Hello, everyone, Welcome in James Walton here, the intrepid commander of this relentless Prepper broadcasting network, coming to you with a ton of updates and stuff today. Okay, if you are truly a member of the PBN family, then this podcast, this short podcast will appeal to you. If you're dipping your toes in, it might be intriguing. If you're looking for prepper tips and that kind of talk, then you may want to check out one of the other seventy five podcasts we posted in the last three days. Things are happening, things are changing, Things that you don't know about are coming, and every so often I just like to do a show like this to try to help you keep up. You know, I know that, you know. It's a lot. We're a lot here at PBN. But before I get rolling, because the cold weather is outside and people are miserable and depression is at its peak in February, I feel like for most as we await the spring, the beautiful green to return to the world of white, dim misery, cold. You knowugh. I pulled out first. I grabbed The Immortal Poems of the English Language, which is the best book I've received in a long long time. I got it from Chin at Prepper Camp this year as a gift. It maybe it rivals Victorian, the Victorian Poets Book, which changed my life at the time. It rivals that I haven't read enough of it because it's you know, it's giant. But suffice it to say the book is dog eared and filled with pictures of my kids holding places for amazing poems, and it's just every time I pick it up, I find something new. It's it's really great. It's called Immortal Poems of the English Language. And for those of you out there going mah, fine by me, right, But if you are thumbing your nose at poetry and simultaneously being. Depressed or woe is me? Or you know, no one understands why me? Why is this stuff always happened to? Look this is you are the person that poetry was created for. Literally, you are that person. You have to find the discipline to sit down and read because in a short set of stanzas you will come through the realization. And one of the things I love about Immortal Poems of the English Language is that the poetry is ancient sixteen hundreds, fifteen hundreds, and when you read that kind of stuff, you really quickly understand like, oh, this is life. This is life. And because we've decided to cut poetry out of our life and art, good art out of our life, largely in lieu of AI generated slop and the sirens of modern society. Right, And I don't mean the sirens that are blaring. I mean the sirens that are calling you to crash upon the rocks, right, because we've swapped those things out for that. Yeah, it's a vapid existence. I want to read to you from Poems for Men, the book that I released in twenty twenty five, which is my poetry other great poems that I read all my life. A short one and then we'll get into the updates. But it's winter and this poem really resonates in the winter time, and it's called a Father's Rewards, and it questions that very thing, what what are the real rewards of father? And I don't mean the overarching generational you know, the the name gets to carry on, you know, the pride of what a son or daughter does goes on to be I'm talking about in the moment. I'm talking about, what what are the truly joyful moments of fatherhood in the moment, not looking to the future, not stowing away for the college, not you know what I mean, planning for what could be. I'm talking about in the thick of it all, because there's so many of you out there in the thick of it all, and you know how hard it can be. You know how much of a struggle it can be. You know the level of worry and all these kind of things that go along with being a dad in the modern age, so father's were rewards. A father's rewards. Wood crackling in the hearth, heat radiating into the home, a child of eight, wrapped snug in his bed, December winds, can only peek through the window, her head on your chest, her eyes meeting yours, A pantry of options, slices of warm meat, good cheese on a plate, a peaceful morning, coffee as black as a new moon midnight, her fingers through your hair, her assuring words, her dreams taking shape, her safety, a boy becoming a man, a boy becoming himself, seeing the pieces of you and her within him. Father's rewards PBN family. I hope you've felt it. I hope you've seen something like that. If you experience that. In my book Darker Trails I rode in twenty eighteen, there's a picture. It's a weird charcoal sketch of a sort of like a sketchy human like figure standing in a doorway, leaning his elbow into the doorway and standing staring into a dark room. And it's a self portrait. Really is what it is, because I've had many a night when the whole house is asleep, that I have stood in the doorway of my son's combined bedroom where now they are in separate bedrooms, and looked in on the scene, watching their little chests rise and fall, and feeling what so many men neglect to feel, which is just the joy of the fact that the glass is not broken, the heater is right, the wind is not blowing, and the child is not sick with some uncurable disease that you know will kill him, and that life in the moment is pretty damn good. Right. I don't even know if we're not a grateful people as much as we are just oversaturated, right, We're just saturated and accustomed to things going right. Right, there's a cough, the kid runs to the pediatrician, You know what I mean? So we miss out on the gratitude of just the children are fed tonight, the house is warm, and life is good. Right on to PBN. Okay, thank you for humoring me. There's always this part of me that is at play, and I have to give a little bit too of it to the listening audience because. You know, some of you out. There love it. It's not to bury the content in weird stuff. But this is me too, you know what I mean. And we have enough prepping content hitting the airwaves now on a daily weekly beds. It's amazing, it's really great. You get some of the funniest things in life. Man, I'm telling you, just the no dumb moments that change life. Right, So let's start with that. Let's start with the archived shows so that everybody knows what is happening on PBS, because you might be tuning in new, you might be tuning in old, you might be you know, tuning in like you've always tuned in over the years. And I thank you all whoever you are, whichever category you fall into. But the archived shows are a new thing. Right. We're back to a medical Monday, right, A medical Monday largely populated by Judson Carroll and his incredible herbal Medicine or herbal Medicine for Preppers series, right, which is amazing. But we have cat Ellis, we have the Doctor Bones and Nursing. We've got a lot of great medical content in the in the Chamber that is going to come out every Monday, right, Tactical Tuesday, we're doing a uh, we're doing something on Wednesday and Thursday that starts with a wn a. T Okay, I'm not completely sold on Wilderness Wednesday or thrifty Thursday. We'll probably do some throwback Thursday, but those two are days, you know where you'll get bushcraft related content, outdoors related content on Wednesdays from the archive. Thursday you'll get content for your Friday, generally speaking, conspiracy based stuff or maybe stuff that once was conspiracy you know, five years ago in the PBN archive, but now is one the reality every day in this country, right, The crazy things that preppers once said come true. We had a great show from who was it was it cat Elis? I think it was cat Elis, the herbal prepper who did a great show about, you know, preparing for pandemics and what that could look like and it's eerie to listen to because I think it was twenty sixteen, twenty seventeen, something like that. It's really an eerie thing to listen to. That's the type of content that people would listen to pre twenty twenty and go like that could never happen. I mean, could never happen. You know. I built my own pandemic kit years before twenty twenty. And the funniest thing about the pandemic kit that I build is we never opened it. We never popped it open. I don't think for one thing. Yeah, we never did. It was really weird. Even the N ninety five's we never popped out of there. I kept them in there because I was kind of like, if this is the first wave, the next waves worse, let's keep those things in reserve. But at the same time, the pandemic kit that I built, it has like tivex suits, and it's a real thing, you know what I mean. It's not like I'm coughing coughing a lot and I've got a headache and I can't taste my coffee anymore. Now I'm pissed. So the archive content five days a week, you'll get that on top of all the shows that we do. Typically, Okay, while we're on the subject of shows, let's talk about mom. Let's talk about mom. Let's talk about the Mother of Mayhem. Let's talk about Abigail Spanberger's new show on PBN, which is exactly what it is. That's exactly what it is. We aired episode three last night, all about the taxes. If you are a Virginia listener to PBN, you really should tune into Mother of Mayhem. If you are a Florida, Texas, East Tennessee these type of people, you probably you should tune in the Mother of Mayhem two to understand who your neighbors are going to be, because if things continue the way they're going here in Virginia, then you're probably gonna have some Virginians pulling up and moving in right next to you. But it's also kind of well, it's just the same old Democrat playbook, really is what it is. So it's not super interesting. But what the Mother of Mayhem's show has done for me has given me a chance to sit down for an hour a week and say, Okay, what what are they doing? Already a month and three days in, what are they trying to do? Why are they tanking my state? Right? And that's really what it's all about. We've done three shows so far. We've done all the executive orders, We've done all the gun bills, and just last night with Keith from Common Sense Practical Prepper, we did all the taxes, all the proposed new tax legislation. Right, all this stuff is Democrat. It's all the the Democrat take over now that Glenn Youngkin has been removed, right, And you just I want to stay up to date on it. I want the Virginia listeners out there. You know, PBN is. What Dave myself, Patriot power. Our guys, uh, we're you know, large part of our makeup is Virginia. Our exors are preparedness exercises, a lot of our meetups, a lot of our you know, these are all Virginia things. So it's it's it's important to me, you know what I mean. So the Mother of Mayhem is uh searchable. It's in the you know, in the podcast breakdown. Now if you you know, if you're in Virginia and you're listening to it, don't hesitate to share it. Don't hesitate to share the Mother of Mayhem out with people so that they can listen to it and go, oh wow, that's okay. Because I'm reading right off bills, I'm not giving as much sort of opinion as normal. I'm reading directly off bills because I'm reading it for the first time a lot of time, time for the second time at the most, and I'm going, wow, this is happening. Okay, great, great plan tax everyone into oblivion and you know so on today's sponsor I want to talk about too. Okay, they are you've heard about them here. We've talked about them a little bit from time to time. It's the ready Plan app. Okay. The ready Plan app is from our friends over at mad Gear. Our friends over at mad Gear. Sam over at mad Gear, who has made started out making awesome shirts, fun shirts, moved into making mesh nodes, created a great planner emergency planner, and then turned you know, sort of all of that information and experience into the ready Plan app, which really helps you generate truly effective digital plans that you can share with your family. Okay, you can go to Readyplan app dot com check it out. You can just search it in your app store iPhone, Android, doesn't matter, it's there. The Ready Plan app. I put it on my ghost phone, no problem. And look, we can talk about plans. We can have plans in our own head, right, but if you don't want to fly by the seat of your pants in an emergency, then you have to have plans that other people know about, and they have to be thorough and thoughtful, you know. And the Ready Plan app helps you generate those plans. It helps you along the way and then you modify, customize to what you want. And you know, there are great paid features on the app, but the app itself largely you can get most of what you want done for free. So visit Readyplan app dot com or just go find the Ready Plan app downloaded on your phone today, generate your first plan and share it with the people who are important with you to you right Ready Plan app man. Okay, So, another big thing here at PBN that you might be upset about is you're hearing ads advertisements, right, getting these weird ads on the on the podcast about craft macaroni and cheese, Like, what the hell's going on? What the hell's going on is income? And you got to understand there are a lot of people who listen to PBN that are you know, the sort of in and out there. It is what it is. The the idea of a podcast is a free piece of content that you get to enjoy. And there's a lot of people out there putting their heart and soul into free stuff. And look, I don't know. It's a thing. Okay, I'm not going to make excuses for it. It's a thing. It's a it's a stream of income. And the reason that it's going to stick around is because you can avoid it completely by listening to PBN on speaker and becoming a supporter. There's a link down below. You become a supporter five bucks a month. If you're already a member, just sign up for supporter and we'll scratch your five bucks a month on the membership side. You're gonna still have access to the membership side. And look, no ads, ads are gone. I for years, and here's the thing. For years and years and years, I always felt weird asking you guys to join. Come a member, spend money. Spend money on on just volumes of free content that we put out. I don't know, it's five bucks, you know what I mean? It's five bucks a month. If I had some here's here's the reality from a personal perspective, if there was something in my life that I really enjoyed and the ads are getting in the way, I would pay the five bucks. Or if it were a problem. There are many problems in my life that I have solved for cheap monthly things. You know what I mean. So become a supporter. There's a link down below. It goes a long way. Here's the reality. The more that we can do, the more income that we can generate as a podcast network, the more fun stuff and cool stuff we can do, the bigger and better we can be coming. It will only benefit you more. Truly. You know, you're never gonna see me. You're never listen. You're never going to see me posting pictures of me in a corvette. Do you know what I'm saying. I'll probably never buy another house unless I'm forced out of this one, you know what I mean. The only way I'm going to be in another home. In other words, I'm not shilling over here to wind up rich. Okay, I'm very happy with my life. But you got to understand, like the world is changing. Things are changing, income streams change just because you find something that works. Oh look, there's sponsors and all that kind of stuff, and it's going really well. Things change with AI, Things are changing constantly. Man. This is solid ground for PBN right now and gonna We're gonna work it. And like I said, five bucks a month and you avoid it all. So it's an important update. It's something you have to reckon with. I wouldn't hold it. You know, you're a big big boy or big girl. You make the decision you want. That's just what it is. I made the decision that I want. You make the decision that you want. Right February routine is incoming, PBN family. Okay, we will kick off some sort of cold weather nightmare routine for February so that we can survive this month and hopefully bring on a warm March. Because I don't know about you, but I've been colder in January than I've been in ten januaries maybe combined. But for those of you who are who don't have never participated in sort of the PBM routines their physical fitness biblical usually some dry fire for your pistol, things along that line, planning for what's to come, you know, gardening right around the corner, folks, I mean it doesn't feel like it doesn't seem like it now, but it's right around the corner. There's no doubt about it. So look for that. We have a very. Interesting thing happening probably in a week or so. Sorry, we are afflicted by a cough in the house. The wife and I have it. The kids, I don't know. They don't have it. But the wife and I have a cough. Probably too much kissing, but we're sharing this cough. It's going away, but it's really a pain, nothing bad, no fever, and it's just like a scratchy you know what I mean. Whatever, here's what it is. Thanks to Chin again, we reached out to poclink okay, pocklink dot com. In fact, pocklink dot com slash Prepper Broadcasting. I gotta tell you that because that's an important link now all of a sudden, let me double check and make sure that I wasn't planning on sort of talking about pocklinks. Are affiliate with them until I get the radios. But I guess it's. Worth mentioning the url properly for those of you who are interested, As you know, are Comm's wizard is Chin Chin the maan chins up the co host of the Changing Earth podcast, The guy who is truly like in love with yeah, truly in love with emergency comms. The guy who I don't care who you are. I don't care what you did in the military. I don't care what you once did with a radio or you know what I mean, what you learned. Ten years ago. So Chin is the guy I listened to when it comes to comms because he's the everyday comms user, right, He's using Mesh on a daily basis, He's using gmrs on a daily baby, he uses these things every day. Those are you know, you are what you do every day. I tell you that all the time. You are what you do every day. So these are these things are very important. You understand a person by what they do every day. This is the person you take advantage of. He comes to me and says, hey, you should try the pock Link radio. They might send you a free one, they might let you use one, YadA, YadA YadA. So what we decided to do. I reached out to pock Link before Christmas. What we decided to do is to get one ship to myself and to get one ship to the NBC guy. Okay, go to pocklink dot com, slash Prep or broadcasting if you're interested. Look around at that link. That's the affiliate link. And uh again this is a I wasn't really necessarily interested in an affiliate opportunity with Pocklink. I haven't tested the radios yet in all transparency, so if you buy it, that's on you. But basically what they are is an unlimited range, off grid, dual mode walkie talkie that their claim is it truly works anywhere and any time. And this is what I want, do you know what I mean? My biggest problem with emergency comms is probably your biggest problem with emergency comms. I don't want fifteen radios. I'm not radio guy. I'm not interested in radios. Really, it's really not. It doesn't mean I don't do the work, doesn't mean I don't have a hand handheld charging as we speak, you know what I mean. But it's just one of those things that like I want something. I want four of these, right and I want to know that I can communicate with my family with them, and and maybe beyond that, maybe many more of them that I could communicate with PBN on, maybe more that I could communicate with the PBN members and supporters. Right, if poclink gives us the ability to create that emergency communications network that I've wanted to create over the years, then it's a win, you know what I mean, it's a win for us. But all that sort of pie in the sky stuff aside. What is going to happen. Is Dave Jones from high a top Mount Crumpet is going to be poclinking to me down here in the valley of Richmond, and we're going to see how it works. We're going to see how they work. We're going to you know, run them through different things, me trying to get to him, him trying to get to me, those kinds of things, because it's it really is like from the highest peaks to the lowest valleys. I mean, I live in a valley, you know what I mean. It's a beautiful place, but I live in a valley, a river valley, the James River Valley, you know what I mean. In the James River, I live to have like a literal tributary that flows through my backyard that hits the river. So it is a climb, It is a frequency climb for me to get up and out of anywhere. Right, in terms of radio communications, we'll see stay tuned, stay tuned, and we'll see if the park Link can pull it off. I don't know, maybe it can, maybe it can't. The other big thing is, you know, we're gonna try to simulate what this off grid capability is because you go to pocklink dot com slash Prepper Broadcasting and you're gonna see the biggest thing that it says is unlimited range Comma works off grid period, smallest dual mode walkie talkie that truly works anywhere, anytime. And that's you know, that's what we're after. That's basically what we're after, so looking forward to it. First of it's kind for us, really we don't do a lot of comms testing stuff. Very interested in that. What I don't have for you, but I have to tell you about is something that some of you may have taken advantage of, some of you might not have. Sign up for the newsletter. First of all, Okay, go to pbnfamily dot com. Sign up for the newsletter because you get this kind of stuff, You get these kind of updates. You get a free book, right, the fifty Must Read Books to Survive doomsday. You get that. That's an essential if you want to know the books that a prepper, survivalist homestead are really American citizen should own. I mean truly like a freedom loving, self reliant American citizen or someone who desireth to be, these are the books you should have. It covers a massive amount of things, and there's also a section of sort of James's favorites to four or five books like that of the fifty. You need this book. It's one hundred percent free. It links to all the books inside the book. It's really great, right. It was something that I created a couple of years back and just I love it. It's what it is is a digital product. It's not necessarily like a book, you know what I mean. It's a PDF for the list of books. But they're great and they were collected from my own interests and of course the preppers that I know. Rick Austin helped me out with some. Obviously, the host of the Prepper Broadcasting Network helped me out with some. It's great, amazing. What I said through on the newsletter from time to time is something that goes out on our x and our Facebook and other social media daily which is basically the best prepper deals of the day off Amazon. It's pretty how much it. It's pretty straightforward thing that I've been doing over the past couple months, and it's just sourcing some of the best deals on certain types of products on a day to day basis that I think you would like. I think you and preppers and homesteaders urban homesteaders at large would like like today we're doing. I'll put it in the link below. Because I forgot, I'm not live right now pre recording this. The link will be in the show description, the link to the supporters in the show description. I'll put the link to the newsletter in the show description also for you, because I'm. Nice like that. But these this same post. All you got to do is bookmark the post. You don't have to go find the link all the time. You just bookmark the post because the post I change every day, seven days a week, seven days a week. I get in there, I modify the deals, boom throwing different stuff, and there's always sort of like it's basically a core three every single day. Today we're doing deals on rain barrels, we're doing deals on chicken coops, or we're doing deals on indoor hydroponics systems. Okay, all stuff from Amazon, all to be transparent, all my Amazon affiliate link, and you buy from there. I get a little bit of the money and so you know, bingo bango. But it's fun. It's fun to source them. It's fun to look at the different deals and you know, find what works and what doesn't. You know, that kind of stuff. It's what's happening. It's what's happening here at PBN. And I'm trying to fill you guys in on all of that with this show. Gold Backs. Gold backs are going to be a thing here at PBN. With the situation with silver, as I talked about, like I'm not thrilled with silver, folks, That's the only thing I can. Tell you, you know what I mean. Oh great, the silver is worth a lot of money, and now like the silver that I own is worth more and that's kind of cool. But silver wealth was never my aim. Silver as the barter was always my aim. Silver as a thirty dollars denomination that I could barter with or buy things with was always that. It was always the magic of silver to me. It did better than gold, It performed better than gold. For my use. Now it's kind of a pain. So you know, everything in survival is adaptability, everything in prepping is adaptability, everything in life is adaptability. Right, And I've always liked the gold backs. I've always thought they were beautiful. I've always thought that the technology was amazing and astounding. And well, listen to the Matter or the Mother of Mayhem last night to see kind of where my thoughts are with that. So somehow, some way, you're going to be hearing more about gold backs and buying gold backs and. That kind of stuff. I personally will be buying more gold backs, because remember, every gold back is gold. Every gold back is gold. There's no getting around it. The value will climb as gold value climbs. It's one of those things. What I want is what you want most of the time. For the most part, I want to be able to afford these things, you know what I mean? In all honesty, Like, I can't afford to buy five ounces of silver anymore? Can you can? You say? Well, when I get paid, Frida, I'm gonna drop five hundred dollars on five ounces of silver. It doesn't work anymore, right, It used to work. It used to be. I'll drop one hundred dollars on five ounces of silver, and that's something that makes sense. So it's one of those things, guys. You know, times they are changing. So I think that's about it. The coffee's running out, the morning is upon us. This is gonna go out on the midday, but it's pretty early. I got up pretty early, excuse me. And we had a big work day at my son's school yesterday. I'm not really reeling from it or anything. It wasn't that big a deal. All I can tell you is stay in shape, guys, like you know, really keep yourself in shape. You have that choice every single day of your life, you know what I mean, every single day of your life. You have the choice to either stay in shape or let yourself deteriorate. And I'm never I don't think there's a moment in my life that I more appreciate my health and my physicality and my strength than when these school sports whatever group work activities come. They come up on the schedule, and all of a sudden, you're sitting there with shovels and pick axes and picking forks and you're moving molt or you're breaking ice, or you're shoveling snow, whatever the situation is. And I'm good at working, you know what I mean. I'm good at just putting my head down and grinding. That's why the Prepper broadcasting now work is still going and going strong, right because this is my thing. I'm in the pocket when it's like James, I need you to do X, Y and Z today, get it done. Like and I know the mission and I can grind on the mission. It's really easy. I'm really built for it. And you're not just on a microphone and with a pen, but you know, physically, there's just something about it. I don't know. Maybe it's been a chef, the monotonous grind of being a chef. You sort of build that up in your brain. Right, today we chop the herbs, today we feel rey de fish to lay. It's same thing over no cut the silver skin off the tender, same thing, day in and day. I'll cut the onion. Cut the onion, cut dicety onion, slice the onion. But what I can tell you is I find this has been years of this happening. It's not my first rodeo, but over the years and years and years of this happening work days, right, real physical work days. You look around yourself and you see the you know, the variants. You see the very rantsome people. You see the people who have not moved a muscle in five years, and they're behind his shovel and they look like they're gonna die. I mean, they literally look like they're gonna Like you're close to going up to him and saying, yo, you should go sit for a minute. You know that they're gonna feel like death the next day. You know that, you know what I mean. Then you get with people you can tell, oh, this person is yeah, maybe they're not in good shape, but they've got the will. You could see the will in them. They're pushing through the pain. And then you get around the people who are in shape and who can get the job done, and it's it's just one of those things, you know, don't let your body go. Okay. My father worked until he was nearly seventy years old, okay, and he'll be seventy six this year. Guys, he's bearing down on eighty. And he is like one of the few reasons in my life besides like Dave Jones, the NBC guy that I look at life and go, oh, maybe I maybe living past sixties not so bad because I have no desire to get old. And what's the key commonality between those two men? They bust their ass, you know what I mean. They spent their whole life doing it and and you know, did it well into their latter years. It really is that simple, you know, it really is. Keep pushing the pace, keep the body in shape, stress it out, okay, physically, make it endure something, make it suffer something on a daily basis, and it will give back to you, you know, it will give back to you. I could tell you about my I could tell you about my son swinging the pickaxe and the crowd gathering around in awe and what a feeling that was, you know what I mean. I can tell you about the administration of the school sitting there watching his friends leaning tired against the shovels after two hours of work. You know, we weren't shoveling snow. We were chipping ice for two hours, and him, you know, heroically smashing the pickaxe down. On the ice, like. I don't know, right, Like, what more of a proud father moment do you want than that? Tis life? Pbon family tis a life well lived. I hope you guys enjoyed the show. I you know, all updates is what it is. But important stuff, all right, reach out, let us know how we're doing.
