[00:00:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Welcome back to the Changing Earth Podcast with author Sarah F Hathaway and co-host

[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Chen Gibson.

[00:00:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Blending survival fiction and fact to bring you entertaining education that will help

[00:00:23] [SPEAKER_03]: you dream, survive and thrive.

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And now here's your hosts Sarah F Hathaway and Chen Gibson.

[00:00:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Chapter 55

[00:00:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Leaving the capital behind, Cole made his way towards the southern border.

[00:00:40] [SPEAKER_08]: They had taken a small white Honda to make the trip and changed out of their militia

[00:00:45] [SPEAKER_08]: uniforms to blend in.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_08]: The further south they drove, the more fierce the faces on the street became and the

[00:00:52] [SPEAKER_08]: faster Johnny's foot tapped with nervous energy.

[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Calm down, Johnny.

[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_08]: We were invited, Cole assured him.

[00:00:59] [SPEAKER_08]: They aren't friendly to mercs down here, sir, Johnny told him.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Driving through town, Cole noticed a group of fighters in black uniforms.

[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Their leader was clearly marked with red stripes on his shoulders.

[00:01:11] [SPEAKER_08]: The people on the street were terrified of them, but they seemed to keep their distance

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_08]: from any militia soldiers.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_08]: Cole was curious.

[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_08]: Chappie had relayed information to Cole from the rebel captain he took to Cassidy's

[00:01:24] [SPEAKER_08]: camp.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_08]: The man mentioned a group of soldiers in black shirts.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Bounty hunters came from the east to collect people from the west.

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Making a mental note of the uniforms, Cole drove the truck to the militia gate.

[00:01:38] [SPEAKER_08]: The brakes squealed loudly as the militia soldier approached.

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_08]: You're going to have to have that looked at, friend, the soldier suggested.

[00:01:46] [SPEAKER_08]: You're not wrong, Cole answered, handing him his identification.

[00:01:50] [SPEAKER_08]: I was told you were coming through today.

[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Welcome to Texas, sir, the man replied, handing him back his ID.

[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Thank you for allowing us to enter, Cole replied.

[00:02:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Follow this road up two streets and take a right.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_08]: You can't miss the governor's compound, the militia man directed.

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_08]: He left the vehicle waving to another man to open the gate.

[00:02:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Pressing on the accelerator, Cole told Johnny, welcome back to freedom, Johnny.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Don't they have any refugees here?

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_08]: They do, but they care for each other and help those in need.

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_08]: They seceded from the United States and rejected the climate refugee system.

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_08]: They believe that all people are created equal in the eyes of God, Cole explained.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Makes sense, Johnny answered.

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_08]: My mom used to take me to church, but

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_08]: dad always said that he had seen enough evil to know that God didn't exist.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Maybe some people just need to be punished for

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_08]: the wrongs in a past life, Cole suggested.

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know, Johnny admitted.

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_08]: I never gave it much thought.

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Cole pulled the vehicle to a stop in front of the compound and

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_08]: showed his ID to the next guard.

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Governor Dixon would like to talk with you, the soldier stated.

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_08]: Cole stepped from the vehicle and said, and I would like to talk with him.

[00:03:02] [SPEAKER_08]: This way, sir, the soldier directed, leading him inside.

[00:03:06] [SPEAKER_08]: They entered a large building that used to be a college.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Cole had expected him to have a private office behind a big desk, but

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_08]: his desk was a modest set up in the corner of the soldier barracks.

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_08]: Eli sat at the desk with a scowl on his face.

[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_08]: As Cole approached, Eli declared angrily, and here he is, the man himself.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't believe you let him inside our border.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_08]: Standing from his desk, the governor corrected sternly, Eli,

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_08]: I understand you're upset, and rightfully so, but

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_08]: I have never met Major Cole Verges, so please be quiet for now.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, sir, Eli acquiesced, pouting.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_08]: Major Verges, I wish we could have met under different circumstances,

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_08]: Dixon told him, approaching to shake his hand.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_08]: I couldn't agree more, sir.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_08]: It was a risky decision coming down here.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_08]: You know the Colonel's bounty hunters patrol it well, Dixon warned.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_08]: I had to take the chance.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Why now?

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Dixon's thick brown eyebrows furrowed with curiosity.

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_08]: Eli butted in suggesting because he believes he found the savior

[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_08]: of the refugees.

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Eli, please, that is not going to get us anywhere, Dixon corrected,

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_08]: agitated by his outbursts.

[00:04:23] [SPEAKER_08]: He's right.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't tell you how sorry I am about the circumstances surrounding

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_08]: William's death, but what's done is done, Cole admitted.

[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_08]: And his savior did it.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Eli, one more outburst and you'll have to leave the room,

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Dixon commanded.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, sir, Eli answered, glaring at Cole.

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_08]: Unfortunately, he's right about that too.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_08]: But I'm telling you, she's the one we need.

[00:04:48] [SPEAKER_08]: She has a legend and Cole paused for a moment looking around.

[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_08]: Is this room secure?

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Of course, Dixon assured him.

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_08]: This is for your ears only.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_08]: She's a landowner.

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_08]: What was done to her family will be the scandal of the century.

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_08]: People will have to rationalize what's going on with the refugees.

[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_08]: With the Ogallala collapse, the situation will only get worse.

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_08]: You're not wrong about that.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_08]: How are you going to keep her alive long enough to go public?

[00:05:16] [SPEAKER_08]: If the feds have the same information you do, her life is in danger.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_08]: The family's paperwork was lost when they first arrived.

[00:05:24] [SPEAKER_08]: They were some of the first families placed in Vegas.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_08]: And they're still there?

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Because Erica incited a riot and her husband Vince manages the gardens.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_08]: The director never placed them, Cole explained.

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_08]: And their past was never researched, Dixon asked in amazement.

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Things are much different in the Badlands, Governor.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Their error will be the scandal of the century.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_08]: We'd have to get her away from the feds before we can go public, or

[00:05:51] [SPEAKER_08]: they'll eliminate that threat immediately.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Eli stood up interjecting, I'm sorry sir, throw me out if you want to, but

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't listen to this anymore.

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Can we please just discuss getting Cassidy out of that hole in Vegas?

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_08]: I want nothing to do with the lone survivor, and

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_08]: I can assure you that many on the board will agree with me.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Knowing the truth of Eli's statement and respecting his position,

[00:06:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Dixon commented.

[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_08]: It's an interesting situation Major Verges, but

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_08]: our first priority has to be to Cassidy's freedom.

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_08]: After that, we'll see what can be done with this lone survivor.

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_08]: I have the full backing of the mercenary board to get Erica out.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_08]: I was planning on getting Cassidy at the same time.

[00:06:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Those bastards sent you for Erica?

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_08]: What about Cassidy, Eli insisted.

[00:06:39] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm going for both of them, Cole assured him.

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_08]: What do you need from the Western militia to free Cassidy, Eli asked.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_08]: I need refugees on the inside, Cole admitted.

[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_08]: I have the connections you need, but if you get both women,

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_08]: you better keep Erica far away from Cassidy.

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_08]: I'll figure it out, Cole said confidently.

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_08]: And if you plan to work with her,

[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_08]: You can count us out of your future plans, Eli added.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm sorry you feel that way, but I understand why.

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_08]: William was a good man.

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_08]: After saying goodbye to Dixon and Eli, it was time to design a plan.

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_08]: He knew who and what.

[00:07:15] [SPEAKER_08]: He just needed to figure out when and how.

[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_08]: The predicament plagued him as he left the Texas stronghold behind and

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_08]: headed for Reno.

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_08]: The South was still reeling from the Ogallala collapse.

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_08]: He had to skirt the southern end of the new lake and

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_08]: then point the vehicle north.

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_08]: People were everywhere, and

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_08]: he noticed a black-shirted crew amongst them every now and then.

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_08]: The second sighting made him more curious, but

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_08]: a third and a fourth were cause for alarm.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_00]: On the brink of blackouts again,

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: as power demand reached an all time record high overnight,

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: slivers of the Golden State plunged into darkness.

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_05]: He says it expects to continue with stage six running blackouts for

[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_05]: He scheduled outage on Thursday, but the one that happened Sunday,

[00:08:00] [SPEAKER_05]: it wasn't scheduled.

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_05]: It was unexpected and it lasted longer than a day.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Point zero energy has given me the American tested,

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Hello and welcome back to the changing earth podcast.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_08]: This is episode number 460, season 15, episode 55.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Hey Jim, what's up?

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_08]: And we got our favorite Aussie, Miss Ellen Kerr in the household.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_08]: How you doing, Ellen?

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, almost time for you to make your way out here.

[00:09:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Yes, prepper camp is coming fast.

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_08]: We love that.

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_08]: I think there's still tickets available.

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_08]: If you guys haven't got them, you better get them quick,

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_08]: cuz they are going to be gone within, I would say,

[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_08]: probably the next week, I would assume.

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_08]: They're usually out by the time September rolls around.

[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_08]: So if you haven't got your tickets yet to prepper camp, get them now.

[00:10:15] [SPEAKER_08]: The other issue on the board is I just finished building out episode 8.

[00:10:22] [SPEAKER_08]: So the audio drama is coming back.

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_08]: The first drop for members will be this Thursday.

[00:10:31] [SPEAKER_08]: At, this Thursday is gonna go live for

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_08]: members and then next week it will be for the public.

[00:10:42] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, hold on, we got a little mic issue going.

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_06]: We can't hear my guests, so hold on one second.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_06]: Always having problems with these things these days.

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay, give me a test, test, test.

[00:11:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Chin, let's get in here, yeah.

[00:11:19] [SPEAKER_06]: So, let's go there.

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_06]: One second.

[00:11:27] [SPEAKER_06]: Can you hear, Chin?

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_07]: Garden girl, I love the live shows.

[00:11:42] [SPEAKER_07]: Ever since this new laptop, you know, I know,

[00:11:49] [SPEAKER_07]: I thought I had it all together.

[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Everything looks good.

[00:12:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Still can't hear you?

[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_06]: Is that the general consensus?

[00:12:29] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[00:12:35] [SPEAKER_07]: How about now?

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Can you hear me?

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_07]: Now go, Chin.

[00:12:38] [SPEAKER_09]: Can you hear me now?

[00:12:39] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, that looks good.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_09]: Okay.

[00:12:42] [SPEAKER_07]: All right, let's get some feedback from garden girl.

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_07]: Thanks for a minute.

[00:12:53] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm taking notes this time.

[00:12:54] [SPEAKER_07]: Just like Chin told me, see, I'm listening, I'm being good.

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_09]: Yay, co-hosts.

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_07]: Hey, and there we go.

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_09]: We need an international co-host day.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_09]: That's right.

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_09]: We got a day for everything else.

[00:13:10] [SPEAKER_08]: Every week is co-host day.

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Chin, we love having you here.

[00:13:16] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, beautiful.

[00:13:19] [SPEAKER_08]: So, Ellen, you got to say hi too, because nobody heard that.

[00:13:24] [SPEAKER_08]: You heard you say hi.

[00:13:26] [SPEAKER_02]: G'day, y'all.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_08]: There we go.

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Ellen, come run on the...

[00:13:29] [SPEAKER_08]: There we go.

[00:13:31] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, game on.

[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_08]: You only have heard that in the library,

[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_08]: and you won't even know that happened when you hear the rerun.

[00:13:36] [SPEAKER_08]: All righty.

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_08]: So, like I was saying, next block is complete.

[00:13:41] [SPEAKER_08]: So this Thursday is going to be episode five for members

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_08]: on August 29th.

[00:13:45] [SPEAKER_08]: That's when it's going live for the public.

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_08]: And we should finish up the week

[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_08]: before we go to prepper camp.

[00:13:51] [SPEAKER_08]: So that'll be perfect timing, everything.

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_08]: You know, the good Lord's looking out for us.

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Everything looks great.

[00:13:56] [SPEAKER_08]: If you are one of my performers,

[00:13:59] [SPEAKER_08]: get the lines in, please.

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_08]: That's the only way the show goes on is with your help.

[00:14:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Really appreciate everybody's help.

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_08]: But please get the lines done when you got a moment.

[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_08]: All righty.

[00:14:09] [SPEAKER_08]: So last week on Burgess,

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_08]: he was in the central region meeting with General McClintock

[00:14:14] [SPEAKER_08]: to talk about getting Erica and Cassidy out of Las Vegas.

[00:14:18] [SPEAKER_08]: And this week he headed south into the Texas Free Zone

[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_08]: to talk to Governor Dixon

[00:14:24] [SPEAKER_08]: about getting Cassidy and Erica out.

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_08]: So in my books, I have the United States

[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_08]: divided into regions,

[00:14:31] [SPEAKER_08]: and it just kind of happened that way

[00:14:33] [SPEAKER_08]: because the people, the communities,

[00:14:35] [SPEAKER_08]: they're really banded together for survival

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_08]: to take care of their regions.

[00:14:39] [SPEAKER_08]: And so it's a question, especially for me in Texas,

[00:14:43] [SPEAKER_08]: like Texas secession is always something

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_08]: I've talked about.

[00:14:46] [SPEAKER_08]: So today we're gonna explore

[00:14:47] [SPEAKER_08]: will the United States fracture?

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_08]: And it seemed kind of apropos

[00:14:52] [SPEAKER_08]: to have our Aussie friend with us,

[00:14:54] [SPEAKER_08]: but as Ellen said,

[00:14:55] [SPEAKER_08]: what happens here usually happens there.

[00:14:57] [SPEAKER_08]: So why don't you just break us in a little bit, Ellen,

[00:14:59] [SPEAKER_08]: on some of the conversations that happened there

[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_08]: as far as, you know,

[00:15:02] [SPEAKER_08]: I'll show you an independence

[00:15:03] [SPEAKER_08]: versus splitting the country and that kind of stuff.

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so there is a really strong Republican movement

[00:15:09] [SPEAKER_02]: here at the moment,

[00:15:10] [SPEAKER_02]: especially after, God rest their soul,

[00:15:12] [SPEAKER_02]: soul queen Elizabeth Pied,

[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_02]: because everyone doesn't want to be happy deal

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: with the Dulls.

[00:15:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's the movement's getting stronger

[00:15:21] [SPEAKER_02]: and stronger and I was heavily a monarch supporter,

[00:15:25] [SPEAKER_02]: but now I've sort of shifted towards a republic.

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: I think we should be getting away

[00:15:29] [SPEAKER_02]: from the colonial church, as they say,

[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_02]: and becoming our own nation.

[00:15:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But we shall see, we shall see what happens.

[00:15:39] [SPEAKER_02]: It's getting in strength,

[00:15:40] [SPEAKER_02]: but still there's a lot in its way.

[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_07]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_07]: My mom was surprised to hear that the other day

[00:15:49] [SPEAKER_07]: we were talking about how Australia

[00:15:52] [SPEAKER_07]: is still part of the English monarchy

[00:15:55] [SPEAKER_07]: and she's like, no, no, no, it's its own country.

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_07]: And I'm like, no, actually it's not.

[00:15:59] [SPEAKER_07]: It is part of the English monarchy.

[00:16:03] [SPEAKER_07]: And so that was surprising to her.

[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_07]: I'm like Canada is still as well.

[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_07]: It's just not something you hear very much about.

[00:16:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, Canada did go away from it for a bit

[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and then they came back in.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: That's the Commonwealth of Nations

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that are combined under the British monarchy.

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so that's why our navy ships,

[00:16:22] [SPEAKER_02]: for example, are Royal Australian Navy.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_07]: Are you sure it's not the Australian Royal Navy?

[00:16:27] [SPEAKER_07]: Because I think that was it.

[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Every time you say that is another doubt in my back.

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_07]: Oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.

[00:16:37] [SPEAKER_07]: I can't help myself.

[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, in regards to the fracturing,

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_02]: I don't think we're there yet.

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: There is a few instances where

[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_02]: there was a place in Western Australia

[00:16:51] [SPEAKER_02]: where he said he liked his own nation,

[00:16:53] [SPEAKER_02]: my own nation, but it'll come down to

[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_02]: economic stuff and what states got what.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: At the moment I don't think it's gonna happen,

[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_02]: but you never know what will happen.

[00:17:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Before, usually take on,

[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Australia usually followed America

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_02]: three to four years after.

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_08]: It's kinda like California here.

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, well believe it or not,

[00:17:20] [SPEAKER_08]: we have 12 states that have been talking about secession

[00:17:24] [SPEAKER_08]: or making new states, these kinds of things.

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_08]: So I found that really surprising.

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_08]: One of the ones that surprised me the most,

[00:17:33] [SPEAKER_08]: and this was even on a Dr. Phil show the other day,

[00:17:38] [SPEAKER_08]: was New Hampshire talking about secession,

[00:17:42] [SPEAKER_08]: which is kinda crazy.

[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_08]: So.

[00:17:47] [SPEAKER_02]: They're big in the freedom movement though up there.

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_02]: Like they're like,

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_02]: the king New Hampshire,

[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_02]: they're all about freedom and doing what you want

[00:17:57] [SPEAKER_02]: and all that sort of stuff.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Right?

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I heard that over here.

[00:18:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, I was kinda surprised about that.

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Like I knew Texas and then California.

[00:18:07] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, honestly, I don't think California would

[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_08]: because they relied way too heavily on federal dollars

[00:18:16] [SPEAKER_08]: compared to Texas, state like that.

[00:18:20] [SPEAKER_08]: So the same kind of talking about it

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_08]: were Oregon, Illinois, Texas, Colorado,

[00:18:25] [SPEAKER_08]: New Mexico, New Hampshire, Louisiana, California,

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Washington, Minnesota, New York and Pennsylvania.

[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_08]: So they all have some kind of a secession

[00:18:33] [SPEAKER_08]: type movement happening in them.

[00:18:37] [SPEAKER_08]: So one of the big problems that we're having,

[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and I don't know about you,

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_08]: is the centralized government.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Just no voice, right?

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_08]: You don't have like your local feeding to your county,

[00:18:45] [SPEAKER_08]: to your state, and then up from there,

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_08]: it's just like the overlords

[00:18:49] [SPEAKER_08]: and one size doesn't really fit all.

[00:18:53] [SPEAKER_08]: You can actually fit 30 European countries

[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_08]: into the United States.

[00:18:57] [SPEAKER_08]: So that's like what we're trying to manage

[00:19:00] [SPEAKER_08]: all under one roof and be like,

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_08]: oh yeah, we can just handle it federally.

[00:19:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I thought that was crazy.

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Like you can't, the whole point was to have the state

[00:19:10] [SPEAKER_08]: so we all have a state, have that voice within the union

[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_08]: instead of just a federal oversight.

[00:19:19] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you guys have the same kind of issues

[00:19:20] [SPEAKER_08]: that go on there as far as your one voice?

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: It's very much a hunger game sort of mentality

[00:19:28] [SPEAKER_02]: with essential, yeah.

[00:19:31] [SPEAKER_02]: No, not really.

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: We have the federal government

[00:19:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and it is very, very fragmented.

[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_02]: So like, if I can give an example, it's COVID.

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So the federal government said,

[00:19:40] [SPEAKER_02]: like we're gonna shut down

[00:19:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and then every state did their own thing

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: from that direction.

[00:19:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So Victoria was the most stringent

[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_02]: and I had the most lockdowns

[00:19:50] [SPEAKER_02]: out of everyone in Australia.

[00:19:52] [SPEAKER_02]: And it was like, yeah, so the states run

[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_02]: their state really,

[00:19:59] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you've got three pillars of government here.

[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_02]: You've got federal, you've got state,

[00:20:03] [SPEAKER_02]: and you've got councils

[00:20:05] [SPEAKER_02]: which are your local counties in America for sure.

[00:20:08] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's the three levels of government

[00:20:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and councils deal with your water,

[00:20:15] [SPEAKER_02]: that sort of stuff, you pay your land tax

[00:20:16] [SPEAKER_02]: all that sort of stuff.

[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_02]: The state, so state police,

[00:20:21] [SPEAKER_02]: state medical, state roads,

[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_02]: all that sort of stuff

[00:20:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and then it goes federally.

[00:20:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And then you can divide that down into like road,

[00:20:29] [SPEAKER_02]: road as well, there's federal roads and state roads

[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and there's council roads and all that sort of stuff.

[00:20:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So it very much is a three pillars of government thing

[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_02]: in Australia.

[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_02]: But then I was talking about the universal income

[00:20:38] [SPEAKER_02]: which is very, very scary.

[00:20:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah.

[00:20:43] [SPEAKER_08]: That really scares me the,

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_08]: what do they call it?

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Equity versus equality.

[00:20:51] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like, yeah, that sounds like communism.

[00:20:56] [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, that is one that really, really scares me.

[00:21:01] [SPEAKER_08]: And I've been reading a lot about how you need

[00:21:04] [SPEAKER_08]: some type of a driver to actually create a situation

[00:21:09] [SPEAKER_08]: where you have to bring in new monetary policies.

[00:21:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Which is like what happened after the wars.

[00:21:15] [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, that's really freaky to me.

[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah and it's, so the thing that I've got in

[00:21:22] [SPEAKER_02]: at the moment is same work, same pay.

[00:21:28] [SPEAKER_02]: So you could be, like the example that they use on TV

[00:21:31] [SPEAKER_02]: was you'd be a qualified political analyst

[00:21:34] [SPEAKER_02]: working through 10 years and you get paid

[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: so that you can visit a great.

[00:21:38] [SPEAKER_02]: The person who has just joined will get that payed

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_02]: that rate and I'm like, that's just wrong.

[00:21:43] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, what's the clause to work harder at that point?

[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_02]: There is, yeah, there is no cause

[00:21:49] [SPEAKER_02]: to go out and get further education.

[00:21:51] [SPEAKER_02]: There is nothing because you're gonna get

[00:21:53] [SPEAKER_02]: a certain wage and it's in it.

[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_02]: All you have is a nation of people

[00:21:57] [SPEAKER_02]: who are just doing their minimum to get by

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_02]: by communism.

[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, just a bunch of real works.

[00:22:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yep and then that creates further greed

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and further corruption, everything in the higher ups

[00:22:07] [SPEAKER_02]: because they need to know.

[00:22:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, anyway.

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, crazy.

[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_08]: All right so there's some states like Idaho

[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_08]: and they're just looking like Eastern Oregon

[00:22:23] [SPEAKER_08]: would like to secede and become part of Idaho.

[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Northern California was that way.

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_08]: They talked about getting together with some of the counties

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_08]: in Southern Oregon as well

[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_08]: to be becoming the state of Jefferson.

[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_08]: So we have some things like that going on.

[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_08]: The Illinois separation random, this was interesting.

[00:22:49] [SPEAKER_08]: This one is basically they don't want Chicago.

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_08]: They wanna be outside of, they want basically Chicago

[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_08]: to become its own state.

[00:23:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Which is interesting because my son and I

[00:23:06] [SPEAKER_08]: have had that conversation where each city

[00:23:09] [SPEAKER_08]: that's too big should just become its own city state

[00:23:12] [SPEAKER_08]: and that way it doesn't have the effect

[00:23:14] [SPEAKER_08]: on the state that it's within

[00:23:16] [SPEAKER_08]: because that happened all the time in California

[00:23:18] [SPEAKER_08]: with the big states there or the big cities.

[00:23:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Same as here, we got Dallas, Houston, stuff like that.

[00:23:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Luckily they're a little bit more on point

[00:23:31] [SPEAKER_08]: but they could have a lot of pull on the whole state

[00:23:34] [SPEAKER_08]: and they're not even taking up most of the land mass

[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_08]: and managing that land mass so that's a big deal.

[00:23:41] [SPEAKER_08]: So I can see why they wouldn't want

[00:23:43] [SPEAKER_08]: to keep Chicago in a mix.

[00:23:47] [SPEAKER_02]: And I mean you've already got a city state anyway,

[00:23:52] [SPEAKER_02]: Washington, so it works.

[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, exactly we have an example of it working

[00:23:58] [SPEAKER_08]: so why can't we do that with some of these other cities?

[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_08]: We'll be good.

[00:24:08] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, that's what, it makes sense to me as well.

[00:24:11] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm like wall it up, refugee camps.

[00:24:16] [SPEAKER_08]: We know it works.

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_10]: It works, thanks a lot.

[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_10]: I feel like a physician from my black life.

[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, Louisiana has been talking about leaving the US

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_08]: or becoming a part of the Federation

[00:24:30] [SPEAKER_08]: of Mid-American States which I thought was interesting.

[00:24:36] [SPEAKER_08]: That's the first time I heard that term.

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_08]: We'll talk more about the South and the Mid.

[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_09]: What's the rest of that federation?

[00:24:42] [SPEAKER_08]: Right, yeah, I know.

[00:24:44] [SPEAKER_08]: So that would seem like it's more encompassing

[00:24:47] [SPEAKER_08]: all of the central United States.

[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_08]: So I like that one.

[00:24:52] [SPEAKER_08]: California has five different movements in the state

[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_08]: to either split the state or become its own country

[00:25:02] [SPEAKER_08]: which I would find kind of amusing,

[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_08]: but yeah, because they've done a great job

[00:25:06] [SPEAKER_08]: of managing their fiscal policies.

[00:25:11] [SPEAKER_08]: In Washington, the conservative East again

[00:25:15] [SPEAKER_08]: wants to break away to form a new state

[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_08]: or they would go with Idaho as well.

[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, that's the Eastern parts of Oregon

[00:25:21] [SPEAKER_08]: and Washington, it's the same problem.

[00:25:24] [SPEAKER_08]: They're tied to the rules of the cities

[00:25:25] [SPEAKER_08]: that are on the West Coast.

[00:25:27] [SPEAKER_08]: Same thing that happens in California.

[00:25:30] [SPEAKER_08]: East Dakota, 13 countries of Minnesota

[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_08]: talking about forming new states.

[00:25:37] [SPEAKER_08]: So they're going to get together

[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and form a new little unit there.

[00:25:41] [SPEAKER_08]: And then Long Island talking about breaking away

[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_08]: from New York.

[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_08]: So I can see the rationale there.

[00:25:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Okay, yeah, the sound thing's got me all buggered up

[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_08]: but it'll be good in the replay.

[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Texas secession is obviously the big elephant

[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_08]: in the room, right?

[00:26:10] [SPEAKER_08]: It's written into our constitution for secession.

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_08]: We were already our own country at one time.

[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_08]: It would be the 39th largest country in the world.

[00:26:20] [SPEAKER_08]: You can actually fit the UK inside of Texas,

[00:26:25] [SPEAKER_08]: the United State of Texas, 2.8 times.

[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_08]: So Texas is definitely looking like

[00:26:32] [SPEAKER_08]: it could make a run for secession.

[00:26:35] [SPEAKER_08]: And then it can make its own rules

[00:26:37] [SPEAKER_08]: without federal oversight, without any of these rules,

[00:26:41] [SPEAKER_08]: pay to play type rules, which are just kind of ridiculous.

[00:26:46] [SPEAKER_08]: If Texas were a country,

[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_08]: it would be the eighth largest economy in the world

[00:26:50] [SPEAKER_08]: which is also pretty impressive.

[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_08]: In total GDP, 2022, it was 2.4 trillion

[00:26:58] [SPEAKER_08]: and that's just getting even bigger and bigger.

[00:27:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Elon just brought his face program down to Texas

[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_08]: and it seems like, even JP Morgan

[00:27:09] [SPEAKER_08]: was the bank of San Francisco

[00:27:13] [SPEAKER_08]: and even they have left California now.

[00:27:17] [SPEAKER_08]: So just kind of goes to show about what the state

[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_08]: of how California is doing right now.

[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_08]: So some of the cons to Texas being on its own doing this,

[00:27:35] [SPEAKER_08]: really the best one I've heard is that the cartels

[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_08]: would be interested in Texas, right?

[00:27:41] [SPEAKER_08]: And then like we're on our own.

[00:27:44] [SPEAKER_09]: I was just thinking it almost feels like Israel

[00:27:47] [SPEAKER_09]: where Texas would be surrounded by some hostile nations.

[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah and you'd be like in the middle

[00:27:55] [SPEAKER_08]: yeah with them battling it out on either side.

[00:27:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah so that is definitely like one of the best

[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_08]: arguments that I've heard against it.

[00:28:04] [SPEAKER_08]: Loss of federal funding but we already give

[00:28:08] [SPEAKER_08]: a ton of money in so that would just kind of stop

[00:28:11] [SPEAKER_08]: that back and forth flow.

[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_08]: So what about though if it was south of the Mason Dixon

[00:28:22] [SPEAKER_08]: line that came with Texas, right?

[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_02]: So that would be, I would cry.

[00:28:33] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah so it's like I would.

[00:28:37] [SPEAKER_08]: It would, I could see, I can definitely see

[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_08]: like Mississippi, Louisiana, Georgia, Alabama

[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_08]: coming with us, Arkansas, Oklahoma.

[00:28:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Yep Florida, Prime Missouri, Tennessee,

[00:28:59] [SPEAKER_08]: hopefully the Carolinas would come.

[00:29:01] [SPEAKER_08]: But they weren't even talking about like New Mexico.

[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_08]: New Mexico and Southern Colorado might even go for it.

[00:29:11] [SPEAKER_08]: New Mexico is always kind of up in the air though.

[00:29:18] [SPEAKER_08]: So everybody's been coming south as far as

[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_08]: our aerospace technology, as far as our auto technology

[00:29:26] [SPEAKER_08]: and south still produces a lot of our agriculture.

[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Two of the top 10 biggest food suppliers are in the south.

[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_08]: We produce the most oil and natural gas production

[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_08]: in our country right now with Texas being on the top of

[00:29:41] [SPEAKER_08]: that and we're super big in renewable energies as well.

[00:29:46] [SPEAKER_08]: So there's a lot of good stuff going on.

[00:29:49] [SPEAKER_09]: You have ports on both the Pacific and the Gulf

[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_09]: to the Atlantic so that'd be good for commerce.

[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Right, yeah.

[00:29:58] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean Houston's already a major port.

[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_08]: So but this obviously resulted in the first civil war

[00:30:06] [SPEAKER_08]: and one of the things that I think that the United States

[00:30:09] [SPEAKER_08]: would be very concerned about is some of the largest

[00:30:12] [SPEAKER_08]: military bases that we have are all in that region as well.

[00:30:18] [SPEAKER_08]: So that would be a tricky little play there

[00:30:21] [SPEAKER_08]: on what happens with that kind of stuff.

[00:30:25] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean would they be as heavy of Americans

[00:30:29] [SPEAKER_08]: military stuff as they were the Taliban?

[00:30:31] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_08]: But as far as like the amount of social pressures

[00:30:40] [SPEAKER_08]: that we have going on right now and everything,

[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_08]: I think that as we keep having more and more

[00:30:47] [SPEAKER_08]: natural disasters I think it's just gonna keep

[00:30:49] [SPEAKER_08]: pushing a lot of stress onto a really fragile system.

[00:30:58] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean it would be insanity but I'm not sure that

[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_08]: the United States can stick together when the population

[00:31:07] [SPEAKER_08]: start increasing like they are.

[00:31:09] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean it's just a lot of people.

[00:31:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Other countries as big as us, you know Russia.

[00:31:15] [SPEAKER_08]: But Russia has a big portion of Siberia.

[00:31:19] [SPEAKER_08]: So it's not like you have as many people living there.

[00:31:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Even Australia has you know big desert portions

[00:31:27] [SPEAKER_08]: in the middle, that kind of thing.

[00:31:30] [SPEAKER_08]: We don't really have as much of that going on

[00:31:32] [SPEAKER_08]: and we're just cranking AC so.

[00:31:37] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know I guess we kinda figured that out.

[00:31:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Do you hear any kind of talk about it over there

[00:31:44] [SPEAKER_08]: in the Carolinas Jen?

[00:31:48] [SPEAKER_09]: I mean I've not heard personally serious talk about it

[00:31:52] [SPEAKER_09]: but I mean there's all social media and stuff

[00:31:56] [SPEAKER_09]: that we get back and forth.

[00:31:58] [SPEAKER_08]: That can be boss these days.

[00:32:01] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah so that's what I mean.

[00:32:03] [SPEAKER_09]: Personally it's not like I've been out at a restaurant

[00:32:06] [SPEAKER_09]: and people talk about it.

[00:32:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Texas Session is definitely a tabletop conversation

[00:32:14] [SPEAKER_08]: around here.

[00:32:15] [SPEAKER_08]: So that's why I was wondering how different

[00:32:17] [SPEAKER_08]: is that feeling?

[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_08]: And then.

[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_02]: I would have.

[00:32:25] [SPEAKER_08]: Go ahead.

[00:32:26] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah I would have been more pressed

[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_02]: with border issues as well.

[00:32:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Because with all the stuff that has been happening

[00:32:34] [SPEAKER_02]: down there on the border.

[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_02]: And it just would have increased tensions

[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_02]: and people's thoughts a bit more.

[00:32:44] [SPEAKER_08]: We had to really step up and be like no

[00:32:47] [SPEAKER_08]: we're actually taking care of this problem.

[00:32:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Thanks very much.

[00:32:50] [SPEAKER_08]: You know have a nice day.

[00:32:54] [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah that was definitely an issue.

[00:32:59] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:33:00] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:33:01] [SPEAKER_08]: It's very everything's gonna be really really interesting

[00:33:04] [SPEAKER_08]: after the to see what happens around the election times

[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_08]: and things like that.

[00:33:11] [SPEAKER_08]: There's definitely some cultures that happen.

[00:33:15] [SPEAKER_08]: You know New York, LA, California coasts

[00:33:19] [SPEAKER_08]: that you know aren't really the views

[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_08]: of the center of the United States

[00:33:24] [SPEAKER_08]: which was why I was really interested

[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_08]: to hear the term you know the mid American

[00:33:31] [SPEAKER_08]: federation of mid American states.

[00:33:35] [SPEAKER_08]: And then what do you do like so the East Coast

[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_08]: and the West Coast form a country

[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and you're in the middle.

[00:33:41] [SPEAKER_08]: You know I don't know if that can happen.

[00:33:43] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't think it could happen that way.

[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_08]: That's why in my books I broke it out

[00:33:48] [SPEAKER_08]: with you know the North, the Appalachian region,

[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_08]: the central region, Western and then the Badlands.

[00:33:58] [SPEAKER_08]: I thought that would be much more probably.

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:34:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I just have a vision that's what I see happening

[00:34:04] [SPEAKER_08]: to the United States so let's see.

[00:34:11] [SPEAKER_08]: I wonder if there's other countries you know

[00:34:14] [SPEAKER_08]: other areas well Russia is probably our biggest example

[00:34:17] [SPEAKER_08]: of a country right.

[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_09]: The Soviet Union.

[00:34:21] [SPEAKER_09]: Yeah.

[00:34:22] [SPEAKER_08]: You know and how that all looks after the breakup

[00:34:25] [SPEAKER_08]: basically the divorce.

[00:34:29] [SPEAKER_08]: It seemed like it was more prevalent

[00:34:32] [SPEAKER_08]: to change country lines you know 100 years ago

[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_08]: than it is today.

[00:34:37] [SPEAKER_08]: With respect to like areas you know Pakistan

[00:34:40] [SPEAKER_08]: used to be like East and West Pakistan

[00:34:42] [SPEAKER_08]: now it has a bunch of smaller countries

[00:34:44] [SPEAKER_08]: that form their own countries over there.

[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know it'll be interesting

[00:34:51] [SPEAKER_08]: to watch it unfold that is for sure.

[00:34:56] [SPEAKER_08]: So what's a.

[00:34:58] [SPEAKER_08]: I was gonna ask you on what's hot on the topic.

[00:35:01] [SPEAKER_08]: What's hot topic for Australia right now

[00:35:04] [SPEAKER_08]: as far as your guys is.

[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Are you coming up on elections as well

[00:35:10] [SPEAKER_08]: or you just had them.

[00:35:12] [SPEAKER_08]: What's going on there boots on the ground scenario.

[00:35:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Election probably early next year.

[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_02]: But the hot topic at the moment

[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_02]: is the renewables nuclear.

[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Just back of the board.

[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_02]: So we don't have we've only got one nuclear

[00:35:36] [SPEAKER_02]: sort of one nuclear reaction in Australia

[00:35:40] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's a research reactor

[00:35:42] [SPEAKER_02]: that also makes mech isotopes.

[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_02]: So the opposition have publicly said now

[00:35:51] [SPEAKER_02]: that they want to do all the coal power stations

[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_02]: that are getting closed down

[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_02]: and making nuclear power on top of those sites.

[00:36:02] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's basically the nation really

[00:36:06] [SPEAKER_02]: in regards to that the people are starting to feel the pinch

[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_02]: in regards to energy prices

[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_02]: and grocery prices and stuff like that.

[00:36:17] [SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people are anti-nuclear

[00:36:21] [SPEAKER_02]: even my mom who was very very anti-nuclear

[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_02]: has now turned to the other side

[00:36:25] [SPEAKER_02]: and said you know what let's get them.

[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah we're getting nuclear stuff why the fuck not.

[00:36:32] [SPEAKER_02]: Sorry, sorry I'm a sailor.

[00:36:37] [SPEAKER_10]: Why not?

[00:36:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Why not?

[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_02]: So that's the question.

[00:36:45] [SPEAKER_02]: And this is another thing that they're talking about

[00:36:48] [SPEAKER_02]: as well so all the renewables are going in.

[00:36:52] [SPEAKER_02]: So they're basically cutting down the tops,

[00:36:56] [SPEAKER_02]: the trees on top of the tops of ridges

[00:36:58] [SPEAKER_02]: and mountains and stuff and putting wind farms

[00:36:59] [SPEAKER_02]: into stuff like that.

[00:37:01] [SPEAKER_02]: The green movement are saying nothing about that.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_10]: Interesting.

[00:37:06] [SPEAKER_02]: But if someone wants to cut down trees on their land

[00:37:09] [SPEAKER_02]: in order to improve the land

[00:37:12] [SPEAKER_02]: they will say no you can't do that.

[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's very.

[00:37:20] [SPEAKER_08]: It's agenda driven.

[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah it's very agenda driven and driven to one side.

[00:37:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Definitely one side of the argument

[00:37:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and the ordinary people are not getting listened to

[00:37:33] [SPEAKER_02]: at the moment which is very very frustrating.

[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah it's.

[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_02]: When Australians get angry,

[00:37:43] [SPEAKER_02]: they get angry and we start to protest.

[00:37:45] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not that low yet but slowly bubbling away

[00:37:48] [SPEAKER_02]: in the background.

[00:37:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah and we have already got protests happening over

[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_08]: in Europe and everything as well.

[00:37:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah so they've decided to stop.

[00:37:58] [SPEAKER_02]: One of the biggest exports for us

[00:38:00] [SPEAKER_02]: is actually live sheep.

[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Live sheep through the Middle Eastern market.

[00:38:05] [SPEAKER_06]: Okay.

[00:38:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It is for Islam,

[00:38:13] [SPEAKER_02]: you have a very specific way that you process meat

[00:38:17] [SPEAKER_02]: in order to make a cowlile and all that stuff.

[00:38:19] [SPEAKER_02]: So they can't have their animals already.

[00:38:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Pre-processed.

[00:38:27] [SPEAKER_02]: They have to have live.

[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_02]: So the federal government just a month ago

[00:38:32] [SPEAKER_02]: decided they know we're banning live export

[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_02]: of all.

[00:38:36] [SPEAKER_10]: What?

[00:38:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And I'm like.

[00:38:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So you've basically crippled the economy in that regard.

[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: So we can't, that was one of our biggest exports

[00:38:46] [SPEAKER_02]: is live sheep.

[00:38:48] [SPEAKER_08]: And that's a huge food source loss.

[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_09]: What was the rationale for that?

[00:38:54] [SPEAKER_02]: It's cruel.

[00:38:56] [SPEAKER_02]: The granny got in and said it's cruel.

[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_02]: It's like well, no one was,

[00:39:01] [SPEAKER_02]: well the right was definitely saying

[00:39:03] [SPEAKER_02]: what about people smuggling coming in

[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_02]: and then you know,

[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_02]: this boat is sinking and people are dying.

[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_02]: Can't use that reference.

[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh how's the crackdown on stuff like that over there?

[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_08]: I know Europe's gone off the deep end

[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_08]: as far as censoring like social media and stuff.

[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_08]: People go to jail for that.

[00:39:23] [SPEAKER_08]: What's that looking like in Australia?

[00:39:26] [SPEAKER_02]: It's not happening to the extent it was

[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_02]: back in the early,

[00:39:31] [SPEAKER_02]: 2010, 2014 was the worst part of it.

[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_02]: We're not getting boats coming but we're,

[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_08]: No no, I'm talking about your government

[00:39:41] [SPEAKER_08]: cracking down on social media stuff.

[00:39:43] [SPEAKER_08]: People posting social media

[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_08]: and going to jail for it and whatnot.

[00:39:47] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so they,

[00:39:48] [SPEAKER_02]: there's actually a,

[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_02]: I think they created a national department

[00:39:54] [SPEAKER_02]: within government to police social media.

[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_02]: So it's a safety commission as I've just been informed

[00:40:05] [SPEAKER_02]: so they will monitor people's posts on Facebook

[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and that definitely happened during

[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_02]: the pandemic where people were organizing protests,

[00:40:16] [SPEAKER_02]: lockdown protests and stuff like that.

[00:40:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Police would not come in knocking on your door.

[00:40:21] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, a lot.

[00:40:23] [SPEAKER_02]: It is happening.

[00:40:26] [SPEAKER_02]: There is a big fight back though about it

[00:40:30] [SPEAKER_02]: and I haven't seen really much difference in it

[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_02]: although but it's the bots and it's the scammers

[00:40:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that it's sort of taking over now as well.

[00:40:41] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah fair enough.

[00:40:42] [SPEAKER_08]: It's like you don't even know.

[00:40:45] [SPEAKER_08]: I've seen bots arguing with each other on it

[00:40:48] [SPEAKER_08]: and now you don't even know

[00:40:49] [SPEAKER_08]: if you're talking to a real person or not

[00:40:51] [SPEAKER_08]: because AI is just going crazy

[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_08]: so it's like what's the point even?

[00:40:56] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know.

[00:40:58] [SPEAKER_08]: If you're just interacting with a bunch of AI,

[00:41:00] [SPEAKER_08]: what's the point?

[00:41:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I wanted to say,

[00:41:08] [SPEAKER_02]: oh it's gone, sorry.

[00:41:11] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll think of that.

[00:41:12] [SPEAKER_08]: No, that one worries me.

[00:41:14] [SPEAKER_08]: Google did a movie called The Creepy Line

[00:41:18] [SPEAKER_08]: and this was back days ago, days ago

[00:41:21] [SPEAKER_08]: and they're like well there's this creepy line

[00:41:24] [SPEAKER_08]: and we'll never cross the creepy line.

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Guess what?

[00:41:26] [SPEAKER_08]: They are crossing the creepy line big time.

[00:41:30] [SPEAKER_09]: They're pulling Hops Kitchen.

[00:41:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, if you go back and watch that video

[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_08]: of what they considered they would never do

[00:41:37] [SPEAKER_08]: and compare it to what is happening

[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_08]: in our world these days,

[00:41:43] [SPEAKER_08]: it's just insanity

[00:41:46] [SPEAKER_08]: and how much manipulation can be done

[00:41:49] [SPEAKER_08]: through the social media

[00:41:51] [SPEAKER_08]: to get results of elections,

[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_08]: to get people to feel a certain way,

[00:41:56] [SPEAKER_08]: do a certain thing.

[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_08]: Like guys we gotta think for ourselves here.

[00:42:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, crazy.

[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and that's what it is

[00:42:06] [SPEAKER_02]: and everyone's got one.

[00:42:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone's got a phone.

[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Everyone is,

[00:42:11] [SPEAKER_02]: and you care about it, I know it myself.

[00:42:15] [SPEAKER_02]: I have my phone.

[00:42:18] [SPEAKER_08]: We'll have to do,

[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_08]: we'll have to have Chin do a show

[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_08]: on how he Google proofed his phone

[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_08]: because he's got it dialed in now.

[00:42:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh, that'd be great.

[00:42:29] [SPEAKER_02]: That'd be awesome to have a learning about that.

[00:42:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yep.

[00:42:34] Yep.

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Alrighty, Ellen,

[00:42:36] [SPEAKER_08]: well we're gonna jump into changing earth news

[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and I know you've got an appointment to get to,

[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_08]: so I appreciate you hanging out with us today.

[00:42:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, yeah, no.

[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_08]: Pressing on time on you.

[00:42:46] [SPEAKER_08]: So appreciate you hanging.

[00:42:48] [SPEAKER_08]: Always good to have you as part of the show.

[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_08]: Can't wait to see you

[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_08]: and we'll definitely get you on air

[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_08]: when you're out here.

[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely.

[00:42:56] [SPEAKER_02]: All right, thanks for having me.

[00:42:58] [SPEAKER_02]: Have a good time.

[00:42:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Enjoy.

[00:43:00] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll be watching the circus from down under.

[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:03] [SPEAKER_08]: You're gonna be here pre circus,

[00:43:05] [SPEAKER_08]: so you never know.

[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.

[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Alrighty, take care.

[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_02]: See ya.

[00:43:12] [SPEAKER_08]: Let's go ahead and get into our changing earth news.

[00:43:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Dream.

[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Survive.

[00:43:24] [SPEAKER_04]: Thrive.

[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_04]: This is changing earth news.

[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, changing earth news for October.

[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm trying to jump.

[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_08]: I'm just jumping through this here.

[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_08]: For August 18th, 2024,

[00:43:49] [SPEAKER_08]: we had a little minor CME came in today.

[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_08]: Should have been no big deal.

[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Just a little tiny, tiny.

[00:43:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Cause the KP3 was really big.

[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I believe a KP5 is lights out.

[00:44:04] [SPEAKER_07]: So for something like that to happen,

[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_07]: very, very crazy.

[00:44:12] [SPEAKER_07]: Just shows you just how weak

[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_07]: the magnetic shielding of our planet is.

[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_08]: So that was a little cause for concern.

[00:44:21] [SPEAKER_08]: We have more sunspots inbound.

[00:44:25] [SPEAKER_08]: So the watch is not over.

[00:44:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Eyes on the sun, some biggies coming in.

[00:44:29] [SPEAKER_08]: And we have had some major earthquakes.

[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_08]: They've been the major, the big story lately.

[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_08]: We also have the super moon coming.

[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_08]: That is coming on August 19th.

[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So tonight and then the next night,

[00:44:47] [SPEAKER_08]: you should be able to see the brightest moon of 2024.

[00:44:51] [SPEAKER_08]: The biggest and the brightest.

[00:44:53] [SPEAKER_08]: So keep your eyes on the sky.

[00:44:54] [SPEAKER_08]: Check that out.

[00:44:57] [SPEAKER_08]: One of the really weird things that I noticed

[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_08]: when I was looking at Zoom Earth today

[00:45:03] [SPEAKER_08]: to look at cyclone activity and hurricane activity

[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_08]: is that, you know how Ernesto made that little hook?

[00:45:11] [SPEAKER_08]: How it came in and did a hook

[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_08]: and now they're worried about it

[00:45:14] [SPEAKER_08]: shooting out to England?

[00:45:17] [SPEAKER_08]: That happened on the other side of the globe as well.

[00:45:20] [SPEAKER_08]: There was a hurricane coming in towards Asia

[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_08]: and it did the same exact turn

[00:45:28] [SPEAKER_08]: and it's pointing up towards the Aleutian Islands

[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_08]: now in Alaska.

[00:45:33] [SPEAKER_08]: So I mean, I don't know.

[00:45:35] [SPEAKER_08]: I just thought it was really curious

[00:45:37] [SPEAKER_08]: that both of them did that.

[00:45:39] [SPEAKER_08]: It was very, you know, it's something to note

[00:45:42] [SPEAKER_08]: but it was interesting.

[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_08]: So I don't know if maybe because of the solar uptake

[00:45:48] [SPEAKER_08]: or something like that.

[00:45:50] [SPEAKER_08]: I can't explain it but I did see that pattern

[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_08]: and made note of it.

[00:45:57] [SPEAKER_08]: On August 12th of 2024, this was Monday,

[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_08]: there was 430 earthquakes.

[00:46:03] [SPEAKER_08]: There were 2.0 or bigger, pretty big number there.

[00:46:05] [SPEAKER_08]: 430, I mean, usually we're looking at like 350

[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_08]: and we definitely can see the impact

[00:46:12] [SPEAKER_08]: of the solar energy we've been taking.

[00:46:14] [SPEAKER_08]: There was a 5.4 in the South Pacific Ocean.

[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_08]: New York had flooding from the remnants of Debbie

[00:46:23] [SPEAKER_08]: causing trees to go down, property destruction.

[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_08]: There's been a major drought in Zimbabwe

[00:46:29] [SPEAKER_08]: and big time humanitarian livestock crisis going on there.

[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Romania has been having a drought as well.

[00:46:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Their corn crop and also their sunflower crop

[00:46:41] [SPEAKER_08]: had been absolutely decimated by the droughts this year.

[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_08]: So I found that interesting because, you know,

[00:46:47] [SPEAKER_08]: coming into springtime and whatnot,

[00:46:50] [SPEAKER_08]: a lot of our bread baskets in the world

[00:46:53] [SPEAKER_08]: are being flooded.

[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_08]: Southern Brazil, Southern China, and then for us up

[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_08]: in the Dakotas and things like that,

[00:47:02] [SPEAKER_08]: in the Midwest, the Northern States,

[00:47:04] [SPEAKER_08]: we had all that flooding and crazy weather.

[00:47:07] [SPEAKER_08]: So definitely keep an eye on the food prices

[00:47:11] [SPEAKER_08]: for what's gonna happen there

[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_08]: and you know, like I keep saying,

[00:47:15] [SPEAKER_08]: any investment in your long-term food supply now

[00:47:18] [SPEAKER_08]: it's gonna be worth its weight in gold later.

[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_08]: Not only because of inflation

[00:47:21] [SPEAKER_08]: but because of the scarcities on those days.

[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_08]: August 13th, 2024, there was 388 earthquakes

[00:47:29] [SPEAKER_08]: that were 2.0 or bigger,

[00:47:30] [SPEAKER_08]: biggest of which was a 5.1 in the Solomon Sea

[00:47:33] [SPEAKER_08]: by Papua New Guinea.

[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_08]: There was a 4.4 earthquake directly outside of LA.

[00:47:40] [SPEAKER_08]: It was a pretty big one, it was felt across the city.

[00:47:44] [SPEAKER_08]: So that kind of threw up some concern.

[00:47:48] [SPEAKER_08]: I would be ready if I was in that area.

[00:47:51] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, I always freak out when I'm in that area anyway

[00:47:54] [SPEAKER_08]: cause I know.

[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_08]: But there's some signs going on on our planet right now.

[00:48:00] [SPEAKER_08]: So I would be really, really,

[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_08]: make sure you're pressed or ready to go.

[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_08]: Krakatoa erupted on the 13th and not a big deal

[00:48:09] [SPEAKER_08]: but I love Krakatoa just because of the,

[00:48:13] [SPEAKER_08]: it's the legend of that volcano, you know.

[00:48:17] [SPEAKER_08]: It caused the year without the summer

[00:48:19] [SPEAKER_08]: and Frankenstein was written during that summer.

[00:48:24] [SPEAKER_08]: So as an author, I just have an affection.

[00:48:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Fuego volcano also erupted.

[00:48:31] [SPEAKER_08]: Venezuela was hit by a very powerful wind storm

[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_08]: that caused a lot of property damage.

[00:48:36] [SPEAKER_08]: Wildfires burned all across Greece.

[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_08]: They were closing in on Athens but they have,

[00:48:41] [SPEAKER_08]: and they were evacuated hundreds of people

[00:48:43] [SPEAKER_08]: that have been able to get those fires under control

[00:48:46] [SPEAKER_08]: as the week ticked on.

[00:48:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Wednesday the 14th, there was 440 earthquakes

[00:48:53] [SPEAKER_08]: that were 5, that were 2.0 or bigger.

[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Biggest of which was a 5.3

[00:48:58] [SPEAKER_08]: in the South Pacific Ocean near Peru.

[00:49:03] [SPEAKER_08]: And Valencia, Spain, they had a major storm,

[00:49:09] [SPEAKER_08]: 225 kilometer per hour,

[00:49:11] [SPEAKER_08]: which is 139 mile per hour winds.

[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Just insane, blowing around all kinds of huge boats out there.

[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_08]: But homes completely destroyed, tornado touched down.

[00:49:27] [SPEAKER_08]: So this was a big event over there.

[00:49:29] [SPEAKER_08]: The storm also hit Germany, 199 mile,

[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_08]: or 199 kilometer per hour winds there.

[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_08]: It's not quite as intense.

[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_08]: They still had a lot of rain, flooding,

[00:49:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and Belgium also got hit as well in that event.

[00:49:43] [SPEAKER_08]: South Carolina, they had a flooding event,

[00:49:46] [SPEAKER_08]: laid the school start in one of the towns

[00:49:48] [SPEAKER_08]: that I was reading about.

[00:49:52] [SPEAKER_08]: August 15th, 2024, 420 earthquakes

[00:49:55] [SPEAKER_08]: that were 2.0 or bigger.

[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_08]: Biggest of which was a 6.1

[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_08]: in the Philippine Sea near Taiwan.

[00:50:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Taiwan got majorly rocked for that 6.1.

[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_08]: 3.9 magnitude earthquake in Lake Elsinore,

[00:50:10] [SPEAKER_08]: that's Southern California getting hit again.

[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_08]: And Kansas had an incredible supercell

[00:50:16] [SPEAKER_08]: move over the top of it with a tornado.

[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_08]: On August 16th, 2024, there was 397 earthquakes

[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_08]: that were 2.0 or bigger.

[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_08]: Biggest of which was a 5.3 that rocked Jamaica.

[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Mount Etna started spewing ash and lava in a big way.

[00:50:35] [SPEAKER_08]: An estimated 77 people have died in Minnesota

[00:50:39] [SPEAKER_08]: due to smoke from the Canadian wildfires.

[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_08]: So that was interesting.

[00:50:46] [SPEAKER_08]: 77.

[00:50:48] [SPEAKER_09]: A lot of people died.

[00:50:49] [SPEAKER_08]: Yeah, from smoking in this location.

[00:50:53] I know.

[00:50:54] Man.

[00:50:55] [SPEAKER_08]: I was like, and it's not one day, right?

[00:50:58] [SPEAKER_08]: But they're saying like this year,

[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_08]: 77 people so far that they attributed it

[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_08]: to the increased amount of smoke from Canada.

[00:51:07] [SPEAKER_08]: August 17th, 2024, 398 earthquakes or 2.0 or bigger.

[00:51:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Biggest of which was a 7.0 that we,

[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_08]: well if you listen to the news or whatever,

[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_08]: you've probably heard about that this morning

[00:51:19] [SPEAKER_08]: in Kamchatka, Russia.

[00:51:23] [SPEAKER_08]: Hurricane Ernesto made landfall in Bermuda

[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_08]: but as I mentioned it is supposed to turn up.

[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_08]: It also hit Puerto Rico.

[00:51:29] [SPEAKER_08]: We got thousands of people without power there.

[00:51:32] [SPEAKER_08]: Austria was hit by that rain event

[00:51:34] [SPEAKER_08]: and they had homes, bridges swept away in that flooding.

[00:51:39] [SPEAKER_08]: Kenya's been dealing with flooding for quite a while.

[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_08]: They're having an outbreak of tropical diseases

[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_08]: like intestinal worms due to the flooding there

[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_08]: and just the, you know,

[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_08]: unsanitary conditions and whatnot.

[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_08]: In India, they released water into the Chenab River.

[00:52:00] [SPEAKER_08]: Didn't really give anybody the heads up.

[00:52:02] [SPEAKER_08]: It was causing lots of flooding there

[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_08]: and they're also having a major flooding event in Pakistan.

[00:52:09] [SPEAKER_08]: In Turkey, there's wildfire raging near the Izmir province.

[00:52:15] [SPEAKER_08]: It's in Western Turkey.

[00:52:17] [SPEAKER_08]: They have evacuated thousands of people there

[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_08]: and those wildfires.

[00:52:22] [SPEAKER_08]: On August 19th, 2024, there was 375 earthquakes

[00:52:26] [SPEAKER_08]: or 2.0 or bigger.

[00:52:28] [SPEAKER_08]: Biggest of which was in the Bandisi near Indonesia.

[00:52:32] [SPEAKER_08]: I believe it was like a 5.3.

[00:52:33] [SPEAKER_08]: Sometimes I forget to write down numbers.

[00:52:35] [SPEAKER_08]: So it wasn't anything to be home about.

[00:52:38] [SPEAKER_08]: It was definitely in the five range.

[00:52:40] [SPEAKER_08]: The Sivlok volcano in Russia erupted.

[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_08]: That's on the Kamchak Peninsula due to that earthquake.

[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_08]: So they had volcanic eruptions due to that as well.

[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_08]: And we should definitely keep our eyes open for more,

[00:52:55] [SPEAKER_08]: for more of that activity.

[00:52:59] [SPEAKER_08]: In Ontario, for more volcanic activity due to the earthquake.

[00:53:03] [SPEAKER_08]: In Ontario, Canada, they had a major storm up there.

[00:53:07] [SPEAKER_08]: Streets turned into rivers with a tornado on top of that.

[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_08]: And then the Portugal Island of Madera,

[00:53:13] [SPEAKER_08]: there's big wildfire there causing evacuations.

[00:53:18] [SPEAKER_08]: So on today, the 18th, another 5.1 in Kamchak.

[00:53:26] [SPEAKER_08]: California, 5.0 in Japan, followed by a 4.8 in Japan.

[00:53:33] [SPEAKER_08]: And then Chile had a 4.8, Mexico had a 4.7

[00:53:37] [SPEAKER_08]: and that was moving right up

[00:53:39] [SPEAKER_08]: that fault line towards California.

[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_08]: So that's why I said in the beginning

[00:53:43] [SPEAKER_08]: that I would definitely keep my eye open for you,

[00:53:47] [SPEAKER_08]: for California to see a big storm

[00:53:50] [SPEAKER_08]: or a big earthquake down in Southern California.

[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_08]: All right, volcanoes.

[00:54:00] [SPEAKER_08]: This is crazy.

[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_08]: And I said we should see more volcanic activity

[00:54:04] [SPEAKER_08]: and we're gonna, but 34 active again.

[00:54:10] [SPEAKER_08]: So that's like our high number is now becoming the norm.

[00:54:14] [SPEAKER_08]: It's been weeks of 34 volcanoes actively erupting

[00:54:18] [SPEAKER_08]: which is an extremely high number.

[00:54:21] [SPEAKER_08]: We have 31 showing minor activity.

[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_08]: So that went up one this week.

[00:54:25] [SPEAKER_08]: We have 25 showing unrest, so that's the same.

[00:54:29] [SPEAKER_08]: So we've added another one to the list.

[00:54:31] [SPEAKER_08]: We have 90 volcanoes on our planet right now

[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_08]: showing activity.

[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_08]: Most of the erupting ones are in Indonesia.

[00:54:40] [SPEAKER_08]: And then the two in the Aleutian Islands in Alaska

[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_08]: are actually flagged for minor activity.

[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_08]: So interesting, it's kind of lighting up the ring of fire

[00:54:51] [SPEAKER_08]: and coming around.

[00:54:53] [SPEAKER_08]: California is really the last,

[00:54:56] [SPEAKER_08]: the California and the Western coastline there

[00:54:58] [SPEAKER_08]: are really the last places in the ring of fire

[00:55:00] [SPEAKER_08]: that don't have volcanoes erupting right now.

[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_08]: We just haven't seen the amount of like

[00:55:07] [SPEAKER_08]: serious earthquake activity going on there.

[00:55:10] [SPEAKER_08]: So it either means that it's locked up

[00:55:12] [SPEAKER_08]: or it's doing a good job of taking care of the shocks

[00:55:16] [SPEAKER_08]: when they come in.

[00:55:18] [SPEAKER_08]: And it's only time will tell what's up with that.

[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_08]: But it's eyes on for sure.

[00:55:27] [SPEAKER_08]: As far as our national wildfire news in the United States,

[00:55:30] [SPEAKER_08]: we're at a preparedness level of five.

[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_08]: There are five new fires, 64 total

[00:55:36] [SPEAKER_08]: for a total of 2,229,000 acres on fire

[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_08]: in the United States right now.

[00:55:44] [SPEAKER_08]: And only two of those fires are contained.

[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_08]: Number one state for wildfire activity right now

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_08]: is Oregon.

[00:55:50] [SPEAKER_08]: They have 17 fires burning for a total of 630,000 acres.

[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_08]: None of those fires are contained at this time.

[00:55:59] [SPEAKER_08]: California is number two on the list.

[00:56:01] [SPEAKER_08]: They have seven fires burning

[00:56:02] [SPEAKER_08]: for a total of 526,000 acres.

[00:56:06] [SPEAKER_08]: None of those fires are contained either.

[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_08]: Washington has nine fires for a total of 124,000 acres.

[00:56:14] [SPEAKER_08]: None of those fires are contained.

[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_08]: Idaho comes in on number four on the list.

[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_08]: They have three new fires.

[00:56:21] [SPEAKER_08]: They have 14 current fires for a total of 84,000 acres

[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_08]: burning, one of those fires is contained.

[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_08]: So West is on fire.

[00:56:34] [SPEAKER_08]: They should be seeing a cool down right now.

[00:56:37] [SPEAKER_08]: I didn't see any precipitation on the way,

[00:56:40] [SPEAKER_08]: which really helped.

[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_08]: That's what's helping Canada right now.

[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_08]: British Columbia got a cool down and some rain coming in.

[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_08]: So the West Coast of the United States

[00:56:50] [SPEAKER_08]: could really use that same weather treatment there.

[00:56:55] [SPEAKER_08]: But interesting stuff about the volcanic activity

[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_08]: and the amount of mount that are active.

[00:57:01] [SPEAKER_08]: I just haven't seen numbers like that

[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_08]: since I started recording.

[00:57:07] [SPEAKER_08]: I don't know if it's concerning,

[00:57:09] [SPEAKER_08]: it's just interesting to notice the pattern.

[00:57:11] [SPEAKER_08]: You know?

[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_09]: I'm still surprised at all those people dying from smoke.

[00:57:20] [SPEAKER_09]: That's just insane.

[00:57:21] [SPEAKER_08]: Right?

[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_08]: I mean, we have some serious smoke sometimes

[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_08]: in California, but it has to be like people

[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_08]: that are very, very sensitive to it to begin with.

[00:57:37] [SPEAKER_08]: So all right, I got Silver Streak out there.

[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_08]: Silver Streak, does my volume sound

[00:57:42] [SPEAKER_08]: or does my sound sound weird to you as well?

[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_08]: I'll just leave that open ended.

[00:57:50] [SPEAKER_08]: You can answer me in the chat.

[00:57:55] [SPEAKER_08]: I got to get that nailed down.

[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_08]: We're gonna have to get together with management here.

[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_08]: Ha ha ha.

[00:58:01] [SPEAKER_08]: Mr. Intrepid Commander, gotta help me out with stuff.

[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_08]: I thought I had it all dialed down.

[00:58:08] [SPEAKER_08]: I was feeling good in the hood, you know?

[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_08]: All right guys, so that's all we got for you today.

[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Please let me know what do you think

[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_08]: about your state succeeding?

[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_08]: Would you, if Texas broke off,

[00:58:22] [SPEAKER_08]: would you want to come with Texas?

[00:58:24] [SPEAKER_08]: What does that look like in your world?

[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_08]: I'd love to hear your feedback on that one.

[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_08]: If you want to support the show,

[00:58:30] [SPEAKER_08]: please head on over to changingearthseries.com.

[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_08]: That's changingearthseries.com.

[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_08]: Become a member, help support the show.

[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_08]: Or head on over to YouTube, check out the YouTube channel.

[00:58:40] [SPEAKER_08]: You can go to all the podcasts there.

[00:58:43] [SPEAKER_08]: It's actually really nice to play the audio dramas there.

[00:58:46] [SPEAKER_08]: I think you can play it in the background even,

[00:58:50] [SPEAKER_08]: which is nice, because some of the players

[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_08]: you can't play in the background.

[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_08]: So, it's been a while since I tested it.

[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_08]: Did you test it?

[00:58:59] [SPEAKER_06]: To see if you can play it in the background?

[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_09]: Do you remember?

[00:59:04] [SPEAKER_09]: I used some other players.

[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_08]: To listen to it?

[00:59:08] [SPEAKER_09]: I don't have to use YouTube too much, yeah.

[00:59:10] [SPEAKER_08]: Oh fair enough, fair enough.

[00:59:11] [SPEAKER_08]: Because you don't have the Google phone.

[00:59:13] [SPEAKER_08]: Yep, gotcha.

[00:59:15] [SPEAKER_08]: Yep, so yeah.

[00:59:17] [SPEAKER_08]: But yeah, head on over to YouTube, like and subscribe.

[00:59:20] [SPEAKER_08]: If you guys haven't done so already,

[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_08]: go get my books a review.

[00:59:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Really helps out.

[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_08]: We're getting ready to do,

[00:59:26] [SPEAKER_08]: it's been on the board, it's a surprise project.

[00:59:29] [SPEAKER_08]: But we're getting ready to do a re-release

[00:59:32] [SPEAKER_08]: of Day After Disaster.

[00:59:34] [SPEAKER_08]: Doug has designed some beautiful covers for my books

[00:59:39] [SPEAKER_08]: and we're gonna be doing box sets and stuff like that.

[00:59:42] [SPEAKER_08]: So I'm really excited about it.

[00:59:44] [SPEAKER_08]: Now we're right on the doorstep

[00:59:46] [SPEAKER_08]: to where I can start talking about it.

[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_08]: So yeah, we can look forward to that soon.

[00:59:52] [SPEAKER_08]: If you wanna get the updated books,

[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_08]: you definitely can let you know

[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_08]: when we have those ready to go.

[00:59:57] [SPEAKER_08]: There's a lot of books to worry about.

[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_08]: So we'll take one at a time.

[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_08]: Woo, a lot of medals.

[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_08]: Alrighty guys, Jen, thanks so much.

[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_08]: I cannot wait to be able to see you and hang out.

[01:00:12] [SPEAKER_08]: It's like Christmas for me in September.

[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_08]: But thanks for coming.

[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_08]: We'll do it all again next week.

[01:00:24] [SPEAKER_08]: Until next time, remember, dream,

[01:00:27] [SPEAKER_09]: survive.

[01:00:29] [SPEAKER_08]: Survive.

survival,sucession,united-states-divorce,texas-sucession,civil war,
