evening is going to be a little darker at some point. You know, but, you know, we just, I think it's easier to deal with. I think that's easier to deal with than, you know, this time change, right? You know, I'm still trying to, my body's still like, you know, like, you know, am I still an hour behind here? What's going on, right?
[00:03:30] So, and the funny thing is, is that I actually expected, like in the morning, you know, when I'm dropping, you know, my daughter off at school and doing different things. I'm expecting that there is going to be less people on the road because of the time change. I figure people, you know, wouldn't be, you know, their bodies, they're not necessarily adjusted to it. But man, you know, it seems like there's a lot more people out now than, you know, a few weeks ago.
[00:03:56] So, you know, but I do wish that we'd get rid of it. Yeah, I wish that we'd just make up their minds and just kind of go one way or the other on that one. Today, we're going to talk about, we're going to talk about tariffs and the effect that might have on our economy. And, you know, and of course, what effect that might have on you.
[00:04:21] We're going to talk about the, very briefly, we're going to talk about the, you know, what's going on with Russia and Ukraine and the whole kerfuffle that happened, you know, in the White House between Zelensky and Trump, President Trump. Right. You know, we're going to talk about all of, we're going to talk a little bit about that.

[00:10:13] The first thing we're going to look at, the first thing we're going to look at is the stuff going on with the economy, right? A global trade war. And there are two articles that I'm going to read from. I'm going to cherry pick some stuff from them, right? But they're really important. And, you know, I try to do my podcast a lot of times as late in the week as possible because things do change.
[00:10:43] You know, Trump has slapped tariffs on like Canada and slapped tariffs on, you know, Europe and other places, right? And Canada has, you know, slapped their own tariffs back and, you know, back and forth, right? You know, back and forth, back and forth. But things are always in flux. And for me, it seems like he's using these tariffs to open a conversation for the most part.
[00:11:14] You know, he wants to do a deal. And I think once people understand that, because it really seems like he'll say, okay, a 25% tariff on meddles or whatever, right? For Mexico or Canada or whomever. A lot of times, you know, of course, they have to always show that they're standing up to Trump because he's supposed to be the world's power, right? And, you know, the world's bully and this and that.
[00:11:44] And he's this really kind of bad man. You know, they're still playing that card, right? But it really does seem like what he's actually trying to do is he's opening a conversation saying, okay, you know, well, we are, he's running the country like a business. And, you know, he says, well, you know, if you want something from us, then you've got to give us something in return. And, you know, from time to time, a business, any business will look at their bottom line.
[00:12:12] We'll look at the products that they put out. We'll look at, you know, how much they're charging people and they'll adjust depending on the current, you know, economic times and situations, right? And I think that that's what he's doing. You know, for a really long time, we've had, you know, like we've had all these like agreements in place with all of these different countries all around the world.
[00:12:37] You know, and I'm sure that some of these agreements have been in place for, you know, 15, 20, 20, 25, 30 years. Isn't it time to take another look at these agreements and to update these agreements, right? You know, so, and I think that that's what he's doing.
[00:13:01] You know, like, you know, he really does want to, it seems like he really does want to address the fentanyl problem along the borders, right? Whether it be, you know, the border with Mexico or the border with Canada, right?
[00:13:18] It seems like he, and he's already using this tariff thing to say, okay, why don't you then, you know, start doing something about the drug problem and about, you know, all the people crossing the border, right? And let's start controlling a lot of those issues.
[00:13:41] So I think that I'm not as worried about it as I was in the beginning when it seemed like it was just this arbitrary thing he was doing. It seems like he does have some kind of a plan. And it seems like, you know, this is all just about opening the door and saying, okay, what, you know, here's what we have. What do you have?
[00:14:09] And can you meet us halfway here or something? So it seems like that's what is going on. So I wouldn't be reaching for the recession button yet. And I know that a lot of people have been reaching for the recession button. Okay. Yeah. So I wouldn't be, you know, battening down the hatches quite yet. Okay.
[00:14:37] There is a story on the most important news and I'm going to use two articles. And these are written by Michael Snyder, but, and they've been published all over the web, but it's really interesting. Some of his insights here. And I just want to share some of his insights with you. And he writes, I can hardly believe how rapidly economic events are moving. Now, the global trade war that has just erupted is going to be eminently painful.
[00:15:06] If you doubt this, just read all the way to the end of this article. There is a reason why the Dow Jones Industrial Average has fallen by more than 1,300 points over the past two days. The top minds on Wall Street clearly understand what is coming. China, Canada, Mexico, and the EU could avert disaster by negotiating with President Trump, but they're all choosing not to do so. Everyone is digging in for a long fight and the result is going to be absolutely disastrous.
[00:15:35] Of course, all of this is happening at a time when it appears that a recession has already begun. We are in far more trouble than most people realize. And the months ahead are likely to be quite excruciating. Now, as I was saying before, right? I don't necessarily think that because we've had a few weeks now to see how Trump is operating.
[00:16:03] And as I said, it seems like he'll say, okay, like we're going to implement tariffs on this country or whatever. Right. And then once the country negotiates with him, right? He pulls back. And this has been going on now for a while. Now, there are certain countries, of course, that they're going to dig in. You know, countries like, well, the EU countries for, you know, those people are just crazy. Right.
[00:16:31] They're just living in a different world in Europe right now. Right. Nothing that these folks are doing in Europe, right, resembles, you know, there's no, you know, pragmatism in Europe right now. Most of those countries are already living in with a form of fascism.
[00:16:52] And it's really amazing because, you know, a lot of these progressive governments in Europe will say, oh, yeah, you know, we're trying to prevent, you know, all these really bad things from happening to people. And we've got to protect everyone. And they operate under that cloak of protecting everyone. But when they but by doing so, what they're doing is they're shutting down anything that they don't agree with.
[00:17:22] Right. So there's really at this point, there's only the right speech in Europe right now because they've shut down everything else. And if you're in the other part of the government that don't agree with the progressive side of the government, then you're shut out of everything. Because even if you win an election in Europe and if you're a conservative, then they're going to they're going to they're going to avoid those elections. They'll find a way not to implement the will of the voters.
[00:17:52] And I think at some point I don't I I think all of that is going to end badly for Europe. You know, they're all slipping into this new form of fascism. Right. Right. They're really quick to call their adversaries, you know, the conservative adversaries, Nazis and this and that and everything else. But when you look at what they're doing, it's it's fascism. It's fascism what they're doing.
[00:18:20] They do not trust their own people. They don't. Not only that, they don't want any. Right. They don't want any wrong speech where they consider wrong speech. Wrong speech means that you are not. You know, thinking in a liberal way. And that almost happened here. It is still close to happening here. It might happen here at some point.
[00:18:50] But yeah. So the Europeans, you know, they're they're not living in reality. And I think that because of the green initiatives that they've been pushing in Europe. If you've been if you're listening to this in Europe, those green initiatives that they've been pushing has has dramatically weakened their economies.
[00:19:17] And I really do think that at some point those economies are going to tank. And, you know, in terms of them trying to face up to Trump and say, yeah, we're going to we're going to implement these tariffs and you and you listen that.
[00:19:38] I don't necessarily think that, you know, and, you know, and although this article saying that they were digging in and we're going to read more article that they're digging in and this and that. And I think that is going to temporarily like the market is going to take a hit and the economies of the world will take a hit. But I don't think that they can be in this for the long haul. I think that they are going to have to come to the negotiating table and negotiate.
[00:20:04] It's kind of like when the Ukrainian thing broke and and you could see that they had they had a they had a plan in place. They they had something in place to try and counter what Trump was going to do. Yeah. So they had they had a plan in place and they triggered that plan when Zelensky had, you know, had that disastrous meeting, you know, with President Trump at the White House.
[00:20:32] That's when it was all triggered. And then you he went and he got me and they took him in all over Europe. He did a whole kind of. But then, you know, I think that when they realized that Mr. Trump started, you know, when he started, like when President Trump started pulling all the support from Ukraine,
[00:21:01] they realized that there's just no way we can do this without the Americans. And then they started to pull back on a lot of their so-called, you know, saber rattling. Right. And of course, it seems like, you know, Zelensky came back to the table. But, you know, they the Europeans are not living.
[00:21:24] And I do believe that it is because of the Europeans that at some point we are going to have to fight another global war. It's going to be triggered by those people. World War One, we got involved because of them. World War Two, we got involved because of them. All the Europeans. Right. World War Three, we're going to have to get involved because of them. They're going to be the ones that trigger it. They're going to say, well, you know, it's because of the Russians doing this or whatever.
[00:21:55] But I'm thinking that they're going to be forcing and forcing the issue to the point where it's going to trigger a global war. And Europe will not survive a global war. This is the big, you know, this is one of the things that gets me all the time. Right. But anyway, I digress. Let's let's just I need to keep my focus here and not drift too badly.
[00:22:23] So read a little bit more of the article here. Shortly after Trump officially imposed high tariffs on goods coming from China, Canada and Mexico, the Chinese and the Canadians announced new tariffs of their own. Canada and China swiftly announced retaliatory tariffs against the U.S. on Tuesday. Shortly after long threatened levies by the Trump administration on these countries and Mexico took effect.
[00:22:52] President Trump's new 25 percent tariffs on imports from Mexico and Canada were imposed at 12.01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time, along with the doubling of duties on some Chinese goods to 20 percent. The Canadian economy is going to be thrown into a major downturn by these tariffs. But Canada Prime Minister at the time, Justin Trudeau, has foolishly decided that this is a battle that his nation needs to fight.
[00:23:22] And here's what he said. We should be working together and ensure sure even greater prosperity for North Americans in a very uncertain and challenging world. Now it's not in my habit to agree with the Wall Street Journal. But Donald, they point out that even though you're a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do. Today, the United States launched a trade war against Canada, their closest partner and ally, their closest friend.
[00:23:47] At the same time, they're talking about working positively with Russia, appeasing Vladimir Putin, a lying murderous dictator. That makes sense, said Trudeau. We two friends fighting is exactly what our opponents around the world want to see. And that's the line that they've been using. Right. That's the line that they've been using. And it's and it's and it's a false line. Right.
[00:24:15] The Russians and the Ukrainians have got to make peace. And NATO has got to let Russia understand that they will not they will not encroach on their territory because this is what that is what triggered all of this in the first place. Is them encroaching and making promises and making overtures that they shouldn't have been doing in the first place. And it's it's cost Europe big.
[00:24:45] It's cost this country a lot of money and a lot of like personnel. And it's cost the Ukrainians and the Russians a lot of people because a lot of people have died fighting this war. And I'm hoping that this is where it can end. Because that's nothing compared to a global war where billions are going to die in a global war.
[00:25:12] You know, Europe is going to be gone in in quick succession if this thing goes goes nuclear. And that's the thing that I don't understand. I don't understand how people in England and people, you know, in France and people in Belgium and and in all these Europeans, you know, states and people in Germany. How are they not in the streets saying enough? We don't we don't want our families dying.
[00:25:42] We don't want our young men dying in some global, you know, global nuclear war, because if they think that they're going to uproot the Russian government, if they're going to pull some kind of, you know, like what they've done, like in the Middle East, where they're the top of the government, that's not the way this is going to go. If these folks feel like they're they're losing the grip, they're going to go nuclear because they're not going to let anyone invade Russia.
[00:26:14] And that's where we are. Isn't that insane? That's where we are. So these towers. Right. These terrorists, they're they're they're rattling. They're rattling all around the world. Right. They're rattling all around the world. And, you know, a lot of these countries are are are doubling down. Right.
[00:26:40] Just this week, some some countries have come to the table and decided to talk about, you know, you know, negotiating some kind of better settlement. And, you know, he did tell, you know, Elon Musk Musk to use a scapel. Right. Not a chainsaw, but a scapel.
[00:27:05] And I think that he's also beginning to look at the tariffs in the same way. You know, there's the other article that I noticed, too. Where, you know, he writes they're accusing President Trump of trying to of trying to, you know, start a recession. Right. Right. And a little bit of the article here.
[00:27:34] And this is on the most important news again. It says it is. Is it just a coincidence that a large number of talking heads in the corporate media have all of a sudden decided to start blaming Donald Trump for causing a recession? During the four years of the Biden administration, those same voices insisted there was no recession on the horizon, even though homelessness was setting record high after high. Demand at food banks surged to levels never seen before. Inflation was out of control. Home sales plunged to extremely depressed levels.
[00:28:04] Stores and restaurants were closing all over the nation. And debt levels were breaking records. Let's be real. The U.S. economy has been on a downward trajectory for a long time. And that downward trajectory got even steeper in the final stages of the Biden administration. Now that now we're being told that the economic problems that we are experiencing are happening because Donald Trump is manufacturing a recession.
[00:28:28] CNBC host Jim Cramer went off on President Donald Trump for fueling recession fears and cratering the stock market, noting competitor markets are crushing us and accusing Trump of potentially manufacturing a recession or worse. Really? Trump has been in office less than 60 days. He simply has not had much of an opportunity to have much of an impact on the economy yet. But following more than 1,400 days of Joe Biden, U.S. households were absolutely drowning in debt.
[00:28:58] In fact, we just learned that the average credit card debt load for the fourth quarter of last year was the highest that we've seen since the Great Recession. For one, America's inflation adjusted debt burdens are starting to grow further beyond pre-pandemic levels on a pre-household basis. As of the fourth quarter of 2024, the average household's credit card debt surpassed $10,000. Wow.
[00:29:28] Adjusted for inflation for the first time since 2009, according to data compiled by consumer finance website WalletHub. Donald Trump was not president during the fourth quarter of 2024. Joe Biden was. We also learned that mispayments on auto loans were at the highest level in three decades in January. Mispayments on auto loans by American car owners rose to the highest level in three decades earlier this year. Wow.
[00:29:58] Donald Trump did not become president until January 20th. So don't try to put all of that on Trump. During the final stages of the Biden administration, even many Americans that earn at least $150,000 per year were falling behind on their debts. Wow. When you just look at all this data, it's insane. It's insane.
[00:30:23] And he goes on to say, if we try to fight trade wars with Canada, Mexico, China and the EU simultaneously, that's going to create an enormous amount of economic pain. So hopefully our trade disputes will all be settled quickly. And it says here, if not, those at the low end of the economic spectrum will be hit the hardest. With views of current finances among the poorest Americans already near the lowest in 14 years,
[00:30:53] tariffs are set to add even more pressure by making many everyday items even pricier. Low-income households who spend a larger share of their budgets on goods than the wealthy and tend to favor cheaper imports will bear the brunt of the hit. Economists from the Bank of America and BNP Paribas expect the February Consumer Price Index report due Wednesday to show early signs of the impact from the tariffs.
[00:31:20] In particular, the additional levies on items like furnishings, clothing, electronics coming from China. So, you know, unsure economic news ahead there. But at the same time, as I said at the beginning of this program, I really do believe that President Trump, right? He will impose these tariffs.
[00:31:47] And I think what he really wants to do is he wants he wants to make a deal, right? He wants to bring people to the table. However, as, you know, Mr. Snyder here said in his article, right? You know, the Europeans, of course, they've got to fight everything that Trump wants to do. And they'll dig in foolishly and they'll harm their own economies. They'll all try and blame it on Trump.
[00:32:11] But at the same time, you know, I mean, come on, you know, America, we cannot have the same deals in place that we've had around for 20 years. Right. The economy, the world economy has changed. You know, you know, the global market has changed. So I do think that, you know, these tariffs, yeah, they're going to have some effect on local household goods.
[00:32:39] I would advise any listeners right now, if there's something that you really need to buy, just buy it quickly. You know, get it in house right before the prices go any higher. I do think, you know, I do think that the economy is going to go a little wobbly for a little while. But I don't think that the economy is going to crash. OK. But who knows? Right.
[00:33:09] I think, you know, as I said earlier, if there's if there's stuff that if you have the money right now and you want to, you know, and if it's important that you get. The item, the items that you need, then go on and get them now. Right. Because I think that, yeah, we it's going to get a little it's going to get worse before it gets better. You know, so we'll see what happens.
[00:33:34] I do think that the mainstream media is going to try to talk us into a recession because they know that that would be bad for Mr. Trump. Right. For President Trump, it would be bad for the president. If if but at the same time, you know. How could they justify the four years of, you know, the economy under President Biden? All right. For years, we've been saying here on The Strange Truth and on PBN that we are in a recession.
[00:34:01] We were in a recession that no one wanted to acknowledge for years. So it's interesting when you built a house of lies. Right. How do you, you know, how do you how do you negotiate out of that one? Anyway. So there you have it right on the economy. I'm going to talk very, very briefly. There's this article about President Putin. Right.
[00:34:30] Saying that presenting his demands. And this one is on the end time. The end time headlines.org. Right. And it's about Russia making demands. Right. And I'll just read it really quickly. Reports have emerged that Russia has formally presented the United States with a list of demands. It insists must be met to end its ongoing war in Ukraine, now stretching into its third year.
[00:34:57] This development, detailed across multiple news outlets, marks a significant escalation in diplomatic efforts as both sides grapple with the conflict's resolution and broader geopolitical implications. Drawing from routers, New York Times, AP News and other sources, This article explores Russia's conditions, the U.S. response and the potential ramifications for Ukraine and the international community.
[00:35:22] According to routers, Russia delivered its list of demands to U.S. officials over the past three weeks through a mix of in-person and virtual discussions. While the exact contents remain undisclosed, two sources familiar with the matter told routers that the terms echo previous Russian positions. Ukraine must abandon its NATO membership aspirations. Foreign troops must not be stationed on Ukrainian soil post-conflict.
[00:35:51] And there you have the European nonsense about boots on the ground. It will never be accepted. You know, if the U.S. was to pull out completely and they were to put foreign boots on the ground, they would be fighting the Russians. And it would be crazy to see the response when young people from England and Germany and Belgium and all these countries and France start dying. Right.
[00:36:21] It would be interesting to see how, you know, the reaction, the ripple effect all across Europe. Right. Back to the article really quickly here. It says, let's see. Ukraine must abandon its NATO membership. Aspiration foreign troops must be stationed on Ukrainian soil post-conflict. And the international community must recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea and four partially occupied Ukrainian provinces,
[00:36:48] Donetsk, Lukes, Kirsson, and Zaporizhina. These conditions align with Moscow's longstanding narrative of protecting its sphere of influence and securing territorial gains made since 2014. So, you know, so Russia is making its demands. We'll see where all of this goes.
[00:37:13] Hopefully they can work something out to the benefit of all parties and the war will stop. Because if we leave it to the Europeans, we are going to be fighting a nuclear war. Right. We're going to be fighting a nuclear war. Okay. So, of course, we've got to get a little spooky before we sign off here. Right. We've got to get a little spooky. Right. You know, we're on the strange truth. Right.
[00:37:41] And here is an interesting article on the endtimeheadlines.org. Right. You know, I'm always looking for stories that, you know, show that the finger of God is moving. Right. You know, that that, you know, God is moving history. Right. You know, and the Temple Mount. Right.
[00:38:08] It says Israeli ministers send letter to members of U.S. Congress to recognize Jewish rights to the Temple Mount. That's a big deal. A group of Israeli ministers and members of the Knesset have sent a letter to members of the U.S. Congress calling for official recognition of Jewish rights to the Temple Mount, a site of immense religious and political significance in Jerusalem.
[00:38:30] This development reported across various news outlets in early March to 2025 underscores the ongoing tension surrounding the contested holy site and highlights Israel's efforts to bolster international support for its claims. The Temple Mount, known to Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif, is home to the Al-Asqa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, making it one of Islam's holiest sites.
[00:38:58] For Jews, it is revered as a location of the first of the ancient first and second temples, the most sacred site in Judaism. The area has long been a flashpoint in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, with access and control tightly regulated under a decades-old status quo agreement.
[00:39:20] This agreement, established after Israel captured East Jerusalem in 1967, allows Jews to visit but not pray at the site, while Jordan retains custodial oversight through the Islamic WAQF walks.
[00:39:40] According to reports from Arutz Sheva, a prominent Israeli news outlet, the letter was spearheaded by a coalition of right-wing Israeli politicians who argue that Jewish rights to the Temple Mount have been unjustly restricted. The signatories included several cabinet ministers. They urge U.S. lawmakers to pressure the Biden administration to shift its stance.
[00:40:06] Now it would be not the Biden administration, but the Trump administration, which has historically supported maintaining its status quo to avoid escalating regional tensions. I think their best chance might be with the Trump administration. So we'll see how this all works out. Let's see.
[00:40:36] Yeah. Yeah. A brief statement from the State Department official cited by the Times of Iver reaffirmed Washington's commitment to preserving the status quo and encouraging dialogue between all parties.
[00:40:51] However, the letters direct appeal to Congress bypassing the executive branch may signal Israel intent to exploit divisions within the U.S. political system, particularly as midterm elections loom in 2026 and Israel remains a polarizing issue. So we'll see how this goes. So we'll see how this goes. You know, little steps, little steps. Right.
[00:41:14] But you can see God finger in all this unfolding plan here at work and we'll keep you posted on any other developments. So it's been an eventful conversation. It went on a little longer than I thought it would. Okay. Hopefully you all got something, you know, from the conversation. You know, please enjoy your weekend. Please don't get yourself too stressed out by what's going on in the world. Yes.
[00:41:43] You have to hold your breath when you see all the stuff going on with the tariffs and everything else. And of course, our economy was always on shaky feet to begin with. But I do think that it might not be as bad as some are making it out to be. Of course, the mainstream media is going to paint this with the blackest brush possible, of course. Right. But we'll see how it all comes out.
[00:42:08] Hopefully, you know, other countries will make deals with us, you know, that are reasonable and we can, you know, be mutually beneficial to each other. Right. Globally. So enjoy what's left of your weekend here. Right.
[00:42:36] If you're listening to this, you know, on a Saturday or Sunday. Right. And, you know, these are serious times, folks, and serious times require serious people. So plan, plan ahead. Keep listening to the news. Keep listening to PBN. And until next time, folks, take care and good night.
