[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT, POT.

[00:00:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Hello everyone, I'm Darren Internet radioelland this is Dave Jones, NBC guy and I don't know why

[00:00:15] [SPEAKER_00]: I came up with this tip by a woke up this morning and this is stuck in my brain pan.

[00:00:22] [SPEAKER_00]: So I just thought I'd get it out there and that is performance oriented training.

[00:00:30] [SPEAKER_00]: Or the acronym we used in the Army POT.

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_00]: You see, what are we going to do today?

[00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we're going to do some POT, you know and it was a big joke but performance oriented training

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: is and you may have already participated in something like this.

[00:00:48] [SPEAKER_00]: Very small hands on tasks that you can do and it's designed to get you tuned up, get

[00:00:58] [SPEAKER_00]: you ready, get your thinking like loading and clearing a weapon.

[00:01:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Very small tasks like that of course use dummy rounds.

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, do not use live rounds.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Here's an accidental discharge that could occur so use dummy rounds.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_00]: Applying a bandage, applying a turnic hit and then you would do this in like what we call

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_00]: a round robin type of fair where you go to different station or be a table and boom,

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_00]: you perform the task and it was a pass fail kind of thing.

[00:01:34] [SPEAKER_00]: So you either did it right and got a pass go no go or you got a no go which means you

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_00]: need more hands on training with that particular skill.

[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_00]: So it's designed to get a lot of training opportunities in a short period of time and

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_00]: you'd get like maybe two minutes, three minutes at a table.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: The instructor would tell you what the task was and boom, you do it and then they'd blow

[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_00]: what's one you'd rotate to the next one.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know why that is stuck but if you can use that in any way think about small

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_00]: individual tasks hands on that you can perform in front of someone evaluating you and have

[00:02:33] [SPEAKER_00]: a bunch of them do this now do this now do this now do this.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: That's pot performance orient training and that's your preparative for the day.
